Toronto/Montrealer Hip Hop Artist Rawmny Wildcat Lays Foundation for His “Legacy”

0

Canadian hip hop artist Rawmny Wildcat is laying the groundwork for his “Legacy” — releasing the first single off his forthcoming LP of the same name, available now.

The bright chord riffs on “Legacy” bring the track back to an 80s, near-vintage sound while carrying elements from the current state of trap. Produced alongside Nabil ‘Nabsolut’ Benmiloud, the song started as just an experiment when the two were jamming, and discussing dreams.

Speaking of experimenting, that “Legacy” would start that way mirrors how Rawmny Wildcat — pronounced ‘Raw Money’ and formerly known as Rasselas — first started; the Toronto-based rapper took to playing around with music after his family relocated to Montreal from Ethiopia.

Influenced by soul, Motown, 80s and 90s hip hop and traditional Ethiopian sounds, Wildcat took to the craft during his younger school years in the Canadian metropolis.

From there, Rawmny stayed no stranger to the grind; his love for music had him hitting the road in those early days, visiting local radio stations to meet the DJs. These connections would soon see him calling into K103FM to freestyle over the phone, and have Mike Mission and Ken Dog from CKUT 90.3FM take him under their wing, allowing him to freestyle on their show Masters at Work.

Beyond the station circuit, he headed a local traditional Ethiopian collective, Tis-Abay Band, and took on producing beats for Homegrown Records and its burgeoning roster.

His solo breakout project called Injera Music — named after his own newly-founded label — saw the hit single “Clap Your Hands” land with over 1,000,000 views, and counting.

“I use my music as an outlet to connect to the true emotions that come from the heart,” he says of his lyrics that land reflective of his life experience. “Conversant hip hop allows me to connect with my audience on a personal level.

“It’s all about being true to oneself, staying motivated, questioning the status quo, and living a healthy lifestyle.”

Rawmny Wildcat’s 2018 EP True Colors laid the groundwork for this mantra and then some, a full result audiences will receive in his forthcoming full-length.

“Legacy” is available now. Legacy is available January 2020.

George Michael’s brand new single This Is How (We Want You To Get High), Previously unreleased song is his first music to be shared since 2012

0

George Michael gave the world some of the greatest ever pop songs, including arguably the greatest ever Christmas record. Now, some 35 years on from the iconic Last Christmas, another festive treat has come for his millions of fans across the world.

This Is How (We Want You to Get High), co-written and co-produced by George Michael and collaborator James Jackman, is to be released by Virgin EMI after its first radio play at 8am on November 6.The previously unreleased track, which was recorded during George’s final studio sessions, is his first original material to be shared for seven years.

A funky, upbeat soon-to-be-classic, This is How (We Want You to Get High) has a seductive George Michael hook and melody that will delight his legion of loyal fans and electrify a whole new audience. The lyrics, written exclusively by George, see the star addressing society’s ills with his trademark blend of self-deprecation and wry humour.

Work on This is How (We Want You to Get High) began in early 2012.The track was subsequently developed and recorded in sessions at Air Studios in London, before the finishing touches were added in late 2015 during George’s final recording sessions.

With its uplifting vibe and socially-conscious message, This is How (We Want You to Get High)is a fitting finale to Last Christmas, Universal Pictures’ new romantic comedy. The film was inspired by the eponymous Wham! hit, and has a soundtrack featuring three Wham!tracks and twelve songs from George Michael’s solo career. Director Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, Mad Men) describes the movie as ‘a love letter to George’.

The film was co-scripted by Academy Award winner Emma Thompson, who stars alongside Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians). Thompson visited George at his North London home in the Spring of 2013 to talk through her ideas for the screenplay. George loved what she had to say and gave his blessing. The actress and screenwriter then developed various versions of the script before George’s sudden passing on Christmas Day 2016.

In the Spring of 2018, after discussions over which songs would be in the film, Emma Thompson was given an exclusive preview of four new, finished and unreleased George Michael tracks. She instantly fell in love with This Is How (We Want You To Get High), remarking how the lyrics resonated with the film’s central themes. The film Last Christmas will be released in the United States on 8 November 8, the United Kingdom on November 15 and on assorted dates throughout the rest of the world until 27 December. The Soundtrack will be released on November 8.

The Greatest Musicians Who Smoke Weed

0

It’s not a surprise that marijuana and music go together. This has always been the culture and history. Some globally renowned musicians have even attributed their craft to marijuana. They have praised weed for mind-expanding abilities. Others have even advocated for it publicly and created awareness about this herb and its abilities.

For some people, nothing feels better than listening to their favorite songs while smoking marijuana. That’s partly because they associate their favorite musicians with smoking weed. What’s more, the number of musicians who smoke weed is increasing. Here are some of the greatest musicians that are known to smoke marijuana.

