Joanne Shaw Taylor Announces 2026 U.S. Spring Tour Following Deluxe Edition Of ‘Black & Gold’

0

British blues-rock star Joanne Shaw Taylor has announced a new run of U.S. headline dates for Spring 2026. Kicking off March 18th in Skokie, IL, the tour will bring Joanne’s powerhouse live show to fans across the East Coast and Southeast, including stops in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, and more.

A special artist pre-sale will go live at 10am local time today (9/23), followed by venue pre-sales on Wednesday, September 24th. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, September 26th at 10am local time. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit joanneshawtaylor.com/tour.

The tour announcement comes on the heels of Joanne’s Black & Gold (Deluxe Edition), which added three new acoustic recordings to her most critically acclaimed album to date – including the title track “Black & Gold (Acoustic),” released earlier this month. A stripped-down, soul-baring version of her blues-gospel interpretation of Sam Sparro’s pop hit, the acoustic single showcases Joanne’s gift for emotional reinterpretation and raw storytelling.

The Deluxe Edition also features newly recorded acoustic versions of fan favorites “Grayer Shade Of Blue” and “Hold Of My Heart,” continuing a run of singles that peel back the layers of Joanne’s songwriting and offer fans an intimate look at the album’s emotional core. Produced by Kevin Shirley (Black Crowes, Journey, Aerosmith), the original Black & Gold album blends blues, soul, Americana, and cinematic pop – and was widely praised as a career-defining moment.

“Black & Gold” was already a standout moment on the original album, praised for its emotional depth and musical transformation. The acoustic version peels away the layers, spotlighting Joanne’s expressive voice and delicate guitar work. With lyrics like “If you’re not really here, then I don’t wanna be either,” the track becomes a raw meditation on presence, purpose, and cosmic longing.

Classic Rock hailed Black & Gold as “a 9/10,” while Powerplay Magazine praised its “pop appeal and smoothness.” Guitarist magazine noted it “reinforces Joanne’s place in the firmament of today’s brightest stars,” and American Blues Scene called it “a deeply personal experience, showcasing the depth of Joanne’s artistry.”

The 2026 Spring U.S. Tour adds to Joanne’s busiest touring year yet, following a U.S. Spring 2025 run, summer festival appearances, and her ongoing Fall 2025 tours across the U.S. and Europe. Known for her fierce guitar work, smoky vocals, and emotionally charged performances, Joanne continues to captivate audiences worldwide with a live show that blends new material, fan favorites, and timeless blues.

Jon Bon Jovi To Be Inaugural Inductee Into Count Basie Walk Of Fame In Red Bank, New Jersey

0

Jon Bon Jovi will be one of the inaugural inductees into the new Count Basie Walk of Fame. The Walk of Fame is part of the 16-month centennial celebration for the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, New Jersey.

The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 25th, at 11 am and will be livestreamed via the venue’s Facebook page. Bon Jovi is confirmed to attend. The other inaugural inductee is the legendary jazz musician William James “Count” Basie himself, a Red Bank native for whom the venue is named.

Bon Jovi has a long history with the Count Basie Center for the Arts, having performed there numerous times. Additionally, his philanthropic organization, the JBJ Soul Foundation, operates the nonprofit community restaurant JBJ Soul Kitchen, which is located within walking distance of the venue.

The Count Basie Center for the Arts is a non-profit performing arts center with a rich history that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The building first opened on November 11, 1926, as the Carlton Theater, a vaudeville and movie house. After falling into disrepair, it was purchased and reopened in 1973 as the Monmouth Arts Center. In 1984, it was renamed the Count Basie Theatre to honor the legendary jazz musician William James “Count” Basie, a Red Bank native, who had passed away that year.

In 2018, the venue changed its name to the Count Basie Center for the Arts to reflect its expanded mission beyond just the main theater. The main theater itself was renamed the Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre. A multi-million dollar expansion in 2020 added a second performance space, The Vogel, and the Grunin Arts and Education Building.

The center is dedicated to providing diverse artistic and cultural experiences, and it has a robust arts education program that serves thousands of students each year.

