Lithuanian-born, UK-based singer-songwriter Grete reaches territory she has never touched before with “PARADE,” stepping into the world of alternative rock. Led by a wicked riff played on crushing drop-tuned guitars, the instrumental serves as a perfect backdrop for Grete’s powerful vocals, pulling inspiration from Paramore and Bring Me the Horizon stylistically, with vocal influences from Tina Turner and Demi Lovato. Throughout the song, she discusses the current focus on comparison and herd mentality in the modern world, including how it negatively affects her and those around her, accompanied by a music video visualizing the different sides to Grete and further driving home the song’s empowering message. The 24-year-old artist spent years performing jazz and pop covers across Lithuanian TV, including as a finalist on The Voice Lithuania in 2018, before leaving her home to start her career in the UK. As an independent artist, she has released two EPs, and with “PARADE,” Grete will compete in Lithuania’s pre-Eurovision competition to represent the country in the 2026 Eurovision contest.
Mau5trap Releases ‘We Are Friends Vol. 12’ Disc 1 With The XTTC, Ciauru, And “Strobe” Retake
Following a strong run of 2025 releases from label leader deadmau5, BlackGummy, Becking, Screamarts, Skellytn, and Lamorn, mau5trap charges into 2026 with the first of two discs for the twelfth installment of its long-running compilation series ‘We Are Friends Vol. 12’. The collection’s focus track “1 of My Kind” comes from The XTTC, an anonymous collaboration between an electronic music producer and DJ and a visual artist with roots in comics and large-scale concert visuals. Built around the fantasy lives of three masked vigilante characters, X, Ruby Knives, and Lil C, who exist to disrupt symbols of power and inject chaos into systems thriving on obedience, the project presents cinematic storytelling soundtracked by driving electro, seductive vocals, and dark-room energy. The XTTC chooses anonymity as resistance in a time when identity gets scraped, tracked, packaged, and fed into algorithms designed to predict and control behavior, creating space for rebellion, contradiction, and freedom to exist without consequence.
The 15-track disc one also features singles “Supersonic Electronic (on acid)” from Italy’s Ciauru, packed with tribal rhythms and precision-engineered bleeps, and the featured remix “Strobe” (&friends, Moeaike Retake). For the sole remix on disc one, mau5trap tapped emerging artists &friends and Moeaike for a fresh retake on the deadmau5 classic. &friends continues to solidify his place as one of the most intentional voices in global electronic music following breakout singles “Temptation” featuring Bipolar Sunshine and “Jackie B,” while Italian duo Moeaike, known for their 2024 breakout hit “Mala Fama,” join a prestigious lineage of artists including Layton Giordani, Dimension, and Lane 8 who have officially remixed “Strobe.” Since 2012, the We Are Friends series has served as a launchpad for emerging talent, introducing the world to artists such as REZZ, i_o, ATTLAS, BlackGummy, and No Mana. Over a decade since its formation, mau5trap has become a bastion for trailblazing, genre-defying artists, with Mixmag readers voting it among the Top 50 Labels of the Decade, placing it in the Top 10.

Della Mae Share “Family Tree” Ahead Of New Album ‘Magic Accident’ Arriving January 23
Della Mae release “Family Tree,” the second single from their upcoming album ‘Magic Accident’, arriving January 23 via Compass Records. Band founder and fiddler Kimber Ludiker channels the modal, Appalachian fiddle tune tradition on the new single, co-written with Della Mae’s guitarist Avril Smith and singer-songwriter Becky Warren. The track offers one of the album’s most bluegrass-heavy moments with Ludiker’s hard driving fiddle propelled by Alison Brown’s banjo, delivering a meditation on generational trauma, how to recognize the cycle, cope with it, and ultimately break it. ‘Magic Accident’ marks the first full length release from Della Mae since 2021’s ‘Family Reunion’, showcasing the band’s vocal strength, instrumental skill and songwriting prowess on a set of mostly original songs drawing inspiration from Americana-influenced tracks, hard-driving bluegrass romps, and dreamy indie-folk-inspired material.
The band explains the new project: “We are incredibly proud to share this album, produced by our hero Alison Brown. Magic Accident explores the complexity of being human and the drive to seize joy and possibility amid the sheer improbability of being here at all. Each of us contributed songs to this project, making it our most collaborative record to date, and it features co-writes with artists we’ve long admired.” Since forming in Boston in 2010, Della Mae has demonstrated to the roots music community that an all-women band operates far beyond novelty. Their 2013 Rounder Records release ‘This World Oft Can Be’ earned their first GRAMMY nomination for Best Bluegrass Album, with the International Bluegrass Music Association naming them Emerging Artist of the Year the same year. Over the years, Della Mae has performed in more than 30 countries representing the U.S. State Department and played at nearly every major festival on the U.S. roots music circuit.

