Alt-pop powerhouse Lights is back with a bang, lighting up speakers everywhere with her new track “Learning To Let Go.” The shimmering single captures the emotional highwire between heartbreak and freedom, wrapping it in glittering synths and heartfelt energy. The song arrives with a stunning self-edited video from Lights herself, inviting fans deeper into the dreamy A6 world she continues to build.

“‘Learning To Let Go’ is essentially about emotional shapeshifting,” Lights explains. “The way our perception of something can change depending on our headspace or past experiences to the point where it’s hard to see the reality in a situation and extrapolate truth. Sometimes our only way forward is to learn to let go.” Her words pulse through every beat, making the song a reminder of growth, power, and release.

The single is the latest taste from her upcoming deluxe record A6EXTENDED, set to drop January 30. The project adds eight brand new songs to her acclaimed sixth studio album, A6, and comes with a full visual album crafted entirely by Lights. The music dives into every corner of life’s experience — from love and loss to self-discovery and creative bliss. “Past lessons, grief and loss, personal growth in a world that wants you to stay the same, the bliss of sensuality, and the recklessness of love,” she says. “It’s everything you’d write down in a small A6-sized journal because saying it out loud is often somehow harder.”

Lights is also hitting the road for her Come Get Your Girl 2026 North American tour, starting February 13 in Edmonton. Joined by Soft Cult, the tour includes 23 shows across North America, including six major Canadian stops in Edmonton, Calgary, London, Ottawa, Quebec City, and Montreal. Fans can expect a dazzling mix of synth-pop anthems and emotional storytelling brought to life with her signature sparkle and energy.

Accompanied by a stunning animated video created by Tamara Llenas of Aimed and Framed, the song showcases Death Angel at their most fierce and focused. Guitarist Rob Cavestany explains, “‘Cult of the Used’ is a depiction of society under hypnosis, being strategically manipulated and taken advantage of. It urges you to leave the so-called reality behind.”

Cavestany also praised the video’s creative team, adding, “Fendie Daywalker did a stellar job illustrating the Cult Leader, beckoning his blinded followers who remain in trance by his strangely charismatic facade, enchanted by the vibrant colors, mesmerized by his stare.” The band timed the release to coincide with their highly anticipated ACT III U.S. Tour, which kicks off November 26 in Denver and concludes with two nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco on December 18 and 19 for their 10th Annual ‘Another Death Angel Xmas Show(s).’ “We haven’t headlined in the States since 2019,” Cavestany says, “so we wanted to make it extra extra! Of course we’re excited to include ‘Cult of the Used’ in our setlist when we hit the road this month.”
