DD VERNI & THE CADILLAC BAND Release Festive Video for ‘I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas’

0

DD Verni & The Cadillac Band, known for blending rock ‘n roll energy and concise songwriting with suave, swinging throwback aesthetics, have released a new video today for their festive single, “I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas.” The high-energy track, taken from their current second album BUCKLE UP (2025), features a red-hot arrangement complete with searing guitar lines, a galloping rhythm, pumping horns, and infectious female backing vocals. The video combines vintage-inspired Claymation against live scenes filmed throughout Manhattan, capturing the spirit of NYC during the holidays.

Singer, songwriter, and guitarist DD Verni explained that a Christmas song was essential for their big band, ’50s rock sound. He was inspired after hearing his young niece perform the track, originally made famous by 10-year-old Gayla Peevy in 1953, and realized the potential for a “rockin’ big band version.” Verni enlisted Jim McMillen to create the horn arrangements, which, along with the extensive harmonies sung by Verni, Kingston, and Greystar, quickly “gelled together” into a fun holiday track. Verni described the video shoot, featuring their hippo mascot “Peevy,” as “a night of laughter and fun,” reflecting his love for the holidays and the unmatched atmosphere of Christmas in New York City.

Afro-Irish Duo BREEZY IDEYGOKE and ART OF ALGEBRA Drop New Trip-Hop EP, A Quantum Trip

Afro-Irish artist Breezy iDeyGoke and electronic producer Art of Algebra have unveiled their new four-track EP, A Quantum Trip. The EP is a heady, dark, and distinctive blend of styles and soundscapes, featuring tracks like the return single “Felonious Monk” and the critically praised “BST.” Art of Algebra noted that the unusual mix of sounds “probably shouldn’t blend together well, but it does for us,” attributing the success to Breezy’s compelling lyricism and energetic delivery. The duo’s commitment to visual art is central to the project, with their video for “BST” directed by Mark Smyth earning strong praise across Irish media and receiving international film festival nominations.

A Quantum Trip concludes with the pair’s first collaboration, “Praying on a Gamble,” a choice that Art of Algebra says allows their collected output to “flow together as one piece of work.” The EP also introduces the new brooding, bass-heavy track “So Many Steps from the End,” where Breezy reflects on faith and mortality. For iDeyGoke, the EP showcases “a different style” that opened up his emotional and lyrical range. The duo’s success is defined by carving out a recognizable, distinctive sound that listeners can instantly identify, establishing them as an innovative force in alternative music.

Pandora has revealed its highly anticipated annual list, “Artists to Watch 2026: The Pandora Ten,” identifying ten emerging artists across all genres poised to break through and shape the sound of the coming year. For the past decade, Pandora has utilized a combination of advanced listening data and human curation to accurately predict the launch of stars like Post Malone, Lizzo, Dua Lipa, Doja Cat, The Kid Laroi, and Tyla. The 2026 selections showcase artists whose voices embody the creativity, innovation, and passion of the future of music.

Steve Blatter, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Music Programming at SiriusXM and Pandora, affirmed the platform’s dedication, stating, “Powered by human tastemakers and data-driven listener insights, this year’s selections feature a variety of artists we believe are ready to break out and resonate in a big way.” The list reflects Pandora’s long-standing tradition as a destination for music discovery, continuing to elevate the next wave of breakthrough talent across the industry.

Colorado-born, Los Angeles-based singer Cil leads the R&B pop movement on the list. Her hard-hitting, yet hypnotic sound resonates strongly on Pandora, especially songs from her latest EP, Don’t Hold Me Accountable, as she tackles messy relationships and mental health with unflinching honesty. Joining her are Cortis, the first boy band to debut under BigHit Music in six years; their debut album, Color Outside the Lines, is already performing well, with the track “Go!” showing significant traction across the platform.

The list features significant talent from the rock and country scenes. Kami Kehoe, a 22-year-old Los Angeles–based singer, songwriter, and drummer, brings a chameleonic, hard-charged rock sound that has garnered 1.2 million Pandora streams and dedicated support on the hard rock flagship station, Decibel. On the country side, Gavin Adcock, the face of the country rock revival, has surpassed 135 million Pandora streams and was hand-selected by Morgan Wallen as direct support on his 2025 and 2026 tour runs, channeling a bold, rebellious Southern grit.

Global influence is represented by several artists. Producer Ian Asher has rapidly risen in the dance music scene with his signature house beats, gaining massive recognition with his viral remix of Jain’s “Makeba” and collaborations with Oliver Heldens and Galantis. Kane Rodriguez, a rising star from Houston, represents the new wave of regional Mexican music, connecting with a bicultural generation through authentic storytelling and sustained chart success on Pandora’s Activados station.

