Good Neighbours return this week with stirring new single ‘People Need People’ – the final preview of their debut album Blue Sky Mentality, out September 26th via Polydor Records.

Premiering on Wednesday night as BBC Radio 1’s Hottest Record, ‘People Need People’ is a widescreen anthem centered on friendship, solidarity and the moments we lean on each other most. With luminous synths, pulsing percussion and a soaring chorus made to be sung shoulder-to-shoulder, it’s a rousing reminder that no one has to go it alone.

Speaking about the track, the band share: “The title is everything the track is about. When we started this band, we were in and out of jobs and struggling with staying afloat. Luckily, we had an amazing group of mates around us who we’ve seen laugh and cry when the going gets tough. The song should be an arm around the ones you love.”

‘People Need People’ follows the euphoric rush of recent singles ‘found u/me’ and ‘Suburbs’, as well as the duo’s radiant cover of The La’s ‘There She Goes’ for Amazon Music. Together, the tracks showcase the depth and range of Blue Sky Mentality – a debut album that smuggles big feelings into even bigger choruses, uniting listeners in moments of catharsis, joy and release.

Over the bank holiday weekend Good Neighbours took to the Main Stage at Reading & Leeds Festival, bringing their anthems to huge crowds – a landmark moment that further cemented them as one of the UK’s most exciting new live acts.

It followed the real sense of homecoming that was the announcement of Blue Sky Mentality, where Scott and Oli marked the moment with a sweat-soaked, sold-out show at London’s Sebright Arms – the very venue where they played their first ever gig just 18 months ago, in November 2023.

Written across a whirlwind year of long-haul flights, tour buses, hotel rooms and emotional highs and lows, the album captures the tension between distance and belonging – the pull of community, the need for connection, and the journey back to yourself. It’s a record that wears its heart loudly and proudly: a 14-track burst of euphoric indie-pop that smuggles big feelings – grief, love, hope, resilience – into massive choruses and sun-streaked synths. From their viral debut ‘Home’ to fan favourites ‘Keep It Up’, ‘Ripple’ and ‘Starry Eyed’, Blue Sky Mentality is both a document of their meteoric rise and a rallying cry for openness, optimism and togetherness.

Our band began as a kind of light relief – a creative outlet to break from jobs that we couldn’t stand and some tough personal times. Joni Mitchell releases Joni’s Jazz, a passion project years in the making. This career-spanning collection features recordings chosen by Mitchell that reflect jazz’s profound influence on her music.

Spanning 61 tracks, Joni’s Jazz includes studio recordings, live performances, rare alternate takes and previously unreleased demos, and material drawn from multiple decades and record labels. The set features contributions from some of Mitchell’s most important collaborators in jazz, among them Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Herbie Hancock, and Charles Mingus. Mitchell, who calls Shorter her favorite collaborator, dedicates the collection to him following his passing in 2023. “It was a joy to play with him,” she writes. “He will be missed, but he will remain alive for me in this music.”

Covering nearly every era of her recording career, the collection includes selections from Songs To A Seagull, The Hissing of Summer Lawns, Hejira, Mingus, Turbulent Indigo, Both Sides Now (a 2001 GRAMMY Award winner), and more. It also features her guest appearances on projects like Hancock’s GRAMMY Award-winning album, River: The Joni Letters.

Across the collection, the music follows Mitchell’s artistic growth — from the rhythmic layering of “Harry’s House / Centerpiece” to the bold experimentation of “The Jungle Line,” the narrative scale of “Paprika Plains,” and the airy, improvised feel of “A Chair In The Sky.”

It draws from more than five decades of Mitchell’s recordings, going back to 1968 for “Marcie,” from Song To A Seagull. The most recent is her performance of “Summertime,” recorded live at the 2023 Newport Folk Festival. It marked Mitchell’s first full-length concert in over two decades — a powerful return that resonated around the world.

As a self-portrait in sound, Joni’s Jazz captures an artist in conversation with jazz over a lifetime — never imitating, always inventing. Last year, in the liner notes for Joni Mitchell Archives – Vol. 4, she joked, “People ask me my favorite of my albums, it’s going to be Joni’s Jazz.” Now it is.

Marking the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Wildflowers, one of Tom Petty’s most beloved and enduring albums, the all-time classic will see a special two LP One-Step vinyl release with Because Sound Matters, set for October 10 via Warner Records. Limited to 6000 numbered copies, the first pressing has been cut directly from the original master tapes by engineer Chris Bellman, overseen by Petty’s longtime audio engineer Ryan Ulyate and cut for a true all-analog presentation with exceptional clarity and depth. The uplifting 89-minute documentary offers a look into the creative mastery and turbulent personal life of the legendary rock star between 1993-1995. An unvarnished look at Petty, the film features a collection of 16mm film that was discovered in Tom Petty’s archive in 2020, including unseen footage captured during the making of Wildflowers. Directed by Mary Wharton (Jimmy Carter: Rock and Roll President, Sam Cooke: Legend, Elvis Lives! The Beatles Revolution), the film includes interviews with Rubin, Heartbreakers Mike Campbell and Benmont Tench, Petty’s daughter Adria and many more. 

