For 70 years, Sports Illustrated has shaped how fans experience sports culture. Now, ahead of the biggest weekend on the calendar, Sports Illustrated teams up with Tight End University to launch Tight Ends & Friends, a high-energy celebration kicking off Big Game Weekend in San Francisco.
Taking place Thursday, February 5 at Public Works, the event brings TEU’s community-first culture into an immersive nightlife setting. Designed as a collegiate-style party with elevated production, the night blends interactive games, turf-inspired builds, and a soundtrack built for momentum and connection.
Early excitement surrounds the limited Early Bird ticket release priced at $85, a nod to San Francisco 49ers tight end and TEU founder George Kittle. Additional ticketing details and talent announcements will follow, adding to the anticipation surrounding one of the weekend’s most talked-about gatherings.
The music anchors the experience, culminating in a headline performance by Loud Luxury with Frank Walker opening the night. The response around the event highlights its energy and intent, delivering lift, community, and cultural relevance in equal measure.
Produced by Rubicon Talent and Authentic Live, the night features all-inclusive access, food giveaways, surprise appearances, and sponsor activations from Cash App, Novartis, Zenni Optical, Kinder’s, Smirnoff, Maestro Dobel Tequila, Dockers, Champion, and Verizon. Tight Ends & Friends sets the tone for the weekend with authenticity, access, and shared celebration.
Don’t Believe In Ghosts have released the new music video for “Paper Tiger,” the latest single from their album ‘But On The Bright Side,’ out now via Mindful Recordings. The album has already appeared on multiple Best of 2025 lists, carrying the band’s momentum straight into the new year with confidence and clarity.
The “Paper Tiger” video leans into the song’s emotional push and pull, capturing the feeling of chasing something just out of reach while trying to stay grounded. Scenes reflect doubt, desire, and quiet determination, echoing lyrics shaped by heavy thoughts, fragile confidence, and the resolve to keep moving forward.
“Paper Tiger” earns an enthusiastic response for its balance of tension and lift. The song pairs introspective verses with a sky-high chorus, delivering a massive hook that sticks while letting vulnerability breathe. It feels immediate, purposeful, and emotionally resonant without overstatement.
The track was co-written by and features backing vocals from Brendan Benson of The Raconteurs, Nick Brown of Mona, and Don Miggs of Whole Damn Mess. It was mixed by Mark Needham, known for work with The Killers, Imagine Dragons, Fleetwood Mac, Neon Trees, and Chris Isaak, giving the track its polished but punchy sound.
“But On The Bright Side” was recorded across New York City, Nashville, and the Midwest, with a focus on live performances, analog gear, and classic studio workflows. With the “Paper Tiger” video, Don’t Believe In Ghosts continue shaping indie rock that feels lived-in, hopeful, and built to connect.
Rising alternative pop artist Maeve Alexander shares her new single “Nailbiter,” a sharply observed song about the quiet devastation that follows a friendship breakup. Built on confessional songwriting and emotionally charged melodies, the track lands with clarity and purpose, marking an important creative moment in her evolving catalog.
Written in summer 2025 after the sudden end of a seven-year friendship, “Nailbiter” arrived quickly and honestly. “The song wrote itself before I fully understood what I needed to say,” Maeve says. “Friendship breakups carry a quiet, often unspoken grief, even when the devastation feels all-consuming.” That urgency gives the song its emotional weight.
The response to “Nailbiter” highlights its directness and emotional precision. The song captures ache without overstating it, pairing vulnerability with momentum in a way that feels immediate and lived-in. It reflects growth, healing, and the clarity that arrives when emotions are allowed space to move.
Maeve Alexander’s sound sits between alternative pop and indie rock, often compared to Rachel Chinouriri, Lola Young, Syd Taylor, and Hayley Williams’ solo work. Her music blends raw lyricism with melodies full of motion, shaped by a background that includes classical training, punk pop bands, and underground scenes.
She recently brought that energy to the stage while showcasing her indie pop EP ‘A Ghost Story’ at The Broadway as part of a Breaking Sound curated lineup. With “Nailbiter,” Maeve continues a creative chapter rooted in self-reflection, human connection, and the courage to turn emotional fallout into forward motion.
After nearly a decade without new recorded music, The Casualties roar back into focus with “People Over Power,” a blunt-force statement that reasserts exactly where they stand. Released via Hellcat Records, the track wastes no time delivering its message, driven by breakneck momentum and unfiltered conviction. It lands as a rallying cry rooted in lived frustration, channeling anger toward collective action rather than resignation.
Frontman David Rodriguez describes the song as a response to relentless pressure from systems that feel stacked against everyday people, boiling the message down to its most direct form: people come first. Drummer Marc “Meggers” Eggers calls it a pure protest song, built to provoke reaction and movement. The band’s approach remains grounded in the street punk tradition shaped by The Exploited and the Sex Pistols, pairing rapid-fire riffs with unapologetically political intent.
That urgency carries straight into their 2026 live return, with The Casualties heading to the UK and Europe for a run of festival and headline appearances beginning in March. The shows extend the song’s message beyond the studio, reinforcing the band’s long-held role as a voice for the disillusioned and defiant.

