Dylan Cotrone Shares New EP ‘Weekend Religion,’ A Blend of Faith, Freedom, and Coastal Spirit

0

Dylan Cotrone today shares his highly anticipated EP, Weekend Religion, available now on all streaming platforms. The five-track collection captures Dylan’s unique blend of small-town spirit and coastal escapism – mixing bright, upbeat melodies with breezy guitar and a classic rock songwriting style that finds freedom in the in-between moments.

“Weekend Religion is my personal story of finding balance between faith and freedom,” Dylan shares. “Growing up in a Christian household, faith and structure were my cornerstones, but stepping into college life brought a whirlwind of new experiences-some that took me too far from who I was. Coming back home helped me find my grounding again. Now, weekends with my lifelong friends in our small beach town have become our own kind of ritual-a celebration that’s just as meaningful as any Sunday service. This EP is about that push and pull-finding peace in both the simplicity of faith and the joy of weekend freedom.”

The Weekend Religion EP brings together his recent tracks “Weekend Religion”, “Florida California (State of Mind),” and “Looks A Little Something Like You,” alongside two brand-new tracks: “That’s So Crazy” and “Front Porch Famous.”

One of the new highlights, “Front Porch Famous,” arrives with an official video and rides bouncy production, woozy rhythms, and bleary-eyed electric guitar. Right out of the gate, Dylan declares, “Don’t need to be on the Walk of Fame, just a bar where they know my name.” It all builds into a chantable hook-“Front porch famous, barefoot kings.”

“I’ve had a brief taste and glimpse into a world filled with fame, glamour, and flashing lights, but nothing compares to the recognition and love I get from my friends, my family, and the people in my hometown,” says Dylan. “That will always mean more to me than any spotlight ever could, and that’s exactly what “Front Porch Famous” is about – finding joy in the simple things, and realizing that being known and loved at home is the greatest kind of fame there is.”

On Weekend Religion, Dylan bottles up golden-hour glow and sea salt air into songs that feel both nostalgic and forward-looking-built for beach bars, front porches, and long drives, with one foot rooted in Bradenton and the other wherever the road leads next.

Ana Popovic Returns with Genre-Bending New Album ‘Dance To The Rhythm’

0

Powerhouse guitarist-vocalist Ana Popovic returns with her new album, “Dance To The Rhythm” (Electric Heel Records; Release Date: September 26, 2025 digital, October 30, 2026 physical street date). ‘Dance to the Rhythm’ blends searing blues style with elements of rock, R&B, soul and funk to create a unique sound that is intriguing and powerful, unpredictable and new, but unmistakably her very own.

The Serbian-born, Los Angeles based artist known for her electric guitar wizardry and captivating live shows has delivered a ten-track potpourri of tunes — many that seems like Ana is determined to get her fans up and dancing, with upbeat, dance-tinged tracks such as “Worked Up,” “Hurt So Good,” “Sho’ Nuf,” and the title track. There’s also a tasty remake of Paul Simon’s “Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover;” the hot, funk-with-rap flavored “California Chase” and “Hottest Ticket In Town;” and the soul-gospel infused “Dwell On The Feeling” which merges Popovic’s torrid guitar licks with her sweet-toned, idiosyncratic, yet commanding vocals. Popovic shows off her guitar chops on the soulful “Soulution.” Dance to the Rhythm is a mission statement for the masses, alerting her faithful fans that the six-stringer is back—with a bullet.

“Dance To The Rhythm sums up my life and affection towards this incredible path of music I chose, my perseverance and joy of being who I am, musically and in every other way, surrounded with people that support my vision,” says Popovic. “Back in 2022 and 2023 with the Power album I wasn’t sure of anything. I wasn’t sure if that was going to be the last record I would record, if I was taking a break, or if I was even able to physically tour and record. Those were the most challenging few years of my life. The future was unsure.

“For the past three years, Buthel and I have been cooking up another ten pieces of music — pieces of our lives, carefully crafted, to support space and time where we musically right now, and where we want to be in the next few years with our big band, our small band… all the band formations we have,” adds Popovic. “People write to satisfy the critics, to cross over, to satisfy the ‘blues police’ the “rock police” the “any other police.” We write to accommodate our live show. To inspire the band. Because the live show is where it’s at, for us. That’s my passion and that’s my quest in music.

