Lewis Capaldi Unveils New Anthem “Something In The Heavens” Amid Triumphant UK Arena Tour

0

After weeks of teasing, and a simply triumphant return to touring after two years away, global superstar Lewis Capaldi now fully unveils his soul-stirring anthem in brand new single “Something In The Heavens”.

Written with songwriters Connor & Riley McDonough, ‘Something In The Heavens’ details loss in all its forms – but also the glimmers of hope that remain – and is yet another breathtaking example of Lewis’s extraordinary gift for cutting straight to the soul. “I’ll love you til my last breath, you’re gone but something in the heavens tells me that we’ll be together again,” he sings as he yet again effortlessly unearths every listener’s deepest emotions, holding you there in the moment, and not letting go.

teaser of the track dropped just ahead of Lewis’s current sold-out 17-date UK arena tour this month, sending fans into overdrive. Since debuting the song live, it’s been met with rapturous crowds in Sheffield, Aberdeen, Glasgow & London, already singing lyrics back – a powerful reminder of the connection he commands. The response to the tour has been electric, with critics unanimous in their praise, delivering four and five star reviews across the board, continuing tonight with the last of his three sold-out shows at London’s The O2 – which is being streamed on TikTok LIVE.

And now, whilst blazing through this triumphant 200,000-ticket UK arena tour, Lewis earlier this week announced his biggest ever UK & Irish headline shows for next summer. Kicking off at Dublin’s capacity Marlay Park on June 24th, 2026, Lewis will take on eight huge outdoor headline shows including London’s 65,000 capacity American Express presents BST Hyde Park on Saturday, July 11th.

Full dates below, with Pre-Sale tickets available now & General Sale from Friday September 19th @ 9.00am – both HERE.

Lewis’s return has already seen him top the charts, bagging a monumental sixth number 1 single with his comeback track ‘Survive’, to become the fastest selling single of 2025 and that success has also seen his biggest ever opening week sales for a single, surpassing both Sabrina Carpenter & Lady Gaga for this year’s biggest opening week singles, and he now joins esteemed company with the likes of Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Drake, Lady Gaga & Queen to achieve six UK number 1 singles, beating David Bowie, Katy Perry, The Police & more. He also made his way back Stateside, turning in special performances of the track on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon & Good Morning America.

A headliner-sized Pyramid Stage crowd embraced the emotion of Lewis’s return – one of the cultural moments of the year – for a powerful, hit-laden half-hour Glastonbury set. “I just wanted to come and finish what I couldn’t finish last time,” said Lewis. That he emphatically did, with his soaring vocals leading the crowd through classics, as well as a first live showing for ‘Survive’, and a unifying performance of ‘Someone You Loved’.

Prior to his comeback Lewis played a run of Scottish warm up shows in May that saw him return to the stage as a guest of mental health charity CALM, in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week. With no pressure, and no level of expectation, the shows allowed Capaldi the space to gauge his comfort and emotional response before returning to the spotlight – a move which ended up proving nothing short of a triumph.

Lewis’ last release, the hit-stacked record Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent, scored him his second UK number 1 album, creating another three heartbreaking UK number 1 singles, ‘Pointless’‘Wish You The Best and the Platinum-certified ‘Forget Me’, working with hitmakers including Max Martin (Taylor Swift, The Weeknd), Malay (Lorde, Frank Ocean), and longtime collaborator Phil Plested (James Bay, Bastille).

The album also gained widespread critical acclaim from the likes of The Guardian, New York Times, NME, Rolling Stone, GQ, Stereogum & many more. It also topped airplay charts, smashing an impressive 95,000 units, outselling the rest of that week’s Top 10 combined, as well as outselling first week sales of his own monumental debut album Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent.

April 2023 saw the global Netflix release of Lewis’ compelling, raw and honest feature-length, GRAMMY®-nominated music documentary ‘Lewis Capaldi: How I’m Feeling Now’ – available to watch on the platform now. The documentary shot straight to the top of the Netflix chart, making it the most watched film on the platform since its release.

Lewis’ subsequent success stems back to 2019’s multimillion selling debut Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent, which propelled Capaldi from bedroom musician to superstar. Few had seen a debut release quite like it, becoming the biggest selling UK album of both 2019 & 2020, spawning two UK number 1 singles, bagging a few BRITs and a GRAMMY® nomination, with one of those number 1’s becoming a smash hit on both sides of the globe in ‘Someone You Loved’, which as well as recently going 10x Platinum, is also the UK’s most streamed song of all time & the world’s fourth highest ever streamed song.

After weathering the kind of storm that few can prepare for, Lewis Capaldi’s return has brought a renewed sense of purpose, proving that even in the darkest moments, there’s still strength in showing up. As he continues to mark a new era, Lewis has returned even stronger, heart wide open, and ready to step out again.

