The Big Easy Cruise sets sail again January 16–23, 2027, departing Ft. Lauderdale aboard Holland America Line’s m/s Eurodam after two consecutive sell-outs. With stops in Half Moon Cay, San Juan, and Philipsburg, the floating festival continues its fourth year as a full-scale celebration of New Orleans music, food, and culture at sea.

The initial 2027 lineup reads like a Crescent City roll call, with Keb’ Mo’, Samantha Fish, Robert Randolph, The Record Company, Kenny Neal, Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, Jon Cleary & The Absolute Monster Gentlemen, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Dwayne Dopsie & The Zydeco Hellraisers, and many more. More than 75 live performances unfold across the week, alongside cooking demos with Chef Kevin Belton, artist interviews, burlesque shows, wine tastings, and themed parties. This is R&B, blues, zydeco, rock, jazz, swamp pop, and brass bands woven together into one nonstop musical gumbo.

Founded by SoCal native Aris Anagnos, The Rift pull from the textures of LA itself, freeway hum, late-night neon, and concrete heat baked into the rhythm. Alongside Garrett McGaugh and Jan Away, Anagnos shapes a sound that fuses heavy rock with flashes of thrash, blues, reggae, and flamenco influence. “Lightning” captures that fusion without restraint. “All three songs were written during a period of change and grief, while I was slowly losing someone very close to me to a long-term illness,” O’Neill shares. The opening track, “She Is the Bird,” written in West Cork overlooking Coolmain Beach, reflects on shared sorrow and the comfort found in companionship. “It’s about how misery can become bearable when you have company,” she says.

“You Don’t Feel Like Home” emerged from post-pandemic trips back to London, a city O’Neill once called home for five years. The track explores displacement and the way grief reshapes familiar spaces. The title song, “The Questioning Type,” sits at the emotional center. “Grief made me question everything,” she says. “Why are we here? What’s it all for? Where do we go?”

Recorded at Sonic Studios with producer Ber Quinn, the EP features Paul Kenny, Joe Doyle, Sam Killeen, Gareth Quinn Redmond, and David Murphy. Known for a commanding vocal presence and emotionally driven writing, O’Neill brings focus and depth to every line. ‘The Questioning Type’ closes one chapter while opening another, grounded in honesty and growth.

“‘Twisted’ started with James’ straight-killer riff… The song is about a relationship that’s so wrong that it’s right,” says vocalist Tom Ward. “It’s a mix of grit and melody, a poppy chorus and a balls-to-the-wall breakdown section.” That push and pull defines the track. Crushing guitars and thundering drums drive it forward while Ward’s vocal moves from restraint to full-throttle power without blinking.

Produced by Dan Weller, “Twisted” and previous single “Remember” mark the first chapter of Mason Hill’s second album, now fully recorded. With Ward stepping in alongside James Bird, Marc Montgomery, Matt Ward, and Craig McFetridge, the band sound revitalized and sharp. “It feels like a turning point,” Ward says.
