Keith Urban Ends His Tour, Drops a Deluxe Album, and Hits TV Screens With ‘The Road’

0

There’s a lot happening this weekend for four-time GRAMMY Award winner Keith Urban; tonight’s finale of his “HIGH AND ALIVE WORLD TOUR” (at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville), today’s release of the HIGH deluxe edition and Sunday’s premiere of the new CBS Original THE ROAD in which Urban stars.

Urban marks the finale of his “HIGH AND ALIVE WORLD TOUR” with a deluxe edition of HIGH. Along with the studio recordings from HIGH, the deluxe edition features six live versions of songs originally recorded for HIGH, including “Straight Line,” “Go Home W U,” originally recorded with Lainey Wilson, and “HIGH AND ALIVE WORLD TOUR” standouts “Heart Like A Hometown” and “Messed Up As Me.”  Two additional songs, performed on select nights, “Laughin’ All The Way To The Drank” and “Chuck Taylors,” also appear on the deluxe set.

Sunday sees the CBS Television Network premiere of THE ROAD (9:00 PM – 10:30 PM, ET/PT), executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton, David Glasser, Lee Metzger and Urban, who also serves as the series’ headlining superstar.  THE ROAD follows 12 musicians performing at concert venues across the country as Urban’s opening act, competing for a grand prize that includes a performance slot at a record deal, $250,000 and a performance slot at the Stagecoach Music Festival.  Gretchen Wilson acts as the series “tour manager,” and Urban is joined throughout the season by executive producer Blake Shelton and country music stars Jordan Davis, Karen Fairchild, Dustin Lynch and Brothers Osborne, who guide these seasoned musicians, and along with a live venue audience, determine who advances to the next city.

The Last Dinner Party Rise From The Flames With Their Fiery Second Album ‘From The Pyre’

0

The Last Dinner Party are excited to share their second album, “From The Pyre”. The album is out today via Island Records.

The London five-piece headed into the studio early 2025 with Grammy Award winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Bjork) to start work on the follow-up to their number 1 debut album, 2023’s Prelude to Ecstasy. From The Pyre is the sound of a band having a lot of fun rather than feeling any innate pressure to follow-up on what was an explosively successful debut record. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, as tight a unit as the endless months out on the road pay testament to.

The Last Dinner Party on From The Pyre:

“This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of album-as-mythos binds them. ‘The Pyre’ itself is an allegorical place in which these tales originate, a place of violence and destruction but also regeneration, passion and light.

“The songs are character driven but still deeply personal, a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme. Being ghosted becomes a Western dance with a killer, and heartbreak laughs into the face of the apocalypse. Lyrics invoke rifles, scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. We found this kind of evocative imagery to be the most honest and truthful way to discuss the way our experiences felt, giving each the emotional weight it deserves.”

“This record feels a little darker, more raw and more earthy; it takes place looking out at a sublime landscape rather than seated an opulent table. It also feels metatextual and cheeky in places, like a knowing look reflected back at ourselves.”

With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Breakthrough Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they played right across the globe (including three sold-out hometown shows at London’s Eventim Apollo), The Last Dinner Party’s arrival and subsequent worldwide success was one of the most thrilling introductions to a new British band in decades, and From The Pyre’s opening introduction suggests that unparalleled success story shows no signs of relenting.

Neil Young’s ‘Tonight’s The Night’ Shines Again With 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

0

There are certain albums meant to make a difference. Even before they’re released into the world, the way they are inspired and then brought to life feel meant to be. And, in 1975, when Neil Young released TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT it was definitely foretold. Young had been recording with new-edge musicians and had written songs that become lifelong inspirations.

Recorded in 1973 on analog tape, it was released two years later and has since been regarded as one of Neil’s masterpieces. To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the album, six bonus tracks have been added to this limited edition release of one of Young’s truly inspirational releases.

Many unique additions have been gathered to create the definitive edition of what many have called the third and final installment of the “The Ditch Trilogy.” 1975 was a historical time, and the album reflects that. These were turbulent times which saw the end of the Vietnam War, a new president in the White House but nothing would affect Young more than the untimely and tragic passing of two close friends, original Crazy Horse guitarist/vocalist Danny Whitten and devoted road crew member Bruce Berry. In so many ways, Neil Young’s music fifty years later is still growing from all that was inspired from the time of TONIGHT’S THE NIGHT. It’s a feeling and knowledge was opened up from the songs of the album.

The 50th Anniversary Deluxe limited edition will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally. A clear vinyl format is available at Greedy Hand Store and indie retailers. The original artwork has been creatively reimagined for this limited edition release.