LifeSize (Scott Marshall) Releases New Pop-Rock Single “California Home”

0

Singer-songwriter Scott Marshall, performing under the name LifeSize, releases his new single “California Home” today. The upbeat pop-rock track is both a love letter to and a reckoning with his home state, written in the aftermath of surviving a Southern California wildfire.

Marshall, who came of age in Seattle’s vibrant music scene, grew up on a mix of The Beatles, Hendrix, Sonic Youth and local legends Screaming Trees, influences that shaped the eclectic sound he now carries into his Los Angeles–based work.

Produced by Grammy-winning producer Dave Darling and Marshall himself, “California Home” draws inspiration from California icons like the Beach Boys while also nodding to the modern pop-rock stylings of Maroon 5 and The Neighbourhood. The single is the fourth release leading up to LifeSize’s eponymous album, “LifeSize,” set for Oct. 17.

“‘California Home’ is a song I wrote in the wake of surviving a Southern California wildfire,” said Marshall. “I was struggling with my love affair for California and wanted to write a personal, reflective and observational song about what it means to me to be a Californian.”

The lyrics highlight both the beauty and contradictions of life in the Golden State, moving from coastal imagery to traffic-weary musings, while carrying a distinctly uplifting tone.

Marshall reflects, “Bus tires drone on a flat Midwest lane / Makes you ache for the crack of a breaking wave,” underscoring the tension between leaving California and the longing to return I tried to write unvarnished, yet uplifting lyrics to music that gives homage to great California bands.”

The track doubles as a sweeping portrait of California. With nods to the state’s vast landscapes, Marshall sings, “Sing: Sierra, Joshua … No matter where I roam, it’s my home, California home,” anchoring the song’s chorus in both pride and yearning.

Scott Marshall, the artist behind LifeSize, came of age in Seattle during a cultural boom that shaped his creative foundation. Growing up between households after his parents’ divorce, he absorbed a wide spectrum of sounds, from The Beatles and Hendrix to Sonic Youth and Screaming Trees, influences that continue to inform his expansive pop-rock sound.

After relocating to California following years of travel, Marshall began releasing music under the name LifeSize with Grammy-winning producer Dave Darling. The three critically acclaimed albums he’s released so far have earned national airplay on KCSN, KEXP, and The Krush, and won praise from critics for his blend of roots-rock storytelling and genre-crossing ambition. His breakout album, “Woolsey,” doubled as a tribute to California and a fundraiser for wildfire recovery, with proceeds benefiting Direct Relief.

With a voice both intimate yet expansive, Marshall continues to craft music that’s timeless and resonant. “California Home,” out now, is the fourth single leading up to his forthcoming album, “LifeSize,” due Oct. 17, 2025.

This Emmy-nominated series is one of Netflix’s longest unscripted series and combines Rosenthal’s love of food and travel with his unique brand of humor and has become must-see TV for foodies, restaurateurs, travelers, and armchair enthusiasts all over the world. Rosenthal has been nominated for a 2024 Critics’ Choice Real TV Award, after winning Critics Choice Real TV Awards in 2022 and 2021 for “Best Travel/Adventure Show” and “Male Star of the Year” on behalf of the series. He also garnered a 2022 James Beard Award nomination for “Visual Media—Long Form.”

Most recently, Rosenthal embarked on his highly anticipated second European tour, “An Evening With Phil Rosenthal” where he shared insights into his 40-year entertainment career, while incorporating his love of food, storytelling, and humor to audiences overseas. He also invited special guests to be moderators on stage, ranging from local celebrities to famous chefs. With the success of this tour, it is sure to expand into a second US tour.

Up next, Rosenthal will also make a significant mark in the culinary world with the opening of his diner, Max & Helen’s, in Los Angeles this year. Named after his beloved parents, who were beloved series regulars in “Somebody Feed Phil,” the dishes will not only be elevated by great ingredients but the brilliance of Executive Chef Nancy Silverton.

Following a resounding call from fans, Rosenthal created a companion book to the series, “Somebody Feed Phil The Book” which was released in the US on October 20th, 2022, via Simon Element (an imprint of Simon & Schuster). It immediately landed on the New York Times Best Seller list, which then led to a UK release in January 2023 and a multi-country tour selling out venues across the globe.

In 2024, his new children’s book, “JUST TRY IT: A Phil and Lil Book,” co-written with his daughter, Lily. Released on March 5, 2024, the hilarious children’s picture book about a food-loving dad encouraging his picky eater daughter to just try something new. This once again put Rosenthal on the New York Times Best Seller list, leading to his second national book and live tour, both of which packed bookstores and theatres from coast to coast, including a sold-out crowd at The Beacon in New York City.

