The record features a deeply connected band including guitarists Dave Yoke and Greg Spradlin, bassist Wesley Flowers, and drummer Tyler Greenwell. Spike Polite & Sewage Capture Brooklyn Grit with Live LP ‘Overflow In The Gowanus’

0

New York City punk mainstays Spike Polite & Sewage have released their latest live LP, ‘Overflow In The Gowanus’, which arrived on digital platforms on December 11, 2025. Produced by Randall Steffes for SewerLid Music, the album was recorded during a high-octane set at the iconic Lucky 13 Saloon in Brooklyn. The release is designed to showcase the band’s prowess as a fully active live unit, capturing the raw, unpolished energy and driving riffs that have defined their sound since their early days performing at CBGB in the 1990s. By highlighting their stage presence, the band aims to reinforce their reputation as a touring force capable of delivering high-velocity East Coast punk to a contemporary audience.

The live album follows the momentum of their 2024 EP, ‘Punk Not Dead’, which was produced by Ted Sabety and released on 12-inch vinyl via Solidbassrecord. That studio effort, led by the single “Florida,” channeled the aggressive tempos and classic vocal styles of 80s and 90s underground punk. With ‘Overflow In The Gowanus’ now serving as a sonic document of their current live show, Spike Polite & Sewage are continuing to expand their reach through consistent touring and new recordings. As the band looks toward 2026, they remain committed to the quintessential New York punk ethos, blending historical genre roots with the relentless energy required for the modern road.

Texas A&M Student Aiden Ross Wins Season 28 of ‘The Voice’ in Historic Three-Peat for Niall Horan

Aiden Ross, a 20-year-old engineering student from Texas A&M University, was crowned the champion of ‘The Voice’ Season 28 during the live finale on December 16, 2025. Ross’s victory secured a historic “three-peat” for coach Niall Horan, who remains undefeated after winning all three seasons he has coached (Seasons 23, 24, and 28). The College Station native, who earned a four-chair turn during his blind audition with Adele’s “Love in the Dark,” clinched the title over runner-up Ralph Edwards of Team Snoop. Ross’s final performances included an electrifying rendition of JVKE’s “Golden Hour” and a poignant cover of ABBA’s “The Winner Takes It All,” further cementing his status as a fan favorite with over 25 million social media views throughout the season.

The star-studded finale featured a holiday duet between Ross and Season 23 winner Gina Miles, as well as performances by Journey, XG, and Zac Brown Band. Ross, a member of the Texas A&M a cappella group HardChord DynaMix, has stated he plans to continue his industrial distribution engineering studies while pursuing his professional music career. Following this record-breaking season, which reached over 30 million viewers, the show is set to return on February 23, 2026, for ‘The Voice: Battle of Champions’. Season 29 will feature a revamped three-coach panel consisting of returning legends Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine in a high-stakes, competitive format inspired by NBC Sports.

Calling All Captains Captures Raw Edmonton Energy in “Blood For Blood” Live Video

0

Edmonton post-hardcore mainstays Calling All Captains have unveiled the official music video for their latest single, “Blood For Blood,” documenting a career-defining moment in their hometown. Filmed live during the sold-out Ten Second Epic reunion show at Union Hall, the video intentionally avoids polished production to capture the visceral energy of a packed room at full volume. Vocalist Luc Gauthier describes the release as the most honest way to represent the band’s current state, opting for the chaotic reality of stage dives and crowd participation over a scripted storyline. The track serves as a heavy-hitting preview of their upcoming seven-track EP, ‘The Things That I’ve Lost’, which is set to arrive on January 9, 2026, via New Damage Records.

Co-written with world-renowned songwriter Tom Denney (A Day to Remember, Pierce the Veil), “Blood For Blood” explores the internal conflict between a person and the “worst version” of themselves. The song blends the band’s melodic pop-punk roots with aggressive post-hardcore grit, recorded at The Audio Department with longtime collaborator Quinn Cyrankiewicz. Following the EP’s release, the quartet will celebrate with an intimate, sold-out album release show at Edmonton’s Temple at Starlite on January 10, 2026. As the band prepares to enter a new chapter, ‘The Things That I’ve Lost’ stands as a deeply personal exploration of burnout, identity, and resilience within the modern punk scene.

