Country Rising Voices Rhys Rutherford And Lauren Watkins Share Duet “Problem For Tomorrow”

0

Country rising voices Rhys Rutherford and Lauren Watkins come together on the new duet “Problem For Tomorrow,” out now via DeVille Records and Big Loud. The track unfolds as a slow-burning country conversation, with the two singers trading verses and blending their warm, honeyed vocals across a reflective melody.

Written by Rhys Rutherford alongside Clara Park and Ash Ruder, the song carries a cinematic emotional pull grounded in everyday storytelling. Production comes from Ernest, Jacob Durrett, and Rivers Rutherford, adding depth to the stripped-back arrangement and highlighting the natural chemistry between Rutherford and Watkins.

“I knew as soon as Clara, Ash, and I finished ‘Problem For Tomorrow’ that it was a special song,” Rutherford says. “I had been listening to Lauren’s album a lot at the time, and she was the first person I thought of to sing it with me. I’m so happy she felt the same way about the song. I am very proud of this one.”

“When I first heard ‘Problem For Tomorrow’ I immediately wanted to be a part of it,” Watkins adds. “It sounded almost cinematic to me but at the same time felt extremely relatable, which I think is such a sweet spot for a song to fall into. I’m so grateful to get to sing on it and I’m excited for people to hear it.”

Born and raised in Nashville, Rutherford grew up surrounded by the craft of songwriting through his father, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member Rivers Rutherford. He continues building his own lane with clever lyricism and smooth country sonics, following recent releases including “Long Way.” He joins Ernest on the “Live From The South Tour” through April alongside upcoming festival appearances.

Chicago Pop-Punk Favorites The Academy Is… Ride Late Night Energy On “L Train”

0

Chicago pop-punk favorites The Academy Is… share “L Train,” the final single from their long-awaited album ‘Almost There’. The record arrives March 27, 2026 via I Surrender Records and marks the group’s first studio album in more than 18 years. Driving rhythms and shimmering guitars carry the song forward as William Beckett’s vocals glide through a late-night Chicago atmosphere.

“‘L Train’ is a song about those nights where you’re stuck in your own head; alone in a crowded room, surrounded by social ghosts,” the group explains. “The song is dreamy, but there’s a haunting, nervous energy running through it. It’s our lens into a midwest mind trip where you’re replaying memories over and over…”

The album follows earlier singles including the urgent lead track “2005” and the reflective “Miracle.” ‘Almost There’ builds across 11 songs that reconnect with the emotional intensity that shaped the group’s early years while expanding their songwriting approach. The sound blends bright pop-punk urgency with layered arrangements and reflective moments.

“‘Almost Here was the beginning. Almost There is the reflection,'” Beckett says. “‘It’s about checking in with who you thought you’d be twenty years later, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.'”

The band continues celebrating its return on the “Almost Here 20th Anniversary Tour,” which launched with powerful shows centered around the songs that defined the mid-2000s era. Demand has surged across markets as audiences reconnect with the music while embracing the group’s new chapter.

Puscifer Expand The Pusciverse With ‘Tales From The Pusciverse #2’

0

The Pusciverse expands again. Alternative rock innovators Puscifer return with ‘Tales From The Pusciverse #2: The Briefcase’, the next chapter in the band’s growing comic series. The new issue follows the immediate sell-out of the debut installment, which introduced the mysterious character Bellendia Black and quickly moved through two printings.

Issue #2 centers on one of the longest running mysteries in the Pusciverse: The Briefcase. For years, the object has appeared throughout Puscifer videos and imagery, sparking endless speculation among fans asking the same question, “What’s in the briefcase?”

Written by Maynard James Keenan, the issue features artwork by Marlin Shoop (“Captain Action,” “G.I. Joe,” “Unprepped”) and lettering by Jack Morelli (“Afterlife with Archie,” “Peter Parker Annual,” Marvel Comics). The comic expands the mythology surrounding the strange characters and storylines woven through the Puscifer universe.

“The Briefcase has been part of the Puscifer mythology for years,” Keenan says. “Everyone wonders what exactly is inside. This issue doesn’t necessarily answer the question… but it moves the story forward.” Shoop adds, “Issue #2 pulls you deeper into the mystery of the briefcase, and illustrating that chaos was half the fun.”

The new issue also introduces the Pusciverse comics debut of Major Douche. The character first appeared ahead of Puscifer’s 2009 Las Vegas residency, the group’s live debut, and later showed up in the concert film ‘V is for Versatile’. ‘Tales From The Pusciverse’ comics are available exclusively through Puscifer.com.

Vans Warped Tour Punk Rock Festival Storms Montreal With Massive 2026 Lineup

0

Vans Warped Tour is heading north. One of the most iconic festivals in alternative music history lands in Montreal for a two-day celebration August 21 and 22 at Parc Jean-Drapeau. The legendary event expands its global reach while bringing its community-driven energy to one of North America’s most vibrant festival cities.

