0

Rock legends Rush extend their “Fifty Something” tour into 2027, adding dozens of shows across South America, the U.K. and Europe following their previously announced 2026 run through the U.S., Canada and Mexico. The tour celebrates Rush’s music and honors the life of Neil Peart, marking the first time Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have toured together in eleven years. Anika Nilles joins on drums, with Loren Gold on keyboards, expanding the sonic scope for these two-set “evening with” performances built from a 35 song catalog of classics and deep cuts.

“It’s been over 10 years since Alex and I have performed the music of Rush alongside our fallen bandmate and friend Neil,” said Lee in the original announcement. “We have done some serious soul searching and come to the decision that we f**king miss it, and that it’s time for a celebration of 50-something years of Rush music.” Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart added their support, honoring Neil’s singular musicianship and lyrical legacy as the band enters a new live chapter.

BLACKPINK Becomes The First Artist To Surpass 100 Million YouTube Subscribers With ‘DEADLINE’ Era

0

Global K pop phenomenon BLACKPINK become the first artist in the world to surpass 100 million YouTube subscribers. The milestone was reached at approximately 7:31 PM KST, marking the highest subscriber count ever achieved by an artist on the platform. The channel, launched June 28, 2016, reaches this historic figure nearly a decade later, underscoring the group’s sustained global momentum.

Growth accelerated with the rollout of their third mini album ‘DEADLINE.’ Since the announcement video dropped last month, the channel has added an average of 10,000 subscribers per day, reflecting intense worldwide anticipation. Subscriber count on YouTube stands as a powerful measure of fan engagement, and BLACKPINK’s numbers continue to climb even as they hold the No. 1 position among all artists globally.

The group previously became the first non English speaking act to enter the Top 5 in YouTube subscriber rankings in July 2020, later surpassing Ariana Grande, Eminem, Ed Sheeran, Marshmello and Justin Bieber. In September 2021, BLACKPINK rose to No. 1 among all artists worldwide and maintain that position. Their dominance extends to views, with 50 videos surpassing 100 million views and a cumulative 41.1 billion channel views, earning recognition from Guinness World Records as the Most Viewed Band on YouTube.

BLACKPINK release their five track mini album ‘DEADLINE’ on February 27 at 2 PM KST. The project includes title track “GO,” alongside “JUMP,” “Me and My,” “Champion,” and “Fxxxboy.” YG Entertainment states that the album captures irreversible peak moments and the most defining present chapter of BLACKPINK.

The record moves with confidence and control, packed with quotable lines that hit hard and linger.

“‘Let’s Be Clear’ is one of my favorite songs from my project. It’s sharp, witty, and it’s fly. It’s a great introduction to the sound I’ve been carefully curating for this new era, authentic New York sound, authentically me. I know those who are supposed to get it will love it,” says Maiya The Don. She adds, “The song is a ‘for whom it may concern’ type of thing. A response for those who questioned ‘what happened to her?!’ I am HERE and I ain’t going anywhere. An affirmational clap back, if you will!”

Indie Psych Pop Auteur Adam Goldberg Unveils ‘When The Ships Of My Dreams Return’

0

Actor, musician, director and photographer Adam Goldberg releases his fifth album under The Goldberg Sisters, ‘When The Ships Of My Dreams Return,’ out today. The title traces back to a stained glass window in his childhood home in Los Angeles, long remembered incorrectly until a recent visit revealed the true inscription. The phrase stayed with him. The record carries that sense of rediscovery, memory and emotional return.

“I recently drove past the old house and asked this woman out front if I could see it,” Goldberg shares. “I snapped a photo of this stained glass window which was nautically-themed and referenced ‘the ships of my dreams.’ My whole life, I’d constantly dreamt about this house, and when I saw that window, it felt like the literal ship of my dreams had returned.” The album marks the first time Goldberg performed, recorded and mixed the entire project himself.

“There’s a certain amount of neuroplasticity we all possess,” Goldberg says. “There’s always room for a bit more inspiration, creativity, or self-discipline, and the discovery that I possessed the bandwidth and elasticity to expand my own knowledge in this process was extremely encouraging. At the end of the day, it’s nice to realize you’re still able to feel something. And express it.” The result feels intimate and fully realized.

The record includes the Beatles-tinged “The Great Resignation,” featuring background vocals from Abigail and Lily Chapin of The Chapin Sisters, and the psych-pop pulse of “Our Kind of Love.”

