RiotWeekend Roar Back After Three Years With Fiery New Single ‘Harry’

0

Alt-pop punk rockers RiotWeekend have returned in full force with their hook-heavy new single and live video “Harry,” marking their first release in three years. Fronted by Holly Nunn, the track carries deep emotional weight. “Growing up I spent all my time with my best friend and over a while her behaviour changed. She had her demons and was struggling with that but, as her best friend, it was also really hard for me to sit by and watch as she spiralled further down,” Nunn shares. “All I could do was just be there for her. The catharsis is assuring that I will always be here for her and those I care about through tough and dark moments and in whatever fallout happens.”

The Guildford-based band—Nunn, Tomma Moulard, Rab McGowan, and Salvatore Bertolone—blend pop-punk energy with hard-hitting riffs and wide-ranging vocals. Their self-titled debut EP ‘RiotWeekend’ earned airplay from BBC Introducing and praise from Pop-Punk Pizza Podcast, which called them “energetic and exciting.” Drawing comparisons to Green Day, Blink-182, Paramore, and Linkin Park, their live shows are an explosive mix of power and connection.

With more new music on the way in 2026, RiotWeekend are on a mission to inspire anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider. “We’re passionate about righting wrongs in the world, but certainly don’t take ourselves too seriously!” the band says. “We want to show everyone that you can have fun even with tragic situations.” RiotWeekend’s comeback is loud, fearless, and full of heart—just the way punk should be.

Malcolm McDowell Reveals How Stanley Kubrick Chose Him for ‘A Clockwork Orange’

While appearing on The Magnificent Others podcast, legendary actor Malcolm McDowell shared with host Billy Corgan the full story of how Stanley Kubrick cast him as Alex in the 1971 classic A Clockwork Orange. McDowell believed for years that Kubrick had simply seen him in Lindsay Anderson’s If…, but as Kubrick’s wife Christiane later revealed during a trip to Australia, there was more to it. Kubrick had his projectionist on standby to run If… for him and his family, and after McDowell’s first entrance, Kubrick asked to see it again — four times. After the fourth viewing, Christiane recalled, Kubrick turned to her and said, “We found our Alex.”

^Without NOBRO

Since first emerging from (and defining) the Southern California pop-punk scene in 1978, the legendary Descendents have released classic after classic, from their landmark 1982 LP Milo Goes to College to 2016’s Hypercaffium Spazzinate. Now, after issuing a flurry of singles to get fans through the past few years, the band — Milo Aukerman (vocals), Bill Stevenson (drums), Stephen Egerton (guitar), and Karl Alvarez (bass) — will be touring in support of a new album. With a very cool twist.

What started with Milo Goes to College now comes full circle on the blistering 9th & Walnut (Epitaph), a “lost album” quietly recorded in 2002 by the MGTC lineup of Stevenson, Aukerman, Tony Lombardo on bass, and Frank Navetta (d. 2008) on guitar. Audiences should be geared up for shows featuring songs spanning Descendents’ incredible career, from “Suburban Home” and “Silly Girl” to “I’m the One” and “Without Love,” and including 9th & Walnut tracks like first single “Baby Doncha Know” and its incendiary follow-up, “Nightage.”

Frank Turner is one of the UK’s most successful artists. He released his tenth studio album ‘Undefeated’ in May 2024 which debuted at Number 3 in the Official Album Chart and Number 1 in the Independent Album Chart. His album ‘FTHC’ (Feb 2022) became his first #1 hit with the previous four albums all peaking in the Top 3. With over a million albums sold worldwide, he has three gold-certified albums and one silver status.

Since his first solo gig in 2004, Frank has played his 3000th show in Feb 2025 at Alexandra Palace, London, which sold out within 24 hours of being on general sale. His biggest UK headline shows include aforementioned Alexandra Palace, O2 Arena and Wembley Arena. He has performed at almost every UK venue imaginable, from tiny clubs to stadiums as well as the opening ceremony of 2012 London Olympics.

