Canada’s Best Selling Kid’s Music Group MINI POP KIDS Releases “Dance Monkey” Video and Announces Daily Digital Content

0

Canada’s best-selling, chart-topping children’s music group MINI POP KIDS have expanded their highly engaging online library of fun, family-friendly content with the release of their newest music video PLUS additional daily content designed to keep fans entertained, moving, and feeling part of a community during stay-at-home practices.

The MINI POP KIDS’ newest music video to the chart-topping track “Dance Monkey” shows the ensemble alongside more than 65 of their dancer friends from across Canada together on ‘home stages’ performing ZOOM-style.

It’s a sign of the times and MINI POP KIDS have risen to the occasion: The members of the Canadian pop supergroup — who range in ages 11 – 14 years old — have transformed coat closets into makeshift recording studios, living rooms into virtual stages, and called on family to ‘direct’ videos and handle cameras, all to create ever-new digital concert-like content — complete with music, fitness and music for everyone to enjoy.

This week, the brand launched Episode One of their innovative and inclusive DANCE @ HOME program. In it, dance enthusiasts of all ages and abilities are invited to grab a “microphone” — think: hairbrush! TV remote! — and join MPK choreographer Jamie Hodgins (Ariana Grande, Madonna, Demi Lovato) in the step-by-step online choreography class for the MINI POP KIDS LIVE stage routine with their take on Shawn Mendes’ “If I Can’t Have You.”

The DANCE @ HOME program signals the MINI POP KIDS’ unparalleled ability to gather and connect with fans nationwide, no matter the style of stage; with already over 100+ dance studios across the country signed up to participate, the weekly episodes are part of a larger, ongoing stream of at-home dance and fitness tutorials, as well as other ‘brain breaks’ on their YouTube channel in an effort to keep fans entertained during ‘stay-at-home’ practices.

And since their recent west coast Canadian tour leg was unfortunately nixed due to COVID-19, the members of MINI POP KIDS are joining fans online every weekday at 4:00 pm EST via Facebook and Instagram to perform, host Q&A sessions, and interview previous members.

They’re even giving tips on how to audition so that at-home fans can shoot their shot to become part of the MINI POP KIDS too!

Young fans can also dress like their favourite MINI POPster all from the comfort of their home: MINI POP KIDS launched a clothing line with Walmart Canada this Spring, featuring apparel and accessories in sizes 4 XS – 16 XL. This season’s ‘Rock Star’ collection features light, bright pastel palettes paired with iridescent sequins and light blue denim for girls, and vibrant pops of colourful graphics with black denim for boys and is available at Walmart.ca

ABC’S American Idol Winner Just Sam Signs Exclusive Record Deal With Hollywood Records/Industrial Media’s 19 Recordings

0

Reigning “American Idol” winner Just Sam, who was crowned America’s newest “Idol” during the epic grand finale event culminating the all-new innovative and critically celebrated season on ABC, signed an exclusive record deal with Hollywood Records/Industrial Media’s 19 Recordings, it was announced today.

Hailing from Harlem, NY, 21-year-old Just Sam was busking on the subways of New York and singing car to car before she found herself auditioning for American Idol.  At the tender age of six, Just Sam was adopted by her grandmother, Elizabeth, with whom she shares an unbreakable bond.  Knowing she had a passion for music and wanting to help her grandmother pay the bills, Just Sam started busking in middle school and ultimately found her calling as a versatile chanteuse.  Growing up a tomboy, Sam frequently changed her style.  So much so that in high school, her classmates didn’t know how to categorize her.  She wasn’t a girl, she wasn’t a boy, she was Just Sam.

Throughout the season, Just Sam has shown both her vulnerability and fearlessness in her songs and interviews.  Her soaring emotional dedications to her grandmother, such as “Believe” (American Idol alumnus Fantasia) left nary a dry eye, while surprise choices like “Como La Flor” (Selena Quintanilla) demonstrated her fearless metamorphosis into a superstar.  In her finale moment, singing a heartfelt rendition of “Rise Up” (Andra Day), Just Sam rose to the top and took the crown.

