One of Elton John’s most celebrated live performances is finally getting the full spotlight it deserves. Elton John – Live From The Rainbow Theatre With Ray Cooper is out now via UMe, marking the first time this iconic 1977 concert is available digitally and on CD, alongside a brand-new vinyl repress. Originally released as a limited Record Store Day exclusive, the expanded edition includes a new bonus track, “Goodbye,” plus Elton’s personally curated twelve-song tracklist and fresh liner notes.

Recorded during a six-show residency at London’s legendary Rainbow Theatre in May 1977, the concert captured Elton in a rare, intimate setting. Performing alone for the first half of the show before being joined by percussion virtuoso Ray Cooper for the second, Elton stripped away the arena-sized spectacle and returned to the roots of his craft: melody, emotion, and connection. The result was pure magic.

These performances marked the beginning of an incredible 233-show run with Ray Cooper and featured live debuts of “Roy Rogers,” “Cage The Songbird,” “Idol,” and “I Feel Like A Bullet (In The Gun Of Robert Ford).” The setlist deliberately avoided Elton’s biggest hits, offering instead a deep, reflective glimpse into his catalog—what his shows might have looked like had he remained a cult favorite rather than an international superstar.

“I’m delighted that Live From The Rainbow Theatre With Ray Cooper will be available for my fans to enjoy,” Elton says. “It’s an album I’m incredibly proud of, and listening back to it, I’m astounded by how great it sounds. DED Unleash Raw Emotion And Self-Reflection On New Metal Album ‘RESENT’

DED are rising from the ashes with RESENT, their long-awaited new album is out now. Known for their punishing riffs and fearless lyrical honesty, the Arizona heavy hitters are channeling raw emotion and personal growth into their heaviest, most unfiltered record yet. Alongside the announcement, the band dropped a visualizer for their new single “ERASER,” setting the tone for what’s to come.

“This is a universal song about reflection and being cognitive of your own bullsh*t,” says frontman Joe Cotela. “The concept of recognizing and unlearning our negative habits and attributes is a powerful thing. We’re all sculpted by our experiences with family and the world into what we are today and every day that we wake up we are given the chance and the choice to be anything and any version of ourselves that we want to be.”

Cotela’s honesty extends across the entire record. “A lot of the themes that I’m getting into on our new album and really our whole catalogue are very realistic takes on knowing that you aren’t perfect and addressing those pitfalls to yourself to become the best version of you possible,” he explains. “Having the bravery to be vulnerable and accountable with yourself and setting the ego aside to get out of our own way is paramount. Learning and then unlearning our traumas and triggers is the key to the door.”

The making of RESENT was no small feat. Recorded over three turbulent years, the album was born from frustration and resilience. “We found ourselves stuck not being able to be active due to behind-the-scenes business sh*t,” Cotela reveals. “It was awful for our band, for our momentum and for our growth in a fast moving world as a newer band.” But instead of slowing down, DED built their own studio, Trash Island Studios, in Phoenix and took total creative control.

“Just because we couldn’t release music or play shows, it didn’t stop us from being who we are and doing what we do as artists,” says Cotela. “We made our own recording studio…and we did it all ourselves this time.” The result is an album that’s unapologetically DIY and fiercely authentic, with mixing and mastering help from Zach Jones and KJ Strock. The record also features powerhouse guest appearances from Chad Gray of Mudvayne, Chris Motionless of Motionless In White, and Danny Leal of Upon A Burning Body.

Cotela describes RESENT as “the most ‘unfiltered’ DED release to come out,” emphasizing that it captures the band’s original spark in a new light. “It has been four years since our last record and we hope that these songs reflect that amount of time being spent sweating it out over the stove,” he concludes. “Through gratitude, perseverance and pride, we can now give RESENT to the world.”

The massive release includes eight never-before-heard recordings that illuminate new corners of Joel’s storied career. Among the highlights are “December Theme (December Song)” from the Cold Spring Harbor sessions, “My Life (From The 100th – Live At Madison Square Garden),” and “An Innocent Man (Live In London),” each offering a unique glimpse into his creative evolution.

The record’s focus track, a haunting cover of Radiohead’s “Street Spirit,” captures the inevitability of struggle and the healing power of love through delicate guitar work and ethereal vocals.

“My all-time most loved Radiohead song,” shares vocalist Jake Davies. “I am so proud of Luke’s guitar work on this cover. He wrote some guitar harmonies that really take it somewhere special. Our friend Lucas Holter from Whiskey & The Wolves is featured with us on this one and knocked it absolutely out of the park with his vocals. I got chills hearing him lay down his takes.”

The video for “Street Spirit,” directed by Brandon Vancour, was filmed on a beach in the Belmont Shore neighborhood of Long Beach. “Radiohead’s video for this song is one of my favorite videos of all time,” Jake adds. “We knew we weren’t gonna be driving an airstream onto the beach and slow-mo me falling off it etc. But we wanted to pay homage to the source material. Black and white, slow-motion moments – very dreamy. Lucas Holter gave a great performance in the video as well – Super proud of this one.”
