0

Country music maverick Gavin Adcock releases new song “Colorblind” today. Written by Adcock, Colton Venner and Derek Bahr, the track marks his first release of 2026. “It’s about losing someone you shoulda cared more for, and not realizing how much color she brought to your life,” Adcock says. The song arrives with the promise of much more music to come this year from the Georgia native.

Adcock performs tonight at the EA Sports Madden Bowl as part of Super Bowl LX week in San Francisco. Last year, two songs from his album ‘Own Worst Enemy’ were featured on the Madden NFL 26 Soundtrack. The MusicRow Awards Discovery Artist of the Year nominee has built serious momentum, with American Songwriter noting that he “is not only releasing great music, but is building a career reminiscent of artists like Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and more.”

The artist hits the road as support on 16 dates of Morgan Wallen’s Still The Problem Tour 2026. He also has multiple festival appearances lined up, including Stagecoach in Indio, California. Adcock recently appeared on the cover of MusicRow’s 2026 Touring & Next Big Thing Issue. His album ‘Own Worst Enemy’ arrived as the number one Country debut album on the Billboard Top 200 Country Chart and number one All-Genre streaming debut album on the Billboard 200 All-Genre Chart week of release.

The project boasted over 25 million US streams within its first week, more than doubling the first-week numbers of his prior album ‘Actin’ Up Again’. Adcock has collectively amassed more than 1.5 billion global streams across singles including the RIAA Platinum-certified “A Cigarette” and Gold-certified songs “Run Your Mouth,” “Deep End,” and “Four Leaf Clover.” The former Georgia Southern University football player has sold out music venues from coast to coast and recently wrapped his 2025 Need To Tour. “Colorblind” is available now.

Pop Breakout SOMBR Unleashes New Single “Homewrecker” After GRAMMY Spotlight

0

Following a standout debut performance at the 68th annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, SOMBR shares a brand new single, titled “Homewrecker” (Warner Records), his first release since his critically acclaimed, chart-topping 2025 debut album I Barely Know Her. Written and co-produced by the GRAMMY nominated multi-hyphenated artist, “Homewrecker” arrives with an official music video starring Quenlin Blackwell and Milo Manheim.

Directed by Gus Black (Phoebe Bridgers, Laufey), the “Homewrecker” music video brings the song’s relatably messy feelings to life. In the visual, SOMBR and Blackwell, cast in a Western film helmed by a short-tempered director played by Manheim, we see tensions rise and the lines between pretend and real life blurred — leading to a high-noon-style western showdown.

Once again, SOMBR is the sole writer and co-producer of his latest song, underscoring the weight of this talent. In addition to his Best New Artist GRAMMY nomination, he’s currently up for two prestigious BRIT Awards: International Artist of the Year, and International Song of the Year for undressed.” Meanwhile, back to friends has claimed the #1 spot at Top 40 Radio

In November, SOMBR made his Saturday Night Live debut, where he played 12 to 12 and back to friends.” That appearance landed between sold-out tours across North America — with most venues being upgraded — and Australia/New Zealand. Next week, he embarks on a sold-out UK/EU run before returning stateside for Coachella. See below for all upcoming dates.

I Barely Know Her was written entirely by SOMBR and co-produced by him alongside the legendary Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, The Replacements). A New York City native raised on the Lower East Side, he started making songs in his bedroom while studying classical music at LaGuardia High School. His 2022 song “Caroline” took the internet by storm, and he’s since released a series of EPs and singles, climbing to over 400 million monthly streams across platforms. Now based in Los Angeles, SOMBR continues to explore young romance and heartbreak through his music, which remains self-written and co-produced.

Neave Trio Celebrates Clara Schumann, Dora Pejačević And Cécile Chaminade On ‘In Her Hands’

0

The two-time GRAMMY nominated Neave Trio releases ‘In Her Hands’ today on Chandos Records. The ensemble’s eighth commercial album showcases piano trios by Clara Schumann, Dora Pejačević, and Cécile Chaminade. The program celebrates three women composers from the early modern era whose chamber works deserve wider recognition. Neave Trio has built a reputation for performances that balance passion with sensitivity and grace, and this release continues their commitment to uplifting historically underrepresented voices in classical music.

Clara Schumann’s Piano Trio Op. 17 in G minor opens the album. Written in 1846 during a challenging period, the work reveals her extraordinary emotional depth and artistic sensitivity. The piece received its public premiere in Vienna in January 1847 and earned admiration from Johannes Brahms and Joseph Joachim. Dora Pejačević’s Trio No. 2 in C Major, Op. 29 follows, composed in 1910 when she was 25. Largely self-taught, Pejačević developed a distinctive late-Romantic musical language that showcases her gift for lyrical melody and expressive dialogue between piano and strings.

Cécile Chaminade’s Piano Trio No. 2 in A minor, Op. 34 closes the album. Published in 1887 and dedicated to cellist Jules Delsart, the work premiered at the Salle Érard in 1886 with Chaminade at the piano. Contemporary reviewers praised her as one of the leading voices of the French school. The trio stands as a vibrant example of her bold, inventive style and enduring contribution to chamber music. The New York Times calls these “excellent performances of works that deserve them.”

