Theory Releases New Single “Strangers” Addressing America’s Political Divisiveness

Multi-platinum band THEORY (Theory Of A Deadman) has released their new single “Strangers” from their forthcoming studio album Say Nothing, out January 31st. Addressing the current tense state of American politics and the divisive nature of our culture, “Strangers” strikes a chord with its thought-provoking prose, calling out how nasty it has become between those with differing political affiliations and our society’s increasing inability to openly listen and relate to one another. On Say Nothing, THEORY is speaking up through timely lyrical commentary that finds the band’s finger on the pulse of the current climate and the issues that our society is grappling with today, threaded together with a message that’s both a cautionary warning and a hopeful wish for our collective future.

“‘Strangers’ talks about American politics and the divisiveness our country is facing right now,” shares lead vocalist and songwriter Tyler Connolly. “It was inspired by the continuous onslaught of tragedies that keep happening. On this song, I’m not trying to speak from a perspective of bias, I just can’t figure out why we can’t all do it together. We need to come together instead of pitting against one another. “Strangers” is the follow-up to Say Nothing’s lead single “History Of Violence,” which has already racked up more than 2 million collective streams, is currently #13 and rising at Active Rock Radio, and has been featured on key playlists across Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music, including Spotify’s New Music Friday. Telling a gripping story that turns the tables on domestic violence, the video for “History of Violence” illustrates a searing snapshot of a woman enduring an abusive husband as she plans to fight back, eventually ending up in jail but free of her abuser. Peeling back the layers of THEORY’s depth and breadth like never before, Say Nothing, recorded in London with producer Martin Terefe [Jason Mraz, Yungblud], is a continuation of their musical and thematic evolution, displaying the band’s powerful storytelling in full force and introducing fresh sounds and sonics. Ali Gatie Unveils Debut EP “You” With A Billion Streams Behind Him

22-year-old Toronto singer and songwriter Ali Gatie has released his highly anticipated debut project YOU via Warner Records. With over 870 million cumulative streams under his belt, Ali Gatie’s YOU arrives on the heels of his aptly titled YOU short film, showcasing gorgeous consecutive vignettes of songs from the full project.

Ali also released the official video for “Say To You” from the project last Friday, which has been viewed over a million times. The success of his RIAA Gold Certified track “It’s You,” which has been streamed over 590 million times, affirmed his innate ability to connect with a growing critical mass on a global scale. “It’s You” also earned platinum certification in Canada and Australia and gold certification in the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, New Zealand, Finland, and Switzerland.

2019 has been a monumental year for The Washboard Union.

The year could not have been scripted any better: two wins at the CCMA Awards – including Group or Duo of the Year for the second consecutive year – and becoming the first country band to ever win the Juno Award for Breakthrough Group of the Year; playing to over 200,000 fans from coast to coast in Canada, plus shows in France, Spain and the U.S.; and becoming staples at Canadian radio with a continuous flow of high-charting singles.

Today, the country trio opens a new chapter with the release of a brand new single, “Country Thunder.”

Clara Mae Premieres New Track “Unmiss You”

Swedish singer-songwriter Clara Mae returns today with “Unmiss You” – available now via Big Beat Records. Self-penned alongside Linnea Sodahl (Zara Larsson, Anne-Marie), Cassandra Ströberg (Felix Jaehn) and Daylight (Shawn Mendes, Fifth Harmony) the track is a glimmering heartbreak anthem that pairs Clara’s captivatingly smooth vocals with an upbeat bouncy instrumental.


“’Unmiss You’ is about wanting to erase all memories that you have with someone, even the beautiful ones, just to make the hurting stop” explained Clara of the track. “You wish you never met or fell for that person and never shared all those amazing moments – it would be so much easier.”

“Unmiss You” marks the third new release this year from Clara, following the Anton Rundberg-produced track “Lost” (which was featured on Entertainment Weekly’s summer pop playlist) and stunningly stripped back ballad “Loved You Once.” She also recently collaborated with Swedish artist JUNG for his single “Let Him Go” and toured in support of singer-songwriter Ella Vos in North America, in addition to European tours with singer-producer Alex Aiono and singer-songwriter Carlie Hanson.

2018 saw the release of Clara Mae’s debut EP Sorry For Writing All The Songs About You, which has amassed over 75 million worldwide streams thanks to standout tracks including “I’m Not Her” (praised as “a pop anthem” by Culture Collide),“I Forgot” (deemed “the perfect anthem” for running into an ex-flame by Refinery 29) & collaborative single “Better Me Better You” with Jake Miller (which the duo performed on the Elvis Duran Show and MTV’s TRL). Additionally, her stunning cover of Robyn’s “Call Your Girlfriend” has surpassed 15 million streams.

