Pink Floyd Unveil 25-Minute “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” Mix Ahead of 50th Anniversary Edition of ‘Wish You Were Here’

0

Pink Floyd today unveil ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond (pts. 1-9, New Stereo Mix)’. Renowned globally as the two-part epic bookending their era-defining LP Wish You Were Here, the new version sees the full song pieced together for the first time ever. Newly mixed in stereo by James Guthrie, the result is one 25 minute long epic, which will be included in the 50th Anniversary edition of the album to be released on December 12th via Sony Music.

Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ and the story of its creation has gone down in rock n’ roll folklore. Pink Floyd’s tribute to their childhood friend and former bandmate Syd Barrett is a hauntingly beautiful, sprawling masterwork, imbued with feelings of guilt, frustration and sadness at not just the decline of Syd’s health, but the failings of society and modern life. In one of the most poignant episodes of the band’s career, Syd arrived unannounced at Abbey Road Studios on the day Pink Floyd were beginning the final mixes of the track, only for none of the band to recognise the new appearance of their former frontman.

In celebration of the release and of Syd Barrett’s enduring legacy, comedian, actor and artist Noel Fielding has created a series of specially commissioned original paintings inspired by Syd’s iconic image, spotlighting this most unique and influential of souls. Watch the new video for ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-9, New Stereo Mix)’, featuring Noel’s paintings, HERE. For more information about Noel Fielding’s art contact Podgorny, Jealous and Don’t Walk Walk galleries.

Noel Fielding says, “I was pretty young when my affinity with Pink Floyd and Syd started. I remember going to the library and hiring the tape of The Piper at the Gates of Dawn when I was 12. And I just was like, ‘What’s this?’ It blew my mind. I couldn’t believe it.

When I started doing stand up it was all very whimsical. I was always trying to write like I was Syd Barrett. I liked his style, I liked his walk, I liked the way he talked. ‘Shine On You Crazy Diamond’ is such a beautiful tribute to him.

What’s amazing about Pink Floyd, especially with Wish You Were Here, is that the artwork was as good as the music. When you’re 12 and you’re seeing two guys shaking hands, one of them’s on fire, you’re thinking ‘what?!’ And the music goes exactly with that as well; it’s perfectly in sync with the visuals, with the weird surrealism. And that’s all very Syd Barrett. It could be the 70s, but it could be 2040. It’s the future and the past at the same time. It is a masterpiece, that album cover, and that album. It’s a masterpiece. And it’s based on Syd Barrett, who is a walking masterpiece.”

The collaboration with Noel Fielding follows Dear Pink Floyd, a new poem written and performed by Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, which was unveiled last month to celebrate Wish You Were Here at 50. The poem is one of the myriad of special collectors gems included in the upcoming Deluxe Box Set release. Watch Simon Armitage perform the first reading of Dear Pink Floyd.

Wish You Were Here 50 will be released in multiple formats including 3LP, 2CD, Blu-ray, digital and a Deluxe Box Set. The digital release includes the original 1975 album, featuring a new Dolby Atmos mix by James Guthrie, whose work with Pink Floyd dates back to 1979’s The Wall. It also includes 25 bonus tracks made up of nine studio rarities, and 16 live recordings captured by the renowned bootlegger Mike Millard at Pink Floyd’s Los Angeles Sports Arena concert on April 26th 1975, now receiving its first official release. The live audio has been meticulously restored and remastered by Steven Wilson. The Blu-ray edition also gives fans the chance to see three concert screen films from the band’s 1975 tour, plus a Storm Thorgerson short film. The 3LP and 2CD formats include the original album and the nine studio bonus tracks. The Deluxe Box Set includes all 2CD, 3LP (on exclusive clear vinyl) and Blu-Ray material, plus a fourth clear vinyl LP, Live At Wembley 1974, a replica Japanese 7” Single of Have A Cigar b/w Welcome To The Machine, a hardcover book including unseen photographs, and Dear Pink Floyd, by Simon Armitage, a comic book tour programme and Knebworth concert poster. Exclusive 50th Anniversary Merchandise along with Limited Edition product releases will also be available at PinkFloyd.com.