Rosenthal is set to expand his literary reach with a second cookbook “Phil’s Favorites,” available for pre-order now and releasing on November 4th, 2025. It is more than just a cookbook; it’s a celebration of food, family, and friendship incorporating recipes from his family and friends including Judy Gold and Anna Romano.

Rosenthal has further expanded his love of humor, food, and human connection through a podcast called “Naked Lunch.” Launched in May 2022, his podcast is live on Stitcher, SiriusXM’s mobile app, and wherever podcasts are available. Co-hosted with his friend and longtime Rolling Stone journalist David Wild, each episode of this weekly talk-show podcast features a special, world-renowned guest to discuss what’s going on in their lives – “an informal meeting of wits, minds and hearts” – while eating lunch from some of Phil’s favorite local LA eateries.

Rosenthal was born in Queens, New York, and moved with his parents and brother to New City, New York, in Rockland County, where he was raised. After graduating from Hofstra University on Long Island, where he majored in theater, he embarked on a career as an actor, writer, and director in New York City. In 1989, he relocated to Los Angeles.

In 1995, Rosenthal created the hit CBS comedy “Everybody Loves Raymond” which premiered the following year. He served as the showrunner and executive producer for all nine years of the show’s very successful run, which ended in 2005. During its original run, the show was nominated for over 70 Emmy Awards, and won 15 awards, including two for “Best Comedy Series” in 2003 and 2005. Rosenthal won the 2002 Writers Guild Award for “Excellence in Television Writing” for his “Italy” script. After the series wrapped, Rosenthal penned a book on the art of comedy and the making of a sitcom classic. YOU’RE LUCKY YOU’RE FUNNY: HOW LIFE BECOMES A SITCOM was published in 2007 via Penguin Publishing Group. His early writing credits include the comedy series “DOWN THE SHORE” and “Coach.”

Rosenthal also co-wrote “America: A Tribute to Heroes,” the 9/11 telethon which aired on all four networks in September 2001, for which he won a Peabody Award and an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Writing.” Rosenthal then went on to write, direct, and star in his first feature film for Sony Pictures. EXPORTING RAYMOND, the true story about the attempt to turn “Everybody Loves Raymond” into a Russian sitcom, was met with critical acclaim upon its release in October 2010.

In 2015, Rosenthal embarked on a new journey by creating his first travel food series “I’ll Have What Phil’s Having.” This PBS documentary series, which is the precursor to “Somebody Feed Phil,” received two Taste Awards and won the 2016 James Beard Award for “Best Television Program, on Location.”

In October 2020, Rosenthal launched Somebody Feed the People, an initiative of the Rosenthal Family Foundation that supports organizations making an impact and building community through food. This inclusive and non-partisan initiative partners with organizations across the U.S. that address food access and insecurity, support chefs and restaurant workers, create employment pathways, and strengthen the health of our food systems. This foundation is ongoing yearly.

Rosenthal continued his philanthropic efforts in 2022, serving alongside Katie Couric and Jeff MacGregor as an executive producer of the documentary FOR LOVE AND LIFE: NO ORDINARY CAMPAIGN. The film follows Brian Wallach and Sandra Abrevaya, a couple battling ALS and leading a revolutionary movement to help victims of the disease around the world. “For Love and Life” went on to win awards at the SXSW Film Festival, the Chicago International Film Festival, and the Virginia Film Festival.

Rosenthal lives in Los Angeles with his wife, actress Monica Horan (who played Amy on “Everybody Loves Raymond”), and their two children. More information can be found at: https://www.philrosenthalworld.com/

Extreme Release Cinematic Video for “X Out” from Sixth Album ‘Six’

0

Extreme has released its 11th video for its sixth studio album, Six. The clip for “X Out” is available now via earMUSIC. The video amplifies the song’s haunting imagery and themes of faith, meaning, and mortality.

“This song was always sonically cinematic to me. It instantly conjured up images of Mad Max, Dune,” says guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.

Singer Gary Cherone explains, “The lyric is a lamentation, captured in a nightmare reflecting on the fleeting nature of life and the question of meaning in the face of the inevitable.”

The album propelled the band to new heights, driven by standout singles such as “Rise,” “Banshee,” and “Other Side of the Rainbow,” and supported by a globe-spanning tour across the U.S., Europe, the U.K., India, Japan, and Australia.

Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt also reaffirmed his stature as one of rock’s most commanding players with a historic performance at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert. That milestone appearance led to his invitation to serve as music director and guitarist at the 2025 MTV VMAs, where he delivered a powerhouse tribute to Osbourne alongside Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud.

Charley Crockett Covers “Bad Company” with Haunting Americana Twist for Tribute Album

0

One of today’s most authentic and fast-rising voices in Americana and country music, Charley Crockett has released his rendition of the classic, “Bad Company.” The song is the latest from the forthcoming tribute album, Can’t Get Enough: A Tribute to Bad Company, to be released October 24th via Primary Wave Music.

