Blackbriar Release New Single “Harpy” from New Album ‘A Thousand Little Deaths’

0

Macabre raconteurs Blackbriar are proud to release their latest single, the soaring ‘Harpy‘. The track weaves a tale about the mythological being, the Harpy – the spirit of the wind and storms, a chilling creature who was known to abduct people, particularly those cursed by the gods.

A video will be following in the coming days. Vocalist Zora Cock comments, “In this song, I call upon a Harpy to please carry me away after I’ve died a thousand little deaths. I lure it with my carrion heart, after all, Harpies are known as human vultures. If not, I fear I might be stuck in the same place, slowly left eroding. I need to die one last time to be laid to rest finally. This song, Harpy, inspired the album title.”

Dirty Pagans Unleash New Single “Killer in the Night” from Upcoming Album ‘Forever High’

0

Rattling venues and ruffling leathers since 2016, Adelaide’s DIRTY PAGANS have been on a fearless mission to smear their gritty, thick, hard rock energy across every stage they storm. Now they unleash ‘Killer in the Night’, a dark, brooding track exploring repression, identity, and violence—told through the story of a knife murder in a subway. With a heavier, sinister edge, it marks a bold shift for the band.  This marks the second track to be released from their new album ‘Forever High’. It’s a full-throttle dose of huge riffs, dirty grooves, and unapologetic volume.

Self-dubbed riff ’n’ roll, Dirty Pagans deliver thunderous grooves, razor-sharp guitars, soaring vocals, and a rhythm section that hits like a sledgehammer. Fresh from a national tour support slot with Glenn Hughes of Deep Purple fame, the band is charging forward at full force. With the addition of powerhouse drummer Gareth Briggs, their live energy has never been more explosive.

Vocalist Matty Dee comments: “We’re very happy to be dropping our second slice of Riff ‘N’ Roll, ‘Killer in the Night’! We’ve had a lot of great feedback from the first dingle ‘Forever High’ and looking forward to everyone wrapping their ears around the whole album soon. For now, sit back, turn it to 10 and enjoy Killer in the Night!”

It has been over forty years since Tony Hadley first released music with his former band, Spandau Ballet. From his beginnings at the forefront of the New Romantic movement, Tony earned himself the accolade of being one of pop’s greatest vocalists. Spandau Ballet had numerous chart-topping singles and albums all over the world, including the epic Through the Barricades, the international number one True, and the unofficial London Olympics theme, Gold.

As a solo artist Tony has performed across the world both with his band, swing bands, and orchestras. In 2018, Tony released Talking To The Moon, The album was incredibly well received, became BBC Radio 2’s Album Of The Week and the 1st single Tonight Belongs To Us was Single Of The Week.  In early 2024 he returned to his love of swing music and released The Mood I’m In – featuring songs from his 2007 album Passing Strangers, remastered them and added 5 additional tracks including a new song ‘Walk Of Shame’.   Later this year he will be releasing a new swing album and in 2026, fans can expect a new solo contemporary album.

In 2019 he was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours List for his services to charity.

Andy and the Rockets Announce New Album ‘CASINO’ and Release Explosive Single “Cyanide”

0

Sweden’s Rock force Andy and the Rockets are back with a brand new single, ‘Cyanide’, further solidifying their place in the contemporary Hard Rock landscape. The song is taken from their upcoming full-length album ‘CASINO’, set for release on October 10, 2025.

After kicking off 2025 with the emotionally charged “I’ll Die If You’re Done” (April 25) and the infectious anthem “Wild Ones” (May 16), the band continues its upward trajectory with “Cyanide”, a track that encapsulates the band’s signature fusion of Classic Rock roots and contemporary power.

The bassist Filip Westgärds declared: “Cyanide is a song about chasing the high of something you can’t control. It’s the thrill of passion wrapped in destruction, where every touch pulls you deeper and the line between love and self-destruction has completely blurred. In the autumn of 2024, Andreas Nyström sent me a draft of the lyrics, and I did all the melody and finished the song. We sent the demo to Erik Mårtensson and he made the song even better! After hitting the studio with the rest of the boys it truly feels like a real Rockets anthem!”

Andy and the Rockets have come a long way since their early days, when their sound leaned toward retro Rock’n’Roll and rockabilly influences. Over the past few years, they’ve undergone a compelling transformation, blending their vintage soul with a punchy, modern rock approach that draws comparisons to acts like Foo Fighters, Volbeat, and Eclipse.

Their 2023 album INCOGNITO was a breakout moment, featuring standout tracks like “In VainBlack Heart Gold”, and “I’ll Be There For You”. The record earned them strong streaming numbers, chart placements, and heavy rotation on Swedish Radio, where one of their singles became one of the most played songs of the decade.