The Black Crowes Drop New Album ‘A Pound Of Feathers’ On March 13
The Black Crowes drop a new studio album titled ‘A Pound of Feathers’ on March 13, following their busy past few years highlighted by high-profile tours and 2024’s ‘Happiness Bastards’. Helmed as always by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, the band recorded the 11-track album in Nashville with GRAMMY-winning producer Jay Joyce, launching the announcement with pre-release tracks “Profane Prophecy” and “Pharmacy Chronicles.” Chris Robinson describes the quick creation: “We made this record in eight to ten days. Bringing the high and inspiration from Happiness Bastards into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best shit he’s ever done.”
Rich Robinson adds context to the album’s creative approach: “This album feels transformative to us. Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence.” The speed of the recording process clearly worked in the band’s favor, capturing raw energy without overthinking the material. After decades together, the Robinson brothers continue finding new ways to channel their blues and rock instincts into something that pushes their sound forward while staying rooted in what made them essential in the first place.

Grace Annabella Anderson Releases “Time To Let You Go” Ahead Of Debut Album ‘Art, Baby’
Multifaceted talent Grace Annabella Anderson releases her illuminating single “Time To Let You Go,” a moment of clarity and renewal capturing the quiet power of choosing freedom, softness, and forward motion after upheaval. Built on airy textures, restrained instrumentation, and Anderson’s intimate vocal delivery, it captures release without dramatization as the latest offering from her forthcoming debut album ‘Art, Baby’, arriving February 6. Anderson shares: “‘Time To Let You Go’ feels like driving down a winding coastal highway with all of the windows down. The willowy, semi-submerged vocals in the chorus surround and illuminate the lyrics ‘time to let you go’ like flecks of sunlight, and the decision to move on feels clear, not weighted, not belabored, but freeing and natural. I wrote this song to usher in a new chapter and fresh start, decidedly putting uncertainty, conflict, and betrayal in the past and celebrating the vastness and abundance of life still ahead of me.” The song joins previously released singles “Love Potion,” “Take It Back,” “Halfway,” “Transgressor,” and title track “Art, Baby” from the 13-track record.
Produced at The Planetarium in Nashville with Thomas Dulin, ‘Art, Baby’ explores themes of nostalgia, disillusionment, and desire through poetic lyricism, confessional storytelling, and emotional reckoning. Drawing inspiration from artists like Lizzy McAlpine, Faye Webster, and Joni Mitchell, Anderson evokes similar emotional resonance in her writing and delivery. Her lyrics, informed by her background as a published poet with work featured in Mistake House Magazine, Applause Literary Journal, New Croton Review, and NYU’s West 10th where she received the Editor’s Award in Poetry, exist at the intersection of literature and sound. Beyond music, Anderson has made her mark in fashion, walking for Lanyu Couture and Sandriver Cashmere during New York Fashion Week SS26 and appearing in Lost Pattern’s “Oasis” collection, China Institute Fashion Night, and Alexis Levan’s collection for New York Bridal Fashion Week. For the recording of ‘Art, Baby’, Anderson was joined by Nate Dugger on guitar, Ian Miller on piano, Brent Milligan on bass guitar, and Tim Buell on drums, with Jake Hartsfield mixing and Joe Causey at Voyager Mastering handling mastering.
