I Prevail + Halestorm Announce Co-Headline Tour For Summer 2024 With Hollywood Undead + Fit For A King

Another “can’t miss” tour of Summer 2024 is here! Halestorm and I Prevail will embark on a massive co-headline tour this summer, produced by Live Nation. The tour kicks off on July 9 in Raleigh and runs through August 17 in Las Vegas.

Hollywood Undead and Fit For A King will serve as support, making this a powerhouse package that will be remembered as one of Summer 2024’s best lineups.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Halestorm this summer,” states I Prevail’s Eric Vanlerberghe. “Touring with Halestorm is long overdue, as we admire their talent, energy, and dedication to rock music, and are thrilled to finally see it happen. Halestorm have partnered with mental health organization Sound Mind Live to engage fans to pledge support that will provide free-to-the-community mental health programming across the country for fans and the broader community.

Having amassed over 2.5 Billion streams globally, the Grammy-Award winning band Halestorm has grown from a childhood dream of siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale into one of the most celebrated rock bands of the last two decades. Most recently, the band released Back From The Dead, their fifth full-length studio album which has tallied over 100 Million streams worldwide. Rolling Stone called the title track “a biting but cathartic howler about overcoming all obstacles,” and that song as well as “The Steeple” marked their fifth and sixth number ones at rock radio, respectively. Legendary British singer / songwriter Craig David announces his “7 Days Commitment Tour”—his first North American tour with a live band innearly two decades. SOCAN Achieves Half-Billion Dollar Revenue Milestone

Today, SOCAN announces, for the first time in its history, that total annual revenue will exceed half a billion dollars collected in 2023. Similarly, distributions to music creators and publishers grew impressively to a record-high $442-million.

SOCAN revenue grew to an estimated $523-million in 2023, an 8% increase over 2022. The nearly $40-million growth is attributed mainly to increased revenue from digital and international sources, and continued return-to-normal activity bolstering General Licensing and Concerts.

Revenue from music uses that took place in Canada rose 8% to a high of $404-million. The increase is led by revenue from digital sources totalling $188-million, a 13% year-over-year increase, and General Licensing and Concerts increasing 28% to $48-million.

Revenue from music uses in international territories increased 9% to $120-million, a testament to the incredible talent and success of Canadian music creators on the global stage.

SOCAN distributions hit historic highs totalling an estimated $442-million in 2023, 22% higher than 2022.

2023 distributions include royalties paid to music creators and publishers derived from data matched to revenue received in 2022 and beginning of 2023.

SOCAN members benefited from significant increases in international distributions from $95-million to $102-million, an 8% increase, and Concert distributions from $6-million to $17-million, an over 200% increase, with return-to-normal activities.

In a year marked by record-breaking revenue and distributions, SOCAN recognizes this is not the experience of all Canadian music creators and publishers, and acknowledges that many SOCAN members are facing challenges with participating in royalties from digital sources.

“We take great pride in serving our songwriter, composer and music publisher members, and as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of the enactment of the Copyright Act of Canada, our dedication to legislative advocacy is stronger than ever,” said Jennifer Brown, SOCAN CEO. “We must work to level the playing field and SOCAN is wholly committed to creating the environment for a more promising and prosperous future for all of our members.”

SOCAN continues to invest in its member-first strategic plan initiated over two years ago, focusing on advocacy efforts, providing more member education and craft development opportunities, and prioritizing member experiences and outcomes. In 2023, SOCAN made the important decision to partner with Spanish Point Technologies to optimize the operational experience for members. The large-scale implementation and data migration is expected to be delivered in 2025.

As a result, the non-profit organization is experiencing improved member satisfaction and royalty outcomes while maintaining an expense-to-revenue ratio of 12%.

The Hold Steady Announce “Stay Positive” Children’s Book

The Hold Steady are releasing a children’s book: Stay Positive: A Children’s Picture Book is out October 1 via Akashic Books, and features illustrations by David “El Dee” Espinosa. Stay Positive is a charming children’s picture book based on The Hold Steady song of the same name. The title track of the band’s fourth album (released in 2008), “Stay Positive” is a call to arms to stand strong and persevere during trying times. The song remains a fan favorite and a staple of The Hold Steady’s live shows.

The book follows the path of an adorable armadillo who discovers along the way how music can pull together a disparate cast of characters. It’s also a lesson in tenacity and maintaining a positive attitude when encountering adverse situations. The story ends up in a unified celebration that mirrors the joy of a Hold Steady performance.

Singer Craig Finn explains, “‘Stay Positive’ has a line that says, ‘The kids at the shows will have kids of their own,’ and it’s true: each year more Hold Steady fans become parents or grandparents. So I’m thrilled that we’re offering the children’s book version of ‘Stay Positive,’ which brings THS joy to the whole family.”

Multi Platinum-selling country artists Randy Houser and Justin Moore announce their co-headlining ‘Country Round Here Tonight Tour,’ playing 12 shows across the South, Northeast and Midwest later this year.

Multi-Platinum hitmaker Justin Moore has built a loyal following over the past decade with his traditional country sound and captivating live shows. His deeply personal current single “This Is My Dirt” is currently climbing at Country Radio, and the Arkansas-native just notched his 12th No. 1 with “You, Me, and Whiskey,” a smoldering duet with Priscilla Block. Live Nation and Mattel today announced Barbie The Movie: In Concert™, a live-to-film concert experience produced by Overture Global Entertainment that will bring Warner Bros. Pictures’ feature film Barbie—Mattel Film’s first theatrical production—to life with live music from The Barbie Land Sinfonietta, a special presentation from Orchestrator and Executive Producer Macy Schmidt’s all-women and majority women-of-color orchestra.

Kicking off July 2nd and traveling to 37 cities including the previously announced July 27 date at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, fans across North America will have the opportunity to be transported to Barbie Land this summer and experience Barbie like never before. The record-smashing film will be projected onto a giant LED screen above The Barbie Land Sinfonietta as they perform the film’s award-winning score. Fans of all ages can celebrate the music of 2023’s highest-grossing film in a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, with the tour also featuring specialty limited-edition merchandise, photo opportunities, and more.

The Barbie Land Sinfonietta is conducted by Tony Award winning producer Macy Schmidt. A Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Schmidt recently became the first woman of color orchestrator in Broadway history.
