Greenness Announce New Single “Meltdown” Ahead of Sophomore Album ‘Honeymoons’

0

Fresh from their Glastonbury debut, and ahead of a much-anticipated full band performance at Victorious Festival, Greenness are announcing their new single Meltdown due out Friday 29th August 2025 via One Fern Records. Following on from previous single Hilltop(“Utterly flawless” – Music is My Radar), this indie alt-pop seaside bop is the second single from the duo’s upcoming sophomore album, Honeymoons.

In the words of Greenness’ singer and songwriter Cess, “Meltdown is a tragic-comic take on the modern artist’s struggle to get their voice heard in an endless sea of noise. I wanted to write honest and relatable lyrics for anyone out there pursuing their dreams relentlessly, to the point of burnout and despair; chasing fame like an elusive mistress, trying every trick in the book to get noticed, feeling frustrated and stressed… and almost forgetting who you are in the process.”

“As independent musicians, we give it our all, and get caught up in this kind of madness now and then”, acknowledges Greenness’ producer and composer Graham, who plays every instrument on the track. “No role left unassumed, no stone left unrolled, everything in quadruple! It’s too much and never enough, but what it always comes back to is the joy of making and sharing our very own music, just for the hell of it.”

Wooten, Murphy, and Clark Announce Rock Opera ‘A Man of Fortune’ After 50 Years in the Making

0

Austin-based musicians Jeff Clark, Darin Murphy and Brian Wooten announce the official release of their latest project as Wooten, Murphy, and Clark, the rock opera “A Man of Fortune,” slated to be released Friday, Oct. 17.

“A Man of Fortune” is a decades-long labor of love that ties together three distinct, legendary careers. After 50 years, the opera about the life of lead character Max Million, a famous rockstar confronting life, love and mortality, finally saw completion last September and will be officially released this October with interludes and dialogue interspersed throughout.

Together, Jeff Clark, Brian Wooten and Darin Murphy fuse decades of friendship, musical mastery, and storytelling to bring “A Man of Fortune” to life. Wooten, Murphy, and Clark will be releasing lyric videos for each track on the album, starting with “Stay Strong,” officially out now.

“You can hear the influence of my musical partnership with Brian Wooten from the ’70s and early ’80s throughout the album,” said Jeff Clark. “The resulting sound is a blend of Brian’s guitar work, Darin’s vocal prowess, my songwriting style, and the contributions of many other collaborators who helped shape the music.”

Originally conceived by Jeff Clark in the 1970s and early 1980s, “A Man of Fortune” began as a deeply personal songwriting endeavor, telling the story of performer Max Million, who, at the height of his career, meets event coordinator Lisa. Their brief but meaningful encounter sparks a journey of self-discovery for Max after he collapses during the encore and is hospitalized.

“I think the album shares a very, very positive message and something that I relate to, I think like all people, especially in the music business, we all take our lives and our youth for granted,” said Darin Murphy. “And when things happen, it can be very shocking and very, very frightening. We all find our own way to come to terms with it.”

The songs in “A Man of Fortune” came together gradually over the last half a century, some sparked by Clark’s illnesses, others through bursts of lyrical or instrumental inspiration. The opera was tracked over multiple years with contributions from an ensemble of seasoned musicians, including John Spittle (drums), Michael Medina (bass, percussion), Sid Hagan (vocals, mastering), and keyboardists Brent McCollough and Dennis Patton. The album encompasses many styles and genres, reflecting the span of time and musicians dedicated to its release.

“I listened to the album recently, from top to bottom, and I was smiling at the end of it,” said Brian Wooten. “It sounds great.”

More than an album, “A Man of Fortune” is a rock opera that marries dramatic storytelling with classic rock firepower – a 50-year labor of love that channels Austin’s creative heart into a universal story of fame, love, and mortality. Clocking in at 67 minutes, it delivers a classic rock opera experience – epic, heartfelt, and uncompromising.

Dylan Cotrone Shares New EP ‘Weekend Religion,’ A Blend of Faith, Freedom, and Coastal Spirit

0

Dylan Cotrone today shares his highly anticipated EP, Weekend Religion, available now on all streaming platforms. The five-track collection captures Dylan’s unique blend of small-town spirit and coastal escapism – mixing bright, upbeat melodies with breezy guitar and a classic rock songwriting style that finds freedom in the in-between moments.

“Weekend Religion is my personal story of finding balance between faith and freedom,” Dylan shares. “Growing up in a Christian household, faith and structure were my cornerstones, but stepping into college life brought a whirlwind of new experiences-some that took me too far from who I was. Coming back home helped me find my grounding again. Now, weekends with my lifelong friends in our small beach town have become our own kind of ritual-a celebration that’s just as meaningful as any Sunday service. This EP is about that push and pull-finding peace in both the simplicity of faith and the joy of weekend freedom.”