After spending years studying jazz vocals and piano in her small town of Gävle, Sweden, Clara Mae garnered attention by co-writing with the likes of David Guetta, Tiesto and Martin Jensen. Ella Henderson Releases Brand New EP ‘Glorious’

Having returned last month with her first solo material in four years, multi-platinum-selling, BRIT Award nominee Ella Henderson has unveiled her ‘Glorious’ EP, the first collection of songs since her UK Number 1 debut album ‘Chapter One’ in 2014.

The ‘Glorious’ EP is Ella’s first release on her new label, Atlantic / Major Toms / Asylum, to which she was signed by Rudimental having toured with the band for 18 months as a live vocalist. A deeply personal labour of love, Ella spent the past year writing and recording the ‘Glorious’ EP in London and LA, and the end result is a four-track record that encompasses her journey of self-acceptance and reflects on deeply personal life events, while also highlighting her renowned vocals, which saw her shoot to global stardom at the tender age of 18-years-old.

Having released two tracks from the EP already – ‘Glorious’ and ‘Young’, which have collectively amassed over five million streams so far – the collection includes two further offerings; delicate piano ballad ‘Hold On Me’ and the R&B infused ‘Friends’.

Alongside the release of her latest solo material, Ella has also racked up a further 11 million streams with ‘This Is Real’, a recent collaboration with hit maker Jax Jones, which features on his star-studded new album ‘Snacks (Supersize)’. The track has been playlisted at Radio 1 and is currently No.6 in the UK iTunes chart. Ella has also joined forces with chart-topping producer Sigala on his latest song ‘We Got Love’, which was penned alongside her label mate, Anne-Marie.

Canopy Growth Corporation and Drake are pleased to announce that they have entered into agreements to launch the More Life Growth Company, a fully licensed producer of cannabis based in Drake’s hometown of Toronto, Canada.

“When we first began talks with Drake we were extremely inspired by and aligned with his vision to bring best-in-class cannabis products to the world,” said Mark Zekulin, CEO, Canopy Growth Corporation. “Drake’s perspective as a culture leader and entrepreneur combined with Canopy Growth’s breadth of cannabis knowledge will allow our new company to bring an unmatched cannabis experience to global markets.”

Drake’s eclectic career includes experience across a wide variety of industries including music, television, film, fashion, sports, brand development, content curation and social and digital media strategy. Having launched numerous successful brands over the past decade, he is uniquely positioned to bring his innovative eye to the recreational cannabis industry.

In connection with the launch of the More Life brand, a previously wholly-owned subsidiary (the “More Life Growth Company”) of Canopy Growth, has issued shares to certain entities that are controlled by Drake (“Drake”). Following the issuance of the shares, Drake holds a 60% ownership interest in the More Life Growth Company, with Canopy Growth retaining a 40% ownership.
The More Life Growth Company is the beneficial owner of an entity licensed by Health Canada for the cultivation, processing and sale of cannabis at its production facility in Scarborough, Ontario (the “More Life Facility”).

Canopy Growth will continue to provide all of the day-to-day operations and maintenance of the More Life Facility and will retain all of the rights to distribute the product that is cultivated at the More Life Facility.

As consideration for the issuance of the shares of the More Life Growth Company, Drake has granted More Life Growth Company the right to exclusively exploit certain intellectual property and brands in association with the growth, manufacture, production, marketing and sale of cannabis and cannabis-related products, accessories, merchandise and paraphernalia in Canada and internationally. The maintenance of the non-Canada rights after 18 months is contingent upon certain performance criteria of the More Life Growth Company being met. The More Life Growth Company has sublicensed such rights in Canada to Canopy Growth in exchange for payments to be made by the Company on the sale of More LifeTM products, providing Canopy Growth with the exclusive rights to distribute More LifeTM products in Canada. In addition, Canopy Growth has the option to extend the terms and conditions of the sublicense into all international jurisdictions.

Canopy Growth and Drake have entered into a shareholders agreement, investor rights agreements, and various other ancillary agreements to govern the operations of the More Life Growth Company. In connection with these arrangements, Canopy Growth has the right to nominate two directors to the board of the More Life Growth Company as well as a pre-emptive right to maintain its ownership interest in the More Life Growth Company.
