0

The Grand Ole Opry and Grammy-nominated Jelly Roll are partnering to raise money to benefit the Nashville community through one of his charitable missions that is personal and meaningful to him – the Judge Dinkins Educational Center (JDEC). Jelly Roll is scheduled to perform two special Monday night Opry shows on Monday, September 22nd, with a few of his friends, and every ticket sold will help make a difference in the local community.

Judge Jim Todd, who co-founded JDEC, was the prosecutor in Jelly Roll’s case when he was younger. Since then, they’ve worked side by side to provide resources that enable youth to consider different paths.

“It’s a full-circle moment to be able to partner with Jelly Roll on this center, and the support of the Opry makes it all the more powerful,” states Judge Jim Todd.

The Judge Dinkins Educational Center provides juvenile vocational training in Davidson County for adolescents who might be at risk or engaged with the juvenile or criminal justice system. In addition to being a vocational center, JDEC offers education, housing and holistic support services to help students build sustainable futures. The shows will also benefit the Buddy DeFord Charitable Fund, which was started to honor his late father, Buddy, and to support nonprofits addressing some of the most pressing issues facing the community.

Beginning today (Tues, Aug 12th), a portion of proceeds from every ticket sold for the September 22nd shows and from all Jelly Roll Opry performances through September 2026 will be donated to the Judge Dinkins Educational Center and The Buddy DeFord Charitable Fund.

Jelly Roll, as well as Bailey Zimmerman and Graham Barham, are scheduled to perform.

Militarie Gun Announce ‘God Save The Gun’ with Explosive New Video “B A D I D E A”

0

Militarie Gun have shared a music video for their new track “B A D I D E A”, which is the lead track from their forthcoming album “God Save The Gun” that will hit stores on October 17th.

The new video was directed by Shelton, who had this to say, “I wanted to make a video that was a celebration of vices, a new iteration of yourself looking back at a moment you made a mistake while never truly reflecting. This was the most technically challenging video we’ve ever done and it only fits a song spelling out the words ‘bad idea.'”

God Save The Gun is a very human document of being at your worst when you should be on top of the world – an absurdist guide to the intersection of self-destruction and self-belief. “I’m well aware that being this vulnerable turns my personal trauma into a marketing hook for this album,” Shelton says. “But I’m fine with it, if not provoking it. Over the past couple years, as I spoke about addiction from the perspective of someone affected by it, I became the one struggling with it. There’s a farcical logic to entering a situation, fully knowing the consequences, and doing it anyway – but that’s where my head was when I started leaning on drinking.” Militarie Gun’s 2023 debut album, Life Under The Gun was centered around lifelong cycles of hurt, with the singer looking back at growing up with family members struggling with addiction, and while God Save The Gun is still tethered to that history, this time, he’s not the witness-he’s the protagonist. It wasn’t until the band was scheduled to enter the studio in early 2025 that Shelton realized he was the one who needed to hear God Save The Gun’s message.

Despite all of the inner turmoil leading to God Save The Gun, Shelton and his bandmates – guitarists William Acu-a and Kevin Kiley, bassist Waylon Trim, and drummer David Stalsworth – more than rose to the challenge of following up Militarie Gun’s acclaimed debut. Stalsworth, Trim, and Kiley all joined during Life Under The Gun’s extensive touring cycle after a series of member shakeups that would hobble most bands, but only made Militarie Gun stronger.

Along with the honed in line up, God Save The Gun was created with a village of new and old collaborators. Shelton continued his creative relationship with songsmith Phillip Odom, co-wrote with longtime conspirator and frequent harmonizer James Goodson of Dazy, and newly tapped Nick Panella of MSPAINT, among others. Militarie Gun also worked with producer / engineer Riley MacIntyre (Adele, Arlo Parks, The Kills), who was chosen not only to make the songs sound huge, but also to access the sentiments behind them.

Eagles’ Bernie Leadon Shares Emotional Video for First Solo Single in 21 Years, “Too Many Memories”

0

Following the release of his first solo single in more than 21 years, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and founding member of the Eagles Bernie Leadon drops an emotional, nostalgic video for “Too Many Memories.”

The music video is a moving, visual time capsule, depicting Leadon’s life through a series of milestones and defining moments, including early band days and intimate snapshots with the Eagles, and honoring those who shaped him. “Too Many Memories” is a reflection of a life lived fully without regret and a tribute to those who stood beside Leadon over the years.

“I dug out a bunch of old photos of my life and career for this video, which was actually a lot of fun to go through. I’m sure everyone has their own batch of photos they feel strongly connected to. And a song or two to go with them,” Leadon said. “Looking back at photos, and different moments throughout our lives, so many memories, stories and feelings come back to us, sometimes connected to a song or a similar experience. It’s not that we literally have ‘Too Many’ memories, it’s that some of them may not be resolved, that we’ve left something undone or unsaid. The song’s conclusion is that we really should leave most of the troubling things behind, let them dissolve like the mist rising off a meadow in the early morning or dwindling light of evening.”

Bernie Leadon will make his first public performance since the 2015 “History of the Eagles” tour at AMERICANAFEST, September 9 – 13.

Alter Bridge Launch First-Ever Blackbird Festival at Cardiff Castle with Skindred, Florence Black, and More

0

A brand-new rock festival is landing in the heart of Wales – and it’s set to make some serious noise. On Saturday June 27th, 2026, the grounds of Cardiff Castle will be shaken to their foundations as Alter Bridge’s inaugural Blackbird Festival bursts onto the scene with a monumental lineup the global rock heavyweights will headline.

Tickets go on general sale from 9:30am Friday, August 22nd via blackbirdfest.com and Ticketmaster with a range of presales kicking off from 9:30am on Tuesday, August 19th via depotlive.co.uk/blackbirdfestival2026.

Launching their own festival marks a key moment for Alter Bridge – not just as a celebration of their legacy, but as a bold step into curating their own live experience, bringing together a handpicked lineup of artists and connecting with fans in a whole new way.

With more than two decades under their belts, Alter Bridge continue to carve their name deeper into rock history. Known for their thunderous live shows, searing dual guitars, and unforgettable melodies, the Florida-formed four piece – Myles Kennedy (vocals/guitar), Mark Tremonti (guitar/vocals), Brian Marshall (bass) and Scott Phillips (drums) – have played to millions worldwide and earned a reputation as one of the most consistent and respected names in modern rock.

Now, after more than seven years away from Welsh stages, they’re coming back with something big.

“We realized we haven’t played Wales in over 7 years,” says Myles Kennedy. “To make up for lost time, we thought it would be cool to do something extra special. So with that said, we are stoked to announce The Blackbird Festival. Not only does this commemorate twenty-plus years of being a band, but it’s also a way to show our appreciation for the fans in Wales who’ve patiently waited for our return.”

Joining ALTER BRIDGE as very special guests are none other than Skindred, the unstoppable Welsh heroes whose unique blend of metal, reggae, punk and riotous energy has made them a live favourite across the globe. Expect nothing short of total carnage when Benji Webbe and co. hit the stage on home turf. And don’t forget a t-shirt to join in with the Newport Helicopter.

Also set to perform are rising Welsh powerhouse trio Florence Black, known for their heavy-hitting anthems and gritty, melodic swagger, and the soul-infused, arena-ready sounds of Cardinal Black, whose star continues to rise at rocket speed. One more band is still to be announced, so keep your eyes locked on the lineup for a final surprise.

Fans eager to be part of the first-ever Blackbird Festival can get tickets and all the latest updates via blackbirdfest.com and official social media pages.