Set along the St. Lawrence River, Parc Jean-Drapeau provides a scenic backdrop just minutes from downtown Montreal. Easily accessible by metro, the site places festivalgoers near Old Montreal, the Plateau, and the Quartier des Spectacles. The setting transforms the weekend into a full cultural experience that extends beyond the festival grounds.

In true Warped Tour tradition, the lineup is presented alphabetically, highlighting the collective experience rather than headliners. The bill spans generations of punk, alternative, and pop-rock with standout names including Simple Plan, Bowling For Soup, Taking Back Sunday, Yellowcard, and Mayday Parade, alongside rising voices like Jutes and LØLØ.

More than 100 performers will take part across the two-day event. The Montreal edition also features regional and international talent including deathcore leaders Despised Icon and punk outfit The Anti-Queens. The music lands alongside appearances from world-class skateboarders and elite action-sports athletes, continuing Warped Tour’s deep connection to skate culture.

The Montreal festival is part of a larger expansion for Vans Warped Tour following three sold-out US events last year. The 2026 edition delivers five two-day festivals across North America, including returning stops in Washington, DC, Long Beach, and Orlando, alongside new international editions in Montreal and Mexico City.

Leeds Noise Rock Duo Guttersnipe Ignite Sonic Chaos With New Album ‘Extinction Burst’

0

Leeds noise rock duo Guttersnipe return with a new full-length statement. The group announces ‘Extinction Burst’, arriving May 8 on Night School Records. The album marks their long-awaited follow up to 2018’s ‘My Mother The Vent’, a release widely celebrated across the underground music press.

Engineered and mixed by Ross Halden at Hohm Studio in Bradford and mastered by Rashad Becker, ‘Extinction Burst’ captures Guttersnipe operating at peak intensity. The record channels the duo’s XFCER approach, Xenofeminist crisis-energy rock, where drums, synth triggers, guitar distortion and dual vocals collide in a high-voltage surge of sound.

The first preview arrives with “Keep Honking”, a track that erupts with digital panic and ferocious rhythm. Guttersnipe deliver a blistering mix of atonal guitar, distorted synths and explosive percussion. The music lands with physical force and restless invention, another powerful entry in the duo’s catalog.

The album was shaped after eight years of relentless touring and creative evolution. Members of the duo are also connected to Tristwch Y Fenywod, Nape Neck, Petronn Sphene and Yexxen, expanding their reach through a wide underground network. Onstage and in the studio, Guttersnipe channel raw energy into a precise and overwhelming sonic experience.

Nettspend and YoungBoy Never Broke Again Drop Chaotic “masked up” Video From Album ‘early life crisis’

0

Nettspend and YoungBoy Never Broke Again release the official video for “masked up,” one of the most intense tracks on Nettspend’s 21-song album ‘early life crisis.’ Produced by CXO, the track is a distorted, siren-laced collision of bass waves, rat-tat-tat drum hits, and sonic swerves, with Nettspend’s glitching scream-raps framing a rapid-fire YoungBoy verse that hits with staccato momentum. Together they unleash an almost abstract blur of flexes that sweeps through cash, clothes, planes, and automobiles without stopping to explain itself.

The video, filmed in YoungBoy’s home state of Utah, opens on grainy night footage of cars whipping donuts on a blacktop. Nettspend and YoungBoy are deep in the action, dancing, smoking, and at one point hauling off a loose bumper and launching it into the air. Flashes of jewelry and drip cut through the darkness throughout. The release follows the video for “who tf is u,” filmed in Nettspend’s home state of Virginia, with both visuals capturing the brazen, unfiltered spirit that runs through ‘early life crisis’ from start to finish.

The Mosfets Come Out Swinging On High-Voltage Garage Rock Single “Take A Chance”

0

The Mosfets open 2026 with “Take A Chance,” the first single from their upcoming self-titled EP due May 29. Recorded at Yeah Yeah Yeah Studios in Hamburg through a Tascam 388 reel-to-reel machine with zero quantization and zero auto-tune, the track is raw, fuzz-drenched, and built entirely on live energy. Frontman Keith Mosfet was direct about the approach: “I am sick of hearing tracks that are too polished. We went in with tight playing, real energy, and the desire to make something that can’t be replicated.”

The song has a structural trick that gives it real edge. Each pass through the verse drops a beat before snapping back into a driving 4/4 chorus, creating a kinetic tension that mirrors the track’s themes of risk and defiance. “If someone tells you your lifestyle is wrong, you don’t just roll over and die,” Mosfet says. “You punch the world in the face and do what makes you happy.” Pounding drums, fuzz guitars, and emotionally charged vocals make the case without needing to argue it twice.

The Mosfets drew praise from Rolling Stone and others for their 2024 breakout single “Welcome to the Apartment Jungle,” and “Take A Chance” builds on that momentum with more urgency and a sharper sonic identity. Festival appearances and further releases are ahead. The self-titled EP lands May 29.