There might be no other band that was able to channel the generational anxiety in those early millennial years and turn it into such powerful and inclusive art quite like Band of Horses. Band of Horses fashioned gorgeously ragged epics, Ben Bridwell’s high-flying vocals and eccentric enunciation floating like a specter that felt like a prelude to a dream. Full of profundity, truth, and sometimes just homespun advice on how to live, Band of Horses songs have become anthems and touchstones for fans — meditations on change, longing, and what a person will do to make things right. And what you do when you can’t.
The band’s debut Everything All the Time (2006) introduced their sweeping, emotionally resonant sound, embodied by the double Platinum anthem “The Funeral,” now regarded as one of the most enduring songs of the modern indie rock era. The albums that followed, including 2007’s Cease To Begin, cemented their place in the indie rock canon. They’ve released six studio albums, including Infinite Arms (2010), which earned a Grammy nomination. Most recently, the critically acclaimed Things Are Great (2022) finds the band recapturing the raw emotion and unpolished punk-rock spirit of its earlier days.

Acclaimed meditation guide and mantra artist Rina Rain releases her new track and video “Om Mani Padme Hum,” a serene and immersive meditation rooted in ancient Sanskrit wisdom. Built on slow, steady repetition that gradually rises into a flowing rhythm, the mantra reflects compassion, love, and inner freedom. Rina describes the recording as an experience of dissolving into stillness, where sound and thought fade into silence, allowing presence and insight to unfold naturally.
“Om Mani Padme Hum” is the second offering from Rina Rain’s forthcoming album ‘Whispers of Rain’, a contemplative project designed for deep listening and reflection. Blending soulful vocals with spacious modern soundscapes, Rina’s work exists as an invitation rather than a performance, encouraging listeners to slow down, breathe, and return inward. With over two decades of experience guiding mindfulness and healing practices, her music continues to serve as a gentle threshold into quiet transformation and peace.

Northern Irish singer-songwriter Seán Feeny releases his new single “Galactic Tides,” out now, alongside the announcement of his debut album of the same name, arriving February 6. The track expands Feeny’s signature blend of history, heritage, and emotional storytelling, using cosmic imagery as a metaphor for emigration, identity, and belonging. Atmospheric and ambitious in scope, the song marks a clear step forward following praised earlier releases “1969” and “Western Roads.”
Written in collaboration with Ruairí Friel of Silver Winged They Fly and produced by Orri McBrearty, “Galactic Tides” features backing vocals from Sarah Cullen of The Reflection Box, adding a haunting, celestial texture. Feeny describes the song as “at its heart, an emigration story,” capturing the feeling of being placed somewhere unknown and slowly finding direction. The accompanying video, directed by Charlie Joe Doherty and filmed in West Donegal, visually mirrors the song’s themes of vastness, isolation, and connection.
Pianist and composer Michael Stephen Brown releases his debut album of original works titled ‘Twelve Blocks’ on February 13, 2026. This First Hand Records release features a series of musical portraits inspired by the personal stories of his mentors and collaborators. The album includes the title track “Twelve Blocks” as a single which arrived earlier today. Listeners will find twenty-three tracks that range from technical piano miniatures to expansive song cycles. This collection is a vivid tapestry of tributes and character portraits that highlights a distinct compositional voice.
The record features an elite group of performers including soprano Susanna Phillips and the SPA Trio. Brown also collaborates with his mentors Jerome Lowenthal and Ursula Oppens for the four hand piano work that gives the album its name. The music captures specific moments in time such as a daily walk through New York or the tragedy associated with the lakes at Yaddo. Every track on this album feels like an essential piece of a larger emotional puzzle.
One significant highlight is the song cycle ‘Love’s Lives Lost’ which sets poetry by Evan Shinners. The work explores the reunion of former lovers with a blend of humor and elegance. Another personal inclusion is the “Breakup Etude for the Right Hand Alone” composed during a period of physical injury and isolation. These works demonstrate how Brown transforms lived experience into virtuosic performance art. The album concludes with “Pour Angeline” a quiet love letter dedicated to his fiancée.
Brown earned dual degrees from the Juilliard School and has received an Avery Fisher Career Grant for his work. His compositions have been commissioned by organizations like the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Beyond his writing he remains an active soloist performing with major symphonies across the country. This new album serves as a definitive look at his creative evolution as both a performer and a creator.
