Panic! At The Disco Announce Sixth Studio Album “Pray For The Wicked” Out June 22
After a week of cryptic clues to their fans that set the internet a buzz, Grammy-nominated Panic! At The Disco today announced that their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Pray For The Wicked, will be released on June 22, 2018 via Fueled By Ramen/DCD2 Records. The album, produced by Jake Sinclair, is available for pre-order now HERE with new single “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” and “(Fuck A) Silver Lining.”
“After being away in New York for months doing Kinky Boots, I just wanted to hang out at home when I got back to LA. I was so revved up that I asked some friends to come over to my home studio to help me write about all the incredible things I’ve experienced the last couple of years,” said Brendon Urie, Panic! At The Disco frontman. “Pray For The Wicked is my ‘thank you’ to our fans and the most fun I’ve ever had making album.”
Panic! At The Disco also unleashed an accompanying music video for “Say Amen (Saturday Night)” directed by longtime collaborator Daniel “Cloud” Campos and Spencer Susser. The video is part of a trilogy that acts as the prequel to “This Is Gospel” and “Emperor’s New Clothes, also directed by Cloud. P!ATD will perform the song on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” tonight on NBC (check local listings for times).
The release of the album will be celebrated by a North American arena tour, produced by AEG Presents, that will kick off on July 11, 2018 in Minneapolis, MN, and will visit major markets throughout the summer before concluding in the band’s hometown of Las Vegas on August 18th. A R I Z O N A and Hayley Kiyoko be support for the 28 city tour. Fans who pre-order Pray for the Wicked via Panic’s webstore before March 29th at 9pm ET will receive a unique presale code for first access to tickets. General tickets will be available to the public beginning March 30th at 12:00 p.m. local time at PanicAtTheDisco.com. Pray For The Wicked follows Panic! At The Disco’s critically acclaimed fifth album, Death Of A Bachelor, which was released on January 15, 2016 via Fueled By Ramen/DCD2 Records. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Chart and was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2017 GRAMMY® Awards. The RIAA platinum selling release was the highest selling rock album and fourth-highest selling album released in 2016, according to Nielsen Soundscan. Sensory overload is the only way to accurately describe the Beautiful Trauma Tour which took over Toronto on Tuesday evening. Fans of all ages from 6 to 60 flocked to the Air Canada Centre, some with freshly dyed pink hair in homage to Pink to witness night one of two sold out concerts.
P!nk is no stranger to adding acrobatics to her performances and Toronto was no exception, starting off the night with “Get This Party Started”. P!nk was hanging from the largest chandelier I have ever seen high in the rafters of the Air Canada Centre. The fans needed no prompting to get out of their seats as they jumped up on the very first note.
P!nk’s larger than life persona resonated throughout the whole entire show but she made a point of waving, smiling and even shaking hands of some lucky fans consistently through the concert. At one moment during the show she pointed out one concertgoer “I can see you, you in your sequins” which undoubtedly made that fans evening.
We were all given a huge surprise as Niagara’s own Dallas Green was brought on stage to do a duet of “You + Me”. The duet was soft and sweet which was quite the contrast from the rest of the evening. P!nk even dropped a hint that there may be another recording with the duet in the near future.
Flawlessly belting out song after song P!nk used every square inch of the arena, flying high over head during numerous songs. Topping off the night while performing “So What” she flew to the 300 section and then across the entire arena feeling like she was so close you could almost touch her.
There is so much more I could add to this review like the pyro, confetti, a 30ft high marionette puppet of Eminem, and a set list, but I would rather suggest you go and see the show for yourself. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the kick ass band that was backing her tonight, playing note for note with what looked like the greatest of ease.
I have been a long time fan of P!nk, not necessarily for just her music but what she stands for, women empowerment. In the words of P!nk “It feels really good to say I’m just a girl In 2018”
