Disney+ Celebrates 20 Years Of Hannah Montana With Miley Cyrus Special

0

Disney has announced that the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special is coming to Disney+ on March 24th. The special will celebrate the iconic series that defined a generation, exactly two decades after its Disney Channel debut.

The special will be filmed in front of a live studio audience and will feature an exclusive, in-depth interview with star Miley Cyrus, hosted by Alex Cooper. The conversation will offer an intimate look at the creation of one of pop culture’s most iconic characters and the lasting impact the show and character have had on fans around the world. With heartfelt nostalgia and fresh perspective, Cyrus will revisit the moments, music, and memories that defined an era. Viewers will be treated to never-before-seen archival footage, while some of the most memorable sets from Hannah Montana are brought back to life — including the Stewart family living room and the legendary Hannah Montana closet. There will also be some familiar “notes” that find their way back into the spotlight.

With one of Disney’s most passionate fandoms, Hannah Montana became a global phenomenon, reshaping kids’ television, influencing music and fashion, and launching a generation-defining pop star. The Emmy-nominated series spawned 14 platinum and 18 gold albums worldwide, as well as two feature films.

Hannah Montana will always be a part of who I am. What started as a TV show became a shared experience that shaped my life and the lives of so many fans, and I’ll always be thankful for that connection,” Cyrus shares. “The fact that it still means so much to people all these years later is something I’m very proud of. This ‘Hannahversary’ is my way of celebrating and thanking the fans who’ve stood by me for 20 years.”

The special is produced by HopeTown Entertainment and Unwell Productions. Ashley Edens serves as showrunner, with Miley Cyrus, Tish Cyrus-Purcell, Alex Cooper, and Matt Kaplan as executive producers. Cooper will also host the special, guiding Hannah Montana fans through the nostalgic and highly-anticipated anniversary celebration.

Fans can relive their favorite Miley moments ahead of the anniversary special with the Hannah Montana Collection on Disney+. Starting on February 19th, they can dive even deeper with a dedicated non-stop stream featuring all four seasons of the series, along with Hannah Montana: The Movie, and Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds Concert. Demonstrating the franchise’s enduring popularity, the Hannah Montana catalog has amassed more than half a billion hours streamed globally on Disney+ to date.

BAFTA 2026 Reveals Presenters Performers And Star-Studded Guest List

0

The 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards are set for February 22 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, and the British Academy has officially unveiled its presenters, performers, and confirmed attendees. Hosted by Alan Cumming, the ceremony will broadcast at 7:00 pm GMT on BBC One and iPlayer in the UK, and at 8:00 pm ET on E! in North America.

This year’s presenter lineup spans global film and television talent, including Aaron Pierre, Alicia Vikander, Alia Bhatt, Bryan Cranston, Cillian Murphy, Gillian Anderson, Glenn Close, Hannah Waddingham, Kate Hudson, Kerry Washington, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael B. Jordan, Monica Bellucci, Riz Ahmed, Sadie Sink, Stellan Skarsgård, Stormzy, and Warwick Davis. Several nominees will also take the stage throughout the night.

The confirmed guest list reads like a cross section of the international awards circuit. Among those expected to attend are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jessie Buckley, Timothée Chalamet, Paul Thomas Anderson, Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Ryan Coogler, Jacob Elordi, Jafar Panahi, Rose Byrne, Paul Mescal, Renate Reinsve, and Yorgos Lanthimos.

Social media lit up after BAFTA released a photo of seating placards featuring Gillian Anderson positioned near DiCaprio, Jesse Plemons, Mescal, Delroy Lindo, and Michael B. Jordan. The organization clarified that the image was a staged visual to highlight attendees and did not reflect the official seating arrangement.

Musical performances will play a major role in the ceremony. The record-breaking track “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters” will receive its first performance outside the United States, delivered by Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami. Jessie Ware will also perform during the In Memoriam segment, honoring one of Barbra Streisand’s classic songs.

