Tina Turner Heritage Days To Unveil Bronze Statue In Brownsville

0

Every year, fans globally flock to Brownsville, Tennessee, to honor the life and legacy of Tina Turner, the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll. The annual Tina Turner Heritage Days, held the fourth weekend of September, celebrates Turner’s music, story, and global influence with a weekend of performances, storytelling, community gatherings, and tours of her hometown and surrounding areas. This year’s celebration will be from September 26–28, and feature the unveiling of a larger-than-life bronze Tina Turner Statue in Brownsville’s Heritage Park on Saturday, September 27th at 10 am.

Commissioned by the City of Brownsville with the generous support of Ford Motor Company, acclaimed Atlanta-based artist Fred Ajanogha (Ajano Art) sculpted the seven-foot, nine-inch statue. The installation will face Carver High School, where Tina once attended and played basketball, creating a symbolic bridge between her humble beginnings in West Tennessee and her global cultural impact. This statue joins the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School, located at the West Tennessee Delta Heritage Center, as a cornerstone of Tina’s permanent legacy in the region.

In addition to the historic statue unveiling, Tina Turner Heritage Days 2025 will host a lineup of distinguished guests and performers.

Tina Turner Heritage Days also includes a guided exploration of Turner’s roots; fan gatherings and community events, and more.

This year’s celebration marks a milestone in honoring Tina Turner, ensuring that her spirit, strength, and music continue to inspire generations to come.

4 Non Blondes Announce Exclusive Los Angeles And San Francisco Club Shows This December

0

Iconic rock band 4 Non Blondes has announced two exclusive club shows in Los Angeles at The Roxy on December 15th and San Francisco at Great American Music Hall on December 17th. These performances mark a triumphant homecoming nearly 3 decades in the making and follow the band’s widely celebrated reunion and a string of successful festival appearances across the country. These limited club shows will bring the band back to the cities where it all began, offering both longtime and a new generation of fans the rare chance to experience 4 Non Blondes in an intimate setting.

Presales start tomorrow (Wed, Sept 24th) ahead fo the general sale on Friday, September 26th.

“4 Non Blondes has been having a great time playing all of these incredible festivals, but honestly, we are excited to get back to the clubs,” frontwoman Linda Perry says. “It’s where every band starts, you figure out what songs people like, learn about your mistakes, how to read the audience, most of all the audience gets a better understanding of who you are in this more intimate setting. My name is Linda Perry and I endorse this quote.”

4 Non Blondes’ debut album, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!, spent more than a year on the Billboard 200 after its release in 1992, going platinum and spawning the anthem, “What’s Up?,” ubiquitous on MTV at the time and still a rallying cry against those forces of quasi-political control in the name of personal freedom. The song entered the prestigious Spotify Billions Club in November 2024, while the video is currently closing in on two billion YouTube views. Despite their meteoric rise, 4 Non Blondes disbanded in 1994, with Perry going from her auspicious start in 4 Non Blondes to a wildly successful career as a songwriter, producer, label owner and, including such platinum records as Christina Aguilera’s “Beautiful,” Gwen Stefani’s “What You Waiting For?” and P!nk’s “Get the Party Started.”

In 2025, Perry reunited with her original band, 4 Non Blondes, which she first formed in the Bay Area in 1989, in the middle of an earthquake with co-founding bassist Christa Hillhouse. The two have now joined with drummer Dawn Richardson and guitarist Roger Rocha, both members of the original touring band, for the first time in more than 33 years.

Perry set up a rehearsal in San Francisco, which she deemed “awkward at first,” but after getting together and playing, it proved promising enough for Linda to write “a bunch of new songs, revisit some old ones, and bam, we have an album. It’s really that simple. They’re all phenomenal players and now they get a chance to show that. I couldn’t ask for a better band to play these songs.”

4 Non Blondes has confirmed that they will release a new studio album in 2026, their first new material since their acclaimed debut, Bigger, Better, Faster, More!