Outlaw country troubadour Charley Crockett brings grit, soul, and swagger to his cover of “Bad Company.” Known for his genre-blending style that fuses vintage country, blues, and Americana, Crockett delivers a haunting and heartfelt interpretation that feels both timeless and unmistakably his own. With a voice steeped in storytelling and defiance, Charley’s version taps into the song’s renegade spirit, reimagining it through the lens of the American West and his own life experiences: playing his pawn-shop guitar on the streets of New Orleans, hitchhiking, and riding freight trains north until he found himself busking on the streets of New York in 2009.

“What a song. Never imagined I’d be asked to cut a Bad Company tune, especially this one,” says Crockett. “I grew up cranking the volume anytime it was on a classic rock station in Texas. Still do. It’s an untouchable and timeless song. I only hope I can do it some justice.”

“Bad Company” was produced by Grammy-winning Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker) and Crockett at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles. Legendary bassist, Darryl Jones – known for powering The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, and Sting – brings his iconic groove to the track.

The all-star tribute album features legendary and contemporary artists from rock, country, and Americana, genres deeply influenced by Bad Company, including Hardy, The Pretty Reckless, Joe Elliott and Phil Collen from Def Leppard, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Charley Crockett, Halestorm, and more, offering fresh takes on the band’s iconic songs. Bad Company was founded by Mick Ralphs and Paul Rodgers in 1973.

The album kicked off with The Struts’ rendition of “Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy,” followed by Blackberry Smoke releasing their version of “Run with the Pack” last month with Rodgers, and this week’s Dirty Honey cover of “Rock Steady.”

Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke will join host Steve Harkins on TalkShopLive’s Rock & Roll channel on Thursday, October 9th at 7 pm ET to talk about their 50th anniversary and upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction as well as the exciting new tribute album.

Lettuce Preview Upcoming Album ‘Cook’ with Funky, Hip-Hop Infused New Single “Breathe”

The legendary funk sextet Lettuce have been teasing the forthcoming release of their latest full-length offering, Cook, due December 3, 2025 via the band’s own Lettuce Records. With the lead single “Gold Tooth,” and most recently their cover of the Keni Burke classic “Rising to the Top,” the band’s signature blend of all-organic, additive free funk is on full display.

Today, they’re thrilled to share the latest sneak peek at the album with new song “Breathe,” a blissed-out track tinged with a retro hip-hop vibe to match.Eric “Benny” Bloom, speaking on the origins of “Breathe,” says “This is my favorite song on the record.

“I can just see myself strutting down the streets of NYC on a brisk October night, thinking of all the possibilities my future holds if I just listen to myself and breathe.”

The band’s Adam Deitch says the band “Needed a chill, hip hop flavored joint. This is what came out of me.” For his part, Erick “Jesus” Coomes says “Life is a gorgeous gift that when looked at from a childlike perspective of wonder can constantly amaze and astound us. Breathe it in. Let your loving energy go out to all – it will always return to you.”

Mimi Webb Shares Intimate Video for “I Met A Boy” from Sophomore Album ‘Confessions’

0

British pop sensation Mimi Webb unveils the official music video for “I Met A Boy,” the radiant single from her sophomore album Confessions (Epic Records), out now. Directed by Avesta Keshtmand, the visual captures Mimi at her most intimate and playful, balancing carefree joy with moments of self-reflection. Shot across cozy apartments, bustling city streets, and sunlit cafes, the video unfolds like a peek into Mimi’s personal camera roll – equal parts spontaneous and cinematic.

Speaking about “I Met A Boy,” Mimi reveals, “‘I Met a Boy’ is probably one of the more unique songs on the album. I had so much fun trying out a more R&B sound, which hasn’t really influenced my music until now, and I’m definitely excited to explore it further in my future work. We’ve all flirted with someone, only to find out they’re already in a relationship, so I hope this song feels relatable to many.”

Released last week, Confessions marks Mimi Webb’s boldest and most personal body of work to date. Written and recorded between Los Angeles and London, the album is an honest exploration of heartbreak, empowerment, and self-discovery, while delivering the soaring pop songs that first put her on the map.

With songs like the biting empowerment anthem “Narcissist,” the playful “Love Language,” and the emotional centerpiece “You Don’t Look At Me The Same,” the record cements Mimi as one of pop’s most compelling voices. “I Met A Boy” serves as one of its most luminous highlights, showcasing her candid lyricism and a new R&B-influenced edge.

“I am so proud of this album. Confessions has helped me grow both as a person and as an artist,” Mimi explains. “The themes I was able to explore through these songs taught me so much about myself and gave me real confidence. I’m also incredibly proud of the creative side of this record – every video, every photoshoot holds so much of me. This project, as a whole, is the most authentically ‘me’ thing I’ve ever done.”