In terms of nominations, “One Battle After Another” leads the field with 14, followed closely by “Sinners” with 13. “Hamnet” and “Marty Supreme” each secured 11 nominations, positioning them as major contenders across key categories.

Special honors will also be presented during the ceremony. Donna Langley, Chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, will receive the BAFTA Fellowship, the organization’s highest accolade. Clare Binns, Creative Director of Picturehouse Cinemas, will be honored with the Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema award.

With nominees, presenters, performers, and honorees confirmed, BAFTA 2026 stands as one of the most significant milestones of the awards season. The evening’s outcomes could shape the final stretch of the Oscar race as the industry turns its focus toward Hollywood’s biggest night.

20 Legendary Tracks That Still Give You Chills

Some songs fade with time. Others hit the same nerve every single time you hear them.

The first piano note. The first breath before a chorus. A voice that cracks in just the right place. Across genres, eras, identities, and cultures, certain tracks don’t just sound good, they feel seismic. Here are 20 legendary songs that still give you chills, no matter when or where you press play.

“Respect” – Aretha Franklin (1967)
A demand, a declaration, a groove that refuses to sit still. Aretha didn’t just sing it, she claimed it. That spelling breakdown still lands like a lightning bolt.

“Bohemian Rhapsody” – Queen (1975)
Opera meets hard rock meets pure nerve. It shouldn’t work. It absolutely does. The quiet middle section alone can stop a room cold.

“What’s Going On” – Marvin Gaye (1971)
Smooth on the surface, urgent underneath. Decades later, it still feels painfully current.

“Smells Like Teen Spirit” – Nirvana (1991)
The opening riff changed everything. Raw, loud, and restless, it captured a generation in three chords.

“I Will Always Love You” – Whitney Houston (1992)
That a cappella intro. That key change. That final run. Few vocal performances have ever felt this towering.

“Like a Rolling Stone” – Bob Dylan (1965)
Six minutes that redefined what a pop single could be. The sneer in his voice still stings.

“Billie Jean” – Michael Jackson (1982)
That bassline walks in and suddenly nothing else matters. Minimal, mysterious, magnetic.

“Fast Car” – Tracy Chapman (1988)
Quiet storytelling that hits like a freight train. The chorus lifts, then gently breaks your heart.

“Purple Rain” – Prince (1984)
A slow build into a cathartic storm. When that guitar solo climbs, it feels almost spiritual.

“Rolling in the Deep” – Adele (2010)
A modern classic. Fury wrapped in gospel grit. That first chorus still makes shoulders tense.

“Strange Fruit” – Billie Holiday (1939)
Haunting and brave. The stillness in her delivery makes the message even more devastating.

“Hallelujah” – Jeff Buckley (1994)
Intimate and aching. Every note feels suspended in air.

“Formation” – Beyoncé (2016)
Precision, pride, and power. It hits with swagger and lands with purpose.

“A Change Is Gonna Come” – Sam Cooke (1964)
Hope and heartbreak wrapped together. The strings swell and suddenly it feels bigger than a song.

“Back to Black” – Amy Winehouse (2006)
Vintage soul with modern scars. Her voice carries both defiance and damage.

“Johnny B. Goode” – Chuck Berry (1958)
That opening guitar lick still feels like the birth of something wild and unstoppable.

“Lose Yourself” – Eminem (2002)
Tension that never lets up. The beat pulses like a racing heart.

“Dreams” – Fleetwood Mac (1977)
Soft, steady, and quietly devastating. It floats and cuts at the same time.

“A Day in the Life” – The Beatles (1967)

A quiet piano. A detached vocal. Alarm clock. Bus ride. Workday blur. And then comes the swell.

“Bad Guy” – Billie Eilish (2019)
Sparse, strange, and instantly iconic. The beat switch alone is enough to raise goosebumps.

