Europe Announce New Album ‘Come This Madness’ and Launch Single “One On One” After Nine Years Away

0

Nine years between albums is a long time, and Europe have used every bit of it. ‘Come This Madness,’ the Swedish hard rock outfit’s 12th studio album, arrives September 25 via Silver Lining Music and Hell & Back Recordings, and it announces itself with immediate force. Lead single “One On One” is out now, accompanied by a striking music video featuring acclaimed actor Peter Stormare (Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Minority Report), directed by Patric Ullaeus.

The album was recorded at RMV Studio in Stockholm, the recording facility founded by Benny Andersson and Ludvig Andersson, and produced by Tom Dalgety, whose credits include Ghost, Rammstein, Pixies, The Cult, and Opeth. Dalgety went deep into the writing and recording process, co-writing on select tracks and functioning, as Joey Tempest puts it, as a sixth member of the band. Mike Fraser (AC/DC, Van Halen, Metallica) handled mixing. The album also features guest appearances from Tobias Forge of Ghost and Michael Åkerfeldt of Opeth, and its artwork was created by Storm Studios, known for their work with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Muse. That’s a production team assembled with serious intention.

“One On One” opens with an orchestral intro before moving into a driving bass riff layered with soaring melodies, building into an arena-ready hard rock moment that lands between Europe’s classic sound and something genuinely fresh. “The power and feel is fresh, but some of the melodies bring me back to where it all began,” says Tempest. “Lyrically, it’s perhaps not filled with as much escapism as early Europe. These lyrics automatically ended up being more of a reflection of the times we live in today.” The track is one the band refused to abandon through years of development, and that persistence paid off.

‘Come This Madness’ arrives across songs including “The Cult of Ignorance,” the title track, “Scandinavian Eyes,” and “The Devil’s Back,” a full 11-track statement that the band describes as their most uncompromising work to date. Pre-orders are live now on vinyl, CD, and digital formats.

The album release comes alongside an extensive live run, including festival appearances at Graspop Metal Meeting, Wacken Open Air, and Stonedead Festival, followed by The Final Countdown 40th Anniversary Tour launching September 30 in Glasgow and running through November across the UK, Europe, and Scandinavia. Editors Drop New Single “Call It In” and Announce a Sweeping 2027 UK and European Tour

0

Editors are moving again. The Birmingham-formed post-punk outfit just released “Call It In,” their first new music since 2022’s ‘EBM,’ and announced an extensive 2027 tour through the UK, Ireland, and Europe. Tickets go on sale April 30 at 11 AM local in Europe and May 1 at 10 AM in the UK.

“Call It In” arrives from sessions the band spent holed up in rural Gloucestershire in summer 2025. “It’s a song about asking for help, really,” says frontman Tom Smith, “in the presence of an existential dread, finding solace and comfort in someone close, escaping the deafening noise of modern life.” It’s a sharp, focused return from a band that clearly took their time getting it right.

Formed in 2002 and together since meeting at university in Birmingham, Editors have released seven studio albums, all of which reached the UK top 10. Their debut ‘The Back Room’ earned a Mercury Prize nomination. ‘An End Has A Start’ hit number one in the UK and earned a Brit Award nomination. ‘In This Light and On This Evening’ also topped the UK charts. That’s a catalog with real weight behind it, and a fanbase that shows up, evidenced by two sold-out nights at AFAS Live in Amsterdam in 2024, moving nearly 12,000 tickets and grossing close to $580,000.

Before the 2027 run, Editors have a full summer 2026 festival calendar, including an appearance at Pinkpop in the Netherlands, and the opening of a new Birmingham venue, The Warehouse at Villa Park, on July 9. The 2027 European leg launches January 26 in Rouen, France, moving through Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Croatia, and more before the UK and Ireland leg kicks off February 28 in Dublin, closing March 12 in Southampton.

Karol G Adds New Dates to the ‘Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour’ After Overwhelming Presale Demand

0

The demand for Karol G’s ‘Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour’ came in hard, and the Colombian superstar responded accordingly. Due to overwhelming presale activity, the Grammy Award-winning Latin titan has added second and third nights across multiple markets in the U.S. and Spain. SoFi Stadium in Inglewood now hosts three consecutive nights August 14 through 16, joining a growing list of venues requiring additional dates including Soldier Field in Chicago, Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, and three Spanish stadium shows in Barcelona, Sevilla, and Madrid.

The tour is a genuinely global undertaking. The ‘Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour’ moves through the U.S. and Canada through October, then into Mexico, Central and South America through February 2027, before swinging through Spain, Portugal, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, Germany, and Italy through July 2027. It’s the kind of routing that only a handful of artists in the world can pull off, and Karol G is firmly in that company.

The scale makes sense given the precedent. Her previous ‘Mañana Será Bonito Tour,’ which ran from August 2023 through July 2024, grossed over $304 million across 62 shows and 2.2 million tickets, a run that established her as one of the most powerful stadium draws on the planet. Days after headlining both weekends at Coachella, she announced this tour, and the presale response made clear that appetite for her live show has only grown.

Presales are live now in select markets, with general on-sale dates varying by market. Follow @karolg on social media for updates and visit karolgmusic.com for tickets.

Video: Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney’s “The Girl Is Mine” Captures a Once-in-a-Lifetime Studio Moment

Before ‘Thriller’ became the best-selling album of all time, it opened with this, a breezy, warmhearted duet between Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney that showed a different side of both artists entirely. “The Girl Is Mine,” released in 1982, was actually the first single from ‘Thriller,’ arriving ahead of the album and giving the world a charming, playful exchange between two of music’s most iconic figures at the height of their respective powers.