Wish You Were Here has been a mainstay on all-time greatest albums lists for decades. The multi-Platinum-selling #1 hit record was Pink Floyd’s first to reach the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic, becoming the band’s fastest selling album. In 1973, The Dark Side of the Moon had taken Pink Floyd from a hugely successful breakout British band to one of the biggest rock groups on the planet. Wish You Were Here was the band’s powerful response to their newfound global fame. In 2025 the ardent support and fascination surrounding Pink Floyd’s music remains.

Armand Hammer and The Alchemist Drop “California Games” Video With Earl Sweatshirt From Acclaimed Album ‘Mercy’

0

Armand Hammer, the duo of ELUCID and billy woods, reunites with The Alchemist to release the animated video for “California Games” featuring Earl Sweatshirt. Directed by Shane Ingersoll, the clip places the artists inside a surreal, vintage video game ride. The track appears on their new album ‘Mercy’, out now via Backwoodz Studioz, with global distribution. ‘Mercy’ follows their 2023 project ‘We Buy Diabetic Test Strips’ and builds on the world they first shaped with 2021’s ‘Haram’.

The new album includes features from Quelle Chris, Cleo Reed, Pink Siifu, Kapwani, and Silka. As always, Armand Hammer delivers dense, layered lyricism steeped in history, politics, and personal reckoning, while The Alchemist handles production across the entire record. This release follows a standout year for both MCs: billy woods earned critical acclaim for ‘GOLLIWOG’ and ELUCID for ‘REVELATOR’, each solidifying their roles as two of the most vital voices in rap today.

The project features contributions from Teddy Trillion and Diegowitha3, with production from longtime collaborators Jah X and Jordeaux, as well as two self-produced tracks. It was recorded across four cities—New York, Miami, Jamaica, and London—and shaped by real-life moments. Goo Goo Dolls Rock Greatness Shines Bright At NPR’s Tiny Desk

0

Goo Goo Dolls perform a four-song Tiny Desk set that spans nearly three decades of music. The band formed in 1986 and has since built a catalog defined by melodic rock and broad appeal. The set opens with “Slide” from the 1998 album ‘Dizzy Up the Girl’, a record that marked a commercial peak and remains central to their identity. John Rzeznik’s lead vocal performance highlights the song’s dynamic shifts and showcases the vocal tone that has become his signature.

“Feel the Silence,” from the 2006 album ‘Let Love In’, offers a more introspective moment, while “Not Goodbye (Close My Eyes)” introduces newer material to the performance. The set closes with “Iris,” originally written for the ‘City of Angels’ soundtrack in 1998. The song has re-entered the public spotlight in part due to its inclusion in ‘Deadpool and Wolverine’. Its inclusion here underscores the band’s lasting impact and the song’s continued resonance.

incredible journey through rock and roll, and the triumph of finally owning the music he created. After reclaiming the rights to his Creedence Clearwater Revival catalog in 2023, Fogerty released ‘Legacy’ in August, an album that reimagines his most iconic work with fresh energy and perspective. The timing couldn’t be more perfect as he celebrates his 80th birthday this year.

Fogerty reflects on spending most of his career without ownership of the songs he wrote, calling the return of those rights a game changer. Now he gets to perform these classics exactly how he wants, surrounded by the musicians he loves. ‘Legacy’ stands as both a personal victory and a gift to fans who’ve followed his music for generations, proving that some songs are truly timeless no matter when they’re recorded.

Weight Loss Tracker: Disciplined and Dedicated Way of Losing Weight!

0

By Mitch Rice

If you find it difficult to lose weight, don’t worry, you are not the first one. Many people are experiencing the same issue due to poor lifestyle habits, a lack of dedication required for weight loss, or simply not knowing what to do. Today, we will explore a straightforward yet practical approach to weight loss. How about incorporating a weight loss tracker into your life? It is a simple step, but the impact is significant. In other words, you will be tracking everything you do to lose those extra pounds – from what you eat, how much you eat, when you eat, your sleep pattern, and your exercise schedule – essentially, everything. But the question is, how do you execute these?

How to track your weight loss journey?

Tracking your weight loss journey should not be difficult; if it is, then you are not doing it correctly. There is something wrong. To make things easy for you, simply follow our recommendations, and you will achieve the desired results promptly.