The film first debuted at SXSW 2021, winning the festival’s Audience Award, and went on to garner Best Documentary Film at the Boulder Film Festival, Outstanding Producer of Televised or Streamed Motion Picture at The PGA Awards, and was AFI Docs’ Official Selection and received widespread critical acclaim throughout the film festival season.

Originally released in November 1994, the Wildflowers sessions were the first collaboration with legendary producer Rick Rubin. The sessions produced volumes of personal music. Wildflowers was Petty’s fastest selling album and was certified Triple Platinum by the RIAA only nine months after its release. It charted at #8 on the Billboard 200 and was recently included on Rolling Stone’s list of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” 

Over his 40-year career, Tom Petty became a beloved American rock & roll icon, world renowned for his songwriting and his incredible band the Heartbreakers. In addition to the 13 studio albums he made with the Heartbreakers, Petty recorded three solo albums, including the acclaimed Full Moon Fever, Wildflowers and Highway Companion. Petty was also a member of the supergroup Traveling Wilburys and in the pre-Heartbreakers band Mudcrutch.

Hailed as one of the greatest rock music artists of all time, Petty’s honors include Songwriters Hall of Fame, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and multiple Grammy Awards. He has sold over 85 million records, amassed over five billion streams and performed to over 140 million fans worldwide. Widely recognized and remembered for his philanthropy and service, Petty is the recipient of some of the highest honors in philanthropy including Midnight Mission’s Golden Heart Award in 2011, and MusicCares ‘Person of the Year’ in 2017. The Petty Estate aims to extend the late artist’s legacy, both musically and in spirit, by supporting philanthropic and social issues that were close to Petty’s heart. Earlier this year the Estate provided financial support to 10 families in partnership with GoFundMe, as well as MusiCares and Healthcare for Homeless Animals in the aftermath of the Los Angeles Wildfires. Additionally, the Estate were sponsors for this year’s NYC Pride as well as LGBTQIA+ nonprofit youth organization It Gets Better.

Tom Petty passed away in 2017 shortly after completing his 40th anniversary tour, leaving behind a massive archive of unreleased material. His music continues to reach fans, both new and old, around the world today.

Oasis Release “Wonderwall Live from Dublin 16 August ‘25” as Live ‘25 Tour Storms North America and U.K. Charts

Last week, the Oasis Live ‘25 Tour finally hit the United States, landing in Chicago for their first show in America in 17 years. As the Live ‘25 tour continues to be a roaring success, Oasis release “Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ‘25).”

The track was recorded on Saturday, August 16th, during the first of two sold-out nights at Dublin’s Croke Park. Oasis performed to over 160,000 fans in Ireland, with the shows marking the band’s first performances in Ireland since 2009.

Oasis has completed 22 dates of their 41-date Oasis Live ‘25 Tour.

The release of “Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ‘25)” comes during the North American leg of the band’s sold-out world tour. They’ve so far completed five sold-out shows across Toronto, Chicago, and East Rutherford, and have two nights coming up at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles this Saturday and Sunday. The tour continues with two nights in Mexico City before returning for their sixth and seventh nights at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium.

Beyond the Live ‘25 tour, Oasis fever continues to take over the UK charts. Ahead of the Dublin shows, Oasis reclaimed their No. 1 spot in the Official UK Album Charts as singles compilation album Time Flies… 1994-2009 shot to the top of the chart for the third week in 2025. In the same week, their classic album (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, which celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, charted at No. 3, while their essential 1994 debut Definitely Maybe rounded out the triple at No. 7. (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? has now been certified 18-times platinum by the BPI in recognition of more than 5.4 million domestic sales.

The release of “Wonderwall (Live from Dublin, 16 August ‘25)” follows “Bring It On Down (Live from Edinburgh, 9 August ‘25),” “Slide Away (Live from Cardiff, 4 July ‘25),” “Cigarettes & Alcohol (Live from Manchester, 11 July ‘25),” and “Little By Little (Live from London, 2 August ‘25).”

