Dance Gavin Dance Release New Album ‘Pantheon’ With “The Stickler” Video

0

Dance Gavin Dance have shared a new music video for “The Stickler” to celebrate the release Pantheon, their highly anticipated 11th studio album. Featuring recent singles “Space Cow Initiation Ritual (feat. George Clinton)”, “Trap Door”, “All The Way Down”, and “Midnight at McGuffy’s”, Pantheon sees the band building on their signature genre defying sound with soul shredding breakdowns, pop infused melodies, and frenzied screams.

Front man Jon Mess shares: “I had a lot of fun making this record, tried out some new things, experimented with layering and tone. We wrote the majority of the vocals together in a room, and I think that played a significant part in how a lot of the more risky and off the wall ideas developed. Reminded me of making Death Star and Acceptance Speech, and a little of Dbm 2, transitionary albums that feel a bit more all over the place than other albums, as the band figures out how it wants to sound again. With that being said I do I think this is one of our better albums.”

Earlier this year Dance Gavin Dance wrapped up the headlining Return Of The Robot Tour with special guests The Home Team, Belmont, and Dwellings. The North American run included sold out performances in Philadelphia, New York, Worcester, Toronto, Charlotte, and more. Fans can catch them at the top of next year on the E.N.D. Cruise, departing from Miami on January 22nd.

Rock legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Glenn Hughes returns to announce his new studio album ‘Chosen,’ out now via Frontiers Music Srl. To celebrate the announcement, Glenn shares the title track, along with an accompanying music video.

In addition, this year will also see Glenn Hughes busy touring across Europe and South America, with “The Chosen Years” tour starting in Zoetermeer, Netherlands, on September 2nd, and ending on November 29th in Bogota, Colombia.

Commenting on the new album, Glenn states: “Songwriting is deeply personal to me, and l generally write and record when I have something to say. It’s been nine years since I recorded my last solo album, ‘Resonate.’ There have been recordings and collaborations with other artists since 2016.

“When writing ‘Chosen,’ I went back to my life drawing board, writing about the human condition, love, hope, faith, and acceptance. I write about how I feel on the inside and not externally. My life is lived from within, in the present moment. It’s an album of soul food, and I’ve never been so grateful, right here, on planet earth. Music is the healer!”

42 Dugg Drops “It Get Deeper Pt. 3” Featuring Doughboy Clay With New Visuals

0

One of hip hop’s biggest superstars, 42 Dugg, has returned with the latest entry in his fan-favorite series, “It Get Deeper Pt. 3” featuring Doughboy Clay.

The song features Dugg rapping about street life and navigating the pressures that come with it while building on his blossoming rap career. The release comes with an accompanying music video directed by Paradice Media, offering fans an inside look at Dugg’s life on the road. The visuals capture Dugg and his team vibing out, playing basketball, attending events, and enjoying the fruits of their hard work.

The new track continues the narrative of Dugg’s acclaimed “It Get Deeper” series, which began in 2020, showcasing the Detroit rapper’s unfiltered storytelling and raw energy. With Doughboy Clay’s signature style complementing Dugg’s piercing lyrics, the track is a testament to the rapper’s consistency and dominance in the rap game.

“It Get Deeper Pt. 3” follows a string of successful releases from Dugg, including the hard-hitting single “We Not Done,” whose music video showcased Dugg riding ATVs and dirt bikes throughout his hometown of Detroit while also hitting up clubs and bringing fans into his world of ambition and success. That release further cemented Dugg’s reputation as one of the most dynamic voices in hip-hop today.

Beyond new music, Dugg has been actively connecting with fans on a national scale. He recently completed a 20-city tour supporting his debut studio album, 4eva Us, Neva Them, which features collaborations with Lil Baby, Meek Mill, Sexyy Red, Jeezy, EST Gee, Rylo Rodriguez, and Blac Youngsta. The album includes standout tracks such as “Fresh From The Feds,” “Catch 1,” “Go Again Pt 2,” and “4eva Us Freestyle,” giving listeners an intimate look into the life of the 29-year-old Detroit native.

Dugg also performed a special Memorial Day Weekend concert in Detroit alongside artists like Lucki, YK Niece, Drego & Beno, and more, following his sold-out “Welcome Home” show at Little Caesars Arena, which featured Yo Gotti, Lil Durk, GloRilla, Boosie, Big Boogie, and other top acts.

Sam Burchfield Shares New Single “Morning Light” Ahead Of Album ‘Nature Speaks’ Out October 24

0

Sam Burchfield has shared a new single. Americana Highways premiered “Morning Light,” noting, “With hushed acoustic guitar and introspective reflective vocal style, this song is a daydream of pondering in the sunrise of the morning light. Strings crescendo like a true sunrise and the effect is subtle yet glorious.” Burchfield recorded the song at home in the middle of the night, stirred awake by an unnerving impulse. “I was dealing with a medical issue at the time, worrying about what it could mean for my family.” The song softly buzzes with the white noise of a sleeping household, Burchfield’s vocals hushed and heavy, delivering an unconventional lullaby. “I was writing a message of comfort to myself when I needed it,” he says. The Blue Ridge Mountains songwriter will release his new full-length ‘Nature Speaks’ on October 24 via Cloverdale Records.

