Alkaline Trio Unleash New Single “Bleeding Out” With Limited Vinyl and Video Premiere

0

Alkaline Trio’s latest single, “Bleeding Out,” opens with an intriguing and foreboding invitation. The song is a prime example of the band’s unique and potent style, seamlessly blending a deceptively sweet melody with dark, brooding lyricism. Propelled by a powerful, driving rhythm, the track repeatedly soars into an infectious, sing-along chorus that is engineered to be an earworm.

“Bleeding Out” follows the recently released banger “Oblivion” as the second of three songs Alkaline Trio recorded with producer Travis Barker of Blink 182 — the first studio sessions to feature the current Trio lineup of founding guitarist/vocalist Matt Skiba, longtime bassist/vocalist Dan Andriano, and drummer Atom Willard.

Available now across digital platforms, “Bleeding Out” will also be released as a limited edition D2C exclusive color vinyl seven-inch. Also unveiled is the official “Bleeding Out” music video, which finds director Mark Eaton capturing the raw power of a close-quarters Alkaline Trio performance.

Alkaline Trio is currently on tour supporting Blink 182 across the US — as well as playing a few select headline shows and festival dates.

Mercury Studios will release Def Leppard Diamond Star Heroes Live From Sheffield on November 21st. The show, recorded in 2023 in their hometown of Sheffield at Bramall Lane during The World Tour with Mötley Crüe, will be available on Blu-ray/2 CD, 4K UHD, 2 CD and 2 LP. Pressed on red, white and black splatter, the vinyl nods to the home kit colors of Sheffield United FC, who play their home matches at Bramall Lane. Additionally, the 4K UHD will be the band’s first 4K release and includes One Night Only Live At The Leadmill, previously released last year.

Marking the start of their co-headlining European tour with Mötley Crüe, this concert on May 22, 2023, in Sheffield, England, served as a homecoming show for Def Leppard, 47 years since the band’s inception. Performing their second ever hometown stadium concert to a sold-out crowd of almost 40,000 fans, the Blu-ray/2 CD, 2 CD, and 2 LP versions include classics “Photograph” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me” as well as UK live debuts of “Take What You Want” and “This Guitar,” the latter dedicated to the band’s late great guitarist Steve Clark.

On the eve of the band’s tour, Def Leppard revisited their club days and played an intimate show for under 900 die-hard fans from the historic Sheffield venue, The Leadmill. The concert featured a mix of hits and rarities spanning their entire catalog from On Through The Night to the band’s most recent album Diamond Star Halos. This specific show, One Night Only Live At the Leadmill, is available for the first time in the 4K UHD format on the Diamond Star Heroes 4K release.

Classic REO Speedwagon Lineup to Reunite in Champaign for Illinois Homecoming Parade and Halftime Show

0

The classic REO Speedwagon lineup of Kevin Cronin, Bruce Hall, Neal Doughty, and Alan Gratzer will reunite for a special show in their home state of Illinois. On September 27th, the Illinois Marching Illini will honor the group in Champaign, where they formed the band in 1967.

“REO Speedwagon is coming back to campus, the place where it all began, to lead this year’s Illinois Homecoming Parade as our grand marshals on Friday, Sept. 26,” Hall shares on Facebook. “The band members will also participate in game day as the pregame Siren Sounders and will take the field with Barry Houser and the Marching Illini to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind REO-themed halftime show that will feature a medley of the band’s hit songs.”

When a fan commented about Terry Luttrell and Mike Murphy appearing, Hall says, “[N]ot at this time. They requested the classic lineup. It’s really all about Neal and Alan being alumni and starting our amazing band at the university in 1967! What a homecoming for them!!! As the only owner born and raised in Champaign….I’m so proud to return to my hometown!!”

Cronin says, despite their recent differences, he’s looking forward to appearing at the event.

“I am honored to have been approached by representatives of the University of Illinois and invited to appear on the field for the Homecoming Game halftime show on September 27. The Marching Illini will be performing three REO Speedwagon songs, as Alan, Neal, and Bruce play along; it has been too many years to count since the four of us have all been together!” Cronin writes on Facebook. “As a songwriter, there are few greater honors than to hear other artists and musicians perform my songs. I know I will be looking on in awe as the four hundred-plus Marching Illini pay tribute to the music of REO Speedwagon with an all-REO halftime presentation.”

The band members will also participate in game day as the pregame Siren Sounders and will take the field with Barry Houser and the Marching Illini to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind REO-themed halftime show featuring a medley of the band’s hit songs.

The Homecoming parade begins at 6 pm on Friday, September 26th, at the corner of Fourth Street and Kirby Avenue. It will head west on Gregory Drive and turn south on First Street. Immediately following the parade, a post-parade party featuring food, music, and fireworks will take place in Lot 31.

In late 2024, REO Speedwagon announced that they would be ceasing their touring career due to “irreconcilable differences” between Cronin and Hall.

This “feud” was different from the earlier creative tensions between Cronin and guitarist Gary Richrath. It stemmed from a complex situation involving Hall’s recovery from back surgery.

Hall had back surgery and was recovering, with a fill-in bassist, Matt Bissonette, taking his place on tour. While Hall was expected to return to the road, a consensus among some band members, including Cronin, was that he had not recovered sufficiently to perform at the level the band and fans expected.

