OZZY OSBOURNE Announces Rescheduled “No More Tours 2” 2020 UK And European Dates

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has just announced rescheduled shows in the UK and Europe on his “NO MORE TOURS 2” tour.

The six-week trek–originally scheduled for January–now kicks off in OZZY’s native UK on October 23, 2020 before wrapping December 7 in Helsinki, Finland. The tour includes stops throughout the UK and sees the “Prince of Darkness” return to Birmingham for a hometown Halloween show. European dates include stops in Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Sweden and Finland. Judas Priest remain as Special Guest across all dates.

Says OZZY: “I can’t wait to get off my ass and get going again, but you’re just going to have to be a bit more patient. I want to be 100% ready to come out and knock your fucking socks off.”

No one, however, has examined the importance of spy technology, the Cold War and Carlos’s gender to this critically important innovation.

Through a postcolonial lens of feminist science and technology studies, Roshanak Kheshti engages in a reading of Carlos’s music within this gendered context. By focusing on Switched-On Bach (the highest selling classical music recording of all time), this book explores the significance of gender to the album’s–and, as a result, the Moog synthesizer’s–phenomenal success.

Today, Heaven’s Door Spirits, which produces an ever-evolving collection of American whiskeys in collaboration with Bob Dylan, announces the first expression of its limited edition Bootleg Series, a rare 26-year old whisky finished in Japanese Mizunara Oak barrels. This first release, dubbed Volume 1 of the Bootleg Series, is both a celebration of the creative spirit of Bob Dylan and the craft of fine whiskey at its best. Offered in hand-made ceramic bottles featuring one of Bob Dylan’s best-known paintings, Train Tracks, this 2019 Edition comes beautifully housed in a uniquely designed and individually numbered collectible leather journal.

The 2019 edition of the Bootleg Series gives nuance to this whisky through a secondary aging in Mizunara Oak barrels, resulting in a distinctive and supple flavor profile. Stingray will support National Music Centre with a $525K contribution for classical music residencies at Studio Bell

The National Music Centre in Calgary, Alberta, will receive a $525,000 contribution from Stingray over the next seven years to support a classical music residencies at Studio Bell.

Several artists have already been selected to help launch the program over the second half of 2019. They include Montreal-based post-classical pianist Jean-Michel Blais, celebrated Calgary flautist Jiajia Li, and Edmonton musician Anders Muskens, who specializes in historical keyboards.

As previously announced, Montreal-based Jean-Michel Blais will be in residence at Studio Bell this summer, though his residency will now fall under the Stingray Classical stream. Blais will present an intimate workshop backstage in Studio Bell’s recording studios, illuminating his personal philosophy of improvisation on July 29 at 7:00 pm. Blais landed on the Polaris Music Prize Short List in 2018 for his sophomore record Dans ma main, an expansive album of post-classical piano music that blends his classical skill and precise pop sensibility with synthetic accompaniment. “I was able to preview the National Music Centre’s collection during a visit to Studio Bell in 2018,” said Blais. “To say that I was inspired by the breadth and depth of what was housed in the building is an understatement. I may not sleep during my time there.”

Born in Beijing and now based in Calgary, flautist Jiajia Li is a prize winner of the “Prinzessin Margaret von Hessen” competition (Germany), and three-time scholarship recipient from Banff Centre. As a soloist, Li has performed at the Calgary New Music Festival, Edmonton Art Festival “The Works”, Sled Island, and with the Kensington Sinfonia. Li will use her time in residence to record a new EP. She will perform a public workshop in December at Studio Bell. More details will be announced soon. “I’m super excited to explore NMC’s instrument collection and experiment with adding unique sounds to my music,” she said.

Edmonton’s Anders Muskens specializes in historical performance on keyboard instruments from the 18th and early 19th century—namely the forte-piano, harpsichord, clavichord, and organ. NMC will present an in-studio experience with the forte-piano master on October 25, 2019 at 1:00 pm. “NMC has a lovely collection of originals and replicas of historic instruments,” said Muskens. “I am really looking forward to showcasing the truly special sound that these instruments create: these are the sounds that inspired Bach, Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven—and are vastly different from modern instruments.”