With millions of streams and a growing international fanbase, the band has proven they’re more than just a local act. Their music has been featured on top editorial playlists, they’ve been championed by rock media across Europe, and they’ve become a staple on the live circuit, bringing their loud, sweaty, and stylish performances to both festivals and clubs.

Cyanide continues this evolution. Written by Filip Westgärds, Andreas Nyström (Katatonia), and Erik Mårtensson (Eclipse), and produced and mixed by Mårtensson at Mass Destruction Production, the song reflects the band’s current direction: tighter, heavier, more emotionally focused, and built for big stages.

With new music on the way and momentum on their side, 2025 is shaping up to be a defining year for the Swedish Hard Rockers Andy and the Rockets!

The Southern River Band Unleash New Single “Don’t Take It To Heart” Ahead of Album Release

0

WA’s high-voltage rock’n’roll exports The Southern River Band have dropped their latest balls to the wall single “Don’t Take It To Heart”.

“Metaphorically speaking, Don’t Take It To Heart is sticking your finger in an electrical socket, knowing full well you’re gonna get shocked, getting shocked, going ‘why did that happen?!’ – and then doing it again,” explains frontman Cal Kramer. “It’s the new single off our new record that we’ve just finished doing with mega legend and all-round top bloke Nick DiDia (Google him) over in Byron. And if you like it, well, heck – you might like the other songs too.”

The new track follows on from ‘F**k You, Pay Me’ – the catchy AF payday anthem we never knew we needed. Part Thin Lizzy bravado, part Aussie pub rock punch-on, “Don’t Take It To Heart” is another riff-loaded jolt of momentum on SRB’s unstoppable run.

Since blowing up on Justin Hawkins Rides Again, the Southern River Band have gone global – landing a #6 ARIA album with 2024’s D.I.Y., selling out shows across Europe, and delivering jaw-dropping sets at The Great Escape, Sweden Rock, Rock Werchter, Down The Rabbit Hole, and more.

Right now, they’re in the thick of their second European lap, including Download UK, Hellfest, Copenhell, Resurrection Fest and Rock for People. Plus, they’ve just been announced on the BIGSOUND 2025 line-up in September.

New single out now. Album incoming. Stay tuned.

Taken from their seventh long-playing opus, The Hives Forever Forever The Hiveswhich is out now, through the venerable Play It Again Sam, the single is accompanied by a video of the finest quality directed by the esteemed Filip Nilsson & Henry Moore Selder, who previously collaborated with the noble members of The Hives on their global rock ‘n’ roll smash, Hate To Say I Told You So.

Talking about the track, in their own words, The Hives declare that Paint A Picture is: A song about trying to convince people and yourself that living outside of society is a good idea. This song has been a fan favourite for ages among the lucky few who have heard it in concert.

This new future hit single follows previous hit single, Enough Is Enough, out in April to herald the arrival of their new masterpiece, a moment which was marked by a regal unveiling in Mexico City and later a show at the foot of New York’s Rockefeller Center. British India Return with New Single ‘The Gospel of Luke’ and Announce Australian Tour

0

Australian indie-rock royalty British India share their first new music in eight years in ‘The Gospel of Luke’ and announce an extensive, 14 date Australian Tour for September and October.

The blistering new song also marks the band’s first release since the departure of founding member and original guitarist, Nic Wilson. It came about after a sudden burst of inspiration to vocalist Declan Melia, who admits his desire to write disappeared after Wilson left.

Recorded at British India’s ancestral home of Sing Sing Studios with long-time producer Glenn Goldsmith and engineer Aaron Dobos, ‘The Gospel of Luke’ features the studio debut of the band’s new guitarist Jack Tosi.

A bitumen-coloured meditation on the closeness of mortality and a musical reflection on those moments when we are forced to confront what really matters in life, ‘The Gospel of Luke’ is a powerful return to form for the band. By reference to religious reverence, the song expands from solemn indie-acoustic confessional to redemptional shout with a chorus to match Oasis at their arrogant zenith. A late-night drive alone brings bear to the miracle of love.

British India emerged from Melbourne’s underground scene in 2007 with their critically acclaimed debut album Guillotine, which spawned triple j favourites ‘Black & White Radio’, ‘Tie Up My Hands’, and ‘Run the Red Light’. The band earned the AIR Award for Best New Independent Artist that same year. Their 2008 follow-up Thieves debuted at #5 on the ARIA Album Chart, led by the single ‘I Said I’m Sorry’, and received two ARIA Award nominations for Best Independent Release and Best Producer. In 2010, ‘Vanilla’ paved the way for Avalanche, their second ARIA Top 5 album.

