The Record Company Celebrates Tenth Anniversary Of ‘Give It Back To You’ With Expanded Deluxe Reissue

Craft Recordings celebrates Los Angeles Groove ‘n’ Hook merchants The Record Company and their GRAMMY-nominated debut with an expanded tenth anniversary edition of Give It Back to You. The deluxe reissue includes the original 10-track album—featuring the chart-topping hit “Off the Ground,” as well as favorites such as “Rita Mae Young” and “On the Move”—plus the band’s previously unreleased first concert, captured in bassist Alex Stiff’s Los Feliz living home in 2013. The intimate set offers a glimpse into the band’s creative process with some of their earliest material, including songs that would later appear on Give It Back to You, as well as a down-and-dirty rendition of the Bob Seger classic, “Old Time Rock & Roll” (the band would go on to open for the legendary rocker in 2019). Arriving February 20th, 2026, and available to pre-order today, the album will be released on CD, as a 2-LP gatefold set, and on digital platforms. The digital edition will feature even more additional content—including bonus mixes, live versions, acoustic takes, covers, and more—stay tuned to the band’s official website and socials for the full tracklist reveal.

As part of their anniversary celebration, the band will also perform the album in its entirety during a 27-show run. The Give It Back to You Tour kicks off January 8th in Park City and concludes with a hometown show in Los Angeles on March 28th. The Record Company was born out of a late-night hang in 2011, when Chris Vos (vocals, guitar), Alex Stiff (bass, backing vocals), and Marc Cazorla (drums, backing vocals) spun classic blues records like John Lee Hooker’s Hooker ’N Heat and swapped stories of their favorite concerts (Iggy Pop & The Stooges, among them). Energized by the evening, the three musicians reconvened the next day for a jam session at Stiff’s Los Feliz home. Before long, his living room would become the band’s epicenter as they wrote songs, performed for friends, and, eventually, recorded and mixed their debut album, Give It Back to You.

Blending the soul of Delta blues with the power of classic rock and roll, the trio recorded much of the album live, giving songs like “Off the Ground,” “Rita Mae Young,” and “On the Move” a raw, immediate feel. They also incorporated slide guitar, pedal steel, piano, and harmonica, showcasing both their range and reverence for tradition while infusing it with modern energy.

Released in February 2016, Give It Back to You spent 42 weeks on both the Billboard Top New Artist Heatseekers chart (where it peaked at #5). Fueling its success was the lead single “Off the Ground,” which rose to #1 on Billboard’s AAA radio chart and cracked the Mainstream Rock Top 30, while its follow-up, “Rita Mae Young,” landed at #12 on the AAA chart.

Also bolstering the band’s profile were a host of high-profile engagements, including appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Conan, and CBS This Morning; a much-talked-about performance at Bonnaroo (named as one of the festival’s “5 Best Country and Americana Moments” by Rolling Stone Country); and their first headlining tour of the US. The following year, The Record Company joined John Mayer on tour, opening for the star at arenas across the country.

In addition to earning a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Contemporary Blues Album, Give It Back to You and The Record Company also received plenty of accolades from the press. Entertainment Weekly hailed, “The scuzzy, 10-track set meshes the group’s biggest influences—the early electric blues rock ’n’ roll of John Lee Hooker, staccato lyrical delivery akin to The Stooges frontman Iggy Pop, and Rolling Stones-style grooves.” Paste praised the band’s “Raw emotion, dedication, honesty and hard work,” while Rolling Stone declared, “The blues may be nothing new, but the Record Company wring new life out of old traditions.”

“Give It Back To You was about the formation of a new friendship that led to the accomplishment/start of a dream we all were afraid might pass us by,” said Chris Vos. “10 years later, we’re still so grateful to have found the music we had always been looking for, and that it’s taken us from live recording sessions in our bass player’s Los Feliz living room to stages all over the world.”

In the years following Give It Back to You, The Record Company has released three more albums—including their best-selling 2018 follow-up, All of This Life (featuring the hit “Life to Fix”). Their broad appeal has led them to share stages with an eclectic mix of artists—B.B. King, Social Distortion, Grace Potter, and Trombone Shorty among them—while their music has appeared in an array of films (including the 2016 blockbuster Bad Moms), hit series (Suits, Nashville, Shameless), and video games (MLB The Show 22). In 2023, they returned with their broadly acclaimed fourth album, aptly titled The 4th Album. Fans can catch The Record Company on tour through the rest of the year, with their anniversary shows to follow in 2026.

Pop duo Goldfrapp presents a new version of “Beautiful” reimagined by producer Richard X. This release follows the announcement of the 20th Anniversary deluxe edition of their third album ‘Supernature’ which arrived on November 21. The remix transforms the track into a contemporary electro anthem by distilling its pulse into a shimmering floor-filler. This follows other recent updates to the catalog including a remix of “You Never Know” by Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory and a version of “Koko” by Sun’s Signature featuring Elizabeth Fraser and Damon Reece. The collection brings a sharp minimal sheen to the band’s established library of hypnotic electronic music.

Brian May and Roger Taylor share exclusive details regarding the evolution of the band’s studio process during the latest episode of Queen The Greatest. This retrospective celebrates the 50th anniversary of ‘A Night At The Opera’ with a new clear vinyl reissue of the landmark project. The band reflects on how their early technical experiences at Trident Studios allowed them to realize their outrageous ambitions. This period of growth saw the group move from the restricted sessions of their debut to the unbound experimentation that defined their mid-seventies output.

The transition toward creative freedom became evident during the sessions for ‘Queen II’ in 1974. Roger Taylor notes that “really, I think Queen II was the first time we were allowed a certain amount of freedom in the studio, whereas with the first album we weren’t” and explains that the result sounded more like the way the band intended. Brian May remains a massive advocate of that era because he believes it represented a giant step for the group. He explains that they went from a band hardly allowed in the studio to one that could “actually has studio time” and “make a giant leap with painting pictures on the canvas of the tapes.”

Following the hard-hitting and simplified approach of ‘Sheer Heart Attack,’ the band decided to pursue their dreams further with more complex arrangements. Brian May compares the recording of their fourth album to “getting a new car and seeing what you can do with it” while working alongside engineer Mike Stone and producer Roy Baker. The sessions became the most expensive in history at the time as they pushed the boundaries of studio technology. This ambitious direction was a necessity for the group as Brian May recalls that had the album failed “I think we would have just disappeared under the ocean.”

The record eventually reached the top of the UK charts with a track list ranging from the rock of “Death On Two Legs” to the vaudeville style of “Seaside Rendezvous.” The collaborative process between the four members resulted in a sound that was adventurous and dangerous. Brian May remembers the work as an exhilarating process where the final result “became Queen stuff” which he considers “a million times greater than anything that any one of the four of us could come up with on their own.” This new reissue provides a fresh look at a project that broke all the rules of rock music.