When The Ships Of My Dreams Return Tracklist:

  1. The Spirit of ’76
  2. Call of the Wild
  3. Stuck With Me
  4. The Great Resignation
  5. Athleisure!
  6. Our Kind of Love
  7. Content
  8. I’d Rather Go Home Alone
  9. Echale La Culpa a Rio
  10. Driving with Elliott, Mark, and David on the PIP in December
  11. Everybody Is Dying
  12. When the Ships of my Dreams Return

Los Angeles Anarcho Punk Band Gottlieb Ignite With “Pipe Bomb” And Debut Album ‘The Far Fallen Fruit’

0

Los Angeles anarcho-punk band Gottlieb announce their debut album ‘The Far Fallen Fruit,’ due out May 1, 2026 via Quiet Panic. Furious, self-interrogating and politically charged, the record arrives as a defining statement from a band rooted in confrontation. The first single, “Pipe Bomb,” is out now, with a hometown single release show set for February 22 at The Echo in Los Angeles. The opening line, “Nothing more dangerous than a failed artist,” lands like a flare in the dark.

“This was written at a time when I was experiencing the contraction of the TV industry,” says vocalist Andrew Pescara. “I was alongside my peers on strike, watching our dreams die in a business suffocated by billion-dollar deals. It’s a commentary on the commodification of workers across industries, where our lifelong wellbeing amounts to an accounting error. That kind of disenfranchisement is treated as normal — like white supremacy or a homemade bomb. It’s a cheap investment made from standard household ingredients.” The reaction to “Pipe Bomb” is immediate and electric.

Entirely self-produced, from artwork to recording and mixing, ‘The Far Fallen Fruit’ draws from the confrontational urgency of Ceremony, Crass and Refused. Gottlieb channel volatile, direct songwriting that reflects economic precarity, political radicalization and systemic collapse. “Our generation is in an antagonistic, mutually destructive relationship with the United States of America,” Pescara states. Bassist Dylan Marquez adds, “We are the first generation projected to have a shorter, lower-quality life than our parents. The apple has fallen very, very far from the tree.”

Gottlieb operate out of a co-op in central Los Angeles, pairing post-punk tension with classic hardcore ferocity. Vocalist Andrew Pescara, bassist Dylan Marquez, guitarist Mike Carnarius and drummer Dave Chessey frame their music as cultural resistance and collective catharsis. ‘The Far Fallen Fruit’ stands as a document of rupture, dedicated, in Pescara’s words, “to those who are planting better trees, whose shade they’ll never rest beneath.”

Inspired by the global film franchise, this new stage story follows James and Lou as they flee Chicago for London, only to discover the terror follows them. Legendary Sketch Show SCTV Makes Canadian Comeback on Prime Video

0

Today, Prime Video and The Second City announced that the complete catalog of SCTV (Second City Television) will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Canada beginning March 3. One of Canada’s most influential and groundbreaking sketch comedy series will be available to stream in its entirety for the first time, with six seasons and 135 episodes available to Prime members nationwide.

Created by Toronto’s renowned comedy institution The Second City, SCTV originally aired from 1976 to 1984 and became a cultural phenomenon, launching the careers of Canadian comedy icons Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, John Candy, Martin Short, Rick Moranis, Andrea Martin, and Dave Thomas. The series’ sharp satire and distinctly Canadian point of view earned it multiple awards and a permanent place in television history.

Additionally, on March 24, The Second City Toronto will open its 91st Mainstage Revue where the City of Toronto will honour The Second City with a heritage plaque, with an official unveiling ahead of the performance, recognizing the theatre’s historic contribution to Canadian comedy.

The Second City first brought its iconic improv and sketch comedy to Toronto in 1963 for a week of performances at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. After a decade of sold out shows at the 1200-seat theatre, The Second City established a permanent home in the city with the opening of “The Old Firehall” on Lombard Street. In 1976, The Second City Toronto further solidified its place in comedy history by creating the groundbreaking television show SCTV.

In December 2022, The Second City began an exciting new chapter by relocating to its state-of-the-art facility at One York Street. This move introduced three distinct theatres: The Mainstage, Theatre ’73, and The John Candy Box Theatre, each offering nightly performances that continue The Second City’s tradition of bringing laughter to audiences.

Since making a home in Toronto over 50 years ago The Second City has grown to become the most influential name in comedy launching the careers of countless Canadian comedy legends. Our illustrious alumni list includes names such as Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy, Martin Short, Gilda Radner, Dan Aykroyd, John Candy, Mike Myers, Colin Mochrie, Bob Martin, Jerry Minor, Gavin Crawford, Kevin Vidal, Darryl Hinds, Chris Wilson, Lauren Ash, Ann Pornel, Alan Shane Lewis and so many more.