The final spots highlight a diverse range of genres and backgrounds. Memphis-based soul singer EJ Jones is rapidly emerging in the Southern soul genre, with his latest single “Gas Station Love” showcasing a powerful, timeless old-soul feel. Indie rock is represented by the thrilling Irish band Florence Road, whose strong social media following and oaky vocals have earned momentum with their songs “Break the Girl,” “Goodnight,” and “Miss.” Atlanta-based Pluto, who gained popularity from her 2025 viral single “Whim Whamiee,” is making her mark in hip-hop, while California-based worship leader Peter Burton shares a powerful message of hope through his Christian music.

Russ Releases Nostalgic Single ‘Do You Feel The Same,’ Inspired by a Personal Family Memory

Russ has released “Do You Feel The Same,” a thoughtful and nostalgic new single that explores the quiet pain of remembering a past love. The song combines gentle guitar with a steady kick, creating a bittersweet sound that is both soft and intense, perfect for moments of introspection. In the track, Russ embraces a vulnerable side, capturing the simple honesty of longing and the questions that arise when two people drift apart but still care. The lyrics, such as, “This city just reminds me of you, girl tell me if you feel the same,” show the bravery it takes to wonder if someone else shares your feelings.

The inspiration for “Do You Feel The Same” came from a personal experience Russ had with his divorced parents while visiting New York City, where their relationship began. Listening to his father remember the past, Russ ended up creating the song from his father’s point of view on the day of his parents’ engagement anniversary without even realizing it. This release is one of the latest contributions to the deluxe album rollout for The Elephant & The Rider, through which Russ is continually expanding the conversation around vulnerability and emotional honesty in rap.

STEFANO ATTUARIO Releases New Conceptual Album ‘Babele,’ An Intense Journey Through Darkness and Dissonance

Following the release of the singles “Insetti,” “Amen,” and “Arianna,” Stefano Attuario has unveiled his new and highly anticipated album, Babele. Produced by Max Zanotti (Elephant Man, Deasonika, Casablanca), Babele marks a significant artistic evolution in Attuario’s career, conceived as an intense conceptual work that explores human fragility, contradiction, and the search for redemption in contemporary society. Attuario describes the album as a personal state of “confusion and disorder,” where thoughts, words, and images pile up, demanding expression. He found that in this personal “Babel,” he was able to find “order in chaos” and a hidden beauty within dissonance, creating a nine-track emotional map where every fragment finds its place.

The production by Max Zanotti sculpts a powerful, cinematic soundscape where acoustic instruments and synthesizers create striking contrasts of light and shadow, merging rock, darkwave, and poetry into a coherent and evocative whole. Attuario, a singer-songwriter, writer, and musician from Como, confirms his ability to blend artistic disciplines, continuing the journey he embarked on after his experience with the band Dinamika and his acclaimed 2024 debut solo album, Nemesi. With Babele, Stefano Attuario solidifies his position as a forward-thinking artist who transforms vulnerability into expressive power and uses music as a means of personal rebirth.

Claiming the Top Single of 2025 is Alex Warren with the triple platinum track “Ordinary,” taken from his platinum debut album, You’ll Be Alright, Kid, proving his massive popularity.

The #RIAATopCertified list includes a total of 13 albums and 46 singles released in 2025. Drake earned the most certified titles overall with eight, including the double platinum single “Nokia” and seven gold collaborations with PartyNextDoor from their platinum album $ome $exy $ongs 4 U. Other noteworthy achievements include Cardi B’s album Am I The Drama?, which hit platinum immediately upon release and now stands at triple platinum, and Lil Tecca’s single “Dark Thoughts,” which achieved gold in just 56 days. Stray Kids were the only artists to achieve multiple certified albums with their gold-certified Hop and Karma.

The RIAA also inducted nine first-time artists across 13 singles into the #CLASSOF2025, with Olivia Dean earning the highest pop title for her platinum smash “Man I Need.” K-Pop sensations Ejae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami (the singing voices of Huntr/X) were the most certified recipients in the new class with three singles, including the double platinum “Golden.” Furthermore, the Premios de Oro y Platino program celebrated Latin music, recognizing Clave Especial and Edgardo Nuñez for the Year-End Top Latin Title and Single “Tu Tu Tu” (diamond-certified), and Beéle for the Top Latin Album, the quadruple platinum Borondo.