The Weekend Religion EP brings together his recent tracks “Weekend Religion”, “Florida California (State of Mind),” and “Looks A Little Something Like You,” alongside two brand-new tracks: “That’s So Crazy” and “Front Porch Famous.”

One of the new highlights, “Front Porch Famous,” arrives with an official video and rides bouncy production, woozy rhythms, and bleary-eyed electric guitar. Right out of the gate, Dylan declares, “Don’t need to be on the Walk of Fame, just a bar where they know my name.” It all builds into a chantable hook-“Front porch famous, barefoot kings.”

“I’ve had a brief taste and glimpse into a world filled with fame, glamour, and flashing lights, but nothing compares to the recognition and love I get from my friends, my family, and the people in my hometown,” says Dylan. “That will always mean more to me than any spotlight ever could, and that’s exactly what “Front Porch Famous” is about – finding joy in the simple things, and realizing that being known and loved at home is the greatest kind of fame there is.”

On Weekend Religion, Dylan bottles up golden-hour glow and sea salt air into songs that feel both nostalgic and forward-looking-built for beach bars, front porches, and long drives, with one foot rooted in Bradenton and the other wherever the road leads next.

Ana Popovic Returns with Genre-Bending New Album ‘Dance To The Rhythm’

0

Powerhouse guitarist-vocalist Ana Popovic returns with her new album, “Dance To The Rhythm” (Electric Heel Records; Release Date: September 26, 2025 digital, October 30, 2026 physical street date). ‘Dance to the Rhythm’ blends searing blues style with elements of rock, R&B, soul and funk to create a unique sound that is intriguing and powerful, unpredictable and new, but unmistakably her very own.

The Serbian-born, Los Angeles based artist known for her electric guitar wizardry and captivating live shows has delivered a ten-track potpourri of tunes — many that seems like Ana is determined to get her fans up and dancing, with upbeat, dance-tinged tracks such as “Worked Up,” “Hurt So Good,” “Sho’ Nuf,” and the title track. There’s also a tasty remake of Paul Simon’s “Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover;” the hot, funk-with-rap flavored “California Chase” and “Hottest Ticket In Town;” and the soul-gospel infused “Dwell On The Feeling” which merges Popovic’s torrid guitar licks with her sweet-toned, idiosyncratic, yet commanding vocals. Popovic shows off her guitar chops on the soulful “Soulution.” Dance to the Rhythm is a mission statement for the masses, alerting her faithful fans that the six-stringer is back—with a bullet.

“Dance To The Rhythm sums up my life and affection towards this incredible path of music I chose, my perseverance and joy of being who I am, musically and in every other way, surrounded with people that support my vision,” says Popovic. “Back in 2022 and 2023 with the Power album I wasn’t sure of anything. I wasn’t sure if that was going to be the last record I would record, if I was taking a break, or if I was even able to physically tour and record. Those were the most challenging few years of my life. The future was unsure.

“For the past three years, Buthel and I have been cooking up another ten pieces of music — pieces of our lives, carefully crafted, to support space and time where we musically right now, and where we want to be in the next few years with our big band, our small band… all the band formations we have,” adds Popovic. “People write to satisfy the critics, to cross over, to satisfy the ‘blues police’ the “rock police” the “any other police.” We write to accommodate our live show. To inspire the band. Because the live show is where it’s at, for us. That’s my passion and that’s my quest in music.

“And it will, as with every record I ever made, let you discover a new Ana, simultaneously reminding you who Ana really is. Because, my dear fans and friends, you haven’t heard it all just yet.”

Dance To The Rhythm, which merges the soulful bliss of ‘70s funk and R&B with Popovic’s rare brand of fearless modern blues, is a barnburner. Ana Popovic remains an inventive modern-day maestro. Listen to the unbridled energy and subtle nuances throughout Dance to the Rhythm and enjoy an eye-opening, ear-expanding experience. Take the journey.

Graceland Vinyl Collection Adds Limited Blue 10” Featuring Elvis Presley Holiday Classics

0

Elvis Presley’s Graceland has announced the third release in the Graceland Vinyl Collection. The new, limited-edition 10” vinyl features two of Elvis’ most iconic holiday classics, “Blue Christmas” and “Santa Claus is Back in Town” and is now available for pre-order exclusively at ShopGraceland.com.

Custom-pressed on stunning blue vinyl, these two tracks capture the spirit of 1957 – a year that gave us Elvis’ first holiday album, his first Christmas at Graceland, and a musical legacy that still echoes every December.