Minyo Crusaders Reimagine Japanese Folk Music for the World on New Album ‘From Japan with Love’

0

Minyo Crusaders have announced ‘From Japan with Love,’ a vibrant new album arriving June 26 that reimagines traditional Japanese folk songs through the lens of global rhythms. The announcement arrives alongside lead single “Hanagasa Ondo feat. Frente Cumbiero,” available to stream now. The album is available for pre-order on black vinyl, CD, and digital download.

The concept runs deep. Min’yō, the traditional Japanese folk music at the heart of this project, carries centuries of everyday life across Japan, expressions of human connection, family ties, and longing for home. Minyo Crusaders bring those songs into conversation with Latin, African, and Caribbean rhythmic elements, treating the source material with both respect and genuine reinvention. “Min’yō is both the closest and most distant folk music for Japanese people,” says bandleader Katsumi Tanaka. “Its essence is deeply embedded in us, even if we don’t always recognize it.”

‘From Japan with Love’ marks the first time Minyo Crusaders have incorporated guest artists into a full-length studio release. Japanese vocalists Chitose Hajime and Saya Asakura appear alongside longtime collaborators Frente Cumbiero, expanding the band’s already wide cross-cultural reach. The lead single draws direct inspiration from the cumbia standard “Cumbia en Do Menor” while folding in Japanese folk traditions with a naturalness that feels anything but forced.

Producer and musical director Koichiro Osawa puts it clearly: “We’ve reimagined min’yō through the global musical influences that have shaped us, blending them with diverse rhythms and grooves. We hope this music can travel beyond language and borders.” Lead vocalist Freddie Tsukamoto adds a refreshingly direct take: “We just think min’yō is fun and cool. No need to overthink it. We hope people of all generations can simply sing, dance, and enjoy it in their own way.”

The album arrives backed by a serious international touring resume that includes Primavera Sound Bogotá, Roskilde, WOMAD UK, and Sziget. North American and European touring follows the June 26 release. Pre-order ‘From Japan with Love’ now.

Florida Rockers Gunshine Drop “Finite” and Gear Up for Album ‘Grand Rising’ This July

0

Gunshine have a new single out and a full album on the way. The Pensacola, Florida rock outfit just released “Finite,” the fourth track unveiled from their forthcoming full-length ‘Grand Rising,’ due out digitally July 24 via vnclm_ and Create Music Group. Physical copies, including CD and double vinyl editions, are available now at gunshine.diggers.store.

“Finite” has a powerful, driving feel anchored by a super melodic chorus, exactly the kind of combination that defines Gunshine at their best. Guitarist and vocalist Austin Ingerman wrote the vocal melodies and central riff while working on a completely different song, dropped everything, and finished it on the spot. The title drew from Oliver Burkeman’s book ‘Four Thousand Weeks,’ which kept circling back to the phrase “we’re so finite.” Ingerman and vocalist Jordan Benson then sat down together to finish the lyrics. “Our time is limited,” Ingerman says, “and if you’re always seeking ‘the next thing,’ the present moment will pass you by.”

The track was recorded in Las Vegas with producer, engineer, and mixer Chris Collier, who handled production and mixing across the entire album. Collier’s credits include Korn, Mick Mars, Whitesnake, and Lynch Mob, and his heavy-hitting production value translates the songs with real sonic weight. Ingerman has worked with Collier for nine years, and the relationship shows.

‘Grand Rising’ is a 13-track project that pushes Gunshine into new sonic territory while staying grounded in the catchy vocal melodies, blistering guitar riffs, and lethal rhythm section that built their reputation. The album features a guest appearance from Michael Starr on “Shark Lounge,” one of 13 tracks the band describes as each being single-worthy in its own right.

Stream “Finite” now and watch the official music video. Physical copies ship now, with the digital release arriving July 24.

BoDeans Hit the Road to Celebrate 40 Years of Heartland Rock With a Nationwide Anniversary Tour

0

Forty years in and BoDeans are still showing up. The legendary American roots rock outfit has launched a nationwide anniversary tour, “40 Years of Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams… and Good Things,” celebrating four decades of songwriting, touring, and heartland rock that helped define an era. Formed in Waukesha, Wisconsin in the early 1980s, the band built their reputation the old-fashioned way, one show at a time, one unforgettable song at a time.

The tour pulls from across their catalog, hitting cornerstone tracks like “Good Things,” “Idaho,” and the enduring 1993 hit “Closer to Free,” alongside deeper cuts and select new material. Founding member, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Kurt Neumann remains the driving force. “It’s a great feeling to play music for people who want to hear it and sing along,” he says. “These days, it often brings them back to memories of their youth, and that’s what makes them happy.”

The BoDeans’ career résumé is genuinely impressive. Their 1986 debut ‘Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams,’ produced by T Bone Burnett, established their signature sound and shared stages with U2, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Tom Petty, The Pretenders, and David Bowie. They’ve logged more than 70 television placements, earned recognition in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s Midwest Artists exhibit, and landed “Closer to Free” as the theme song for FOX’s Party of Five. That’s a legacy that sticks.

Their most recent album, ‘4 The Last Time’ (2022), written and recorded by Neumann in Austin, Texas, keeps the roots-driven energy alive with a modern lens on life, love, and resilience. More than a dozen studio albums deep, the band’s balance of radio-ready hooks and personal storytelling remains intact and fully in force on stage.

“Performing live is really important. It’s about living in the moment,” Neumann says. “It’s imperfect and electric, and I think that’s exactly why people are drawn to live shows. The audience is everything.”
