Funk/Pop Trio DARUMAS Return With Deluxe ‘DARUMAS+’ And Bold New Single “Ex-Cusas”

0

After capturing attention with their genre-blending debut and a Latin GRAMMY nomination, DARUMAS return with DARUMAS+, the deluxe reissue of their self-titled project—now featuring 8 bold new tracks and a brand-new single “Ex-Cusas.”

Packed with energy and empowerment, “Ex-Cusas” explores the emotional leftovers of past relationships with tongue-in-cheek confidence. The track wraps up heartbreak in horn-filled funk, R&B swagger, and quick lyrical jabs. Its surreal music video brings the wit to life, placing the trio in a visually twisted dreamscape of stars, shifting colors, and kaleidoscopic effects.

The additional songs in DARUMAS+ continue the group’s mission to mix and redefine genres. From disco and pop to soul and Latin funk, tracks like “Hollywood,” “No La Llames,” and “Francotirador” showcase their unstoppable chemistry and evolving sound.

Hailing from Argentina, Miami/Cuba, and Haiti/Chile, Aldana, Ceci, and Vedala form a cross-cultural trio rooted in groove and social impact. Their diverse backgrounds feed into music that celebrates joy, strength, and fearless experimentation—earning them festival slots at Outside Lands, SXSW, Rock in Rio, and more.

Celebrating the iconic album with its deluxe reissue, Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition) is available in stores and across digital retailers today via Roadrunner Records.

To mark its release, today the band has also shared the official video for “Scissors”, taken from Welcome to Our Neighborhood, Pt. 2.

Slipknot (25th Anniversary Edition) was initially released to fans as a special box set edition. Limited to 100 blood-filled self-titled LP vinyl copies via their secret site 742617000027.net, the edition sold out in seconds, crashing the website in the process.

Its additional physical versions include a 6LP Box Set with blood-splattered vinyl (limited to 1,899 copies, which also sold out in minutes), 2LP editions in various limited-edition colourways, and a 2CD, in addition to digital releases on streaming services.

Depending on the format, this release includes the original Ross Robinson-produced album, plus recordings that were only heard by the band and their inner circle at the time of production. All collected from the original sources, these include unreleased takes, alternate versions, and mixes from SR Audio, Indigo Ranch, and more, as well as ‘test mixes’ from alternate mixers.

Not only are these recordings the full story behind the recording of this now-iconic album, they also chart the course of choices made and paths taken, and how the Slipknot the world knows today came to be.

Ed Sheeran and NPR’s Tiny Desk Team Up For Historic Concert On ‘Play’ Album Release Day

0

On September 12, four-time Grammy Award winner Ed Sheeran will join NPR’s iconic Tiny Desk for an intimate, live-streamed concert following the release of his new album ‘Play’ earlier that day. Sheeran will perform a selection of new music on his loop station in the first-ever livestreamed Tiny Desk concert of this scale. The concert will reach more than 60 million subscribers across NPR and Sheeran’s YouTube channels.

The concert airs live at noon ET on NPR Music’s YouTube channel and will be available following the show on Ed Sheeran’s channel and NPR Music’s channel.

“The Desk has always been about breaking down the walls between artist and audience,” said Bobby Carter, series producer and host of NPR’s Tiny Desk. “With this livestream, we’re taking that intimacy worldwide. And trust me — Ed Sheeran is going to make history.”

NPR’s Tiny Desk has become known for its authenticity, and this livestream takes that experience to the next level by bringing listeners in the room, in the moment.

“The Tiny Desk concerts that regularly publish are meticulously post-produced by our talented audio and video producers,” said NPR Music’s Executive Producer Suraya Mohamed. “We are excited to share a live, raw version of a Tiny Desk concert with our audience — something we haven’t done since 2019.”

Since launching in 2008, NPR’s Tiny Desk series has become one of the most celebrated and influential concert series in the world. From rising stars to global icons, artists perform stripped-down sets behind the Desk at the NPR headquarters. By focusing on raw, unfiltered artistry, Tiny Desk has redefined what live performance can be. With millions of subscribers across YouTube and social media, NPR’s Tiny Desk reaches more than 20 million viewers each month and generated more than 62 million views across platforms in the past year.

This marks Sheeran’s second collaboration with NPR. He first appeared in a Tiny Desk (Home) Concert in 2021, filmed during the work-from-home era of the global pandemic. Now, with ‘Play,’ Sheeran’s eight studio album, Sheeran returns to bring never-before-performed music to the Tiny Desk through a rare livestream.

Cam Returns After Four Years With Soulful New Single “Alchemy”

0

GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Cam returns with her long-awaited solo single, “Alchemy,” out now across platforms. Marking her first solo release in four years, the track brings together folk, pop, and country in a seamless fusion that highlights her evolution as an artist.

Produced by frequent collaborator Tyler Johnson (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus), “Alchemy” finds Cam co-writing with Johnson, Michael Uzowuru (Frank Ocean, SZA), and Anders Mouridsen (Meghan Trainor). The result is a contemplative yet bright exploration of life’s cyclical journey.

“I wanted to write something where we just focused on melody, but it turned into a song about reflecting on what we’re made of, where we’re coming from and where we’re going,” Cam says of the track.

To accompany the song’s release, Cam debuted a compelling one-take visual directed by James Mackel, known for his work with Doechii. The video serves as a thoughtful visual extension of the track’s lyrical depth.

