Extreme Release Cinematic Video for “X Out” from Sixth Album ‘Six’

0

Extreme has released its 11th video for its sixth studio album, Six. The clip for “X Out” is available now via earMUSIC. The video amplifies the song’s haunting imagery and themes of faith, meaning, and mortality.

“This song was always sonically cinematic to me. It instantly conjured up images of Mad Max, Dune,” says guitarist Nuno Bettencourt.

Singer Gary Cherone explains, “The lyric is a lamentation, captured in a nightmare reflecting on the fleeting nature of life and the question of meaning in the face of the inevitable.”

The album propelled the band to new heights, driven by standout singles such as “Rise,” “Banshee,” and “Other Side of the Rainbow,” and supported by a globe-spanning tour across the U.S., Europe, the U.K., India, Japan, and Australia.

Guitarist Nuno Bettencourt also reaffirmed his stature as one of rock’s most commanding players with a historic performance at Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning farewell concert. That milestone appearance led to his invitation to serve as music director and guitarist at the 2025 MTV VMAs, where he delivered a powerhouse tribute to Osbourne alongside Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud.

Charley Crockett Covers “Bad Company” with Haunting Americana Twist for Tribute Album

0

One of today’s most authentic and fast-rising voices in Americana and country music, Charley Crockett has released his rendition of the classic, “Bad Company.” The song is the latest from the forthcoming tribute album, Can’t Get Enough: A Tribute to Bad Company, to be released October 24th via Primary Wave Music.

Outlaw country troubadour Charley Crockett brings grit, soul, and swagger to his cover of “Bad Company.” Known for his genre-blending style that fuses vintage country, blues, and Americana, Crockett delivers a haunting and heartfelt interpretation that feels both timeless and unmistakably his own. With a voice steeped in storytelling and defiance, Charley’s version taps into the song’s renegade spirit, reimagining it through the lens of the American West and his own life experiences: playing his pawn-shop guitar on the streets of New Orleans, hitchhiking, and riding freight trains north until he found himself busking on the streets of New York in 2009.

“What a song. Never imagined I’d be asked to cut a Bad Company tune, especially this one,” says Crockett. “I grew up cranking the volume anytime it was on a classic rock station in Texas. Still do. It’s an untouchable and timeless song. I only hope I can do it some justice.”

“Bad Company” was produced by Grammy-winning Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker) and Crockett at Sunset Sound Studios in Los Angeles. Legendary bassist, Darryl Jones – known for powering The Rolling Stones, Miles Davis, and Sting – brings his iconic groove to the track.

The all-star tribute album features legendary and contemporary artists from rock, country, and Americana, genres deeply influenced by Bad Company, including Hardy, The Pretty Reckless, Joe Elliott and Phil Collen from Def Leppard, Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, Charley Crockett, Halestorm, and more, offering fresh takes on the band’s iconic songs. Bad Company was founded by Mick Ralphs and Paul Rodgers in 1973.

The album kicked off with The Struts’ rendition of “Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy,” followed by Blackberry Smoke releasing their version of “Run with the Pack” last month with Rodgers, and this week’s Dirty Honey cover of “Rock Steady.”

Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke will join host Steve Harkins on TalkShopLive’s Rock & Roll channel on Thursday, October 9th at 7 pm ET to talk about their 50th anniversary and upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction as well as the exciting new tribute album.

Lettuce Preview Upcoming Album ‘Cook’ with Funky, Hip-Hop Infused New Single “Breathe”

0

The legendary funk sextet Lettuce have been teasing the forthcoming release of their latest full-length offering, Cook, due December 3, 2025 via the band’s own Lettuce Records. With the lead single “Gold Tooth,” and most recently their cover of the Keni Burke classic “Rising to the Top,” the band’s signature blend of all-organic, additive free funk is on full display.

Today, they’re thrilled to share the latest sneak peek at the album with new song “Breathe,” a blissed-out track tinged with a retro hip-hop vibe to match.Eric “Benny” Bloom, speaking on the origins of “Breathe,” says “This is my favorite song on the record.

“I can just see myself strutting down the streets of NYC on a brisk October night, thinking of all the possibilities my future holds if I just listen to myself and breathe.”

The band’s Adam Deitch says the band “Needed a chill, hip hop flavored joint. This is what came out of me.” For his part, Erick “Jesus” Coomes says “Life is a gorgeous gift that when looked at from a childlike perspective of wonder can constantly amaze and astound us. Breathe it in. Let your loving energy go out to all – it will always return to you.”

Mimi Webb Shares Intimate Video for “I Met A Boy” from Sophomore Album ‘Confessions’

0

British pop sensation Mimi Webb unveils the official music video for “I Met A Boy,” the radiant single from her sophomore album Confessions (Epic Records), out now. Directed by Avesta Keshtmand, the visual captures Mimi at her most intimate and playful, balancing carefree joy with moments of self-reflection. Shot across cozy apartments, bustling city streets, and sunlit cafes, the video unfolds like a peek into Mimi’s personal camera roll – equal parts spontaneous and cinematic.

Speaking about “I Met A Boy,” Mimi reveals, “‘I Met a Boy’ is probably one of the more unique songs on the album. I had so much fun trying out a more R&B sound, which hasn’t really influenced my music until now, and I’m definitely excited to explore it further in my future work. We’ve all flirted with someone, only to find out they’re already in a relationship, so I hope this song feels relatable to many.”

Released last week, Confessions marks Mimi Webb’s boldest and most personal body of work to date. Written and recorded between Los Angeles and London, the album is an honest exploration of heartbreak, empowerment, and self-discovery, while delivering the soaring pop songs that first put her on the map.

