The Great Escape turns 30 this year and to celebrate, this seminal album from one of Britain’s most beloved bands will be available in a very special, brand new Half Speed Mastered Double-Disc Colored Vinyl Edition; out December 12th via Parlophone.

The Great Escape (30th Anniversary Edition) features the 15-track standard album (Disc One); as well as a collection of rare B-sides and bonus tracks (Disc Two) from the album era, several of which are previously unreleased on vinyl; available on yellow and turquoise vinyl and beautifully housed in a gatefold cover sleeve featuring all-new expanded artwork by artist and designer Tony Hung. 

Released to widespread critical acclaim on September 11th 1995, The Great Escape is blur’s fourth studio album, the follow-up to Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree’s international breakthrough release, Parklife (1994). Featuring a run of hit singles – “Country House,”  “The Universal,” “Stereotypes,” and “Charmless Man”- The Great Escape debuted at #1 on the UK Album Charts and went on to achieve triple Platinum status in the UK. One of Nine Release New Single “Dreadful Leap” Ahead of Forthcoming Album ‘Dawn of the Iron Shadow’

From the shadowed vales of Brethil, One of Nine unveils their hymn “Dreadful Leap,” a glimpse into their forthcoming epic, Dawn of the Iron Shadow, to be released on October 31 through Profound Lore Records.

Rooted in the tale of Túrin son of Húrin and the bitter fate of Nienor, the song rises as a lament of doom and grief, its sorrowful voice joined with the presence of Hulder as the Tear Maiden.

The cover artwork was carefully wrought by the hand of Ted Nasmith, a craftsman of no small renown who is the illustrator of J. R. R. Tolkien’s works The Lord of the Rings, Unfinished Tales, and The Silmarillion.

Fresh from their Glastonbury debut, and ahead of a much-anticipated full band performance at Victorious Festival, Greenness are announcing their new single Meltdown due out Friday 29th August 2025 via One Fern Records. Following on from previous single Hilltop(“Utterly flawless” – Music is My Radar), this indie alt-pop seaside bop is the second single from the duo’s upcoming sophomore album, Honeymoons.

In the words of Greenness’ singer and songwriter Cess, “Meltdown is a tragic-comic take on the modern artist’s struggle to get their voice heard in an endless sea of noise. I wanted to write honest and relatable lyrics for anyone out there pursuing their dreams relentlessly, to the point of burnout and despair; chasing fame like an elusive mistress, trying every trick in the book to get noticed, feeling frustrated and stressed… and almost forgetting who you are in the process.”

Wooten, Murphy, and Clark Announce Rock Opera ‘A Man of Fortune’ After 50 Years in the Making

Austin-based musicians Jeff Clark, Darin Murphy and Brian Wooten announce the official release of their latest project as Wooten, Murphy, and Clark, the rock opera “A Man of Fortune,” slated to be released Friday, Oct. 17.

“A Man of Fortune” is a decades-long labor of love that ties together three distinct, legendary careers. After 50 years, the opera about the life of lead character Max Million, a famous rockstar confronting life, love and mortality, finally saw completion last September and will be officially released this October with interludes and dialogue interspersed throughout.

Together, Jeff Clark, Brian Wooten and Darin Murphy fuse decades of friendship, musical mastery, and storytelling to bring “A Man of Fortune” to life. Wooten, Murphy, and Clark will be releasing lyric videos for each track on the album, starting with “Stay Strong,” officially out now.

“You can hear the influence of my musical partnership with Brian Wooten from the ’70s and early ’80s throughout the album,” said Jeff Clark. “The resulting sound is a blend of Brian’s guitar work, Darin’s vocal prowess, my songwriting style, and the contributions of many other collaborators who helped shape the music.”

Originally conceived by Jeff Clark in the 1970s and early 1980s, “A Man of Fortune” began as a deeply personal songwriting endeavor, telling the story of performer Max Million, who, at the height of his career, meets event coordinator Lisa. Their brief but meaningful encounter sparks a journey of self-discovery for Max after he collapses during the encore and is hospitalized.

“I think the album shares a very, very positive message and something that I relate to, I think like all people, especially in the music business, we all take our lives and our youth for granted,” said Darin Murphy. “And when things happen, it can be very shocking and very, very frightening. We all find our own way to come to terms with it.”

The songs in “A Man of Fortune” came together gradually over the last half a century, some sparked by Clark’s illnesses, others through bursts of lyrical or instrumental inspiration. The opera was tracked over multiple years with contributions from an ensemble of seasoned musicians, including John Spittle (drums), Michael Medina (bass, percussion), Sid Hagan (vocals, mastering), and keyboardists Brent McCollough and Dennis Patton. The album encompasses many styles and genres, reflecting the span of time and musicians dedicated to its release.

“I listened to the album recently, from top to bottom, and I was smiling at the end of it,” said Brian Wooten. “It sounds great.”

More than an album, “A Man of Fortune” is a rock opera that marries dramatic storytelling with classic rock firepower – a 50-year labor of love that channels Austin’s creative heart into a universal story of fame, love, and mortality. Clocking in at 67 minutes, it delivers a classic rock opera experience – epic, heartfelt, and uncompromising.