“Alchemy” builds on the foundation of Cam’s acclaimed catalog, including her 2015 debut Untamed, which featured the 3x platinum hit “Burning House.” That single earned her a Grammy nomination and became one of the best-selling country tracks by a female solo act in recent memory.

More recently, Cam contributed to Beyoncé’s COWBOY CARTER, earning her second Grammy nod and first win as a songwriter for Album Of The Year. She also appeared on 070 Shake’s PETRICHOR via the co-written track “Never Let Us Fade.”

Dirkschneider & The Old Gang Unleash Epic Title Track “Babylon” Ahead Of New Album

0

Dirkschneider & The Old Gang (DATOG) have unleashed Babylon, the monumental title track from their upcoming album, set for release on October 3, 2025 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM).

DATOG’s Babylon pulls you in with eastern-tinged melodies and takes you on a magic carpet ride through lands of myth and mystery. The band describes the song so: “‘Babylon’ is an absolutely worthy title track. Featuring a pounding, ultra-hard riff, plus the vocal melodies of Udo, Peter and Manuela that transport you straight into a fairy tale from “One Thousand and One Nights.” The guitar arrangements and especially Mathias’ solo guitar work support the imaginative atmosphere and drive the song to its absolute climax.”

Lyrically, Babylon invites listeners to walk the world of wonders where every tale is true – through mystic havens, desert nights, and golden treasures shining bright for the Holy Queen of Babylon. It’s a song that dares to cross the line between fantasy and heavy metal firepower, guiding fans into a place “where the holy gate’s gonna be your fate.”

As the title track, Babylon is the perfect metaphor for the content of the album itself: behind the holy gates, treasures are unveiled. Both single and music video offer a splendid final taste of DATOG’s unparalleled artistry before the official album release – a musical journey fans will want to experience again and again.

Sierra Pilot Roar Back With Fierce New Single “Zeroed”

0

Canadian hard rock powerhouse Sierra Pilot are back with“Zeroed,” a fierce and unapologetic banger about standing your ground, cutting through the noise, and reclaiming your power. Fueled by punchy guitar riffs, thunderous drums, soaring vocals, and fresh sonic textures, the track delivers the biggest, boldest sound Sierra Pilot has unleashed to date — a battle cry for anyone who’s had enough of being pushed around.

Written about the raw moment when you finally give up on someone after a thousand chances — choosing your own pain over their happiness —“Zeroed” explores themes of defiance and self-preservation.

Produced with the band’s signature blend of modern rock intensity and classic hard rock swagger, “Zeroed” builds on Sierra Pilot’s reputation for delivering music that’s as heavy in message as it is in sound. It’s an unflinching statement about refusing to be sidelined — a sonic warning to anyone who underestimates the will to fight back.

Following the momentum of their recent single “Horizons” and a high-profile U.S. tour with Pop Evil and Bad Wolves in late 2024, “Zeroed” marks another milestone for the Ontario-based band as they continue to carve their place in the rock scene.

Fueled by pounding hooks, an explosive chorus, and an unapologetic attitude, the track feels tailor-made for the stage — and is destined to become a fan-favourite live.

0

Emily James returns with the emotionally charged single “Underdog,” a gripping moment from her forthcoming EP, Summer Nostalgia, out now The track, now available alongside its official music video, unpacks the friction and confusion of young relationships, delivering a sonic wave of teenage emotion.

“This is the turning point of Summer Nostalgia,” Emily shares. “The sound of ‘Underdog’ really leans into that teenage angst and the release of all the frustrations you’ve been trying to bury.”

The rock-forward production enhances the track’s raw narrative, echoing lyrics like “When it’s hell, yeah it’s hell… I’m holding on to what could be, but would it be better?” to embody the chaos of youth and emotional upheaval. As Emily notes, it explores a dynamic shaped by “immaturity and incompatibility,” reflective of high school relationships where identity is still in formation.

“Underdog” follows the recent releases of “Under the Influence” and “Suburbia,” each contributing to the broader coming-of-age arc of Summer Nostalgia. Together, they build a portrait of formative experiences that linger long into adulthood.

The Boxmasters Close Out ‘Pepper Tree Hill’ Tour At Dolby Theatre With Special Los Angeles Show

The Boxmasters will wrap their Pepper Tree Hill Tour with a show at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood on October 20th. The group is on tour to support its 19th album, Pepper Tree Hill, which was released this summer, showcasing the group’s love of the Sixties and the inspiration of their studio, also named Pepper Tree Hill.

Tickets for the newly announced Los Angeles concert go on sale on Friday, September 12th at 10 am local time.

Last month, Bud Thornton and JD Andrew spoke to us about the album and tour. The song “Pepper Tree Hill” features legendary trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert and longtime collaborator and Boxmaster alum Brad Davis. The title track is “a salute to the creative atmosphere that The Boxmasters thrive in.”

“This album really is, more so than a lot of our records, even though all of our songs that we write are based on the 70s and the British invasion and all that. This one really has some touches that are more evident than usual and, of course, we had Herb Alpert on the song ‘Pepper Tree Hill’ which harkens back to the 60s,” Thornton says.

They recently opened for The Who in Newark, New Jersey, where the show didn’t go as planned. Thornton and Andrew discuss the performance along with the album, tour, and more, including a Landman soundtrack album that’s in the works, featuring original songs co-written with Landman co-star and country singer-songwriter Mark Collie, Ronnie Dunn, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, Parker McCollum, and Dwight Yoakam, to name a few.
