20 Tracks That Defined Summer

From Motown to modern pop, summer songs aren’t just hits — they’re memories set to music. Whether you were dancing barefoot on asphalt or stuck in traffic with the windows down, these #1 Billboard summer anthems capture the sound of sunshine from every era.

“Every Breath You Take” – The Police (1983)
The ultimate slow-burn obsession. A love song? Maybe. A stalker anthem? Definitely. Either way, it ruled radios all season long.

“Genie in a Bottle” – Christina Aguilera (1999)
A pop debut that shimmered like heat off the pavement. Christina’s voice hit the world like a spark and lit up the millennium.

“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” – The Rolling Stones (1965)
Rebellion with a riff. Mick and Keith turned frustration into freedom, capturing the spirit of endless, sweaty youth.

“I Gotta Feeling” – The Black Eyed Peas (2009)
The night-out anthem that never ends. If your summer didn’t start with this song, it didn’t start at all.

“I Kissed a Girl” – Katy Perry (2008)
Bold, cheeky, and unstoppable. Katy’s rebellious hit was the soundtrack to every rooftop, bonfire, and bad decision.

“In My Feelings” – Drake (2018)
The viral dance that made everyone ask, “Kiki, do you love me?” Summer 2018 belonged to the challenge — and to Drake.

“Last Night” – Morgan Wallen (2023)
A country heartbreak sung under neon lights. It blurred genre lines and ruled playlists from Nashville to New York.

“Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)” – Los Del Rio (1996)
One song, one dance, one global movement. No summer party was safe from its infectious sway.

“Old Town Road” – Lil Nas X feat. Billy Ray Cyrus (2019)
A cowboy hat and a beat drop walked into a bar — and changed music forever. Yeehaw met trap and the charts never recovered.

“One Dance” – Drake feat. WizKid & Kyla (2016)
A warm breeze in song form. Its tropical rhythm wrapped around the world like golden-hour light.

“Party Rock Anthem” – LMFAO feat. Lauren Bennett & GoonRock (2011)
Glasses on, volume up. This electro banger made every car, club, and kitchen floor a dance floor.

“Promiscuous” – Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland (2006)
Flirty, fearless, and futuristic. The chemistry between Nelly and Timbaland was pure summer electricity.

“Rockstar” – DaBaby feat. Roddy Ricch (2020)
Locked-down summer, still unstoppable. A gritty anthem that thrived even when the party moved indoors.

“Shadow Dancing” – Andy Gibb (1978)
Disco’s golden glow captured in one groove. Andy’s falsetto floated over the heat like champagne bubbles.

“The Boy Is Mine” – Brandy & Monica (1998)
Two R&B queens, one unforgettable showdown. The ultimate summer duet of rivalry and rhythm.

“Tossin’ and Turnin’” – Bobby Lewis (1961)
Before streaming and remixes, there was this — the sound of sleepless nights and pure rock ’n’ roll joy.

“Umbrella” – Rihanna feat. Jay-Z (2007)
“Ella, ella” echoed everywhere. Rihanna didn’t just dominate the summer — she defined a generation’s soundtrack.

“We Belong Together” – Mariah Carey (2005)
A comeback and a confession rolled into one. No one did summer heartbreak quite like Mimi.

“When Doves Cry” – Prince (1984)
No bassline, no problem. Prince stripped it all down and still made it sizzle — a masterpiece of sweat and soul.

Summer ends, but the songs stay hot. From soul to synths to TikTok trends, these tracks remind us that every year has its anthem — and every anthem has its moment in the sun.

Elevate Your Style with the Perfect Men’s Trendy Overcoat

0

By Mitch Rice

When the temperature drops, style doesn’t have to take a back seat. A men’s trendy overcoat is more than just outerwear — it’s a statement piece that blends sophistication, comfort, and confidence. From timeless wool classics to modern oversized silhouettes, the overcoat has become a must-have for every man who values both practicality and fashion-forward design.