The Callous Daoboys Announce First UK & European Headline Tour for 2026

Atlanta-based sextet The Callous Daoboys have confirmed details of their first full UK and European headline tour, set to kick off in February 2026. The announcement follows the release of their widely praised new album I Don’t Want to See You in Heaven and a year of touring across North America.

Support throughout the tour comes from Knives, with rising UK outfit Love Rarely joining the bill exclusively on the UK dates.

The tour begins February 4th in Amsterdam and will hit 19 cities across the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, France, Switzerland, and the UK. The run concludes with a London finale at the Camden Underworld on February 28th.

Peter McPoland Announces ‘Big Lucky’ Tour Following Forthcoming Album Release

Following last week’s exciting announcement of his fourth full-length album, Big Lucky (out September 26th), Peter McPoland announces the accompanying tour today.

Spanning both coasts and a total of 30 dates, The Big Lucky tour will commence at The Roxy in Los Angeles on November 3rd. Peter will be accompanied on his upcoming tour by his childhood best friends and fellow musicians that now serve as his band – Joe Curtin, Landon Laney, and Josh Suarez. With over 450 million streams on Spotify alone, Peter has touched scores of fans worldwide. Ice Nine Kills Bring Silver Scream Con to London After First UK Arena Tour

Following four blockbuster years in the US, theatrical metal heavyweights Ice Nine Kills are bringing their acclaimed horror convention overseas with the launch of Silver Scream Con London.

The two-day event takes place December 13th & 14th at London’s Cumberland Hotel in Marble Arch, directly following the band’s first UK arena headline tour, which concludes with a milestone performance at Wembley’s OVO Arena on Friday, December 12.

Charnas, who grew up attending horror conventions and remains a regular presence at such gatherings worldwide, has worked alongside a team of experienced convention organizers to create an event that merges music, horror, and immersive fan experiences. Each Silver Scream Con features celebrity meet-and-greets, exclusive photo opportunities, Q&A panels, and interactive attractions inspired by classic genre staples.

The convention has quickly become one of the most notable horror events in the United States, growing from its original home near Salem, Massachusetts, to the much larger DCU Center in Worcester within just two years. Now, with Silver Scream Con London, Ice Nine Kills are set to cater to their rapidly expanding international fanbase.

The first wave of guests has been announced, including Terrifier director Damien Leone and actor David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown), with more names and the full schedule to be revealed in the coming weeks.

Right out of the gate, Dylan declares, “Don’t need to be on the Walk of Fame, just a bar where they know my name.” It all builds into a chantable hook-“Front porch famous, barefoot kings.”

“I’ve had a brief taste and glimpse into a world filled with fame, glamour, and flashing lights, but nothing compares to the recognition and love I get from my friends, my family, and the people in my hometown,” says Dylan. “That will always mean more to me than any spotlight ever could, and that’s exactly what “Front Porch Famous” is about – finding joy in the simple things, and realizing that being known and loved at home is the greatest kind of fame there is.”

Ana Popovic Returns with Genre-Bending New Album ‘Dance To The Rhythm’

Powerhouse guitarist-vocalist Ana Popovic returns with her new album, “Dance To The Rhythm” (Electric Heel Records; Release Date: September 26, 2025 digital, October 30, 2026 physical street date). ‘Dance to the Rhythm’ blends searing blues style with elements of rock, R&B, soul and funk to create a unique sound that is intriguing and powerful, unpredictable and new, but unmistakably her very own.

The Serbian-born, Los Angeles based artist known for her electric guitar wizardry and captivating live shows has delivered a ten-track potpourri of tunes — many that seems like Ana is determined to get her fans up and dancing, with upbeat, dance-tinged tracks such as “Worked Up,” “Hurt So Good,” “Sho’ Nuf,” and the title track. There’s also a tasty remake of Paul Simon’s “Fifty Ways To Leave Your Lover;” the hot, funk-with-rap flavored “California Chase” and “Hottest Ticket In Town;” and the soul-gospel infused “Dwell On The Feeling” which merges Popovic’s torrid guitar licks with her sweet-toned, idiosyncratic, yet commanding vocals. I wasn’t sure if that was going to be the last record I would record, if I was taking a break, or if I was even able to physically tour and record. Those were the most challenging few years of my life. The future was unsure.

“For the past three years, Buthel and I have been cooking up another ten pieces of music — pieces of our lives, carefully crafted, to support space and time where we musically right now, and where we want to be in the next few years with our big band, our small band… all the band formations we have,” adds Popovic. “People write to satisfy the critics, to cross over, to satisfy the ‘blues police’ the “rock police” the “any other police.” We write to accommodate our live show. To inspire the band. Because the live show is where it’s at, for us. That’s my passion and that’s my quest in music.

“And it will, as with every record I ever made, let you discover a new Ana, simultaneously reminding you who Ana really is. Because, my dear fans and friends, you haven’t heard it all just yet.”