“And it will, as with every record I ever made, let you discover a new Ana, simultaneously reminding you who Ana really is. Because, my dear fans and friends, you haven’t heard it all just yet.”

Dance To The Rhythm, which merges the soulful bliss of ‘70s funk and R&B with Popovic’s rare brand of fearless modern blues, is a barnburner. Ana Popovic remains an inventive modern-day maestro. Listen to the unbridled energy and subtle nuances throughout Dance to the Rhythm and enjoy an eye-opening, ear-expanding experience. Take the journey.

Graceland Vinyl Collection Adds Limited Blue 10” Featuring Elvis Presley Holiday Classics

0

Elvis Presley’s Graceland has announced the third release in the Graceland Vinyl Collection. The new, limited-edition 10” vinyl features two of Elvis’ most iconic holiday classics, “Blue Christmas” and “Santa Claus is Back in Town” and is now available for pre-order exclusively at ShopGraceland.com.

Custom-pressed on stunning blue vinyl, these two tracks capture the spirit of 1957 – a year that gave us Elvis’ first holiday album, his first Christmas at Graceland, and a musical legacy that still echoes every December.

“Blue Christmas” is one of Elvis’ most iconic holiday songs. Written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson and first recorded in 1948, the song became iconic when Elvis gave it his signature sound – complete with Millie Kirkham’s backing vocals and The Jordanaires’ classic harmonies. Although part of his 1957 Christmas album, the track wasn’t released as a single until 1964, when it became a hit. Its performance in the 1968 “Comeback Special” remains the only known video footage of Elvis singing a Christmas song.

The flip side, “Santa Claus is Back in Town,” was written for Elvis by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and introduced a cool, bluesy edge to holiday music that was unmistakably Elvis.

The Graceland Vinyl Collection offers Elvis’ legendary recordings in a limited-edition 10″ vinyl, with each release featuring newly designed jackets and record sleeves, making them truly unique. Previous releases include “That’s All Right,” which sold out during pre-order; and “Stuck on You,” commemorating the 65th anniversary of Elvis’ triumphant return to the spotlight after two years of service in the U.S. Army.

“Blue Christmas” is available now for pre-order on ShopGraceland.com and will ship in early November. The collector’s edition vinyl single will also be available for purchase on-site at Graceland in November, pending availability.

Peezy and Icewear Vezzo Unite for Gritty New Single “So Ghetto”

0

Detroit mainstays Peezy and Icewear Vezzo join forces for their new single “So Ghetto,” out now via EMPIRE. A raw homage to their upbringing and Eastside lifestyle, the track blends Peezy’s sharp storytelling with Vezzo’s signature grit, celebrating both the struggle and the pride that comes with staying true to their roots.

On “So Ghetto,” Peezy paints vivid portraits of daily life, from sugar in his grits to car washes by the hydrant, contrasting them with markers of success, like driving a quarter-million-dollar car while the engine light still flickers. The accompanying video brings those images to life with scenes of stoop hangouts, ankle-monitored baddies, and fast rides tearing through the Eastside, directed by Diego Cruz.

The single follows Peezy’s recent collaboration “All That” with Chicken P and arrives as another defining moment in a career built on resilience and authenticity.

The Barr Brothers Return with Jim James and Joice Adams on Mystical New Single “English Harbour”

0

When The Barr Brothers finally broke their eight-year silence, they did not return alone for their new single “English Harbour.” Brad and Andrew Barr are joined by longtime friend Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Joice Adams of Arc Iris. Together these voices lift the track into something that feels like fate. It’s the third preview on their forthcoming album Let It Hiss (out Oct. 17), a project that does not just mark a comeback but a re-awakening within the band. Rather than picking up the pieces exactly where they left off, the record reflects a rekindling of something deeper—almost like a spiritual renewal of their bond as brothers and collaborators.

“English Harbour” is a clear example of what reconnection can sound like even after years apart. The fingerprints of Brad and Andrew are all over it, but the added harmonies from James and Adams push the song into mystical territory. Together they create more than just a single—it plays like a living memory, the universal feeling of being stuck hovering between the past and present.

Layered in ways that entice you to listen deeply, at first you hear Brad Barr’s guitar playing steady and unhurried, grounding the song. But as the track unfolds, textures begin to reveal themselves—the falsetto of Jim James soaring in the pre-chorus, the gentle harmonies weaving in and out, creating an atmospheric production that wraps everything in a glowing summer haze.