Omnium Gatherum Release ‘Walking Ghost Phase’ Ahead Of New Album ‘May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way’

0

As a last single before their new album May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way drops November 7, Finnish melodic death metal stalwarts Omnium Gatherum are releasing the ’80s-infused “Walking Ghost Phase” that comes with a visualizer video.

Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen says, “‘Walking Ghost Phase’ is about addiction in its many forms. It is about dullness defeating passion yet the addiction creating a fixation. It is a zombie-like state where one is forced to go through the destructive pattern repeatedly. Self-deception is one of the key topics in this song. How addiction lures one into thinking there is nothing wrong and then it consumes you. The title is a real term used when the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster happened in the ’80s. There were workers exposed to heavy radiation who obviously got sick from it. After a while, they seemed to be cured, but that was only a deception. Soon afterwards they just collapsed and passed away. That is why I linked the ‘Walking Ghost Phase’-state to the idea of addiction.”

Guitarist Markus Vanhala further comments, “Here’s the third OG single down the road – called ‘Walking Ghost Phase.’ This one represents the simpler, straight-forward banger side of the upcoming album; it gets your heads banging and fists pumping. I am really looking forward to playing this one live as it has a feel of an upcoming classic live anthem – luckily we have A LOT of shows coming up. Also fear not; there’s also gonna be some a bit more proggy or advanced stuff on the album. May the bridges we burn light the way!”

Nina Simone’s ‘A Single Woman: The Complete Elektra Recordings’ Arrives November 7 Via Omnivore Recordings

0

Omnivore Recordings has announced A Single Woman: The Complete Elektra Recordings, the definitive version of Nina Simone’s final studio album, out November 7th on CD and Double-LP. The release features eleven bonus tracks, four of which are previously unissued.

Nina Simone burst into the world with 1959’s Little Girl Blue, and music would never be the same. For over five decades, Nina entertained, enthralled, and educated listeners across her extraordinary recording and performance career.

After a triumphant concert at New York’s Carnegie Hall in 1992, Nina was approached by Elektra A&R executive Michael Alago (whose previous work at the label included Tracy Chapman and Metallica). When asked if Nina was ready to record again, she replied, “Get me the money… then we can talk!”

Modelled around two of Simone’s favourites, Frank Sinatra’s A Man Alone (The Words And Music Of Rod McKuen) and Billie Holiday’s Lady In Satin—with the common element that both were recorded with full orchestral accompaniment, the sessions began.

Backed by a 50-piece orchestra, Simone recorded the material that would comprise A Single Woman with producer Andre Fischer (Natalie Cole’s then-husband and former drummer for the band Rufus). The ten tracks chosen from the sessions were revelatory, weaving songs about love in the style only Nina Simone could conceive and deliver. Simone recorded more material during the sessions, including covers of Bob DylanPrinceThe Beatles, and Bob Marley, pointing to a potential follow-up, but, sadly, A Single Woman would be her final studio album before her passing in 2003.

A Single Woman was reissued in 2006, adding seven of those performances left behind. Now, four more previously unissued recordings from those sessions have been added to create A Single Woman: The Complete Elektra Recordings—21 tracks on CD and double-LP. Newly remastered, this collection also contains new liner notes from the British Ambassador of Soul, David Nathan, outlining both the recording of the album, but also recounting his nearly three-decade relationship with Dr. Simone—beginning when he formed the UK Nina Simone Appreciation Society in 1965.

Outlier Unleash Explosive New Single “Creature Of The Night” Ahead Of March 2026 Album ‘Screamiere’

0

Active rock force OUTLIER have unleashed their explosive new single, “Creature of the Night”, now available on all major streaming platforms. Alongside the release, the band has dropped the official music video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Tom Flynn (known for his work with Ice Nine Kills, Lamb of God, and All That Remains).