An annual summer tradition, Buckeye Country Superfest returns on Saturday, June 13, 2026, with superstar Tyler Childers headlining another unforgettable event in the Buckeye State. Featuring a stacked lineup, the 2026 event will also feature performances by country-rock sensations The Red Clay Strays, L.A.-based indie-rock band Lord Huron, multi-talented singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Sierra Ferrell, Texas’s excellent country-meets-Americana group Flatland Cavalry, and the dazzling, one-of-a-kind country performer Kaitlin Butts, rounding out the lineup.

Alt Pop Punk Artist MICO Returns with “Ever After” Featuring eaJ Ahead of Massive Internet Hometown Hero World Tour

MICO is back with the release of his new song “Ever After” featuring eaJ today. Known for pairing confessional songwriting with sharp, genre-blending melodies, the Filipino-Canadian artist continues to carve out his own lane in alt-pop punk.

Written during the sessions for his 2024 EP Internet hometown hero, “Ever After” didn’t fit the story or sonic space of that project but was too undeniable to leave behind. “It’s one of the catchiest songs I think I’ve ever written,” says MICO. “We finished all the lyrics in about 40 minutes, and I’m excited to finally have it out in the world after so long.”

The track finds MICO leaning into playful analogies, comparing a broken relationship to the plot of a bad rom-com – a nod to his own failed relationships and his love of “hate-watching” corny movies while in them. “It’s kind of an anti-love anthem about accepting that things should’ve ended a while ago, and breaking the news to someone that’s refusing to accept it,” he explains.

“Ever After” follows the release of his deluxe album Internet hometown hero (+DLC) in May and comes ahead of MICO’s massive Internet hometown hero World Tour this fall, spanning 50+ shows (more than half of which are already SOLD OUT) across North America, Europe, and the UK.

Released in 1999, the album introduced the world to the iconic lineup of Wayne Static, Koichi Fukuda, Tony Campos and Ken Jay.

Spawning unforgettable hits as “Push It,” ” I’m With Stupid” and “Bled For Days,” the album found its way into pop culture through music videos, multiple video games and inclusion on various movie soundtracks. Years after its release, the album still find new audiences with Metal Hammer declaring the album one of the “Top 20 best metal albums of 1999” in 2021.

The anniversary edition – Wisconsin Death Trip (25th Anniversary Corrosive Edition) – is the ultimate death trip, containing 2 handmade, orange and black eclipse vinyl with remastered versions of the original album audio, presented in a comprehensive box set, filled with bonus tracks and never seen artwork available worldwide on December 12. The band reunited with the original producer Ulrich Wild as well as original photographer Exum to deliver a whole new experience for the album. The album has been remastered by Wild, and a second disc of demos, alternate versions and rare tracks are included making the album total runtime over an hour and eleven minutes. Exum unearthed hundreds of never-before-seen photos from the shoot and the band have used them to completely redesign the packaging.

Sombr Debuts at #1 on Spotify Global Debut Albums Chart with ‘I Barely Know Her’ as Tour Upgrades Sell Out Instantly

 sombr has debuted at the top of Spotify’s Global Debut Albums chart with his highly anticipated album I Barely Know Her, released via Warner Records on August 22. Continuing his momentous rise, the 10-track debut features Billboard Hot 100 hits “back to friends,” “undressed” and “12 to 12,” each continuing to climb the charts including Top 40 Radio, Global and U.S. Spotify Charts, the UK Official Singles Chart, as well as Alternative Radio where he peaked at #1 faster than any new artist of the last decade, also taking the #1 spot at Billboard Hot Rock & Alternative Songs following Billie Eilish’s year long run.

Due to unprecedented demand, sombr announced last week upgraded venues for the majority of the North American tour dates. Tickets went on sale the following day, and all 119,000 new tickets sold out almost instantly. The upgrades include two nights at New York City’s Rooftop at Pier 17 and two nights at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall, in addition to previously sold out dates at The Fonda in LA and NY’s Brooklyn Steel.

I Barely Know Her was written entirely by sombr and co-produced by the 20-year-old artist alongside esteemed, legendary producer Tony Berg (Phoebe Bridgers, The Replacements), and follows news of him making his award show debut at the MTV Video Music Awards, performing live from New York on September 7, where he is nominated for Best New Artist, Best Alternative for “back to friends,” and Song of Summer for “12 to 12.” MTV also announced sombr as their Global PUSH Artist for the month of September.

A New York City-native raised on the Lower East Side, sombr-born Shane Boose-started making music in his bedroom while studying classical music as a student at the prestigious public school, LaGuardia High School. His breakout hit “Caroline” (2022) took the internet by storm, and he has since released a series of EPs and singles, climbing to over 400 million monthly streams across platforms. Now based in Los Angeles, sombr continues to explore young romance and heartbreak through his music-all of which is self-written and co-produced by the artist himself, and released via Warner Records.