Blues Soul Trailblazer Joyann Parker Rises With “End Of The Line”

0

Two-time Billboard Blues Albums charting artist Joyann Parker continues to cement her reputation as one of roots and soul music’s most compelling independent voices. Building on her unmistakable momentum, Parker will deliver her powerfully optimistic sophomore single, “End of The Line,” on February 27, ahead of her upcoming album Life Lines, arriving Friday, March 27.

Produced alongside Kevin Bowe and featuring Parker on lead vocals and guitar, with Mark Lamoine (guitar), Tim Wick (keys), Chris Bates (bass), and Bill Golden (drums, background vocals), the track delivers a deeply felt performance anchored by her unmistakable voice. Blending blues, soul, Americana, and rock, “End of The Line” emerges as a stirring anthem of resilience and renewal, echoing Parker’s belief that what feels like a final chapter may instead be the beginning of something greater.

Parker shares, “What may seem like the end of the line isn’t always the end. Instead, maybe it’s a doorway to a fresh start — part of a bigger story of redemption.”

“End of The Line” follows the release of the lead single, “Got Love,” praised by Americana UK as “a vibrant anthem driven by lively grooves and her soulful voice,” while Rock & Blues Muse exclusively premiered the track, calling it “an up-tempo rocking ballad about the importance of love regardless of what path we’re all on… lyrics speak to everyone… full-bodied and soulful, conveying warmth and true soulfulness.”

Inspired by a close friend’s healing journey, Parker adds, “‘Got Love’ is about choosing hope — even when things feel heavy. Watching someone I love fight their way back reminded me how powerful love can be when it’s steady, patient, and real.”

The Wiggles Launch “The Tree Of Wisdom Spectacular” World Tour

0

The world’s most successful children’s entertainment group, The Wiggles, today announced a landmark strategic global agreement with Universal Music Group, marking an exciting new chapter in the group’s 35-year history.

Through this collaboration, Universal Music Australia will take the lead in amplifying The Wiggles’ reach to more families around the world, alongside UMG’s global network of labels and divisions providing their expertise across streaming, digital and physical distribution, promotion and marketing to help scale The Wiggles’ global presence through new recording projects, expanded digital content and integrated campaigns. In the U.S., The Wiggles will be released by Republic Records: Kids & Family.

The Wiggles’ global success has long been anchored by a deep and meaningful connection with audiences in the United States. In the early 2000s, the group experienced rapid international growth through television, home video and touring across the US, UK, New Zealand and Hong Kong, with their videos gaining major traction on Disney Channel’s Playhouse Disney. In 2001, The Wiggles toured the US during the weeks following September 11, forging a particularly strong bond with American families.

Their momentum continued with the release of ‘Wiggly Safari’ in 2002, featuring guest appearances from Steve Irwin and his family including Terri and Bindi and reached a historic peak in 2003 when The Wiggles performed 12 consecutive sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden in New York City – an extraordinary feat for any musical act.

That same year, on November 1, New York City officially declared ‘Wiggles Day’ in honour of their global contribution to children’s entertainment.

“The Wiggles have built an extraordinary creative legacy in children’s entertainment. We see strong potential to continue growing The Wiggles brand globally, while staying true to what has also made them so beloved for more than 35 years. We’re thrilled to welcome them into the Universal Music family,” added Andrew Kronfeld, Executive Vice President, International and Label and Artist Ventures, Universal Music Group.

Further commenting on the partnership, Universal Music Australia and New Zealand President and CEO, Sean Warner added, “The Wiggles are a true cultural phenomenon and one of Australia’s most iconic and enduring success stories. Their music has soundtracked childhoods for generations and continues to resonate across audiences worldwide. We’re proud to be shaping the next chapter of their international journey as a trusted and much-loved Australian group.”

Republic Records: Kids & Family Senior Vice President, Bree Bowles shared, “The Wiggles are a global cultural force whose music has shaped childhoods across generations. Their ability to connect with families around the world and their impact on children’s entertainment is unmatched. We are thrilled to be working with The Wiggles as we look to amplify their magic, honor their legacy, and help write the next extraordinary chapter of their story.”