The interplay of voices is one of the track’s most powerful qualities. Together the song is elevated into a mystical and almost fragile state, a created dialogue. The instrumentation never feels cluttered. Instead, it breathes—every pause feels intentional, every layer serving the song’s emotional landscape rather than overwhelming it. It’s a delicate balance, turning focused arrangements into something that feels cinematic.

Unlike other tracks on the upcoming Let It Hiss, “English Harbour” slows things down, asking the listener to sit with uncertainty and to feel the push and pull between giving up and still holding on. Lyrically, the song resonates with images of memory and resilience. The line “You can hang it on the wall / you can lock it up / it’s a picture of us all / what we won’t give up” captures clearly the struggle to preserve fleeting moments without losing hope in the midst of it all. Later, when the chorus swells into “Oh bury us away / Spirit us away / Carry us away in your arms” the song shifts into something different—almost as if it’s surrendering to a larger force than yourself.

For me, “English Harbour” feels like spinning in slow motion in a field at dusk with the world tilting softly around, as the sky drifts from a warm orange into the deep violet of night. It captures the feeling of moments that somehow stretch into infinity. The mystical tones are what linger the most—the graceful folk anchored in each aspect of the song, creating texture that makes it feel alive.

But what excites me most is that “English Harbour” is only one piece of the puzzle, the third glimpse into Let It Hiss. If this track, along with the singles already released, is any indication, The Barr Brothers aren’t simply revisiting their past—they’re reaching for something deeper. Let It Hiss doesn’t just promise a comeback, it feels like a renewal. And “English Harbour” is proof that the wait has been more than worth it.

Rodney Crowell Releases ‘Airline Highway’ with Star Collaborators and Announces Fall Tour

0

Rodney Crowell released his anticipated Airline Highway today via New West Records. The 10-song set was produced by Tyler Bryant and recorded & mixed by Trina Shoemaker in New Orleans, Louisiana. Crackling with live-wire energy, the wise and vibrant album features contributions from some of the most exciting young blues and country artists working today, all of whom count Crowell as a foundational influence. Ashley McBryde co-wrote and sings on “Taking Flight,” Lukas Nelson co-wrote and sings the opener “Rainy Days in California,” Blackberry Smoke guitarist Charlie Starr sings on “Heaven Can You Help,” while Rebecca & Megan Lovell from Larkin Poe add harmonies and slide guitar throughout. Met with critical acclaim, Saving Country Music said, “Rodney Crowell has been one of the most inspiring and influential characters in the history of country music in a career that now spans well over 50 years” while NPR Music said “…he has continued to be one of the great songwriting masters of Country and Americana.” PopMatters said, “Since the death of Johnny Cash, Rodney Crowell has assumed the crown as the King of Country Music, at least the Americana side of the genre,” No Depression said “…ceaselessly inventive, he fearlessly blazes new imaginative trails through familiar musical landscapes,” while MusicRow said “This singer-songwriter belongs in the Country Music Hall of Fame.”

Airline Highway began when Crowell met Bryant, a young guitarist and producer whose band The Shakedown have toured with Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Guns n’ Roses, AC/DC, among others. Crowell says, “He’s one of the most impressive young men I’ve met in a long time. As soon as I met him, I thought, ‘let’s go!’ We immediately started going back and forth between my home studio and his, making demos and talking about what we wanted to do.” A few months later, they packed up a truckload of gear to make the journey down to his old friend Trina Shoemaker’s remote Dockside Studio, in Maurice, Louisiana. “It’s right at the place where nowhere becomes now here,” Crowell laughs. “It’s got a great vibe, and the band all lived under the same roof. The beautiful Vermilion River is nearby. We thought with any luck we’d get eaten by alligators.”

The band worked fast and loose, rarely doing more than two or three takes of any particular song. The lively music and the humid surroundings unlocked old memories and complicated feelings for Crowell, and the players made sure the music reflected all that joy and loss and regret and wonder. “There’s a romance to the swamp, the semi-tropical climate. We put it to good use, even if it was just me romanticizing my connection to Louisiana.”