Speaking about the new release, Joey Arena shared:  “When meeting someone, especially romantically, people put on a pretty face and wear their Sunday’s best. But, what would happen if you approached it the other way, by starting off revealing the darker side of yourself, your most vulnerable and true form, your unapologetic self? There would be less of a phase, cause if your demons can play well together then you’re forever living in the ‘honeymoon phase’. Creature; although a more aggressive song, its a love song but not in the way most would expect.”

The single’s powerful production comes courtesy of Ricky Armellino (Ice Nine Kills, Hawk), with co-production by Justin DeBlieck (ex-Motionless in White), mixing by Chris Dawson, and mastering by Mike Kalajian.

The track serves as a preview of the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album, Screamiere, set for release in March 2026.

Honing in on a modern sound while consistently setting themselves apart from the mainstream, Outlier prides themselves in creating exemplary rock and metal music backed by a rapidly growing fanbase. Outlier has earned over 8 million on demand streams across DSP platforms as well as more than 6 million views of user generated content on YouTube alone. In addition to their loyal fan base, the band has caught attention through achieving features in major media outlets such as Revolver, Loudwire, Alternative Press, Decibel and ABC News.

Continually hitting the Billboard charts, Outlier has been able to spread their sound nationwide through constant spins on FM radio and months of regular rotation on SiriusXM Octane– launching them into the forefront of their genre. Outlier has had 6 singles featured on SiriusXM Octane; “Who We Are”, “Buried Me Alive”, “Blame The Dead”, “Living Dead”, “Heartless” and their latest, “Dead Man Running”, winning the hearts of satellite radio listeners across the country and emphasizes the bands ability to stay creative while maintaining an ever-growing fanbase.

Dogma Announce Explosive U.S. Headlining ‘Time To Be Free’ Tour With Select Dates Featuring A Killer’s Confession

0

Explosive and rebellious hard rock band DOGMA announce the U.S. headlining Time To Be Free tour. The tour kicks off October 23 in Anaheim, CA, and runs through November 23 in Westland, MI, including select co-headlining dates with A Killer’s Confession (the band led by Waylon Reavis, ex-Mushroomhead). Fans will also have the opportunity to join DOGMA face-to-face through limited Meet & Greet experiences, available now at www.officialdogma.com/meetngreet (please note that concert tickets are not included).

In honor of the season where shadows grow stronger, DOGMA unveils an exclusive Halloween presale at www.officialdogma.com/store. The collection features two limited-edition T-shirt designs, each package including the shirt of your choice, exclusive stickers, and a lanyard.

Lilith says, “America… your silence has starved too long. Now the veil is torn, and we return not as guests, but as the storm you begged for in whispers. We cross the American land as fire incarnate, carrying the weight of every sin you tried to bury.

This tour is called ‘Time To Be Free’ not only after our latest single, but also because freedom is the core of Dogma. To be free is to break the chains of obedience, to tear down imposed morality, to rise above the herd that fears the truth. On these nights, we will not perform; we will liberate. Our music and our word are the weapons in this cultural battle against the doctrines that seek to limit us all.

Halloween is revelation. The season when masks burn, when shadows rise, when truth stands exposed. For this rite, we forged two relics, garments for the faithful. They exist only for this season, then they vanish forever.

And to those who dare to stand before me,  the Meet & Greet is not a transaction; it is a covenant. Few will hold it. Even fewer will understand it.

The Time To Be Free is here. Burning, consuming, unstoppable. Confess. Submit. Or be erased. Your call.”

Worshippers can purchase tickets here: https://officialdogma.com/dogmaverse/.

Dogma recently released “Be Free,” a “lost” track from their debut album that marks a key moment in Lilith’s early transformation.

Dierks Bentley Launches ROW 94 Full Proof Bourbon At Green River Distilling Co.