The Wiggles’ founder and original Blue Wiggle, Anthony Field, said, “The Wiggles’mission has been about creating fun, educational and enriching music for children and families. What makes this new partnership so special is the opportunity to take everything we do – music, storytelling, live performance – and amplify it on a truly global scale. Universal Musicunderstands both the legacy and the future of The Wiggles, and together we’re looking forward to reaching families everywhere across America and around the world in new and meaningful ways.”

Kate Chiodo, CEO, The Wiggles adds, “The Wiggles business has enjoyed tremendous growth over the past few years, and we are looking forward to continuing this trajectory and scaling our activity internationally with our friends at Universal Music.”

Since forming in 1991, the colorful combo has garnered over 30 million album and DVD sales, 4 billion global music streams, 6 billion YouTube views and has recently surpassed 10 million YouTube subscribers. In recognition of the group’s ongoing popularity, The Wiggles have also been crowned Australia’s #1 Local Artist on Spotify for the past three years (2025, 2024, 2023).

This new partnership with Universal Music Group marks an exciting new chapter for The Wiggles, building on a successful and long-standing relationship with ABC Music, which has served as the group’s record label since 1991. During this time, The Wiggles earned 18 ARIA Awards, including induction into the ARIA Hall of Fame and received the prestigious Ted Albert Award for Outstanding Services to Australian Music.

Since expanding to an eight-member line up in 2021, the beloved cast – recognisable by their signature skivvies – now includes; Anthony and Lucia (Blue Wiggles), Simon and Caterina (Red Wiggles), Tsehay and Evie (Yellow Wiggles) and Lachy and John (Purple Wiggles).

As a group, they continue to create timeless content for families that is both developmentally appropriate for children and entertaining for parents and carers. In fact, many of these adults fondly remember growing up with The Wiggles, demonstrating a unique audience relationship that spans generations.

In addition to the core cast, The Wiggles’ friends include iconic characters such as Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword, as well as the viral internet sensation, The Tree of Wisdom, whose dancing has become a global phenomenon amongst children and grown-ups alike, with celebrity fans including Robert De Niro, Khloe Kardashian, and Jessie J to name a few.

Looking ahead, The Wiggles are gearing up to embark on a global run of tour dates, including sold-out shows from March through August across the UK, US and Canada. Shoegaze Icons Chapterhouse Bring “Whirlpool” To North America

0

UK shoegaze pioneers Chapterhouse return to North America for the first time since 2010, celebrating 35 years of their landmark debut album ‘Whirlpool’. Known for swirling guitars, melodic haze, and songs that balance drive with dreaminess, the band steps back onto stages in New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles for Slide Away Festival before heading out on a full run of dates.

The tour launches May 15 and 16 at Brooklyn Paramount for the NYC edition of Slide Away Festival, with Hum, Nothing, and Chapterhouse performing both nights alongside different undercards. The same format carries through Chicago and Los Angeles. She’s Green opens East Coast dates, while The Asteroid No. 4 join on the West Coast.

The 2026 North American tour continues May 17 in Washington, DC at Black Cat, May 19 in Boston at The Sinclair, May 20 in Montreal at Theatre Fairmount, and May 21 in Toronto at The Concert Hall. Chicago’s Agora hosts Slide Away Festival on May 23. The run moves west with Seattle’s The Crocodile on May 25, Portland’s Aladdin Theatre on May 26, San Francisco’s August Hall on May 28, and closes May 30 at Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles for Slide Away Festival.

With songs like “Pearl,” “Falling Down,” and “Mesmerise” back in the set, ‘Whirlpool’ still sounds massive, melodic, and transportive. The record remains a high watermark for UK shoegaze, and these shows place its shimmer and weight exactly where they belong, loud in a room full of people.