Snoop Dogg

You’ve probably seen Snoop Dogg with a fashionable marijuana vaporizer on stage or somewhere else. In addition to smoking weed, this musician has rapped about the pleasure it brings. He did this even before weed was legalized anywhere in any capacity. Snoop Dogg has somehow made a smooth transition from an underground illegal marijuana business to the fully-legal, lucrative cannabis industry.

Since releasing a hit where he tells the audience to smoke weed whenever he tells them to do so, his fans have been smoking it while dancing to the beats. Snoop Dogg is known for lighting up and smoking in all his music videos. Almost everything about this musician is about smoking weed. He has invested in different weed-flavored media. These include a TV show, a website, and a book. He even has a brand of weed, Leafs by Snoop. It’s, therefore, not surprising that he has made it his source of revenue.

Willie Nelson

Willie Nelson may look like a grandpa to some people. However, he is among the boldest and oldest musicians that smoke weed. He is a country musician, poet, actor, and author that have led many people in advocating for the legalization of marijuana. Willie has been very vocal when it comes to the legality of cannabis. He is among the people that have had a major impact on music and weed matters.

Currently, weed is classified as Schedule 1 narcotic. That means it is categorized in the same class with drugs like cocaine, heroin, and other addictive, as well as, life-threatening substances. However, Willie has come out openly and said that weed should not be categorized with such drugs. He refers to it as a flower put here by God. According to Willie, cannabis is just a natural crop that grows from the ground.

Madonna

This is another great musician that has pioneered several movements including those advocating for weed. You may not have imagined seeing Madonna with the best vaporizer. However, she is among the greatest musicians of all time that smoke. Madonna has admitted that she smokes marijuana openly in several interviews. This musician says that weed enhances her creativity. She has admitted that she smokes weed often.

This musician has even admitted that somebody sent her a bong with a penis shape as her birthday present at one point. This outspoken entertainer is never shy when it comes to embracing a counter-culture. And, it’s very unlikely that anything will silence her anytime soon.

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga is a musical genius. This entertainer is tapping into the deepest part of her mind. She produces creative concepts that many people might not even dream of. This musician is truly a talented entertainer. But, how does she tap into her brain’s darkest corners? Well, the secret is marijuana.

Lady Gaga has admitted that she loves marijuana because it makes her forget that she is famous. She says that she forget this completely whenever she smokes weed. On taking a puff, she becomes herself in her 17. She goes back to her white go-go boots in the search for a job. She says that this feels liberating and it makes her more creative.

Photos of Lady Gaga with a weed vaporizer can easily be found online. Lady Gaga says that she smokes weed and drinks whiskey when she writes. However, she says that she doesn’t encourage kids to use drugs.

Bob Marley

There is no way Bob Marley can miss in the list of the greatest musicians who smoke weed. This legend is the king himself. He has the closest connection than all other musicians that smoke weed. For this musician, smoking weed was simply a lifestyle.

Marley was a Rastafarian. This is a religion where smoking marijuana is considered holy. To him, cannabis was a sacrament, a healing herb. This musician supported marijuana legalization because he considered it an “aid to medication”. It’s not surprising that Marley showed weed in his music. Many people remember this icon with the “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” mantra. And, smoking good weed is the best way to be happy. Bob Marley would undoubtedly agree to this.

Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix was a master guitarist. Many people knew him for his use of different drugs from the 60s to the 70s. So, it’s not surprising that he used to smoked weed. If he was alive today, there would be many photos of him puffing from the best marijuana vaporizer online. His impact on the cannabis culture led to naming a strain after him. The Jimi Hendrix strain is a hybrid Sativa that delivers energy and focus thereby feeding creativity.

Unfortunately, Jimi used excess harmful drugs leading to his death. He died of a barbiturate overdose. Nevertheless, many people remember him for leading the counter-culture movement.

Wiz Khalifa

Most people learned about this tattooed, skinny rapper in 2006. But, she has made a name as one of the greatest musicians who smoke weed over this time. This musician is never shy about the use of the best vaporizer for dry herb or smoking weed. However, he notes that marijuana might not work for everyone. Therefore, people should not ruin their lives trying to be like him.

The Bottom Line

Some of the greatest musicians smoke weed but their fans might not know. With the latest technological advancement, a musician can use the best portable vaporizer without being noticed. Some are even vaping before stepping on stage using small, devices that resemble USB.

10 Ways AI Changes the Business World

0

Technology and business walk hand in hand. The latest trends of the digital world find application in business landscape unavoidably. Today, artificial intelligence is not a fantastic plot anymore, so large entrepreneurs, as well as small companies, actively implement it into their work process. Business AI is focused on such aspects as fast and accurate insights about client behavior and the latest trends in the market. No need to say that such information gives one a serious superiority over competitors.