Internationally, Frank has played headline shows in all continents with big followings across Europe and North America. He completed the ambitious 50 States in 50 Days tour in 2022 – the first non-US citizen to do so. His award-winning 4-day festival, Lost Evenings takes place in a different city each year – this year in Edinburgh, Scotland, and next year in Dallas, TX.

During the pandemic, Frank raised almost £300K for grassroot music venues with a weekly series of livestreams resulting in the Music Venue Trust awarding him the Outstanding Achievement for Grassroots Music Venues. Building on this, Frank completed a Music Venue Trust World Record of playing 15 shows in 24 hours – all in grassroot venues and in conjunction with independent record shops.

E-Bikes and Music: The Soundtrack of Urban Freedom

0

By Mitch Rice

Where Rhythm Meets the Road

Every generation has its soundtrack — and its ride.
For today’s Gen Z and young creatives, the rhythm of freedom doesn’t come from revving engines or rumbling trains. It hums quietly through city streets on the charge of an electric bike.

It’s not just transportation. It’s movement — smooth, silent, syncopated.

You hear it in the way tires kiss the pavement, in the rush of wind past your headphones, in the spontaneous playlists that match every streetlight and skyline.

This is the new rhythm of urban freedom: less noise, more feeling.

The City as a Stage

Every city has a beat — some are bass-heavy, some jazz, some pure ambient hum. And an e-bike lets you ride inside that rhythm instead of just watching it.

On your commute, your playlist syncs with the motion — lo-fi on early mornings, punk when you’re late, or synthwave at sunset. The city turns into choreography: traffic lights flash, sneakers tap, wheels spin.

That’s what the new wave of riders is discovering — a fusion of motion and music that feels like creative expression. Your ride becomes your tempo.

The best ebikes aren’t just about getting somewhere faster; they’re about turning ordinary streets into personal soundtracks.

Macfox: The Design of Sound and Motion

Few brands capture this energy as well as Macfox, an electric bicycle company that treats riding as a lifestyle — not a utility.

The Macfox X7 feels like an anthem for open spaces.
Its fat 20×5.0 rear tire and 20×4.5 front create a grounded rhythm — a steady beat you can trust when carving corners or cruising long avenues. The throttle hum is almost percussive, like a low-frequency bass note guiding the ride.

Then there’s the Macfox X1S × Bs.Zay, a collab that merges design with street energy.
It’s the bike version of a remix — sleek, defiant, and creative. It carries that underground spirit of independent artists: the confidence to move differently, to look like you belong even when you stand out.

For riders who find freedom in expression — through music, art, or motion — these bikes become instruments, not machines.

The Playlist Mentality

Music and e-bikes share one thing in common: flow.

When you find the right tempo, everything clicks — movement feels effortless.

That’s why riding has become part of the creative process for so many young people. Songwriters take e-bike rides to clear their heads. Photographers and videographers capture their best street shots from the saddle. Even DJs say they test playlists while riding, feeling how rhythm translates to motion.

The ride becomes meditation with a beat — a moment of self-curated freedom.

From Noise to Harmony

There’s irony in how silence can feel louder than traffic.

E-bikes are part of a cultural shift from excess to essence. No exhaust, no vibration — just the mechanical whisper of motion and the music you choose to fill the space.

It’s the opposite of chaos — it’s control. It’s the sense that your city moves with you, not against you.

When brands like Macfox create electric bicycles that combine design, technology, and emotion, they’re not just building transport — they’re composing lifestyle soundtracks.

Riding into the Creative Future

If the skateboard was the soundtrack of the early 2000s, the electric bike is the mixtape of this decade. It’s freedom that runs on clean energy, self-expression that doesn’t shout, and motion that feels almost musical.

For every weekend artist, urban dreamer, and late-night rider, the rhythm of the ride is part of their story.

It’s independence with a melody — a fusion of speed, sustainability, and self.

And maybe that’s the point: the best rides, like the best songs, stay with you long after they end.