Hall wanted to return to the band, but Cronin reportedly advised him to sit out the rest of the year. This disagreement led to the “irreconcilable differences” that were cited in the band’s official announcement. According to Cronin, he was “outvoted” on the decision to end the touring career of REO Speedwagon.

The band’s touring effectively ended at the beginning of 2025. Cronin announced that he would continue to tour with the same lineup that had been performing as REO Speedwagon (minus Hall), but under the name The Kevin Cronin Band. This new project would carry on the legacy of REO Speedwagon’s songs.

Earlier this year, the group reunited for a charity concert in Champaign without Cronin. Doughty, Gratzer, Hall, Luttrell, Murphy, and Scorfina said a “proper goodbye” during a one-night-only event in June. Cronin was absent as he was on tour at the time on the Brotherhood of Rock Tour with Styx.

From 1977 to 1989, REO Speedwagon released nine consecutive albums all certified platinum or higher. To date, REO Speedwagon has sold more than 40 million albums around the globe.

Black Stone Cherry Announce New EP ‘Celebrate’ Out March 6, 2026, With Tyler Connolly Guest Appearance and “Neon Eyes” Video

0

Kentucky’s finest, Black Stone Cherry, will release their new EP, Celebrate, on March 6, 2026, via Mascot Records. They explode back into action with the video for their new single, “Neon Eyes.”

Black Stone Cherry is a band in the truest sense of the term. Hard rockers of enormous heart. Four accomplished songwriters with rock, metal, roots, blues, and southern rock in their blood. Old friends with an instinctive, compassionate sense for what the other is feeling.

On Celebrate – produced by the band and recorded at High Street Studios in Bowling Green, Kentucky – they embody all this at the height of their powers. There’s happiness and heartache. Muscular hooks and raw soul. The life experiences of four men approaching 40 (two of them parents), in one emotive, unpolished diamond of a record. Six commanding, stage-ready original tracks and an inspired cover of Simple Minds’ “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” featuring Tyler Connolly of Theory Of A Deadman.

“Neon Eyes” was a soundcheck riff that exploded into a thumping, hard rock party-starter, and the video follows them on a typical day in the life of a band on the road, as they arrive at their headline performance at the 2025 Maid of Stone Festival in the UK.

Fans get a glimpse of the band behind-the-scenes, how they prepare for a show, them mingling with the crowd, fans rejoicing throughout the day, and all the way up to a typically high voltage performance showing what an undeniable force they are – plus some magical and unforgettable memories made during the day.

Celebrate is an EP of contrasts. “I’m Fine” is a dreamily woozy, Nirvana-laced grunge singalong. But it was the searing, mid-tempo heartache of “Deep” that struck a really pertinent chord – with Ben in particular. Following long struggles with fertility issues, he and his wife suffered a miscarriage midway through the writing process. Two days later, he was channelling the experience into “Deep.”

For a curveball, Celebrate is capped off with a strapping yet sensuous cover of Simple Minds’ classic “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” featuring guest vocals from old Black Stone Cherry friend Tyler Connolly. Immortalised in John Hughes’ seminal 1985 coming-of-age film The Breakfast Club, it turned out to be a surprisingly natural fit for Black Stone Cherry. A happy pairing with the soulful gravel and sincerity of Chris’s vocals. “I love that song!” the frontman laughs.

Envy Of None Release ‘The Thrill’ Single With New Video and Charity Vinyl Supporting Ukraine

0

Following the release of their lauded second album Stygian Wavz in March, Canadian four-piece Envy Of None are back with a three-track single and a brand-new video. The new offering features an alternative version of the album track, a demo version, and the album track itself via Snapper Music.

“‘Thrill of the Chase’ was one of the last songs we worked on before handing in the completed record. It started with Alf’s funky demo and Maiah loved it and was very vocal about completing it,” says bassist Andy Curran. “She and I were wanting to add something up tempo to the record and this one, despite being a little left of center style-wise wise seemed to fit nicely. It has a cool, funky, positive vibe that we enjoyed exploring, especially the outro dance party section!”

Alongside the digital release, Envy Of None will also be releasing The Thrill as a 12-inch colored vinyl version of the single, with all proceeds from this release donated to UNHCR’s response to the Ukraine emergency.

The Chainsmokers Drop Euphoric New Single “Smooth” With Cinematic Video Shot in Big Bear

0

Grammy Award-winning and chart-topping artist/producer duo The Chainsmokers return with their latest single, “Smooth,” via Sony Music. Opening with airy textures and delicate piano, “Smooth” eases into a reflective space before erupting into a euphoric drop that transforms the track into a full-scale banger. Shimmering synths, crisp percussion, and a surging beat collide to create a sound that balances atmospheric beauty with sheer dancefloor power. Sneaking the song into their recent live sets, the track has already been high in demand and igniting crowds across the country.

The release arrives alongside an official video directed by Jackson Wigger and starring Alex and Drew with special guest Mishoo Pall. Shot against the backdrop of Big Bear, California, the visual mirrors the track’s cinematic feel and captures a sense of liberation and escapism — from windblown performances in the back of a truck soaring down an open highway, to carefree joyrides across the water in a speeding boat.

“Smooth” follows on the heels of their latest tracks “Helium” and “White Wine & Adderall,” collectively marking a fresh chapter in their ever-evolving sound. Next, they’ll bring the track to stages across North America and Mexico, including their signature Vegas residency, Breakaway Music Festival in Alabama, and Festival Pulso GNP in Santiago de Querétaro.