Every investor or entrepreneur looks for opportunities to increase income. That is why the discussion around artificial intelligence is extremely active. What are the changes that are waiting for us in the nearest future? Let’s reflect on this hot and exciting topic.

1.      More advanced marketing

When talking about artificial intelligence impact on business, the first thing to note is marketing. This technology improves advertisement strategies exponentially. First, AI allows real-time tracking of customers’ behavior. The automatic algorithms gather data about customers’ needs. As such, marketers can get complete information about the movements people make and the preferences they have.

2.      Improved customer experience

AI systems process the retrieved data and quickly determine if this or that product is in the potential need of a client. This way, offers and advertisements displayed on social media and other pages become more relevant. Customers receive information about discounts and new arrivals when opening their personal pages. As such, there are more chances that they will find and visit your website or come back for more services.

3.      Improved distributive trades

Retail business owners have to keep and track the inventory all the time. For both small and large companies, both are costly. That is why they are looking for opportunities to decrease them. AI technologies can keep everything in order, relieving entrepreneurs from the necessity to do everything manually and therefore – to spend additional money.

4.      Simple e-learning

One of the common problems companies face is a necessity to educate coworkers and adapt their skills to the special needs of a business. When learning something new, people usually face difficulties with understanding. Like students who are “looking for someone to write my essay” or comprehensible information online, they waste too much time and what is more – experience psychological issues. Being too shy or afraid to look incompetent, people avoid asking for colleagues’ help to the utmost. Artificial intelligence is faster than a web search since it can learn and store lumps of data. Using AI technologies, workers can ask the engine any questions and receive accurate responses.

5.      Better decision-making

Artificial intelligence allows automated decision-making that can solve thousands of different tasks. From marketing campaigns and business plans to employees’ productivity and KPI, AI can deal with various questions better than consultants and strategists. The so-called “human factor” is not an issue anymore, so the received data is more accurate and detailed.

6.      Solid digital security

Cybersecurity issues are solved easier with the help of AI technologies. The artificial intelligence can recognize the behavior that looks suspicious and prevents any online threats. What is more, AI can gather data and learn more about the possible dangers, improving its capabilities. However, at this point, we also need to keep in mind that hackers and cheaters also use AI technologies.

7.      Recruitment

There are various hiring strategies, but nobody knows which is the best one. Today, we follow a particular plan, tomorrow everything will change, and we will find another one. However, with AI, the process of hiring will definitely become easier and faster. The search algorithms can find perfect candidates automatically and therefore – save financial and time resources. Also, AI can hold video and audio interviews and evaluate candidate’s movements, facial expression, and voice to analyze psychological data.

8.      Constant customer support

We need to admit that artificial intelligence in business will unavoidably decrease the number of human employees. The chances are that chatbots will replace people completely. However, they will make customer support more efficient. Bots can stay online 24/7, respond in seconds, and learn to get more valuable data about customers.

9.      Results prediction

While AI can help you make better decisions, it also can predict potential outcomes of your actions. What is more, technology can create strategical patterns and build plans for you to follow. AI will choose the best option and help your income grow.

10. Efficient communication

Today we still use task managers to deal with projects. AI platforms will inevitably replace them in the shortest period. These platforms allow coworkers to communicate faster and discuss projects in real-time. Most tasks will be automated, which will reduce costs and eliminate unnecessary manual activity.

Conclusion

Artificial intelligence is something we should embrace. Of course, this technology will set aside the necessity to hire people for a large number of positions. At the same time, a higher degree of automation will reduce costs as well as provide faster and more accurate results. AI will help businesses to build better relationships with customers, make decisions and calculate outcomes, defend data and transactions, etc. It seems that companies that will choose to ignore AI in the nearest years won’t handle the competition against companies that use these innovative technologies. So if you are a business owner, you’d better start thinking about implementing AI in your strategies!

My Next Read: Blood: A Memoir by Allison Moorer

0

1986, Mobile, Alabama. A fourteen-year-old girl is awakened by the unmistakable sound of gunfire. On the front lawn, her father has shot and killed her mother before turning the gun on himself. Allison Moorer would grow up to be an award-winning musician, with her songs likened to “”a Southern accent: eight miles an hour, deliberate, and very dangerous to underestimate”” (Rolling Stone). Now, Allison turns her lyrical storytelling powers to recount the events leading up to the moment that forever altered her own life and that of her older sister, Shelby, with whom she shares an unbreakable bond. Gorgeously written, Blood delves into the meaning of inheritance and destiny, shame and trauma — and how it is possible to carve out a safe place in the world despite it all.

With a foreword by Grammy winner Shelby Lynne, Blood is a familial Just Kids that reads like an intimate journal — vivid, haunting, and ultimately life-affirming.
