Konstance and Seal Deliver Emotional Single “Mama” for Idris Elba’s Film

0

Nineteen-year-old rising star Konstance returns with a powerful new single, “Mama,” featuring the legendary Seal, an emotionally resonant track created as the poignant centerpiece for the upcoming Idris Elba directed short film Dust To Dreams. The song, released via Elba’s record label 7Wallace, beautifully blends Konstance’s soulful vocals with Seal’s signature depth and cinematic orchestration, serving as a powerful meditation on legacy, family, and forgiveness within the film’s narrative. Co-writer Idris Elba himself praised the song, stating that it “was made with love and collaboration between film and music,” guaranteeing that this genre-defying piece will linger long after the film’s credits roll.

Hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Konstance has already earned recognition from industry mavens like Don Jazzy and Tiwa Savage after a highly successful run on Nigerian Idol 2023, all while juggling her studies at Lagos State University. Her vocal journey, which began at a young age, has quickly propelled her into the limelight as a refreshing anomaly in an industry often saturated with formulaic pop acts. Now collaborating with multiple Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Seal—who is known for hit singles like “Crazy” and “Kiss from a Rose”—Konstance firmly establishes her potential for greatness, merging her distinct voice with a global music icon for a track that captures stunning emotional intensity.

THE AFGHAN WHIGS Deliver Dramatic Covers “FAKE LIKE” and “DOWNTOWN”

0

The Afghan Whigs have made an anticipated return today, releasing two new tracks via Royal Cream/BMG that offer the classic Whigs treatment to unexpected source material. The two covers—”FAKE LIKE,” originally by the Minneapolis-based indie band Poliça, and “DOWNTOWN,” originally by the UK-based band Still Corners—showcase Greg Dulli’s strong vocal ability and dramatic leanings. Both tracks find the band in fine form, sounding fully anthemic and successfully pushing the boundaries of their signature sound.

This exciting new music marks the band’s first release since their critically acclaimed 2022 album, ‘How Do You Burn?’. Dulli shared that both songs were born out of soundcheck jams and that each track holds a particular resonance for him, feeling good to sing because he truly felt the lyrics. Both songs are available for streaming worldwide today, and a limited edition 45 single has been created, sold exclusively by Cincinnati’s own Shake It Records. With 2026 marking the 40th anniversary of The Afghan Whigs, many plans are already in the works for the band and will be announced in the new year.

This ground-breaking, Grammy Award-winning ensemble continues to fearlessly push the boundaries of modern bluegrass, following the success of their previous single, “Dead Man Walking,” which was named one of Billboard’s 5 Best New Country Songs. Lyrically, “Dancing On The Moon” is a euphoric declaration, tapping into a sense of emotional escape and celebrating a new connection, with vocalist and fiddle player Jeremy Garrett noting that the co-written track is simply “a light hearted song about falling in love.”

Formed in Nashville in the early 2000s, the group—composed of Chris Pandolfi, Travis Book, Jeremy Garrett, Andy Hall, and Andy Falco—happily exemplifies sonic exploration and endless curiosity while maintaining a deep respect for musical tradition. HEYBOBBY! Releases Song and Video for “Function of Friction” from Debut Rock Opera

0

The Bay Area theatrical rock collective HeyBobby! has released their brand new song and video, “Function of Friction,” giving audiences another enticing look into their wildly ambitious world. This latest track arrives ahead of the group’s debut concept album, ‘The Unclouding of Otilla Vanilla’, which is set to drop in March 2026. The full-length is a 12-track rock opera centered on Otilla Vanilla, a rising singer whose search for meaning and identity pulls her into the orbit of the magnetic yet dangerous music promoter Vivienne St. Clair, also known as “Big Shooter.” HeyBobby! introduces a fresh voice in rock ’n’ roll storytelling, expertly blending cinematic rock with layered songwriting and immersive visuals.