Crowell has driven many of those backroads when he was growing up on the east side of Houston. Just a few hours west of the state line, he made wild forays into Louisiana as a young man to drink or carouse or mostly catch live music. “You could buy beer in Louisiana without a license, so as soon as we could get away from our parents, my friends and I would drive over the line and go to this club called The Big Oaks Club, where this band called The Boogie Kings played swamp pop soul. In fact, the first recording I ever did was when my buddy and I went over to Crowley, Louisiana, to record at JD Miller’s studio above a beauty shop. But it never came out because the songs we wrote weren’t any good!” It was a humble start to a long and celebrated career for Crowell, who brought a little bit of that swamp-pop fervor to Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band in the 1970s.

Airline Highway focuses on finding new perspectives on your past while living contentedly in the present moment. This is an album about moving on to something new—a different place to call home, a more compassionate understanding of an old love affair, or just the next song on the jukebox. “At a basic level there are a lot more years behind me than there are ahead of me,” Crowell says. “I’m up in the seventh decade of my life,” he says with a laugh, “and I’m glad that I’m still looking forward to certain things I want to do. My ambition isn’t to be a household name anymore. My ambition is to be satisfied with the work that I do. I’m at a place where it really is about having fun.”

Crowell has also announced his initial tour dates in support of Airline Highway. Launching October 1 at Largo in Los Angeles, the tour will feature stops at The City Winery in NYC, The Heights Theater in Crowell’s hometown of Houston, TX, The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago, IL, and more. The Secret Sisters, Thomas Csorba, and William Elliott Whitmore will appear as special guests on select dates. Prior to the Airline Highway tour, Crowell will make anticipated appearances at The Grand Ole Opry on September 3 as well as the Americanafest in Nashville, TN on September 13. Please see tour dates below.

Rodney Crowell moved to Nashville in the early 1970s, coming to prominence first as a writer before establishing himself as a critically acclaimed solo artist in his own right. With 15 #1 songs on the country music charts throughout his career, along with two GRAMMY Awards, he has written hits for such country legends as Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and George Strait, as well as for current chart toppers like Tim McGraw and Keith Urban. He’s been covered by r&b icons (Etta James) and rock legends (Van Morrison, Bob Seger). Last month, the legendary Willie Nelson released his 77th solo studio album, Oh What A Beautiful World which featured new interpretations of 12 classic songs written or co-written by Crowell and features a duet between Nelson and Crowell on its title track.

Throughout the last 20 years, he has been celebrated by the music industry. In 2003, he was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, and in 2006 he received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Songwriting from the Americana Music Association. In 2017 he was honored with ASCAP’s prestigious Founder’s Award, and in 2019 he was presented with the Poet’s Award by the Academy of Country Music. In addition to his prolific output as a singer, songwriter, and producer, he also found time to become a celebrated author, publishing his memoir, Chinaberry Sidewalks, and a lyrical retrospective, Word for Word, both to widespread praise. This year, he was inducted into the prestigious Texas Institute of Letters alongside Cormac McCarthy, Larry McMurtry, and Sandra Cisneros.

Airline Highway is available across digital platforms, on compact disc, and standard black vinyl. A limited blue color vinyl edition autographed by Rodney Crowell, as well as a limited and autographed CD edition, is available at Independent Retailers. The Who Announce Super Deluxe ‘Who Are You’ Reissue with 70+ Unreleased Tracks and New Mixes

0

WHO ARE YOUThe Who’s eighth studio album, is to be released in a suite of formats including a super deluxe edition this October featuring over 70 unreleased tracks including never-before-heard versions of the title track Who Are You, newly mixed live tracks from their first tour without original drummer Keith Moon and candid recordings of the band rehearsing in 1977 and 1978. Also included in the 7CD/1 Blu-ray set are brand-new Atmos & Stereo mixes by Steven Wilson. The album will also be released as a deluxe 4LP box set, a 2CD deluxe edition, and limited-edition coloured and half-speed master vinyl editions.

Initially released in August 1978, WHO ARE YOU marked a significant chapter in The Who’s career while a commercial triumph, peaking at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 and achieving double platinum status and No. 6 on the UK Albums Chart, it was also tragically the last album to feature legendary drummer Keith Moon, who died a week after its release.

