Scottish-born, Texas-raised, and Nashville-based country singer/songwriter Callum Kerr is carving out his place in country music with the release of his debut EP Roots Under Me, available now via ONErpm/Huff Co. Produced by Dann and David Huff, the collection blends heart, grit, and storytelling in a way that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern. It’s no surprise Holler Country named him one of “10 Country & Americana Artists You Need to Know.”
“I’m extremely proud of how this turned out,” says Callum. “It’s got a little bit of everything – love songs, drinking songs, heartbreak anthems…basically, a country mixtape with all the essentials.” Each track showcases his distinctive blend of soulful vocals and Southern charm, proving Kerr’s versatility as both a performer and songwriter.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. Callum will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 26th after receiving a personal invitation from country chart-topper Dustin Lynch. “It was a really cool moment to be invited and a real honour,” Callum shares. “The last time I was at the Opry, I wouldn’t even stand in the circle around the microphone; I wanted to wait until I was invited to stand in that circle. And now, on July 26th, I’ll be able to stand there and sing one of my songs.”
Following a strong showing at CMA Fest earlier this year, Callum is gearing up to announce new tour dates soon. With Roots Under Me, he delivers a debut that captures both his journey and his roots, signaling the rise of a bold new voice in country music.