  • Take a pen and paper and write down what you eat every day. You should do this every day, since your meals change daily. Each meal will have a different calorie count, fiber, protein, vitamins, and other essential nutrients. You need to know your intake. Do this for a week. If you find writing down information to be too tedious, then use your laptop and create an Excel sheet. If you still want a better solution, consider using specific apps on your phone. There are many service providers offering weight loss tracking apps. Go through online reviews to see which of these apps is popular. Install the app and follow the steps to get started.
  • Once the week is over, you have a clear idea of your calorie intake. Based on this information, you should modify your food intake. You can contact a dietician for a personalised diet chart. Follow this chart and track your calorie intake again. Portion control is a great way to lose weight. It is a simple thing to do, but most of us fail to execute it. Temptation is the root of all evil.
  • Doing the same thing again and again can be boring. Hence, you need to keep yourself motivated. But how do you motivate yourself? We recommend setting realistic goals that are achievable and attainable. And once you reach it, treat yourself to a new book, a manicure, or a haircut. Simple pleasures in life are often the best pleasures.

Final words

Successful weight loss requires dedication and commitment. Once you understand how to approach and manage the matter, losing that excess fat becomes easier. Keep in mind that losing weight and staying fit is a lifelong journey. You must be disciplined for the rest of your life to remain healthy and active. Small and simple changes in your daily life will have a significant impact on your well-being. Hence, you need to be conscious about what you do. Are you ready to begin your weight loss tracking journey?

Oliver Marson Descends Into Noirish Art Pop On Haunting New EP ‘Into The Darkness’

0

London-based art-pop singer-songwriter Oliver Marson today releases new EP ‘Into The Darkness’ via High Road Records, led by new single and EP title track, ‘Into The Darkness’.

“This song was the initial spark for the EP,” Marson explains regarding the title track. “A bit like Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness, it explores and confronts the misguided emotions that followed this personal catastrophe. The artwork, a burning house, visually represents the broken place from which this music emerged – a feeling of losing the only person I knew amidst a world that felt like it was ending.”

Draping noirish pop arrangements and bruised crooner vocals in smoke and shadow, the EP pulls Marson’s sound somewhere between a haunted cabaret and woozy synth-led balladry.

Marson’s independently released 2023 full length ‘Why Did I Choose This?’ examined the grotesqueries of British modern life through satirical detachment. This new era is a move inward – with the ‘Into The Darkness’ EP instead reckoning with the existential confusion that arose in the aftermath of a breakup, as Marson explains:

“While the EP originates from a place of desperation, the process of creating it became an act of transfiguration of the soul and an internal healing of these emotional demons. The EP is about the raw act of exposing myself, embracing vulnerability, and being utterly honest with my feelings. My aim was to transform this darkness into something beautiful. There is a part of myself that only truly comes alive when I’m making music. That is where I find the value, and it’s in the creative process that I can fully tap into and express the rawest, most vulnerable, and sometimes darkest corners of my being.”

‘Into The Darkness’ threads together themes of tech obsession, identity dissolution, and gothic romance, with tracks tackling whistleblowing, collapsing systems, and deluded self-help culture, all exploring what it means to lose control in a world obsessed with performance – delivered with the off-kilter noir glamour of London after dark.

Lyrically, Marson drew from his gothic literary heroes – Byron, Baudelaire, Keats – blending their romantic darkness with sonic cues from Serge Gainsbourg, Nick Cave, and Jack Ladder, the result is one of Marson’s most richly textured works yet.

The opening track ‘Whistleblower’ introduces the EP with a sense of mounting paranoia and dread. The mood deepens on ‘Madeline’, a smoky, vampiric duet with Jessica Winter that plunges into the claustrophobia and self-annihilation of obsessive love. From there, ‘Jeremy’ offers a synth-flecked moment of goth-pop grandeur, before the EP descends into its deceptively buoyant closing statement, title track ‘Into The Darkness’.

Oliver Marson is an artist in continual motion, restlessly shaping and reshaping his world. ‘Into The Darkness’ is another clear, compelling step forward.

Oliver Marson’s new EP ‘Into The Darkness’ is out now, released 13th November via High Road Records.
