Bright Eyes Announce 21st Anniversary Shows For ‘I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning’ And ‘Digital Ash In A Digital Urn’

Bright Eyes have announced a landmark series of 21st-anniversary shows to celebrate their two era-defining albums released on the same day in 2005: ‘I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning’ and ‘Digital Ash in a Digital Urn’. This summer, the trio of Conor Oberst, Mike Mogis, and Nathaniel Walcott will perform both albums in their entirety during three massive headline dates at some of the most hallowed venues in the United States. ‘I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning’, a heartland rock masterpiece featuring tracks like “First Day Of My Life,” will be paired each night with the moody, electronic-leaning companion ‘Digital Ash in a Digital Urn’, showcasing the dual creative peaks of the band’s most prolific period.

To make these events even more special, Bright Eyes will be joined by a revolving cast of longtime friends and legendary supporting acts. Tilly and the Wall will join them at Red Rocks, while the Hollywood Bowl show features The Moldy Peaches, and Built To Spill will support at Forest Hills Stadium. Conor Oberst shared his excitement for the run, noting that while he traditionally dislikes birthdays, he couldn’t pass up the chance to celebrate the “coming of age” of these two records with his bandmates and fans. The performances are designed as a “magical thing” that brings together the acoustic folk and dark, atmospheric post-punk elements that re-wrote the indie rock playbook two decades ago.

Tickets for these exclusive anniversary shows go on sale this Friday, December 12, at 10 am local time, with an artist presale beginning on Wednesday, December 10. These three dates represent the first time the band has dedicated a tour to the full performance of these specific albums, offering fans a rare opportunity to see deep cuts and hits alike in a singular, continuous live setting. From the simmering glow of their folk masterpieces to the agitated synth-pop of their electronic experiments, Bright Eyes is prepared to look back at their “imperial phase” with their most ambitious production to date.

A major highlight of the run is a two-night stand at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre over Memorial Day weekend, alongside high-profile appearances at Bonnaroo and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. This tour announcement follows the explosive success of their new single “Another Life,” which recently hit No. 1 at Triple A radio and topped Billboard’s Adult Alternative Airplay chart, serving as the band’s first original release and debut for Island Records in over ten years.

In addition to their headlining dates, the band is set to make a highly anticipated return to the UK and Europe for the first time in more than a decade, including a headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace and several international festival slots. This performance was part of a meticulously crafted two-night residency titled “Barnaby Glimpse’s Show Upon Time,” a narrative-driven production that transformed the arena into the fictional, colonial-era town of Lovering’s Hollow. Night one focused on a surreal “dark carnival” theme, featuring period-inspired attire, animal-themed puppetry, and woodwind textures from frequent collaborator Stuart Bogie. The tension-filled Radiohead cover served as a centerpiece for the second set, fitting perfectly into the production’s shadowy atmosphere before dissolving into expansive improvisations on fan favorites like “Madhuvan” and “Dripfield.”

Manchester’s emergent nu-riot grrrl supergroup Brain Leak has officially closed their first bracing chapter with the release of the “Save Me” single, completing their debut ‘Put Back Together’ EP. Centered on the raw, complex introspections of songwriter Tara-Gabriella Engelhardt, the collection was forged during a volatile period of early sobriety and self-reckoning. The EP features an “all-star” assembly of the UK’s alternative scene, including members of Working Men’s Club, Peaness, The Orielles, and Blanketman. Following the critical success of their breakout single “Trying,” which earned rotation on BBC 6 Music and Radio X, this project marks Brain Leak’s arrival as one of the most vital new acts of 2025, blending bone-bearing vulnerability with explosive, atmospheric rock.

The production of ‘Put Back Together’ was an intentionally fragmented journey, with each track shaped by a different collaborator to explore various sonic corners.