Included on the new anniversary release are unreleased original versions of “Lookout Joe” and “Walk On,” both recorded during the original 1973 album sessions at S.I.R. in Los Angeles. “Lookout Joe” replaces the original released album version that was recorded at Young’s Broken Arrow Studio and subsequently included in Tonight’s the Night original release. Both “Lookout Joe” and “Walk On” fit like a glove with the original TTN releases, recorded in the same sessions and have the same vibe. There are also five bonus tracks on the 50TH ANNIVERSARY edition: These versions of “Lookout Joe”, “Walk On,” and “Tonight’s The Night” (Take 3) have never been released. “Everybody’s Alone,” “Raised on Robbery” (featuring Joni Mitchell,) and “Speakin’ Out” Jam appeared in NEIL YOUNG ARCHIVES VOL II,  while the unreleased TTN version of “Wonderin’’ from the same sessions has only ever been available to stream on NYA. This is the first time all six bonus tracks from the original sessions have been available on vinyl, making this the most cohesive and true version of “Tonight’s The Night”.

In Young’s unique career path, all these recordings from such an exciting period of his career and rock & roll itself were opening up new abilities to expand the music, looking towards the future as well as celebrating the past. It was a period for change, even in its earliest adventures.

Destin Conrad Brings Digital Love and Real Feels on His North American Tour

0

GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter DESTIN CONRAD announces his LOVE ON DIGITAL North American headline tour, promoted by Live Nation, in support of his debut album LOVE ON DIGITAL, out now via EMPIRE. Rising R&B standout Mark Keane will join as support throughout the tour.

DESTIN recently released his highly anticipated debut album, LOVE ON DIGITAL, out now via EMPIRE. Across a collection of smooth, R&B-rooted tracks, DESTIN reframes the modern love story–one shaped by FaceTime calls, voice notes, time zones, and touchscreens. With features from Kehlani, Lil Nas XTeezo Touchdown, and serpentwithfeet, DESTIN blends early Y2K nostalgia with next-gen production, unpacking what it means to seek connection in a digital-first world, weaving humor, heartbreak, and vulnerability into every hook. Listen HERE.

Capturing both the thrill and fragility of intimacy in the digital age, the focus track, “BAD BITCHES” featuring Kehlani, is an unapologetic anthem that channels desire, freedom, and self-love. In the accompanying video, DESTIN and Kehlani hit the strip club with friends, turning up, and letting go—having the type of fun that feels effortless, real, and loud with joy. Watch HERE.

That spirit carries through the rest of LOVE ON DIGITAL, which pulls influence from the nostalgic textures of early-2000s R&B while leaning into its future-facing evolution. On “KISSING IN PUBLIC,” he delivers a queer love anthem wrapped in playful choreography and fashion-forward visuals, gliding through city streets in a celebration of romance in full view. “DELUSIONAL” simmers with longing for someone just out of reach, while “THE LAST TIME” featuring Teezo Touchdown paints the emotional tug-of-war of a relationship that won’t quit, even when both know it should. Each track peels back a layer–setting the stage for a body of work that’s both personal and universally felt. LOVE ON DIGITAL, with its diaristic tone and cinematic feel, offers a raw look at a relationship that bloomed entirely online, and the hard truth that even the strongest signals can still fade. Throughout his debut album, DESTIN takes full ownership of his narrative, stepping into the spotlight as one of R&B’s most essential voices.

LOVE ON DIGITAL marks a major milestone for the rising R&B star, debuting at #3 on Apple Music’s R&B/Soul Albums chart and #7 on Spotify’s U.S. albums chart, garnering 10M streams the first week alone and currently sits at over 31M streams since its initial release. The project has sparked a wave of attention across music and media, earning him cover stories with Spotify’s RNBX Magazine (April 2025) and Yams Magazine (June 2025), alongside standout features with BillboardEssenceEBONY, and Apple Music’s Nadeska. He recently took the stage for a COLORS performance of “MAKE IT UP” and sat down for a nationally televised interview with ABC News Live, further expanding his reach. Known for his smooth vocals and emotionally candid songwriting, DESTIN is in a defining moment–stepping into his breakout year with style, clarity, and cultural presence.

Raised in Tampa, Florida, DESTIN first rose to prominence on Vine before making his official entry into music. His songwriting credits on Kehlani’s Billboard No. 2 album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t set the stage for his own breakout. In 2021, he dropped his debut project COLORWAY (now with over 120M streams), followed by 2022’s SATIN, and hit the road touring with Syd and Kehlani.