Recorded in just five days at Studio 1093 in Athens, Georgia with co-producers Ryan Plumley and Jason Kingsland (Delta Spirit, Deerhunter), Sam Burchfield’s sixth album is his most stripped-down and spirit-forward to date. The songs came together during a momentous new phase of fatherhood, a reckoning with changing priorities, and a beautiful submission to a steadier, rooted life.

“Just before we recorded, I was in New York City on tour,” Burchfield shares. “My wife was at home, pregnant with our second child. I was taking a walk through Washington Square Park, feeling this hyper-vivid awareness of the beauty of the city, and at the same time, this intense pain of being away from my family.” Just then, a man sitting at a public space piano began playing the song Burchfield’s partner walked down the aisle to at their wedding. Coincidence or cosmic wink, it stirred Burchfield’s soul. “It felt like walking through a portal.”

For Burchfield, like many of us, it took a moment of poignant distance to illuminate his place of utmost belonging—back in the Blue Ridge Mountains, among his family. And with that radical clarity came a revitalized artistic confidence, a turning point in accepting and trusting his own musical intuition, the intuition from which Nature Speaks beautifully emerges. Read the full bio here.

Today’s release follows recent singles “Spirit of the Night,” “Stay (Betty Blue)” and “Holiday,” and “Make Change.”’ Burchfield’s career has spanned countless national tours, critical praise from The Bluegrass Situation and Creative Loafing among others, and opening slots for the likes of CAAMP, St. Paul & The Broken Bones, David Shaw of The Revivalists and more. Burchfield will share the new music on tour this fall; shows are detailed below.

Gena Britt Announces First Solo Album In Six Years ‘Streets, Rivers, Dreams & Heartaches’

0

She’s a founding member of one of the hottest bands in bluegrass, but Sister Sadie’s Gena Britt has a stellar reputation of her own that goes back more than 30 years. Now, the acclaimed banjo picker — she’s nominated again for the IBMA’s Banjo Player of the Year award — and singer has partnered with Mountain Home Music Company to release her first solo album in nearly six years. And while Streets, Rivers, Dreams & Heartaches has plenty of the virtuosic picking and soulful vocals for which she’s been known for decades, her latest collection shows an artist who’s continued to grow and stretch her horizons in new directions, too.

The album is now available for pre-save/add ahead of its November 7 release.

“I am so grateful to Mountain Home for believing in me and allowing me to create this music that I’m so very proud of,” Britt enthuses. “The musicians and singers that I assembled for this project sound so good together! We first played in an all-star configuration at the Station Inn, and it was so much fun that I wanted to continue that in the studio. These guys and gals truly poured their hearts and souls into these songs, and I cannot wait for the world to hear them!”

“All-star” is no exaggeration, for the core team Britt put together includes award-winning fiddler Jason Carter and his one-time Travelin’ McCourys/Del McCoury Band mate Alan Bartram (acoustic bass, harmony vocals), stunning singer-guitarist John Meador (Vince Gill Band) and rising star Jonathan Dillon on mandolin, supplemented with contributions by East Nash Grass’s Jeff Partin (resonator guitar), Dillon’s Red Camel Collective bandmate and award-winning singer, Heather Berry Mabe, Balsam Range’s Caleb Smith, The Isaacs’ Ben Isaacs and old-time banjoist Tina Steffey.

With no shortage of material on hand — a veteran songfinder, she had a wealth from which to choose — Britt has put together an artfully varied collection, starting with the opener (and focus track), “What Kind of Memory Will You Be.” There’s burnished bluegrass, of course, including the driving “Heading Back to Heartache,” the classic-sounding gospel quartet, “Stone of Faith” and the mournful Caleb Smith lead, “Bend In The River,” along with a pair of banjo-led instrumentals in the venerable yet under-recorded “Welcome to New York” and Britt’s own brooding “Streets of Wenatchee.” Yet there are some, like the glistening ballad, “Just Like You,” Sarah Jarosz’s bluesy “Everything To Hide” and the Jason Carter-led swing of “Dear Departed” that defy expectations. Too, there’s the moving invocation of her father’s memory in Britt’s original, “He Likes to Fish,” that’s already seen widespread airplay.

The result is a collection that offers a well-rounded portrait of an artist grounded in the personal authenticity of the bluegrass she’s spent a lifetime mastering — and contributing to — yet unafraid to explore new dimensions in her creative quest. Streets, Rivers, Dreams & Heartaches makes a compelling case that Gena Britt is just now reaching the peak of her musical powers.