Pitbull, Global Entrepreneurship Network & Hello Alice Launch The Hispanic Small Business Center To Provide Resources & Emergency Grants For Latino-Owned Small Businesses L

0

In an effort to uplift Latino-owned small businesses across the United States, Pitbull joined forces with Jeff Hoffman, the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN), and founders Carolyn Rodz and Elizabeth Gore of Hello Alice to launch the Hispanic Small Business Center to help business owners through COVID-19.  In addition to offering invaluable resources, mentorship and step-by-step guides, they are also actively fundraising and deploying $10,000 emergency grants to Latino entrepreneurs. Owners can apply for emergency grants HERE, and chosen applicants are awarded grants on a rolling basis as funds are raised.

“It’s an honor to partner with Jeff Hoffman, The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) and Elizabeth Gore and Carolyn Rodz from Hello Alice to support grants to Latino Small Business owners across the United States,” said Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull). “We are here to help those who need it the most. We’re not here to talk about it, we’re here to be about it.”

The global pandemic has upended and ravaged corporations worldwide. However, its damage, disruption, and decimation of Latino entrepreneurship borders on irrevocable and irreversible. Of the 5,337 Latino business owners who have already applied for help at Hello Alice, 93% are asking for emergency cash assistance. 76% cite declining sales due to social distancing. Even with the recent extension of government PPP loans, the Center for Responsible Lending predicts that 90% of all applicants will or have faced rejection. Given this widespread rejection, statistics show only 9% of Latino small business owners could possibly receive PPP stimulus money. Since the beginning of COVID-19, one-in-four American small businesses have already shuttered and projections predict the closure of another 40% within the next month. Unfortunately, the Latin community’s companies are closing faster than that of any other demographic.

“As a Latina entrepreneur, I know success in business is a direct result of the social capital, financial support and mentorship that amplify our hard work,” says Carolyn Rodz, Co-Founder of Hello Alice. “This is why I am so committed to ensuring that every Latino-led business has the resources they need to give their businesses a fighting chance. Time after time, Hispanic entrepreneurs have proven they can do more with less, but we need to step in and offer them the resources they’ve long deserved.”

Alongside GEN and Hello Alice, a consortium of organizations have come together under the umbrella of the COVID-19 Business Resource Center to provide specific resources, mentorship and guides for support through the Hispanic Small Business Center.

To further uplift the Latino community and raise awareness for the Hispanic Business Center’s resources and emergency grants, GEN Chairman Jeff Hoffman and Pitbull created a PSA that reinforces the shared sentiment that together, we will win.

Rogers and Canadians have raised $1 Million and counting for healthcare heroes

0

With their hearts on their sleeves (and a smile on their faces!), Canadians helped Rogers Sports & Media put a big red bow on National Nurses Week by rallying together to raise more than $1 million for The Frontline Fund through the Hearts and Smiles campaign. And, we want to say thanks a million!

Limited-edition Hearts and Smiles t-shirts and masks flew off the (virtual!) shelves and were purchased by Canadians in record numbers. Proceeds are going directly into the hands of Canada’s healthcare heroes by providing them with personal protective equipment and supplies as they battle COVID on the frontlines.

Haven’t purchased your Hearts and Smiles gear yet? Don’t fret! You can continue to lend your support for Canada’s healthcare workers by purchasing Hearts and Smiles t-shirts and masks at www.heartsandsmiles.ca.

Me & Patsy Kickin’ Up Dust shares the never-before-told complete story of the remarkable relationship between country music icons Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn.

Loretta Lynn and the late Patsy Cline are legends–country icons and sisters of the heart. For the first time ever Loretta tells their story: a celebration of their music and their relationship up until Patsy’s tragic and untimely death.

Full of laughter and tears, this eye-opening, heartwarming memoir paints a picture of two stubborn, spirited country gals who’d be damned if they’d let men or convention tell them how to be. Set in the heady streets of the 1960s South, this nostalgia ride shows how Nashville blossomed into the city of music it is today. Tender and fierce, Me & Patsy Kickin’ Up Dust is an up-close-and-personal portrait of a friendship that defined a generation and changed country music indelibly–and a meditation on love, loss and legacy.