The album saw the band pushing boundaries once more, with the songs referencing the incoming influence of British Punk. Most notably, the title track was written after a night out with Steve Jones and Paul Cook of The Sex Pistols, and it reflected the sentiments of Music Must Change and Sister Disco. Pete Townshend also delivered some of his most ambitious and intricate arrangements, incorporating layers of synthesisers and strings into The Who’s powerful backing tracks.

The title track WHO ARE YOU preceded the album in early July 78 and became an instant anthem and has remained in the band’s set list to this day. Aided by its appearance in the CSI TV franchise in the early 2000s, it is one of the band’s most-streamed tracks.

The initial sessions for the album took place at the band’s Ramport Studios, produced by Glyn Johns and Jon Astley. However, the recording process was fraught with challenges and creative tensions. The Who Are You Super Deluxe Edition finally tells the whole story, featuring, for the first time, the rejected original Glyn Johns mix of the album, a newly remastered version of the released Jon Astley mix and fly on the wall rehearsal sessions from Shepperton Studios, which the band owned at the time, and a wealth of unreleased material including demos, alternate takes and in the case of standout track Sister Disco, a previously ‘lost’ guitar solo rescued from the multi-track tapes by Steven Wilson.

In 1978, the album was seen as a return to form for The Who, and anticipation for a tour to support the album was high. Sadly, the death of Keith Moon on the 23rd August put paid to any such plans. The band introduced their new drummer, Kenney Jones, formerly of the Faces and The Small Faces, in May 1979, along with new keyboard player John’ Rabbit’ Bundrick. One of the many highlights of the super deluxe edition is the newly mixed live tapes from the US leg of the 1979 tour, capturing The Who’s explosive new lineup in full flight with tracks from the album coming to life onstage with a renewed energy.

The band sustained that momentum into the new decade with the epic film project The Kids Are Alright, the Quadrophenia movie, and the multi-platinum Face Dances album in 1981.

ABOUT THE WHO

The Who are one of the top three greatest rock legacies in music history with 9 US & 10 UK top ten albums and 14 UK top ten singles.

They have played over well over 2,000 gigs in a career spanning over 50 years including venues such as Woodstock, Monterey Pop, Glastonbury (twice), Hyde Park (four times), The Isle Of Wight (three times), the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics, Desert Trip, Shea Stadium, The Superbowl half time show and Live Aid to name but a very few.

Emerging in the mid-1960s as a new and incendiary force in rock n’ roll, their brash style and poignant storytelling garnered them one of music’s most passionate followings, with the legendary foursome blazing a searing new template for rock, punk, and everything after.

Inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990, the band has placed 27 top-forty singles in the United States and United Kingdom and earning 17 Top Ten albums, including the 1969 groundbreaking rock opera Tommy, 1971’s pummelling Live At Leeds, 1973’s Quadrophenia and 1978’s Who Are You.  The Who debuted in 1964 with a trio of anthems “I Can’t Explain,” “The Kids Are Alright” and “My Generation”. Since then, they have brought the world hits such as Baba O’Riley”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, “Pinball Wizard”, “Who Are You” and “You Better You Bet”.

In 2008, they became the first rock band ever to be awarded the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors. The Who has performed all over the world including global music events for the Super Bowl XLIV Halftime Show in 2010 and closing the Summer Olympics in 2012. The Who continued their charity work by playing a concert in January 2011 to raise money for trials of a new cancer treatment called PDT. In December 2012 they performed at the Hurricane Sandy Benefit in New York.

Alongside his groundbreaking work with the Teenage Cancer Trust in the UK, in November 2012 Daltrey, with Townshend at his side, launched Teen Cancer America www.teencanceramerica.org

Both Roger and Pete delivering their own memoirs (Pete’s Who I Am was released to much acclaim in 2012, and Roger’s Thanks A Lot Mr. Kibblewhite; My Story was embraced by critics in 2018) it’s fitting that the two remaining WHO members have shared their incredible legacy in literary fashion, for few bands have had a more lasting impact on the rock era and the reverberating pop culture than The Who.

The band released their first new album in thirteen years, the critically acclaimed WHO in 2019 and toured the world with their ‘Moving On’ and ‘The Who Hits Back!’ symphonic shows with a full orchestra which were commemorated in 2023 with the album ‘The Who With Orchestra Live At Wembley’, recorded at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium. 2025 sees The Who saying goodbye to their legions of loyal fans in the USA but their music will live on forever.