A new chapter began in 2013 when British India signed with Liberation Records and Mushroom Music. Their fourth album Controller (2014) delivered their most successful single to date, ‘I Can Make You Love Me’, which achieved ARIA Gold and Platinum certification. Momentum continued with the release of their fifth studio album Nothing Touches Me, featuring the ARIA Gold-certified singles ‘Wrong Direction’ and ‘Suddenly’. This was followed by the single ’Precious’ and their most recent studio album Forgetting the Future in 2016.

With well over 50 million streams to their name, over 1500 headline shows and a list of performances that includes every major festival in Australia, British India are one of the country’s most popular and stalwart indie-rock acts. Now, after weathering the pandemic and recharging, the band return with renewed purpose.

Greywind Release New Album ‘Severed Heart City’ and Share New Single “Waterfall”

0

Irish emo duo Greywind is excited to announce their cinematic new album, ‘Severed Heart City.’ The album will be released on September 19th via FLG.

Having heralded the start of a new era earlier this year with epic cuts, ‘Acid Rain’ and ‘I.K.A.M.F.’, the brother-sister duo have announced their second full-length alongside the release of another arena-ready anthem, which will also appear on the record, titled ‘Waterfall.’

Guitarist Paul O’Sullivan comments: “‘Waterfall’ is about hopelessly wanting someone to love you, but getting absolutely nothing in return and waking up to the fact that they couldn’t care less about you. Recording this song felt like a massive moment in our career – it’s dark, cinematic, and has everything we love about music in it.”

Getting to this point has been more than a rollercoaster for GREYWIND, whose debut album ‘Afterthoughts’ was released in 2017 via a major label who promptly dropped them despite the band’s ultra-promising “Ones To Watch” status. They’ve gone on to stoke their own creative fire and herald an avid fanbase with a Tik Tok surge during lockdown, an EP released by Version III last year (‘Antidote’), tours and festival appearances across the UK, Europe and North America, and now a partnership with FLG. ‘Severed Heart City’ is both the culmination of and the soundtrack to that journey, taking in all the twists and turns in the siblings’ story, both personally and professionally, along the way.

Steph and Paul O’Sullivan comment on the new album:

“‘Severed Heart City’ is an extended allegory for the stages of trauma, and one’s inner struggle to find resolution. There are many roads that lead to the heart of this broken city, but there is only one bridge out – one of acceptance and hope. Our band was created after the suicide of our uncle and since then we’ve been on an intense journey of achieving some of our biggest dreams to then having everything ripped away from us. ‘Severed Heart City’ is a place where it’s ok to be sad, depressed and feel like the whole world is against you but it’s also a place where you make sure none of those things ever make you give up on yourself or your dreams. Only you can save yourself.”

It’s no surprise to hear that GREYWIND are inspired by great emo pop originators like Jimmy Eat World, Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance, with the duo’s flair for the dramatic and knack for an earworm melody resulting in an album filled to the rafters with anthems. These are songs you can imagine ringing out from the biggest of stages and being sung back at the band by rapt audiences all over the world. Envelope yourself in GREYWIND’s ‘Severed Heart City.’

Craig Finn and Patterson Hood Announce Co Headline Tour with Special Guest Alejandro Escovedo

0

Craig Finn and Patterson Hood have announced plans for a very special co-headline tour. The shows – which will see the two iconic singer-songwriters performing individually and together backed by multi-instrumentalist Ben Hackett – get underway with a two-night stand at Seattle, WA’s Tractor Tavern on November 5-6 and then travel through the month, ending November 22 at Austin, TX’s The O4 Center.

Finn and Hood will be joined by fellow singer-songwriter Alejandro Escovedo for a one-night-only triple-bill at Santa Fe, NM’s Lensic Performing Arts Center on November 19.

“Patterson Hood and his band The Drive-By Truckers were a huge inspiration to the origins of The Hold Steady,” says Craig Finn. “He is one of my favorite songwriters, and he’s also become a great friend. This tour, which will feature us going back and forth with songs and stories, is a dream come true. I expect it to be musical and joyful and can’t wait to get it started.”

“Craig and I have a ton of wonderful history, beginning with a mutual admiration for our bands,” says Patterson Hood. “The Hold Steady and Drive-By Truckers had a huge tour together in 2008 (The Rock & Roll Means Well Tour) that we both consider a landmark in our histories. Later in 2012, Craig and I toured Europe together (with our friend Will Johnson) and that’s when our friendship really took on a next level. I consider Craig a super close friend and one of my most trusted and admired confidants. We’ve been trying to find a way to collaborate again for years and this is finally happening.”