“Blue Christmas” is one of Elvis’ most iconic holiday songs. Written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson and first recorded in 1948, the song became iconic when Elvis gave it his signature sound – complete with Millie Kirkham’s backing vocals and The Jordanaires’ classic harmonies. Although part of his 1957 Christmas album, the track wasn’t released as a single until 1964, when it became a hit. Its performance in the 1968 “Comeback Special” remains the only known video footage of Elvis singing a Christmas song.

The flip side, “Santa Claus is Back in Town,” was written for Elvis by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller and introduced a cool, bluesy edge to holiday music that was unmistakably Elvis.

The Graceland Vinyl Collection offers Elvis’ legendary recordings in a limited-edition 10″ vinyl, with each release featuring newly designed jackets and record sleeves, making them truly unique. Previous releases include “That’s All Right,” which sold out during pre-order; and “Stuck on You,” commemorating the 65th anniversary of Elvis’ triumphant return to the spotlight after two years of service in the U.S. Army.

“Blue Christmas” is available now for pre-order on ShopGraceland.com and will ship in early November. The collector’s edition vinyl single will also be available for purchase on-site at Graceland in November, pending availability.

Peezy and Icewear Vezzo Unite for Gritty New Single “So Ghetto”

0

Detroit mainstays Peezy and Icewear Vezzo join forces for their new single “So Ghetto,” out now via EMPIRE. A raw homage to their upbringing and Eastside lifestyle, the track blends Peezy’s sharp storytelling with Vezzo’s signature grit, celebrating both the struggle and the pride that comes with staying true to their roots.

On “So Ghetto,” Peezy paints vivid portraits of daily life, from sugar in his grits to car washes by the hydrant, contrasting them with markers of success, like driving a quarter-million-dollar car while the engine light still flickers. The accompanying video brings those images to life with scenes of stoop hangouts, ankle-monitored baddies, and fast rides tearing through the Eastside, directed by Diego Cruz.

The single follows Peezy’s recent collaboration “All That” with Chicken P and arrives as another defining moment in a career built on resilience and authenticity.

The Barr Brothers Return with Jim James and Joice Adams on Mystical New Single “English Harbour”

0

When The Barr Brothers finally broke their eight-year silence, they did not return alone for their new single “English Harbour.” Brad and Andrew Barr are joined by longtime friend Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Joice Adams of Arc Iris. Together these voices lift the track into something that feels like fate. It’s the third preview on their forthcoming album Let It Hiss (out Oct. 17), a project that does not just mark a comeback but a re-awakening within the band. Rather than picking up the pieces exactly where they left off, the record reflects a rekindling of something deeper—almost like a spiritual renewal of their bond as brothers and collaborators.

“English Harbour” is a clear example of what reconnection can sound like even after years apart. The fingerprints of Brad and Andrew are all over it, but the added harmonies from James and Adams push the song into mystical territory. Together they create more than just a single—it plays like a living memory, the universal feeling of being stuck hovering between the past and present.

Layered in ways that entice you to listen deeply, at first you hear Brad Barr’s guitar playing steady and unhurried, grounding the song. But as the track unfolds, textures begin to reveal themselves—the falsetto of Jim James soaring in the pre-chorus, the gentle harmonies weaving in and out, creating an atmospheric production that wraps everything in a glowing summer haze.

The interplay of voices is one of the track’s most powerful qualities. Together the song is elevated into a mystical and almost fragile state, a created dialogue. The instrumentation never feels cluttered. Instead, it breathes—every pause feels intentional, every layer serving the song’s emotional landscape rather than overwhelming it. It’s a delicate balance, turning focused arrangements into something that feels cinematic.

Unlike other tracks on the upcoming Let It Hiss, “English Harbour” slows things down, asking the listener to sit with uncertainty and to feel the push and pull between giving up and still holding on. Lyrically, the song resonates with images of memory and resilience. The line “You can hang it on the wall / you can lock it up / it’s a picture of us all / what we won’t give up” captures clearly the struggle to preserve fleeting moments without losing hope in the midst of it all. Later, when the chorus swells into “Oh bury us away / Spirit us away / Carry us away in your arms” the song shifts into something different—almost as if it’s surrendering to a larger force than yourself.

For me, “English Harbour” feels like spinning in slow motion in a field at dusk with the world tilting softly around, as the sky drifts from a warm orange into the deep violet of night. It captures the feeling of moments that somehow stretch into infinity. The mystical tones are what linger the most—the graceful folk anchored in each aspect of the song, creating texture that makes it feel alive.

But what excites me most is that “English Harbour” is only one piece of the puzzle, the third glimpse into Let It Hiss. If this track, along with the singles already released, is any indication, The Barr Brothers aren’t simply revisiting their past—they’re reaching for something deeper. Let It Hiss doesn’t just promise a comeback, it feels like a renewal. And “English Harbour” is proof that the wait has been more than worth it.