Capillary Teams Up with Koyo’s Joey Chiaramonte for New Single “Plainview”

0

New Jersey emo and alternative outfit Capillary has released their latest single, “Plainview,” a reflective anthem featuring guest vocals from Joey Chiaramonte of the Long Island band Koyo. The track serves as the final preview of the band’s debut album, ‘in remembrance’, which is set to arrive on January 2, 2026, via 51st State Records. Weaving together nostalgic lyrics and dynamic melodies, “Plainview” explores the bittersweet nature of outgrowing people and places while maintaining a sense of gratitude for the journey. Frontman Jake Rubin describes the song as a walk down memory lane that ultimately lands in a place of excitement for the future, with Chiaramonte’s contribution mirroring Rubin’s Jersey-based ruminations with his own Long Island perspective.

Formed in 2023, Capillary has quickly established a sound that honors genre purists while pushing forward, drawing significant influence from foundational acts like Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, and Title Fight. The upcoming full-length was recorded, mixed, and mastered at the renowned Studio 4 in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, with producer Justin Bartlett, known for his work with All Under Heaven and Carly Cosgrove. Building on the momentum of early singles “Lost Sleep” and “Time Before The Order,” the ten-track collection promises a blend of compelling riffs and poignant vocal performances. As the band prepares for the January release, ‘in remembrance’ stands as a powerful testament to the enduring emotional resonance of the Northeast emo scene.

Peach PRC Unveils Debut Album ‘Porcelain’ and Vulnerable New Anthem “Out Loud”

0

Global pop visionary Peach PRC has officially announced that her highly anticipated debut album, ‘Porcelain’, will be released on March 20, 2026. Described as her most transformative work to date, the record bridges the gap between her “glitter-charged” persona and her raw humanity as Shaylee. The title serves as a metaphor for resilience, reclaiming the material’s reputation for fragility to highlight its enduring strength. This creative “chrysalis” follows the massive success of her 2023 ‘Manic Dream Pixie’ EP and marks a peak in her evolution as a storyteller, drawing inspiration from 2000s icons like Britney Spears and Katy Perry alongside modern Euro-pop sensibilities.

The announcement is accompanied by the new single “Out Loud,” a desperate and shimmering confession regarding the anguish of a closeted relationship. Produced by a powerhouse team including Konstantin Kersting (Tones and I) and Ryan Linvill (Chappell Roan), the track deliberately utilizes frantic drum patterns and intense vocal intonations to capture the “self-delusion and blind faith” of a doomed romance. This follow-up to the hit lead single “Miss Erotica” arrives as Peach PRC prepares for her “Wandering Spirit Tour” across Australia and New Zealand, as well as a featured performance at the Party In The Paddock Festival in February. With over tens of millions of global streams already under her belt, ‘Porcelain’ is poised to cement her status as a definitive voice in the next generation of pop.

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band Unearthed: Legendary “Good Evening Boys & Girls” 21-CD Box Set Arrives April 10

0

The Sensational Alex Harvey Band (SAHB) has announced the definitive chronicle of their live legacy with the April 10, 2026, release of the “Good Evening Boys & Girls” box set. Spanning a staggering 21 CDs, the collection features 16 previously unreleased performances that track the original lineup’s journey from London’s Marquee Club in 1973 to their final historic runs. A crown jewel of the set is the long-mythologized 1975 Glasgow Apollo Christmas Show, finally unearthed and restored for public consumption. Sourced primarily from soundboard and radio recordings, the audio has been meticulously remastered by Pete Reynolds (Mott The Hoople, Fleetwood Mac) to preserve the gritty, unvarnished, and unpredictable atmosphere that defined SAHB’s theatrical street-rock fusion.

Beyond the music, the box set serves as a deep archival dive into the band’s working life, curated with the full cooperation of Zal Cleminson, Chris Glen, and the estates of Alex Harvey and the McKenna brothers. It includes a 144-page hardback book featuring rare photography and new notes by historian Martin Kielty, alongside memorabilia sourced from the private archives of the late Ted McKenna. Fans will also find a replica Glasgow Apollo program and a signed photograph from Cleminson and Glen, completing what is arguably the most comprehensive document of the band’s storied career. From New York to Berlin, this collection invites listeners back into the ballrooms and festivals where SAHB’s unique blend of humor, heartbreak, and raw power became legendary.