The entire project is written, performed, and produced entirely by humans, ensuring real instruments, real voices, and real emotion ground the experience, yet it embraces innovative tools such as artistic artificial intelligence to build out characters and visual avatars. Every single track will be accompanied by its own video episode, guaranteeing a full sensory experience where music, technology, and imagination collide to construct a fully imagined universe. When speaking about the new single, the artist shared that “The Big Shooter has a few sexual lessons for the very innocent and naive Otilla,” underscoring the narrative’s exploration of the line between empowerment and exploitation.

Today, he announces another run of North American dates which kick off April 4 in Vancouver, conclude May 17 in Baltimore and include performances at Big Ears Festival and Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

Tickets to the new dates go on sale Friday, December 12 and can be purchased HERE. Fans can sign up for the artist presale now HERE, with access beginning Tuesday, December 9 at 10:00am ET and running through Thursday, December 11 at 10:00pm local time. The full tour itinerary is included below.

The tour will also offer a variety of different VIP packages and experiences for fans to take their concert experience to the next level. VIP package contents vary based on the offer selected. For more information, visit vipnation.com.

Last month saw the release of the timely new single, “T Shirt.” Co-produced by Byrne’s longtime friend and collaborator Brian Eno, the song is a classic piece of electro-pop wrapped in lightly humorous, but always earnest, political commentary.  The track has become a notable moment and quick fan favorite on Byrne’s latest tour.

David Byrne and his band recently brought his live performance energy to the NPR offices for an epic Tiny Desk Concert, with Exclaim! saying, “Everything he does is pure magic.” Watch below. WATCH HERE.

Who Is the Sky?, released via Matador Records, is Byrne’s first album since releasing the acclaimed 2018 American Utopia, which was later adapted into a hit Broadway musical and HBO film. It was produced by the Grammy-winning Kid Harpoon (Harry Styles, Miley Cyrus), while its 12 songs were arranged by the members of New York-based chamber ensemble Ghost Train Orchestra. Guests include Paramore’s Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and The Smile drummer Tom Skinner.

The album was introduced by the infectious first single “Everybody Laughs,” directed by multimedia artist Gabriel Barcia-Colombo. The video set the tone for Who Is the Sky? with its universal themes of human connection and the potential for societal unity against the chaotic backdrop of the world. WATCH HERE.

“At my age, at least for me, there’s a ‘don’t give a shit about what people think’ attitude that kicks in,” Byrne says about the spirit behind Who Is the Sky? “I can step outside my comfort zone with the knowledge that I kind of know who I am by now and sort of know what I’m doing. That said, every new set of songs, every song even, is a new adventure. There’s always a bit of, ‘how do I work this?’ I’ve found that not every collaboration works, but often when they do, it’s because I’m able to clearly impart what it is I’m trying to do. They hopefully get that, and as a result, we’re now joined together heading to the same unknown place.”

Who Is the Sky? track list:

Everybody Laughs
When We Are Singing
My Apartment Is My Friend
A Door Called No
What Is the Reason for It?
I Met the Buddha at a Downtown Party
Don’t Be Like That
The Avant Garde
Moisturizing Thing
I’m an Outsider
She Explains Things to Me
The Truth

VARIALS Announces New Album ‘WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES’ With Crushing Title Track

0

Philadelphia’s Varials—Skyler Conder, Shane Lyons, Mike Foley, and Sean Rauchut—have just dropped massive news, announcing their powerful new album, ‘WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES’, set for arrival on February 27 via Fearless Records. This announcement follows the band’s metallic re-entry back in September with the track “I’ll Find the Dark,” the first new song since 2022 and the debut for their formidable new frontman, Conder. Today, the band ups the ante yet again by sharing the video for the album’s pulverizing title track, “Where The Light Leaves,” which is a hulking, earth-shaking slab of metal. This latest single delivers a fierce collision of riffs and roars, with Conder spitting violent verses over blast beats that feel like slabs of concrete tumbling from the sky, instantly proving that Varials is back to erecting an impenetrable wall of sound.