The Evolution of the Men’s Overcoat

Overcoats have long been associated with elegance, worn by icons of classic cinema and style legends throughout history. But today’s men’s trendy overcoat has evolved beyond the traditional tailored piece. Modern designers have reimagined it in different fabrics, cuts, and colors — creating versions suitable for both formal and streetwear-inspired looks.

Neutral tones like camel, charcoal, and navy still dominate, but we’re also seeing a rise in bold hues such as olive green, burnt orange, and cream. These contemporary shades add a touch of individuality while keeping the outfit refined.

Streetwear Meets Elegance

What makes today’s men’s trendy overcoat so appealing is its versatility. It can elevate casual streetwear just as easily as it completes a tailored business outfit. Street-style influencers have embraced the overcoat as a layering essential — often pairing it with hoodies, joggers, and sneakers. This balance between structure and comfort has made the overcoat one of the most flexible pieces in modern men’s fashion.

For example, an oversized beige overcoat layered over a graphic hoodie and white sneakers captures the essence of effortless urban sophistication. On the other hand, a slim-cut black overcoat worn with leather boots and a turtleneck creates a sleek, minimalist vibe perfect for evening outings.

Fabric and Fit Matter

When shopping for a men’s trendy overcoat, fabric and fit are crucial. Wool remains the gold standard for warmth and durability, but blended materials like cashmere-wool mixes or polyester-wool hybrids offer a lighter, more breathable feel — ideal for transitional weather.

The right fit also depends on how you plan to style it. A slightly oversized cut allows room for layering thicker sweaters or hoodies, while a tailored silhouette complements more formal or office-ready looks.

Seasonal Trends to Watch

As we move through the colder months, several overcoat trends stand out:

  • Double-breasted designs are making a strong comeback, offering a timeless yet bold look.
  • Textured fabrics such as herringbone or tweed bring depth and personality to simple outfits.
  • Neutral layering — pairing muted tones together for a minimalist, Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic — is becoming increasingly popular.
  • Sustainable materials are gaining attention as conscious fashion becomes a growing priority among shoppers.

Where to Find the Latest Styles

If you’re looking to refresh your winter wardrobe, platforms like Voghion make shopping for a men’s trendy overcoat both convenient and affordable. Voghion is a rising European e-commerce platform that offers a wide selection of fashion products — from clothing, footwear, and bags to lifestyle items like furniture and e-bikes — all at competitive prices.

What sets Voghion apart is its variety and accessibility. Rather than focusing on a single brand, the platform curates multiple styles for different tastes, whether you prefer sleek minimalism or bold, streetwear-inspired pieces.

Final Thoughts

A men’s trendy overcoat is more than just a seasonal layer — it’s a wardrobe essential that adds polish and confidence to every outfit. Whether you lean toward classic wool coats or modern oversized silhouettes, investing in the right overcoat helps you stay warm, stylish, and effortlessly on-trend.

And with platforms like Voghion, it’s easier than ever to explore new styles, compare options, and build a wardrobe that truly reflects your personality and lifestyle.

Kaleb Hikele Takes Folk-Rock to Dreamland with Tender New Single “Slowly”

0

Canadian musical artist Kaleb Hikele just released his new single, “Slowly.” The song is a calm and emotional folk-rock song that will be part of his upcoming solo album Storytelling. The track has a steady, rhythmic flow and a soft dreamlike feel. Hikele’s character-rich vocals and smooth production make it a song you can drift away on while listening to.

Recorded at Catherine North Studios, “Slowly” has a special meaning for Hikele. He wrote it for his partner Jess back in 2016, describing it as “a handwritten letter to myself, narrating the early stages of falling in love while it’s happening.” He played and sang every part himself, calling the album “my whole heart.”

The song’s lyrics reflect on love and life. Lyrics like “Back to the earth I will go as you bury me” and “Love is a mystery, and life is a question of hope” give the song a thoughtfully peaceful, accepting tone. It feels like a goodbye, but one filled with warmth and calm.

Following his 12th album My Mind Is Like a Radio, and a 73-date tour across Ontario, “Slowly” showcases Hikele in his most honest and heartfelt creative state. It’s a quiet reminder to slow down and appreciate the beauty in every ending.