2023 marked his first headlining tour across Europe and the UK, with sold-out stops in AmsterdamParis, and threeconsecutive nights in London. In 2024, he followed up with the dual projects SUBMISSIVE and SUBMISSIVE 2, playing 47 shows across the US, EU, and UK. Over the past year, he’s earned features in BillboardEssenceVIBE,The FADER, and a digital cover with Gay Times—solidifying his place as one of R&B’s most magnetic new voices.

Ed Sheeran Unites Worlds With ‘Play – The Remixes’ EP and His Global Dream Team

0

Fresh off the success of his ninth UK No. 1 album Play, Ed Sheeran further broadens his sonic horizons with the release of Play – The Remixes EP (listen here). Leading the charge is “Symmetry”, a hypnotic, beat-driven track featuring acclaimed Punjabi artist Karan Aujla. The accompanying official video, directed by Liam Pethick, showcases a high-energy performance by Ed, Karan, and globally renowned dance crew The Quick Style.

Play – The Remixes EP finds Ed Sheeran reimagining four tracks from his original Play album through dynamic collaborations with some of South Asia’s most celebrated talents, including HanumankindDhee, Santhosh NarayananKaran AujlaJonita, and Arijit Singh. The EP’s vibrant soundscape is further shaped by producers ILYAJohnny McDaidSavan KotechaFRED, and Elvira Anderfjärd

The project was born out of Sheeran’s transformative, month-long stay in India, where he immersed himself in the country’s rich musical landscape while recording Play. During this time, he discovered and connected with many of the EP’s collaborators through the artists he was working with – among them Arijit Singh, with whom Sheeran teamed up with on the half-a-billion-streaming global hit “Sapphire”.

Sheeran previously hinted at the EP during an interview with Nikita Kanda on BBC Asian Network. The resulting release is a vibrant fusion of global sounds and artistic exchange; a borderless celebration of global creativity that sees Ed Sheeran sharing spaces and voices in the spirit of collaboration.

Ed Sheeran says – “Making and finishing Play in India was such a fun experience. Being there over the last decade through touring, I’ve met lots of local artists along the way, and I’ve been introduced to all types of music and cultures. I’ve loved this collaboration process so much and I wanted to represent as much as I could on this EP, so here’s a little track-by-track rundown:

“Symmetry” featuring Karan Aujla

“Karan is culture, and I love the movement he’s making with Ikky at the moment. It’s been so cool watching the thing he’s built and becoming a part of that world and journey. He taught me the Punjabi parts on this song in the studio, and we got to shoot an amazing video for it. I feel like this is the beginning of our collaborative journey, and I’m so excited to create more.”

“Dont Look Down” featuring Hanumankind, Dhee & Santhosh Narayanan

“I loooove Hanumankind and got the opportunity to meet him at Coachella and catch his show. I was obsessed with the energy and feel of it all. We connected then and we have since been speaking about working together, then this idea came up. Santhosh is one of the greatest film composers and introduced me to Dhee who is such an amazing talent and voice. I wanted to represent South India on this EP and the beautiful Tamil language, and they have done such an amazing job in fusing it together.”

“Sapphire” featuring Arijit Singh

“Everyone already knows the story to this but going to Jiaganj Azimganj with my dad to create this with Arijit is one of my favourite memories in my musical career.”

“Heaven” featuring Jonita

“I met Jonita 2024 when I played in Mumbai and then got to do some shows with her the following year when I came back for tour. In short, I’m a fan. I love her voice, the tone, the softness. This was the perfect tune for us to do together and it’s also the first Hindi song I have released. It’s an honour to do it with her – what a talent.”

Upon its release, Play stormed to No.1 across the world, topping charts in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Germany, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland, and the UK.

Car Seat Headrest Plug Back In and Blaze Through ‘The Scholars’ at KEXP

0

Back in the KEXP studio, Car Seat Headrest sound hungrier and sharper than ever. With their new album The Scholars marking a return to gritty guitars and emotional chaos, Will Toledo and the crew ripped through four tracks that feel both raw and reborn. “Lady Gay Approximately” swelled, “Gethsemane” burned, and “Planet Desperation” reminded us why indie rock still matters. It’s messy, melodic, and completely alive.

Tame Impala Go Unplugged for NPR’s Tiny Desk

0

When Kevin Parker’s team said “all acoustic,” he really meant it. Tame Impala, the kings of reverb and psychedelic sheen, stripped it all away for NPR’s Tiny Desk and somehow sounded even bigger. “Loser” shimmered, “Dracula” soared, and Parker’s falsetto cut straight through the quiet like sunlight through fog. It’s the sound of a band discovering that less can still feel limitless.

How Emerging Artists Can Navigate the Modern Music Industry

0

By Mitch Rice

The music industry has transformed greatly in the last two decades. They have seen the growth of digital streaming services, social media, and online marketing, which in turn has given up-and-coming artists a world stage to present their material. But with great change also comes great challenge, which in turn requires knowledge, strategy, and perseverance to overcome. In this article they will look at what key strategies emerging artists can use to do well in the present-day music industry.

Understanding the Industry Landscape

Before jumping into promotion and audience building, artists must first research the business environment. The music industry today is not what it used to be, which is to say run almost exclusively by the major record labels. Independent artists now have access to tools for the distribution, promotion, and monetization of their music, which they do not have to go through traditional industry gatekeepers for. They see platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube, which artists use to reach millions of listeners worldwide. Also, they have social media players like Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter, which artists use to connect with fans directly.

Also, they see that present-day technology such as text-to-speech APIs, which artists are using to put out audio versions of their blogs, interviews, or promotional material at great speed, in turn makes it easy to get to audiences that prefer to listen instead of read. Also, these tools open up new fields in podcasting, audio marketing, and fan engagement.

However, in that which they are seeing from the increase in democracy in this space, they see that thousands of songs are put out daily, which in turn makes it very important for artists to present a unique sound, tell great stories, and also very much engage with their audience.

Building a Strong Personal Brand

A personal brand is very important for an artist that wants to stand out. What you present as a brand includes your music style and also your look and public image. It’s a story which you tell to your audience and the industry of who you are, what your all about, and why they should pay attention to what you do.

In creating your personal brand pay attention to:

  1. Find your sound: Figure out what really makes your music yours, and stick with it. People notice when you’re genuine.
  2. Keep your visuals tight, too: Make your album covers, your social media, and all your promo stuff look like they belong together. It helps people recognize you right away.
  3. Don’t be shy about sharing your story: Talk about what drives you, what matters to you, the stuff that inspires your songs. That’s how you really reach people.
  4. And don’t sleep on new tools: Turn your written words into audio with Text-to-Voice API services. It’s an easy way to get your work in front of more people, especially those who prefer listening over reading.

Leveraging Social Media and Digital Marketing

Social media has transformed into the primary platform for music promotion. Artists use these channels to put out new material, report on tours, and also connect with fans in real time. Out of which, TikTok has proved to be that which puts music viral, and Instagram that which best presents a visual story of what is going on behind the scenes and of artists’ personal lives.

Also, in terms of social media, they have email newsletters, playlist pitching, and working with influencers, which is what they see for artists’ expansion. As for analytics tools, they are very valuable, which they use to determine audience demographics, listening trends, and engagement, which in turn they use to make informed promotion decisions.

Networking and Collaboration

In the music industry relationships are key. They have to network with other musicians, producers, managers, and media professionals, which in turn presents them with opportunities that may not present themselves to them otherwise. Also, in terms of collaboration with other artists, not only do they expand their fan base, but they also grow creatively from being exposed to different styles and techniques.

Attending trade shows, taking part in workshops, and getting involved in online communities are great ways to build your network. Also it is in the mix that they develop lasting and productive connections that are based on mutual respect and shared goals.

Understanding the Business Side

While in the core of music is creativity, what they find is also of great importance is the business side of it. Up-and-coming artists should get to know contracts, royalties, publishing rights, and licensing agreements. Many artists they see fall into what are very common problems, such as signing what in fact are poor deals, or they ignore copyright protections that in the long term prove to be very risky.

Also at times it is a good idea to get professional input. A great music lawyer or manager may put you in good stead by giving you advice, which in turn protects your work and also helps you out with complex agreements in the industry.

Staying Resilient and Adaptable

The music business is a very unpredictable field. Trends break out and then fade away, platforms which used to be the norm are replaced by new ones and what fans want changes very quickly. Which artists do well are the ones that don’t give up when the going gets tough, that can weather rejection, criticism, or periods of slow growth. Also very important is an artist’s ability to adapt; they have to be willing to try out new approaches, learn from what doesn’t work and improve their game constantly.

Final Thoughts

Emerge from the shadows into a world which presents an array of tools and opportunities for your music. By studying the industry, crafting a robust personal brand, using digital platforms to your advantage, smartly networking, handling the business side of things well, and including in your arsenal modern tools such as Text-to-Voice API’s artists may not just weather the storm but excel in today’s tough climate. As it stands there are still issues to be dealt with but the mix of talent, strategy and perseverance is the path to long term success.