Conder explains that “‘Where The Light Leaves’ is the key introduction to the overall idea of the album itself,” noting it reflects feeling trapped within his own mind, accepting that mental purgatory, and learning to live with it. This fourth album arrives with explosive energy and focus, delivering hardcore ferocity, monstrous breakdowns, and a nu-metal groove with unapologetic purpose. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Schroeder, ‘WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES’ signifies a new, creatively ambitious chapter for the East Coast heavyweights, capturing the band at their most powerful across 13 tracks that pair guttural heaviness with new melodic textures. Following successful tours with bands like Knocked Loose and Wage War, this release further cements Varials’ reputation as one of the most intense and formidable acts in the modern heavy landscape.

WHERE THE LIGHT LEAVES TRACK LISTING:

  • “Where The Light Leaves”
  • “No Lie Untouched”
  • “Illusions of Loss”
  • “Conscious Collapse”
  • “Your Soul Feeds”
  • “The Hurt Chamber”

KALAMITY KILLS Revitalizes a Classic with Heavy New Single ‘HELP!’

0

ast Nashville’s hard rock powerhouse, KALAMITY KILLS, just dropped their incredible new single “HELP!” today via Pero Recordings, and it is a must-listen. This breakout band, led by vocalist Jamie Rowe and guitarist/producer Jamey Perrenot, has taken a fiercely beloved THE BEATLES classic and rebuilt it completely with their trademark intensity, modern heaviness, and emotional depth. Recorded live in the studio with choice overdubs adding significant impact, the track delivers a compelling reinterpretation that feels urgent and incredibly vulnerable, pushing the iconic song into a dark, fully electrified space. Soaring vocals, heavy guitars, driving rhythms, and tight harmonies create a sound that is both familiar to rock fans and completely refreshed by the band’s polished, aggressive attack.

The single’s release also includes a brand new performance video that truly captures the raw energy and conviction of the full band, which features bassist/vocalist Julia Lauren Bullock and drummer Rob Bodley. KALAMITY KILLS, forged in the heart of East Nashville, emerged from a solo project into a fully realized sonic assault, fusing the swagger of classic hard rock with the intensity of modern metal. Known for their debut self-titled album ‘Kalamity Kills’ and high-profile collaborations with members of KORN, 3 DOORS DOWN, and UNDEROATH, this band never chases trends. They are a growing force for the outsiders and the misfits, tackling themes of faith, failure, and redemption with songs ranging from explosive anthems to brutally honest ballads.

ALLDAY PROJECT’s Debut EP Arrives Ready to Take Over the World

0

The wait is officially over, and the explosive debut self-titled EP from THEBLACKLABEL’s phenomenal co-ed group, ALLDAY PROJECT, has landed. This release is a major defining moment for the quintet as they cap off a wildly successful debut year that started with their smash hit “FAMOUS” and continued with the bold single “ONE MORE TIME.” Fans worldwide can now experience the full vision of this boundary-pushing act across six powerful tracks. The group truly refuses to be defined, showcasing a vast range of styles, from the bright, unrestrained energy of the title track “LOOK AT ME” to the atmospheric, Afrobeat-laced emotion found in “YOU AND I.” This first full-length project is a clear assertion of their identity and their fearless mindset, giving us a taste of the new era they are ushering in.

The self-titled project immediately places the group’s name front and center, a confident move that reflects the creative freedom and multi-talented artistry within the collective. Unit and solo tracks like ANNIE and WOOCHAN’s playful hip-hop track “WHERE YOU AT,” TARZZAN and BAILEY’s early-2000s-inspired groove “HOT,” and TARZZAN’s fierce solo anthem “MEDUSA” spotlight the members’ individuality and expand the group’s already impressive sonic spectrum. ALLDAY PROJECT, the first co-ed group from the house that Teddy Park built, delivers sophisticated music, daring visuals, and powerful, self-written choreography, ensuring they transcend all labels and defy every expectation. Listeners are invited into a world where five distinct origins collide to form something completely new and unprecedented.
