Weiland first rose to prominence as the frontman of Stone Temple Pilots, earning a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance with “Plush.” The band’s 1992 album Core peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, and later returned to the top of the rock charts with their 2010 self-titled release. He also co-founded Velvet Revolver with members of Guns N’ Roses, scoring another Grammy for “Slither,” and released four solo albums across a career that moved more than 50 million records.