The Count Basie Center for the Arts is a vital hub for culture and entertainment in the region, attracting over 300,000 patrons annually and continuing to play a significant role in the community. Over the years, the venue has hosted a wide range of famous artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Tony Bennett, and Ringo Starr.

Third Man Records will release a special 40th anniversary edition of the Jesus and Mary Chain’s milestone 1985 debut album, Psychocandy. One of the most important and watershed albums of all time, Psychocandy will be available via a new and ongoing partnership between The Jesus and Mary Chain and Third Man Records on standard black vinyl and limited-edition hot honey vinyl beginning Friday, November 14th. Both editions come packaged in a single pocket sleeve using the original album artwork, including the printed inner sleeve. Pre-orders are available now.

With equal influence gleaned from The Stooges and The Shangri-Las, The Velvet Underground and The Beach Boys, the Jesus and Mary Chain emerged from East Kilbride, Scotland, to unleash their debut masterpiece, Psychocandy, onto an unsuspecting world, and it is safe to say nothing has ever been the same. Originally released November 18, 1985, Psychocandy now returns louder than ever – perhaps even louder than any other record before or since.

0

National leaders, ministries, and everyday Americans will lend their voices to a historic, weeklong Bible-reading event at the Museum of the Bible, to commemorate America’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Actress, producer, New York Times bestselling author, and Great American Media Chief Creative Officer Candace Cameron Bure has been named one of the national spokespersons for America Reads the Bible (ARTB), a landmark event taking place in the nation’s capital from April 18-25, 2026. The entire Great American Media team is engaged in advancing the mission and message of this historic initiative that will feature voices from across the country reading Scripture, and uniting Americans around faith and the enduring power of the Bible.

Candace Cameron Bure, Great American Media Chief Creative Officer, has been named one of the national spokespersons for America Reads the Bible. This landmark event will take place at the Museum of the Bible from April 18-25, 2026.

“Candace has been a trusted voice for faith and family values for decades, and we’re honored to have her serve as a top spokesperson for America Reads the Bible,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media. “Recent tragedy has reminded us how important it is to come together around faith and prayer. Cameron Bure stars in and produces original, faith-forward entertainment, including Great American Christmas films. Her Christian faith and commitment to wholesome storytelling have made her a leading voice in family entertainment.

“Cameron Bure’s deep commitment to faith and family makes her a powerful advocate for this historic initiative,” said Bunni Pounds, founder of Christians Engaged, the organization spearheading ARTB. The event will be produced by Great American Media and streamed live on Great American Pure Flix.

The event was inspired by the biblical prophet Ezra, who read Scripture aloud to the Israelites. In a similar spirit, readers from diverse communities will narrate the Bible from Genesis to Revelation in a livestreamed program from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily over seven days.

“America Reads the Bible is an invitation for people across the nation to reflect on the Bible’s historic role in American life and its ongoing relevance to individuals and families today,” said Pounds.

Luciano Pavarotti’s ‘The Lost Concert – Live at Llangollen 1995’ to Be Released November 21

0

Nearly three decades after it was recorded, one of the most iconic voices in music history returns to captivate audiences once more. Mercury Studios is honored to announce the upcoming release of Pavarotti: The Lost Concert – Live at Llangollen 1995 on November 21st, available on Blu-ray, TVOD, and digital platforms.

This remarkable and previously unreleased performance by the legendary Luciano Pavarotti, recorded at the prestigious Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in 1995, will finally be available to fans globally. This historic concert captures Pavarotti at the height of his powers, performing with the BBC Philharmonic, soprano Atzuko Kawahara and Corale Rossini, offering a rare glimpse into an unforgettable evening of music, passion, and artistry.

This year marks what would have been the 90th birthday (October 12th) of one of the most iconic voices in music history – Luciano Pavarotti. To honor this milestone, Decca Records is spearheading Pavarotti 90, a worldwide tribute celebrating the tenor’s unmatched contribution to classical music, his international appeal, and his legacy of bringing opera to the masses. They will release this concert in full, alongside two never-before-heard tracks from 1955 – the earliest known recordings of his voice, aged just 19.

