Foo Fighters Return With Snarling “Your Favorite Toy” From 12th Studio Album

0

Foo Fighters are back with “Your Favorite Toy,” the title track and first single from their upcoming 12th studio album ‘Your Favorite Toy,’ out April 24 via Roswell Records and RCA Records. The release marks the band’s first new music of 2026 and sets the tone for a record that pushes their sound into sharp new territory while keeping their unmistakable punch intact. Here it here and below.

Driven by jagged guitar lines and dark keyboard stabs, “Your Favorite Toy” locks into a relentless groove as Dave Grohl delivers one of his most biting vocal performances to date. The chorus lands hard with the hook, “Someone threw away your favorite toy for good,” turning the track into an instant earworm with an edge. It is bold, infectious and wired tight.

Grohl shared, “‘Your Favorite Toy’ really was the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album. We stumbled upon it after experimenting with different sounds and dynamics for over a year, and the day it took shape I knew that we had to follow its lead. It was the fuse to the powder keg of songs we wound up recording for this record. It feels new.”

Recorded at home, the album was co-produced by Foo Fighters and Oliver Roman, engineered by Roman and mixed by Mark “Spike” Stent. The 10-track set includes “Caught In The Echo,” “Of All People,” “Window,” “If You Only Knew,” “Spit Shine,” “Unconditional,” “Child Actor,” “Amen, Caveman,” and “Asking For A Friend.” The release launches the band’s Take Cover world tour beginning June 10 in Oslo, following festival headlines at Welcome to Rockville and Bottlerock.

The Bacon Brothers Launch “People In The World Tour” This May

0

The Bacon Brothers are thrilled to announce their upcoming People In The World Tour, launching on May 1st in Senatobia, Mississippi, and criss-crossing the country through early fall. The tour takes its name from the band’s anthemic single released in fall 2025.

“‘People In The World’ evokes the spirit of classic social anthems in the tradition of ‘We Are The World’ and ‘People Got To Be Free,’” explains Michael Bacon, who wrote the song. “It’s always a scary thrill to put out a new song, and it’s even more exciting to collaborate with Mare, who is a soulful vocalist from Philadelphia that we collaborated with.” “It wasn’t an easy song to pull off — it took time, care, and real feeling to make it pop — but I can’t wait to play it live alongside a bunch of new songs.”

Kevin adds, “I’m always excited to get out there and share the music with people. Some of my fondest memories are of going to shows — watching players play and singers sing — and feeling that sense of community. There’s something magical about sharing a special night like that with an audience, and that feeling is something you only get in a live show.”

In conjunction with the tour, The Bacon Brothers are partnering with SixDegrees.org to celebrate everyday kindness nationwide. Fans will be invited to nominate individuals they deem “good humans” — people who make their communities better. Winners will be selected and honored in each tour market throughout the run.

The Bacon Brothers — Michael and Kevin Bacon — have spent more than three decades honing a unique blend of folk, rock, soul, and country they call Forosoco. Their music and live performances have taken them around the world, from headlining in Japan to playing iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.

With 12 albums to their name and a reputation for heartfelt, genre-defying music, The Bacon Brothers continue to captivate audiences. Their latest release, The Ballad of the Brothers, has garnered praise for its depth, craftsmanship, and authenticity.

René Pérez Joglar (Residente) Set for Directorial Debut ‘Porto Rico’, Benito Martínez Ocasio (Bad Bunny), Viggo Mortensen, Edward Norton & Javier Bardem Star in Epic Historical Drama Exploring Puerto Rico’s Origins

0

René Pérez Joglar (Residente) is set to make his feature directorial debut with PORTO RICO, an epic Caribbean western and historical drama led by Benito Martínez Ocasio (Bullet Train, Caught Stealing) in his first leading film role. The film also stars Viggo Mortensen (Eastern Promises, Captain Fantastic, Green Book), Edward Norton (American History X, Birdman, A Complete Unknown), and Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), with additional casting to be announced.

PORTO RICO was co-written by René Pérez Joglar and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Alexander Dinelaris (Birdman), blending historical scope with a visceral, lyrical approach and a gripping narrative inspired by true events.

Pérez Joglar is a 34-time Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning artist, actor (In the Summers, Frank & Louis), and director, and one of the most influential voices in contemporary Puerto Rican and Latin American culture. PORTO RICO marks the realization of a lifelong dream for the multi-hyphenate creator.

“I have dreamed of making a film about my country since I was a child. Puerto Rico’s true history has always been surrounded by controversy,” said Pérez Joglar. “This film is a reaffirmation of who we are—told with the intensity and honesty that our history deserves.”

Pérez Joglar and Erick Douât produce for 1868 Studios. Norton and Bill Migliore, alongside Michael Bederman, produce for Class 5 Films. The film is backed by Live Nation Studios, Class 5 Films, and strategic partners including the Kwanza Jones & José E. Feliciano Initiative, Mike and Sukey Novogratz, and Noah Assad. 1Community has produced films like Just Mercy, Respect, and more recently the Emmy-and Critics Choice-nominated Nonnas, showcasing their unique blend of commercial entertainment and social impact.

About deciding to produce the project, Norton said, “This film sits in a tradition of films we deeply love, from The Godfather to Gangs of New York, that both thrill us with visceral drama and iconic characters and eras while also forcing us to face up to the shadow story under the American narrative of idealism. Everybody knows what a poet of language and rhythm René is. Now they’re going to see what a visual visionary he is as well. And bringing him and Bad Bunny together to tell the true story of Puerto Rico’s roots is going to be like a flame finding the stick of dynamite that’s been waiting for it.”

Jazz Visionary Immanuel Wilkins Captures Fire On ‘Live At The Village Vanguard’

0

GRAMMY-nominated alto saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins has announced his first-ever live album, Immanuel Wilkins Quartet: Live At The Village Vanguard, a searing 3-volume document of his acclaimed quartet in action at the hallowed NYC jazz shrine. Vol. 1 will be released March 20 on LP, CD, and digital formats followed by digital release of Vol. 2 on April 17 and Vol. 3 on May 15.

The album captures Wilkins’ quartet featuring Micah Thomas on piano, Ryoma Takenaga on bass, and Kweku Sumbry on drums taking flight on expansive explorations of Wilkins originals in a room steeped in jazz lore, adding his name to a list of jazz greats who have made seminal live recordings within these same walls. The album is introduced today with the quartet’s stirring performance of Alice Coltrane’s devotional composition “CHARANAM” from her 1981 recording Turiya Sings.

As Tina M. Campt writes in the album’s liner notes, the Village Vanguard “makes you feel the presence of so many performances that are still very much alive in the room. It is precisely this ambitious sono-spatial experiment that Wilkins takes on in this album: channeling the essence of a location that has witnessed numerous legendary performances. From John Coltrane to Sonny Rollins, Bill Evans to Elvin Jones, Dizzy Gillespie to Dexter Gordon (to name just a few), the Village Vanguard is a place where the sonic history of jazz dwells in the walls, floorboards, and ceiling. It is a venue many describe as holding cumulative layers of musical genius from decades of jazz performances.

Live at the Village Vanguard is a bold endeavor to summon the Vanguard’s sonic history and make it audible,” continues Campt. “It harnesses this legacy and reactivates it as what he defines as practice – a practice of improvisational sounding, congregational listening, and devotional ritual.”

The track listing for Immanuel Wilkins Quartet: Live At The Village Vanguard is as follows:
