Kaleb Hikele Takes Folk-Rock to Dreamland with Tender New Single “Slowly”

0

Canadian musical artist Kaleb Hikele just released his new single, “Slowly.” The song is a calm and emotional folk-rock song that will be part of his upcoming solo album Storytelling. The track has a steady, rhythmic flow and a soft dreamlike feel. Hikele’s character-rich vocals and smooth production make it a song you can drift away on while listening to.

Recorded at Catherine North Studios, “Slowly” has a special meaning for Hikele. He wrote it for his partner Jess back in 2016, describing it as “a handwritten letter to myself, narrating the early stages of falling in love while it’s happening.” He played and sang every part himself, calling the album “my whole heart.”

The song’s lyrics reflect on love and life. Lyrics like “Back to the earth I will go as you bury me” and “Love is a mystery, and life is a question of hope” give the song a thoughtfully peaceful, accepting tone. It feels like a goodbye, but one filled with warmth and calm.

Following his 12th album My Mind Is Like a Radio, and a 73-date tour across Ontario, “Slowly” showcases Hikele in his most honest and heartfelt creative state. It’s a quiet reminder to slow down and appreciate the beauty in every ending.

Ger Eaton Blooms, Falls, and Rises Again with Lush Renaissance Pop Album ‘Season Changes’

0

Well known in his homeland thanks to a string of brilliant singles, Irish bard par excellence Ger Eaton is back with a large dose of Renaissance Pop. Finally, he will be releasing his long-awaited debut album ‘Season Changes’ via Dimple Discs, a Peckham-based label that has championed many Irish artists. In the home-stretch before its release, he shares the singles ‘Hollow’ and ‘The Time It Takes To Fall’.

Ger Eaton is the singer and sonic auteur behind a remarkable and acclaimed set of songs, released as singles over the past two years, both on his own imprint and by enterprising indie label Dimple Discs, who spotted a good thing and snapped him up. An artist who has graced many a stage, his distinctive keyboards have graced many Irish bands of the last two decades.

With a rich progression from baroque pop and cinematic balladry to more folk elements, Eaton creates music that is laced with broad orchestral arrangements, drama, and honesty. Complimenting the video for his recent single ‘Season Changes’, a live rendition of ‘Phoenix (Reborn)’ and ‘Season Changes’ was also recorded live at Hyde Dublin.

“‘Season Changes’ is essentially an old fashioned break-up LP. All of the songs deal with the complexities, both emotional and physical, that come with the ending of a very long and significant relationship. Mirroring the seasons, ‘Season Changes’ charts the often inevitable decay of a relationship, from the glowing bloom of its Spring, gradually ebbing away to its wintery conclusion,” says Ger Eaton.

“The songs were written about and recorded during the end of my marriage, and I decided from the off that the Lyrics would be raw and honest… I felt I owed that much to myself. Musically, I wanted the arrangements and instrumentation to bring a lushness and drama that would wrap the words in the appropriate Musical Cloak …For me, music has always been a place where I can both lose and find myself… a Solice … my Phoenix.”

Beginning with ‘I Thought I’d A Friend’ and continuing through the beautiful ‘Hollow’, ‘The Time It Takes To Fall’, ‘Phoenix (Reborn)’, ‘Home Again’ and the most recent single ‘Season Changes’, Ger’s work carries echoes of Scott Walker, Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Ian Brown and the high melodic heyday of the late 1960s, yet shot through with a contemporary slant and edge.

Each new song and accompanying video has marked an exciting stage in Ger’s progress and has received recognition and tremendous support from national and regional radio programmers in his native Ireland and also in the UK, as well as music writers and tastemakers.

On October 17th, the ‘Season Changes’ album will be released on vinyl and CD. It will also be available from digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and also Bandcamp

On October 23rd, Ger Eaton and his 11-piece band take the stage at The National Concert Hall in Dublin, with support  from Andrew Keeling & vocalist Toni Kay.  Tickets can be ordered at https://www.nch.ie/all-events-listing/metronome-ger-eaton-oct25

Jackson Dean Flips the Switch on Small-Town Dreams with Country Rocker “Turn On The Lights”

0

Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Jackson Dean tells a story of youth, escapism and dreams in his new track “Turn On The Lights” via Big Machine Records. Set in small-town America, the song follows Billy, a talented high school football player who lives for Friday nights out on the field. His at-home life is nothing significant, but for 48 minutes each week in the fall, he has the opportunity to feel the warm glow of the spotlight shining down on his face, filling him with purpose and pride.

“‘Turn On The Lights’ is about when it’s time to flip the switch – it’s all or nothing when the lights are on,” shares Dean. “Whether on the field or on the stage, I know that feeling well, and it was fun to try and capture it within the song.”

Written by Dean alongside producer and frequent collaborator Luke Dick and award-winning songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon, “Turn On The Lights” is anchored by booming percussion that builds excitement and suspense for the idea of a future that’s rich with possibility and untarnished by harsh realities. Dean’s gritty, gravel-toned voice echoes with emotion and nostalgia-filled reminiscence that elicits flash visions of memorable moments frozen in time. At its core, “Turn On The Lights” is a story about the passions that provide us solace from life’s hardships and the dreams born in water tower towns that stretch far beyond city limits.

Dean’s new song embodies the spirit and unmatched energy of T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights game-changing national competition, returning for its second year to give high schools in small towns across the country a spotlight and a chance to win $4 million in prizes for their schools.

As his current top 20-and-climbing single “Heavens To Betsy” continues to soar up the charts, Dean also released the sultry “Be Your Man” earlier this year. The track marked the first page of an exciting new chapter for the rising singer/songwriter, expanding to new territory both sonically and lyrically from his September 2024-released sophomore album On The Back Of My Dreams.

This summer, he is touring coast to coast, playing various fairs and festivals. On September 13th, he will headline Yellowstone and Landman creator Taylor Sheridan’s inaugural Bosque Ranch Live concert at his ranch in Weatherford, Texas. In addition, Dean will act as direct support for Lee Brice this fall on select dates of his What You Know About That Tour before bringing his highly successful headlining On The Back Of My Dreams World Tour to Australia and New Zealand.

Black Veil Brides Return With Explosive New Single “Hallelujah” From Upcoming Album

0

On the heels of a successful tour alongside BabyMetal, Black Veil Brides are back with their first piece of new music since 2024’s chart-topping single “Bleeders.” The band — comprised of vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma — return to their roots with the aggressive new track “Hallelujah.” The Tampa, Florida-based choir “One Voice Ensemble” also lent their talents to the recording. The song is being released by their label partners Spinefarm and was produced by Biersack and Pitts.

“‘Hallelujah’ is an important song for us, not only because it is the first track from the new record, but also as a signifier of what’s to come for the band. On a narrative level, it represents the themes and ideas I am exploring lyrically on the album. I am fascinated by the current state of discourse and how often we seem to prioritize ideological certainty over the heart and soul of humanity. Over the years, we have developed a tremendous connection with our audience, which is often dismissed or misinterpreted by the ‘scene.’ We stand at a unique inflection point culturally and I want to be able to speak openly about how much I believe in being true to yourself over the fear of mass hysteria or in-group recriminations,” explains Biersack. “When my grandfather’s voice spoke to ‘the outcasts’ in the first moments of our first record in 2010, it was a sincere call to arms for all those who feel different. In many ways this record is the natural evolution of that same idea. This is the heaviest and most vitriolic BVB record by far but more importantly I believe it is the most sincere and honest record we have ever made.”

To coincide with the new single, Black Veil Brides are releasing an animated video for “Hallelujah.” The video is directed by Marco Pavone (The Black Dahlia Murder, Pink Floyd, Shadow of Intent). The band will continue to release more visual content over the coming months to support the new song. A teaser for the track got fans in a frenzy when it was released last week.

The band will also be touring in support of the new single. The song will make its live performance debut at Warped Tour in Long Beach, California, on July 26th. Black Veil Brides will also be making appearances at several high-profile US music festivals before heading to South America for six headline shows. The We Missed Ourselves Tour 2025 will also feature Underoath, Silverstein, Senses Fail, and I Set My Friends On Fire.

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah Announce Intimate ‘Piano & Voice’ North American Tour

Clap Your Hands Say Yeah will follow their hugely successful 20th anniversary full band world tour with a very special North American headline run offering a “more naked” perspective on singer-songwriter Alec Ounsworth’s utterly original body of work.

“Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Piano & Voice” gets underway after a sold-out run in Europe on January 15, 2026, in Boston, MA, and then visits intimate venues in major markets across the continent through mid-February.

Tickets for all announced dates are on sale now. An extremely limited black and white splatter vinyl edition of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s Bootleg Series Vol. 1 – Piano & Voice Live at Servant Jazz Quarters, recorded in London, will be available online and at shows while supplies last.

“Essentially, this is an opportunity for me to put forward my songs for Clap Your Hands in their starkest form,” says Alec Ounsworth. “After having done shows in this form in Europe, this will be the first round of shows of this kind in the United States. Doing the material in this way has been a chance to connect with the work on an intimate and new (but familiar) level. Be ready for some raw emotion – precisely what I, for one, need at the moment. Please join me for these special, small shows.”

In the meantime, the milestone world tour commemorating the 20th anniversary of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s landmark self-titled debut album resumes later this month with a series of eagerly awaited headline dates in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. The wide-ranging trek sees Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – currently comprising Ounsworth, Todd Erk (bass, synth), Jonas Oesterle (drums), and Ben Collins (guitar, keys, lights) – performing the classic 2005 album in its entirety. The band has already spent much of this past year celebrating Clap Your Hands Say Yeah with sold-out and ecstatically received shows across the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Ireland, France, and the United Kingdom.

The Wood Brothers to Celebrate Two Decades With a Return to the Ryman

0

The Wood Brothers will return to Nashville’s storied Ryman Auditorium on March 5, 2026, marking their fifth time headlining the landmark venue. The Grammy-nominated trio will perform in support of their newest album, Puff of Smoke, and in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their debut, Ways Not to Lose.

They’ll be joined by The Luckiest Horns, with additional guests to be announced. Tickets go on sale beginning Thursday, October 16, at 10 a.m. Central Time via artist pre-sale, followed by a venue pre-sale at noon and general on-sale Friday, October 17, at 10 a.m.

“It’s always a special honor to play the Ryman,” said Oliver Wood. “Knowing the history and having seen shows there, we understand the reverence of fans and artists alike, and appreciate the intimacy and vibe of this magical room.”

For the band, the Ryman holds particular resonance. Nashville has long served as their creative anchor, dating back to 2013, when they recorded The Muse at Zac Brown’s Southern Ground Studios. Not long after, Oliver and Chris Wood moved to the city, followed by Jano Rix. Their subsequent work has been shaped at The Studio Nashville, which they affectionately call their “creative clubhouse.”

While Chris Wood has since relocated to the Vancouver area and Rix to Vermont, Oliver remains in Nashville, where the group continues to write, rehearse and record.

The Wood Brothers are currently touring behind Puff of Smoke, their ninth studio release, an 11-track collection that finds optimism amid uncertainty. Songs such as “Witness” and “The Trick” reflect the band’s grounding in meditation and mindfulness, offering reminders of the impermanence—and beauty—of the moment.

The album has drawn praise from outlets including The Bluegrass Situation, Relix, and DownBeat. MOJO commended its “restless music mix that’s unpredictable and big on swing,” while Uncut hailed its songwriting as “witty and incisive.”

Following a run of festival and headline dates this summer, the band will embark on a broad fall tour beginning November 6 in Knoxville, Tennessee, before heading through the Midwest and Northeast. Stops include the Pantages Theatre in Minneapolis, Chicago’s Riviera Theatre, Brooklyn Paramount in New York, and the United Theatre in Westerly, Rhode Island.

Biohazard Return With Explosive New Single “Fuck the System” From Upcoming Album ‘Divided We Fall’

0

Brooklyn hardcore legends Biohazard are excited to announce Divided We Fall, their first studio album in over a decade, out October 17th via BLKIIBLK. Reuniting the original lineup, the album delivers a blistering statement of unity in chaos. To celebrate the announcement, Biohazard has released a new single, “Fuck the System,” which is accompanied by a music video available below.

“‘Fk the System’ is Biohazard calling it like it is. The powers that be have us at odds and beefin’ with each other while they sit back and cash in. It’s no accident the world’s burnin’ in front of our eyes. It’s all divide and control – while they keep us divided by politics, class, race, all of it, and have us out here fighting each other, they’re pulling the strings. ‘Fk the System’ is our war cry about the state of the world with no sugarcoated bullshit,” says vocalist/guitarist Billy Graziadei.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Hatebreed, Deftones), the album captures Biohazard at their most raw, relentless, and unifying. The album blends the band’s unmistakable fusion of hardcore, metal, and streetwise groove with a sharpened edge for a fractured modern world, delivering a powerful reminder of why Biohazard remains one of the most vital and influential bands in heavy music.

Recording sessions took place at Shorefire Recording Studios in Long Branch, NJ, and The Hydeaway in Van Nuys, CA, with engineering by Joseph DeMaio and additional recording from Matt Hyde. Guitar and production tech duties were handled by Phil Caivano.

Biohazard’s upcoming release via BLKIIBLK marks a new chapter in a storied career that began in the late ’80s, one defined by aggressive sound, socially conscious lyrics, and an unwavering commitment to their roots.

Biohazard will be on their Divided We Fall Tour this fall with support from Onyx, Bayway, and Swollen Teeth, including a homecoming show at the Warsaw in Brooklyn on October 28th.

Captain Kaiser Roar Back With Anthemic New Single “Dancefloor” From Album ‘Belgian Boy’

0

Over the past eight years, Antwerp’s punk rock powerhouse Captain Kaiser has grown into one of Belgium’s leading punk bands. Still proudly rooted in the Kempen, their sound nods to the raw emotion of High Vis and the anarchic spirit of Viagra Boys. For frontman Sascha Vansant, punk isn’t a genre—it’s a mindset: uncompromising, loud, and always real.

The band’s long-awaited fourth album ‘Belgian Boy’, out now through [PIAS] Recordings, features ‘Dancefloor’, an anthem for the underdogs, the lonely barflies, the smiling Lucys clutching a bottle, and the Liams who hide their tears behind jokes. ‘Dancefloor’ is a breath of fresh air: an upbeat riff that will thrill fans of The Cure and DIIV, a melody that embraces the darkness but lets the light in.

Across the album, there’s also the raw punch of ‘Roadkill’ and ‘Moldy’ and the atmospheric post-rock of ‘Playground’. And with the album’s emotive title track ‘Belgian Boy’, Captain Kaiser once again proves that punk doesn’t just scream—it comforts, celebrates, and connects.

MEOVV Ignite With Fiery New Single “BURNING UP” From Their EP ‘MY EYES OPEN VVIDE’

0

Multinational K-pop sensation MEOVV turn up the heat with their explosive new single “BURNING UP,” out now via THEBLACKLABEL / Capitol Records. Fueled by powerhouse vocals, pulsating beats, and pure attitude, the track blazes with passion and confidence – a fearless anthem of unstoppable energy.

“BURNING UP” was co-written by MEOVV members GAWON and NARIN alongside a cast of top-tier THEBLACKLABEL talent and international hitmakers including the label’s founder/mega-producer Teddy “TEDDY” Park, Malachiii, Teal Douville, Billy Walsh, Jesse Bluu, Zikai, 24, Vince, and Lento. Producers include TEDDY, Malachiii, 24, and Teal Douville. The epic dance cut kicks off with a Jersey club beat and a living rhythm made up of inhales and exhales. The pulsating synth lifts the group higher as they chant: “It’s like a wildfire, I’mma stay right by ya / Come take me up higher / Let it, let it, let it, let it burn.”

The “BURNING UP” video transfers that all sweltering intensity to the screen as MEOVV brings the heat wherever they go. The girls step out of flaming vehicles, set off sprinkler systems during a spicy food challenge, attempt to cool down in front of a massive fan, and dance under the spray of a fire truck. But nothing can extinguish MEOVV’s searing drive to keep pushing forward without a moment’s doubt.

The new single follows a string of milestones for MEOVV. Most recently, the group was added to the hotly tipped Fall 2025 Emerging Artists list from PEOPLE, who proclaimed, “K-Pop fan or not, MEOVV will be your latest obsession.” In August, the girls made their stunning live U.S. debut at KCON LA. The month before, they released their inaugural Japanese single, “ME ME ME,” in partnership with cosmetic brand KAO. And, of course, May brought the highly anticipated MY EYES OPEN VVIDE, a six-track EP that freely breaks down barriers between genres, moods, languages, and vocal styles – delivering an intimate yet expansive sound that captures MEOVV’s core duality: at times razor sharp, at others effortlessly smooth.

Overseen by TEDDY (BIGBANG, G-Dragon, 2NE1, BLACKPINK), MY EYES OPEN VVIDE is a sonic coming-of-age story that traces MEOVV’s journey as they open their eyes to the world, break down boundaries, and begin actualizing their dreams – as the world, in turn, opens its eyes to them. The EP launched the dynamic, rock-tinged pop epic “DROP TOP” and the laidback R&B track “LIT RIGHT NOW.” It also includes the Brazilian-funk-inspired resilience anthem “HANDS UP” – which earned MEOVV their first-ever music show win on Mnet’s M Countdown, a major milestone for any rookie group – alongside vulnerable pop/R&B song “TOXIC” and “BODY,” a rowdy, dance-inducing hit that doubled as a warning to would-be haters or rivals. Rounding out MY EYES OPEN VVIDE is MEOVV’s bold debut single “MEOW,” a body-banging explosion that roared onto Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart at No. 10.

Hailing from South Korea, the US, and Japan, MEOVV’s lineup includes SOOIN, GAWON, ANNA, NARIN, and ELLA – five stars who possess both uniquely compelling identities and an indestructible bond. After playing an integral role in shaping some of K-pop’s most iconic acts over the past couple decades, TEDDY hand-picked the members of MEOVV – his first girl group since debuting BLACKPINK – and is directing all facets of the creative and production. MEOVV launched in September 2024 and, a mere three months later, won “Favorite Rising Artist” at the 2024 MAMA Awards, Asia’s most prestigious music award show.

MEOVV has since earned a slew of critical acclaim from, among other outlets, Teen Vogue, PAPER, Hypebae, The Hollywood Reporter, Elite Daily, UPROXX, Clash, and Billboard, who raved, “MEOVV leaped onto the K-pop scene by showcasing a promising range and bold artistry set to claw out a legacy all their own.” With “BURNING UP,” MEOVV makes clear that the raging fires they’ve set around the globe so far are only the beginning.
