DEARDAN Captures Freedom and Feeling With New Single “Summer in Berlin”

0

Dutch producer DEARDAN returns with his new single “Summer in Berlin,” continuing his streak of monthly releases that blur the line between sound and cinema. “These songs are like movies without pictures,” he says — and this one lives up to that promise. The track pairs his smooth, emotive vocals with a driving dance rhythm, striking a rare balance between euphoria and introspection. DEARDAN describes his work as “Art that goes in the ears and straight to the heart,” and “Summer in Berlin” delivers exactly that.

Inspired by Berlin’s dual nature — its freedom and its melancholy — the song pulses with the spirit of the city. “In all free people, wherever you may be, beats the heart to the rhythm of Berlin,” the lyrics declare, channeling the energy and soul of a place where past and future coexist. With “Summer in Berlin,” DEARDAN continues crafting immersive soundscapes that listeners can feel long after the final note — proving once again that his brand of “EDM with a heartbeat” is as human as it gets.

QUINQUIS Unveils Gwenno Remix of “Morwreg” From Her New Album ‘eor’

0

Breton producer QUINQUIS (aka Emilie Quinquis) has released Gwenno’s remix of “Morwreg,” taken from her mesmerizing new album ‘eor,’ out now on Mute. Currently touring the UK with Gwenno, Emilie continues to explore the intersection of language, folklore, and electronic music. The collaboration stems from the pair’s conversation for Talkhouse earlier this year, where they discussed preserving their Celtic identities through art. Both artists sing in their native tongues — Breton, Cornish, and Welsh — and ‘eor’ also includes collaborations with Cerys Hafana and Desire Marea, sung in Welsh and Zulu.

“Gwenno’s remix is the remembrance of a long night, recollecting the pieces of a relationship that has broken down on the floor, while the sun is coming up,” Emilie explains. “It keeps asking ‘what do you keep from me when your boat is leaving?’ just as the obsession for a lost love would run in circles into your mind.” The track is the first from QUINQUIS’ upcoming remix EP, out December 10 via Mute.

Drawing inspiration from the sea surrounding her home on Ushant Island, ‘eor’ is an album of haunting beauty and cinematic depth. Its songs flow like tides — from the propulsive “Inkanuko” (featuring Desire Marea) to “Dec’h,” whose neon-clad drag performance video, directed by Vanessa Le Reste, reimagines island folklore with vivid, transformative power. In QUINQUIS’ world, mythology and modernity merge, each track echoing with the pulse of the ocean and the persistence of identity.

Elles Bailey Announces New Album ‘Can’t Take My Story Away’ and Shares Soulful New Single “Take A Step Back”

Following the announcement of her forthcoming album ‘Can’t Take My Story Away’, Elles Bailey has unveiled her brand-new single “Take A Step Back.” Out now on Cooking Vinyl and Outlaw Music, the track blends swagger, soul, and playful confidence. “Sometimes relationships can be all fire, all pleasure and all pain simultaneously and you either have to embrace it – or take a step back,” Elles says. “This truly is one of my favourite moments on the album. I love the sound we captured in the room. It’s so live, so full of swagger, so soulful and yet equally just as playful.”

Produced by Luke Potashnick, ‘Can’t Take My Story Away’ was recorded with a stellar lineup of musicians and crafted over three years, pulling from songs written nearly a decade ago. “There’s definitely an empowerment to this record,” Elles explains. “There is a quiet strength running through this album and a deep-rooted honesty and whilst there are some moments that reflect on some of the hardest chapters of my story, there’s a feeling of joy threaded through every note.” The result is her most personal and kaleidoscopic record yet — one that captures transformation, resilience, and light breaking through the dark.

Elles will celebrate the release with a series of acoustic instore performances in January before embarking on a full UK and EU tour through February and March 2026. Fans can also catch a special event, The Story By Candlelight, at Rough Trade Bristol on November 24.

The Unset Emerge Renewed With Haunting New EP ‘Decathect’

0

Fresh off touring with Karnivool, Adelaide alt-rock trio The Unset have returned with their long-awaited second EP, ‘Decathect’ — a brooding, cinematic work tracing the collapse and rediscovery of purpose in uncertain times. Originally recorded in 2019 at Island Studios with producer Joseph Cheek, the project began as an evolution of the band’s sound, incorporating electronic layers, strings, and choral textures into their emotionally charged rock framework. What started as an experiment in pushing boundaries became an unintentional chronicle of a world on the brink.

As the pandemic halted everything in 2020, the EP was shelved indefinitely. Members turned to other parts of life — work, study, family — while the recordings lay untouched. It wasn’t until the band’s eventual return to the stage that The Unset’s spark reignited. “We weren’t even sure if the band would continue,” recalls Simon Ielasi. “But after that first show back, we remembered why we started playing music in the first place.” Those unfinished songs soon found new life, transforming into a record of endurance, reflection, and rebirth. “I started writing the EP thinking it would be the last thing The Unset ever did,” adds Elian Hamilton. “It became a timestamp — a warning, and a reflection of the spiritual and ideological crisis that was unfolding.”

Across its five sweeping tracks, ‘Decathect’ captures the tension between collapse and renewal — exploring misinformation, disillusionment, and the fragile persistence of hope. With their signature blend of restraint and explosive energy, The Unset channel the intensity of Biffy Clyro, the scale of Oceansize, and the introspection of A Perfect Circle. ‘Decathect’ stands as both a resurrection and a reckoning: the sound of a band rediscovering its pulse, unflinching and alive once more.

Ghostface Killah Drops New Track “Ancient Dirt” for Futuristic Project ‘Nightmare in Rome’

0

Ghostface Killah of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan returns with his powerful new single “Ancient Dirt (L’Etrusco Uccide Ancora),” available now on all major streaming platforms. The track marks his role as narrator in Nightmare in Rome, a groundbreaking multimedia project that fuses hip-hop, electronic experimentation, and Italy’s cinematic soundtrack legacy. Created alongside Italian producer Lorenzo Senni (Warp Records) and the iconic soundtrack label CAM Sugar, the project envisions a futuristic Rome divided by class and chaos, where an underground band performs from ancient catacombs as music becomes rebellion.

Through Senni’s reinterpretation of CAM Sugar’s vast film archive, “Ancient Dirt” bridges eras and genres, transforming Riz Ortolani’s original theme from L’Etrusco Uccide Ancora into a dark, visionary anthem. Nightmare in Rome also stands as CAM Sugar’s first original soundtrack for a comic book, made in partnership with Bonelli Editore, celebrating the label’s 65th anniversary. The result is an evocative blend of art, sound, and storytelling — Ghostface Killah’s unmistakable voice leading a revolution where past and future collide.