Keeping a long-held promise, Luciano Pavarotti returned to the small town in North Wales in 1995 to give a special gala concert at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, forty years after winning a singing competition as part of a choir from his hometown of Modena that changed the course of his life.

Additionally, Decca will release, on the same day, the audio component of The Lost Concert: Live from Llangollen 1995. The recording has been mastered with the latest technology and comes with a 100-page collector’s book filled with essays, photographs, and archive material. It also includes two original 1955 recordings of the Corale Rossini, Bonjour mon coeur, and In Nomine Jesu, believed to be the earliest surviving audio featuring Pavarotti’s voice, as well as a rare interview where he recalls his first visit to Wales.

German Black Metal Duo Mystic Circle Release New Single “The Bible of Witch Chase” From Upcoming Album ‘Hexenbrand 1486’

0

Germany’s iconic black metal force Mystic Circle have unleashed their brand-new single, “The Bible of Witch Chase”, taken from their upcoming studio album “Hexenbrand 1486”, set for release on October 31st, 2025 via ROAR! Epic and pitch-black in atmosphere, the track captures the sinister essence of the band’s vision: dark, unrelenting, and steeped in occult fire.

“The Bible of Witch Chase is the first part of our Heinrich Kramer trilogy”, the band comments. “Driven by distorted visions, he wrote the Malleus Maleficarum and condemned hundreds of innocent souls to death. This song takes you back to medieval times, where the screams of the innocent echoed as they were slaughtered by the servants of the Holy Church. Once again, it is a statement against an institution corrupted by greed and false piety. Musically, it is a dissonant, metal-influenced piece inspired by witchcraft, the inquisition, and the dark spirit of the Middle Ages.”

“Hexenbrand 1486” will be available on CD and Vinyl (both featuring a comic) as well as in Digital formats. In support, the band will be holding several signing sessions around the album release, find all upcoming dates and record store locations below!

“More serious, more respectful and more authentic” is the definition of the tenth MYSTIC CIRCLE epic “Hexenbrand 1486” – a statement that certainly applies to the formation’s attitude. “It’s a journey through time in the Mystic Circle universe”, A. Blackwar recently said. “The album is very varied and each song has its own dominance. We could release every track as a single and that says a lot about the strength of the longplayer.”

MYSTIC CIRCLE sound unmistakable, their trademarks are manifold and their hunger seems almost insatiable. What the duo has created in recent years is unparalleled and continues the legacy that the band created in the nineties with their classics “Drachenblut” (1998) and “Infernal Satanic Verses” (1999). MYSTIC CIRCLE themselves describe their style as melodic extreme metal, their very own mix of old-school death and black metal, traditional heavy metal of the eighties and horror soundtracks.

Since the unholy reunion between the two MYSTIC CIRCLE founders A. Blackwar and Beelzebub in 2021, the Germanic black metal wargods are stronger than ever. What began anew in 2022 with the self-titled “Mystic Circle” album and was rewarded with a sensational #78 place in the German album charts, was continued the following year with “Erzdämon” and now completed with “Hexenbrand 1486”.

“Hexenbrand 1486”, produced with Nils Lesser, is largely about the ‘Malleus Maleficarum’, the hammer of witches, which was written in Speyer/Germany in the year 1486. “We are lucky to live near well-known events and dark legends. Our Nibelungen cult “Drachenblut” comes from our region, as does the concept in the second part of the new record about Heinrich “Institoris” Kramer, the author of the Hexenhammer,” A. Blackwar explains.

“Heinrich Kramer embodies everything we hate about the holy institution of the church. He was a vile sadist who acted out his resentment towards women under the cloak of Christian scripture. The Hexenhammer is the work of a madman and should encourage everyone even more to leave the church and follow their own path of faith,” says Beelzebub.

The horror flair of the 80s already played a major role in the duo’s style on “Mystic Circle” and “Erzdämon”. On “Hexenbrand 1486” they consistently go one step further and add dark synth wave passages in appropriate places, with a comparable flair to legendary horror shockers and soundtracks by Dario Argento, who used synthesizers in his very own way.