With songs like the biting empowerment anthem “Narcissist,” the playful “Love Language,” and the emotional centerpiece “You Don’t Look At Me The Same,” the record cements Mimi as one of pop’s most compelling voices. “I Met A Boy” serves as one of its most luminous highlights, showcasing her candid lyricism and a new R&B-influenced edge.

“I am so proud of this album. Confessions has helped me grow both as a person and as an artist,” Mimi explains. “The themes I was able to explore through these songs taught me so much about myself and gave me real confidence. I’m also incredibly proud of the creative side of this record – every video, every photoshoot holds so much of me. This project, as a whole, is the most authentically ‘me’ thing I’ve ever done.”

St. Panther Announces Soulful Genre-Bending EP ‘Strange World,’ Out November 7

0

Los Angeles based Mexican/Colombian artist, producer, singer, rapper, and multi-instrumentalist St. Panther (Dani Bojorges-Giraldo, they/them) announced their long awaited EP, Strange World, a collection of soulful modern pop songs layered with elements of R&B, jazz, hip-hop and alt-pop, narrating and confronting the wider climate of uncertainty and oblivion.

Due November 7th, 2025, Strange World marks St. Panther’s first release with the art-forward label drink sum wtr and their first compilation of music since their 2020 breakout debut EP, These Days.

Five years of writing, recording and collaborating crystallizes St. Panther’s signature sound: a hypnotic soundscape drenched in intrinsic instrumentation, filled with lighthearted yet brutally honest lyricism. A striking return and a sign of what’s to come, Strange World is poised, ponderous, simplified yet incredibly defiant. Cruising through genres and a wide array of emotions, Strange World roots itself in the search for purpose, security and love-notions that may be at odds with today’s uncertain landscape.

Regarding the EP, St. Panther remarked: “It’s been highly impactful-to say the absolute least-to witness the world in the state it’s in today. In so many lyrics and melodies, I’m using this set of songs as a method of putting certain messages into our ether, intentionally shouting certain things from the rooftops that a friend jokingly said ‘for world peace;’ but this music is meant to activate people in some way to meditate about our relationship to each other, which feels like a good use for music right now.”

Following the departure from the major label network, St. Panther took the time to be among their peers. This project sees the blessing of many of previous collaborators, with long-time collaborator McClenney (H.E.R., Khalid, Jamila Woods) sitting in the co-producer chair and Erik Bodin of Little Dragon’s acoustic drumming featured in the title track. “I took this long pause to really listen to my village, listen to the needs of my community, and the people around me,” said St. Panther, “We’re all feeling the weight of the world on our shoulders a bit. We want hope for our listeners, we want people to feel heard and that there’s someone out there representing this feeling.”

Alongside the announcement today, St. Panther released the EP title track, “Strange World,” featuring Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/rapper, Rae Khalil (Anderson Paak) and co-written with Erik Bodin of Little Dragon. The rhythmic, exhilarating single premiered on KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic, with host Novena Carmel praising it as “the coolest funky artist.” FLOOD Magazine premiered the song’s tender, warm-hearted music video and sang praises for the upcoming EP saying “Bojorges-Giraldo’s new batch of songs is steeped in a sense of realism while maintaining an upbeat pop-funk energy and an optimistic outlook for the future.”

On the track, St. Panther said: “Since the last time I put out a project, our world has only gotten stranger, which has only made my work more intentional. In this gap, I set out to write music about our world in the state it’s in now and imagine a future beyond it with some of my favorite people to talk about the world with. In ‘Strange World’ you can hear us all in the studio together, laughing in between takes so often it bled into the actual recording, which we decided to keep because the spirit of that felt important. I truly believe that hope and joy can alter the state of anything, especially when the world feels most divided/needs healing. It’s all in the lyrics, I’m still rooting for us.”

Bob Dylan’s ‘Bootleg Series Vol. 18: Through The Open Window, 1956–1963’ Out October 31

0

Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series Volume 18: Through The Open Window, 1956-1963 on October 31, 2025. Preorders begin today here. A preview of the album, “Rocks and Gravel,” is available here.

Through The Open Window tells the story of Dylan’s emergence and maturation as a songwriter and performer, tracing his journey from Minnesota to the Greenwich Village bohemia of the early 1960s. Arriving amidst a global resurgence of appreciation for Dylan, the collection includes rare Columbia Records outtakes, recordings from intimate club dates, informal apartment sessions, and jam gatherings in long-gone musicians’ haunts. Many of these recordings are exceedingly rare, while others have never before been presented in any form.

The box set offers a unique account of Dylan’s early years, when he honed his craft and transformed traditional folk songs and lyric sketches into some of his most enduring anthems, including “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are A-Changin’.” The collection culminates with a previously unreleased, full recording of Dylan’s landmark Carnegie Hall concert on October 26, 1963—a show that marked both a culmination of his early rise and the end of the beginning of a monumental career.

“Of that time and those places, this collection is just a fragment,” writes author and historian Sean Wilentz in his 125-page liner essay. “Even so, as an aural record of an artist becoming himself—or in Dylan’s case, his first of many artistic selves—the collection aims to collapse time and space, not as a nostalgic reverie but as a living connection between the past and the present, the old and the new, which are never as distinct as we might think.”

The 8-CD Deluxe Edition features 139 tracks—48 never-before-released performances and 38 super-rare cuts—plus a hardcover book with Wilentz’s extensive notes and over 100 rare photographs. The 2-CD and 4-LP highlight editions feature 42 tracks.