Ger Eaton Blooms, Falls, and Rises Again with Lush Renaissance Pop Album ‘Season Changes’

0

Well known in his homeland thanks to a string of brilliant singles, Irish bard par excellence Ger Eaton is back with a large dose of Renaissance Pop. Finally, he will be releasing his long-awaited debut album ‘Season Changes’ via Dimple Discs, a Peckham-based label that has championed many Irish artists. In the home-stretch before its release, he shares the singles ‘Hollow’ and ‘The Time It Takes To Fall’.

Ger Eaton is the singer and sonic auteur behind a remarkable and acclaimed set of songs, released as singles over the past two years, both on his own imprint and by enterprising indie label Dimple Discs, who spotted a good thing and snapped him up. An artist who has graced many a stage, his distinctive keyboards have graced many Irish bands of the last two decades.

With a rich progression from baroque pop and cinematic balladry to more folk elements, Eaton creates music that is laced with broad orchestral arrangements, drama, and honesty. Complimenting the video for his recent single ‘Season Changes’, a live rendition of ‘Phoenix (Reborn)’ and ‘Season Changes’ was also recorded live at Hyde Dublin.

“‘Season Changes’ is essentially an old fashioned break-up LP. All of the songs deal with the complexities, both emotional and physical, that come with the ending of a very long and significant relationship. Mirroring the seasons, ‘Season Changes’ charts the often inevitable decay of a relationship, from the glowing bloom of its Spring, gradually ebbing away to its wintery conclusion,” says Ger Eaton.

“The songs were written about and recorded during the end of my marriage, and I decided from the off that the Lyrics would be raw and honest… I felt I owed that much to myself. Musically, I wanted the arrangements and instrumentation to bring a lushness and drama that would wrap the words in the appropriate Musical Cloak …For me, music has always been a place where I can both lose and find myself… a Solice … my Phoenix.”

Beginning with ‘I Thought I’d A Friend’ and continuing through the beautiful ‘Hollow’, ‘The Time It Takes To Fall’, ‘Phoenix (Reborn)’, ‘Home Again’ and the most recent single ‘Season Changes’, Ger’s work carries echoes of Scott Walker, Jimmy Webb, Brian Wilson, Ian Brown and the high melodic heyday of the late 1960s, yet shot through with a contemporary slant and edge.

Each new song and accompanying video has marked an exciting stage in Ger’s progress and has received recognition and tremendous support from national and regional radio programmers in his native Ireland and also in the UK, as well as music writers and tastemakers.

On October 17th, the ‘Season Changes’ album will be released on vinyl and CD. It will also be available from digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and also Bandcamp

On October 23rd, Ger Eaton and his 11-piece band take the stage at The National Concert Hall in Dublin, with support  from Andrew Keeling & vocalist Toni Kay.  Tickets can be ordered at https://www.nch.ie/all-events-listing/metronome-ger-eaton-oct25

Jackson Dean Flips the Switch on Small-Town Dreams with Country Rocker “Turn On The Lights”

0

Platinum-selling singer/songwriter Jackson Dean tells a story of youth, escapism and dreams in his new track “Turn On The Lights” via Big Machine Records. Set in small-town America, the song follows Billy, a talented high school football player who lives for Friday nights out on the field. His at-home life is nothing significant, but for 48 minutes each week in the fall, he has the opportunity to feel the warm glow of the spotlight shining down on his face, filling him with purpose and pride.

“‘Turn On The Lights’ is about when it’s time to flip the switch – it’s all or nothing when the lights are on,” shares Dean. “Whether on the field or on the stage, I know that feeling well, and it was fun to try and capture it within the song.”

Written by Dean alongside producer and frequent collaborator Luke Dick and award-winning songwriter Jessie Jo Dillon, “Turn On The Lights” is anchored by booming percussion that builds excitement and suspense for the idea of a future that’s rich with possibility and untarnished by harsh realities. Dean’s gritty, gravel-toned voice echoes with emotion and nostalgia-filled reminiscence that elicits flash visions of memorable moments frozen in time. At its core, “Turn On The Lights” is a story about the passions that provide us solace from life’s hardships and the dreams born in water tower towns that stretch far beyond city limits.