0

Country music superstar Dierks Bentley introduces the boldest, smoothest, and most authentic in the ROW 94 bourbon lineup yet: ROW 94 Full Proof ($54.99/750ml). Just a year after ROW 94’s launch, the newest release was announced today at historic Green River Distilling Co. in Owensboro, Kentucky, where ROW is made in partnership with Lofted Custom Spirits. To celebrate, Bentley and the Green River team led guests on a tour of the distillery, followed by a musical performance and tasting of all three expressions of The Official Whiskey of Country™. ROW 94 Full Proof is available nationwide and online for purchase at ROW94whiskey.com.

“During the development of our ROW94 bourbon, I tasted it at full proof—and I instantly knew we had something special,” says Bentley. “There’s something raw and powerful about the uncut experience that really stuck with me. I love our flagship bourbon at 94 proof, but I’ve been looking forward to sharing this 120 proof expression with our fans ever since.”

Barreled at 120 proof and aged a minimum of four years, ROW 94 Full Proof is a full-throttle, uncut expression made from the same mash bill as the original – 70% Kentucky-grown corn, 21% rye, and 9% malted and row barley. Bottled from new American White Oak barrels with a Level 4 char, ROW 94 Full Proof embodies the grit, resilience, and genuine character that defines both country music and those who live its values. It’s already received a Gold medal in Fred Minnick’s 2025 Ascot Awards.

Featuring notes of vanilla, fresh tobacco, leather, and subtle clove on the nose, ROW 94 Full Proof is rich in honey sweetness on the palate, with touches of raisins, black pepper and a smoky oak finish that quickly transforms into toffee and dark chocolate.

Philip Sayce Announces 2026 UK Tour With New Live Release And Upcoming Studio Album

0

Philip Sayce returns in May/June 2026 for a nationwide UK tour fuelled with a brand-new live release and a forthcoming studio album that promises to raise the bar yet again.

In the lead-up to the tour, Sayce drops a unique live version of his anthemic track “Peace Machine,” recorded at the legendary Baked Potato in Los Angeles. “The message of Peace Machine rings even louder today than when I first recorded it,” says Sayce. “This live take with my band captures the fire, the intensity, and the raw spirit of the song – it sums up so much of what I’m seeing and feeling in the world right now.”

But that’s just the start. Sayce is deep in the studio between Toronto and Los Angeles, pushing his craft to new levels with a new album that blends raw intensity and refined soul. It’s the sound of an artist evolving – and hitting his stride like never before. “This album feels like a homecoming and an evolution all at once – it’s full of heart, grit, and everything I’ve lived since my last release,” says Sayce.

Sayce’s special guest on the tour is critically acclaimed British guitarist and singer songwriter Tom Moriarty. “Tom’s music appeals to fans of Ben Harper, Ray Lamontagne and Van Morrison,” says Guitarist magazine.

Sayce is no stranger to guitar accolades. “Philip Sayce stands on the edge of hard rock and psychedelia, slinging guitar riffs past your ears at warped speed,” says Rock and Blues Muse.

Philip’s 2024 studio album The Wolves Are Coming, received high praise from the UK music press, including interviews and album thumbs up reviews in music magazines including Classic Rock, Guitarist, Guitar Interactive, HRH, R’N’R, Blues Matters, and Blues in Britain.

From blistering fretwork to soul-stirring ballads, Sayce’s performances have earned raves from the likes of Blues Matters (“wild, energetic – a full-on experience”) and Raw Ramp (“Philip Sayce creates atmospheres with sonic textures. When the mood takes him, Sayce extends his fingers into the heavens and takes fire from the sun. Oh my!”).

Backed by bassist Sam Bolle and drummer Bryan Head, Sayce will draw from across his celebrated catalogue – The Wolves Are Coming, Spirit Rising, Peace Machine, Influence, Ruby Electric, and Steamroller – alongside material from the forthcoming 2026 album.

A protege of the late Jeff Healey and a long-time collaborator with Melissa Etheridge, Sayce has shared stages from Montreux Jazz Festival to Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Festival, leaving audiences stunned and critics scrambling for superlatives. Jon Bon Jovi once summed it up best: “Who the f** is that guitar player? Pretty fabulous, Philip.”