Anna Williams, Mikhail Veselov, and Eri Nakamura recorded the album in August 2025 at Potton Hall in Suffolk. The Neave Trio will make its London debut with a two-concert residency at King’s Place on February 12 and 13. The concerts are part of the Memory Unwrapped season and will include the London premiere of Jennifer Higdon’s ‘A Vast Palette’ alongside works from their 2022 GRAMMY nominated album ‘Musical Remembrances’. ‘In Her Hands’ is available now on Chandos Records.

Timeless Resonance: Understanding the Engineering and Artistry of Elite Musical Hardware

0

By Mitch Rice

Evaluating the investment value of heritage European musical instruments is not just a matter of assessing age or brand. Imagine discovering an antique grand piano in a family estate or visiting a collector’s gallery—how do you determine if it holds lasting worth? The process blends engineering, artistry, and market insight. This article explores the criteria and methodologies used to analyze these unique assets.

Heritage Instruments: Elements that Define Value

When evaluating investment potential, heritage European musical instruments are judged by more than their sound. Collectors and investors consider engineering quality, historical significance, and scarcity. For those seeking a classic masterpiece, options like bosendorfer for sale frequently stand out due to their storied craftsmanship and reputation.

The materials used in construction, such as aged woods and original hardware, can influence tonal quality and durability. Provenance—the documented history of ownership and use—also plays a crucial role in determining an instrument’s authenticity and desirability.

Historical Significance and Artistic Merit

The story behind a musical instrument often enhances its value. Instruments linked to renowned musicians, composers, or events command higher attention in the investment market. For example, a piano played at a legendary concert or commissioned by a notable figure acquires a distinct aura of prestige.

Artistic features, such as unique carvings, marquetry, or custom finishes, further elevate an instrument’s appeal. These elements reflect the period’s aesthetics and the artisan’s vision, making the instrument both a functional tool and a work of art. Investors examine documentation, such as certificates of authenticity or expert appraisals, to verify these claims.

Engineering Excellence and Condition

A key consideration in evaluating heritage musical instruments is their engineering integrity. This encompasses the design, mechanical action, and overall maintenance status. An instrument that retains its original parts and functions as intended is generally more desirable. Signs of expert restoration—performed with period-appropriate materials and techniques—can also add value, provided they preserve the instrument’s character.

Condition is assessed systematically. Here is a checklist that collectors and appraisers often use:

  • Confirm the originality of key structural components
  • Inspect for cracks, warping, or replacement parts
  • Test mechanical action and responsiveness
  • Evaluate the state of the finish and decorative elements
  • Review recent restoration records and service history

Using this approach, investors ensure they are acquiring an instrument that is both authentic and in collectable condition.

Market Dynamics: Supply, Demand, and Pricing

Heritage European instruments are subject to supply and demand fluctuations. Limited production numbers, discontinued models, and the rarity of well-preserved examples contribute to scarcity. On the demand side, interest from museums, institutions, and private collectors can drive prices upward.

Price transparency varies by brand and model. For instance, when researching schimmel piano price, potential buyers may compare auction results, dealer listings, and historical sales data. This research helps investors understand current market trends and anticipate future value shifts.

The broader economic climate and evolving tastes in music also play a role. Periods of renewed interest in classical music or vintage craftsmanship often see spikes in both demand and value, while times of economic uncertainty may dampen the market.

Authentication and Certification Processes

Verifying the authenticity of a heritage musical instrument is a critical step in the investment process. This involves expert examination, documentation review, and sometimes scientific testing. Appraisers analyze serial numbers, maker’s marks, and construction techniques to confirm origin and age.

Certificates from reputable experts or organizations lend credibility and can significantly affect an instrument’s market value. In some cases, instruments with incomplete histories are subject to more rigorous scrutiny, and their value may be adjusted accordingly.

Buyers are encouraged to commission independent evaluations before finalizing a purchase. This reduces the risk of acquiring a misrepresented or counterfeit instrument, safeguarding the investment.

Comparative Analysis: Brand, Model, and Legacy

Not all heritage instruments are valued equally. Brand reputation, model rarity, and historical impact each play a part in comparative valuation. For example, upright pianos from established makers such as steinway upright pianos are often sought after for their engineering and tonal consistency.

Investors analyze market data, production records, and expert reviews to differentiate models. Some brands are known for particular innovations or associations with renowned performers, which can enhance desirability. Understanding these nuances helps buyers make informed decisions and avoid overvalued or misrepresented pieces.

Conclusion

Evaluating the investment value of heritage European musical instruments is a multifaceted endeavor that combines appreciation for history, engineering, and market dynamics. By considering elements such as provenance, artistic merit, condition, and brand legacy, investors can make informed choices. Market analysis and authentication are essential steps, ensuring that each acquisition is both a sound financial investment and a celebration of enduring musical artistry. The future of this market remains vibrant, with each instrument telling a unique story that resonates across generations.