Dean’s new song embodies the spirit and unmatched energy of T-Mobile’s Friday Night 5G Lights game-changing national competition, returning for its second year to give high schools in small towns across the country a spotlight and a chance to win $4 million in prizes for their schools.

As his current top 20-and-climbing single “Heavens To Betsy” continues to soar up the charts, Dean also released the sultry “Be Your Man” earlier this year. The track marked the first page of an exciting new chapter for the rising singer/songwriter, expanding to new territory both sonically and lyrically from his September 2024-released sophomore album On The Back Of My Dreams.

This summer, he is touring coast to coast, playing various fairs and festivals. On September 13th, he will headline Yellowstone and Landman creator Taylor Sheridan’s inaugural Bosque Ranch Live concert at his ranch in Weatherford, Texas. In addition, Dean will act as direct support for Lee Brice this fall on select dates of his What You Know About That Tour before bringing his highly successful headlining On The Back Of My Dreams World Tour to Australia and New Zealand.

Black Veil Brides Return With Explosive New Single “Hallelujah” From Upcoming Album

0

On the heels of a successful tour alongside BabyMetal, Black Veil Brides are back with their first piece of new music since 2024’s chart-topping single “Bleeders.” The band — comprised of vocalist Andy Biersack, guitarists Jake Pitts and Jinxx, bassist Lonny Eagleton, and drummer Christian Coma — return to their roots with the aggressive new track “Hallelujah.” The Tampa, Florida-based choir “One Voice Ensemble” also lent their talents to the recording. The song is being released by their label partners Spinefarm and was produced by Biersack and Pitts.

“‘Hallelujah’ is an important song for us, not only because it is the first track from the new record, but also as a signifier of what’s to come for the band. On a narrative level, it represents the themes and ideas I am exploring lyrically on the album. I am fascinated by the current state of discourse and how often we seem to prioritize ideological certainty over the heart and soul of humanity. Over the years, we have developed a tremendous connection with our audience, which is often dismissed or misinterpreted by the ‘scene.’ We stand at a unique inflection point culturally and I want to be able to speak openly about how much I believe in being true to yourself over the fear of mass hysteria or in-group recriminations,” explains Biersack. “When my grandfather’s voice spoke to ‘the outcasts’ in the first moments of our first record in 2010, it was a sincere call to arms for all those who feel different. In many ways this record is the natural evolution of that same idea. This is the heaviest and most vitriolic BVB record by far but more importantly I believe it is the most sincere and honest record we have ever made.”

To coincide with the new single, Black Veil Brides are releasing an animated video for “Hallelujah.” The video is directed by Marco Pavone (The Black Dahlia Murder, Pink Floyd, Shadow of Intent). The band will continue to release more visual content over the coming months to support the new song. A teaser for the track got fans in a frenzy when it was released last week.

The band will also be touring in support of the new single. The song will make its live performance debut at Warped Tour in Long Beach, California, on July 26th. Black Veil Brides will also be making appearances at several high-profile US music festivals before heading to South America for six headline shows. The We Missed Ourselves Tour 2025 will also feature Underoath, Silverstein, Senses Fail, and I Set My Friends On Fire.

“Clap Your Hands Say Yeah – Piano & Voice” gets underway after a sold-out run in Europe on January 15, 2026, in Boston, MA, and then visits intimate venues in major markets across the continent through mid-February.

Tickets for all announced dates are on sale now. An extremely limited black and white splatter vinyl edition of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s Bootleg Series Vol. 1 – Piano & Voice Live at Servant Jazz Quarters, recorded in London, will be available online and at shows while supplies last.

Please join me for these special, small shows.”

In the meantime, the milestone world tour commemorating the 20th anniversary of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah’s landmark self-titled debut album resumes later this month with a series of eagerly awaited headline dates in Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
