Madonna’s Long-Lost Remix Album ‘Veronica Electronica’ Finally Released, Vinyl Sells Out in One Hour

0

Madonna’s long-rumored project, Veronica Electronica, featuring new edits and rare remixes plus a previously unreleased song “Gone Gone Gone” from her universally acclaimed album Ray of Light, is out now. The first pressing of vinyl sold out in an hour during the pre-order. Due to the overwhelming demand, another pressing of the limited clear vinyl is due out on October 10th, and for the first time, a CD version. Vinyl and CD orders can be placed from Madonna.com and Rhino.com

Veronica Electronica, an eight-track companion to Ray of Light, was originally envisioned by Madonna as a “remix, odyssey” album in 1998 and named after the alter ego Madonna used as inspiration during the recording process of Ray of Light. The project was ultimately sidelined by the original album’s enormous success and cavalcade of hit singles that dominated for more than a year. Ray of Light, considered a pivotal album in Madonna’s peerless career, went on to sell over 16 million copies worldwide and earned Madonna four GRAMMY Awards, including Best Pop Album.

More than 25 years later, that long-awaited concept finally comes to life. The collection features newly edited versions of club remixes by Peter Rauhofer, William Orbit, Sasha, BT, and Victor Calderone, along with the original demo of “Gone, Gone, Gone”— a previously unreleased recording produced by Madonna and Rick Nowels.

Signal and Vans Team Up for a Skateable Cardboard Slip-On in Bold New ‘Cardboard Chaos’ Collaboration

0

Signal, a brand born in snowboarding and raised on experimentation, is now evolving into a culture rooted in adventure, art and nature, and the relentless pursuit of ideas and designs that spark wonder. After creating the cardboard surfboard, cardboard skateboard, multiple instruments including a cardboard Fender Stratocaster, the idea came to collaborate for the next project in the Cardboard Chaos line…a fully skateable Vans Classic Slip-On sneaker.

The soul of this project is collaboration. Once given the green light from Vans’ Steve Van Doren, the packaging pioneers at Ernest Packaging brought structure, style, and skate-worthy durability to a shoe made of cardboard. The Signal team then travelled to the Vans manufacturing headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam, to build them. A limited number of XX pairs were carefully hand-crafted by the Signal and Vans teams. Once completed, the shoes were brought to California, where skateboarding royalty, including Christian Hosoi, Omar Hassan, Tony Alva, and Lizzie Armanto, sized up, slipped ‘em on, dropped in, blew minds, and shattered expectations.
