Samantha Fish Announces 10-Date West Coast Tour With Robert Jon & The Wreck This November

0

This November, Samantha Fish will take her chart-topping music to the West Coast for a 10-day Fall tour. Featuring sets from Fish and opener Robert Jon & The Wreck, the double record-release tour – will feature material from both bands’ newly-released albums – kicks off in San Diego on November 13th, visiting venues in California, Washington, and Oregon before wrapping up on November 24th.

A moving target, Fish plays over 250 shows a year, and remains at the top of her game, regularly touring her way across the U.S., U.K., Europe, Australia, and Japan. She made her television debut on The Kelly Clarkson Show this spring, promoting 2025’s Paper Doll – her ninth record, released on the heels of her Grammy-nominated collaboration with Jesse Dayton, Death Wish Blues. Guitarist Magazine calls her “a ferocious, riff-laden powerhouse,” with Living Blues enthusing that “Fish rules at the top of the blues rock heap; she’s simply one of the best.” Many of her guitar-playing heroes have been wildly supportive, too, with Fish being handpicked by Eric Clapton to appear on his Crossroads Tour, participating in Slash’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Tour, and sharing the stage with everyone from The Rolling Stones to Buddy Guy.

Fish has built her sound by blending different musical traditions together, from the drone of Mississippi Hill Country blues to the roar of anthemic, amplified rock. A similar spirit fuels Robert Jon & The Wreck, the upcoming tour’s opening act, whose sound splits the difference between southern rock and Californian soul. “We draw from similar wells,” says Fish, who has graced the covers of Guitar World, Premier Guitar, Vintage Guitar, Guitar Thrills, and Blues Matters.. “I fell in love with music from going to shows, and I know how cathartic it can be. It heals your heart. Anytime I play live, I just want to make people forget about else in the world and feel that same joy that I feel onstage – and with Robert Jon & The Wreck, I’ve found new friends who share that same feeling.”

Fresh off a European summer tour and a string of U.S. festival appearances, Robert Jon & The Wreck are set to release their new studio album Heartbreaks & Last Goodbyes on August 22nd via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records. Produced by Grammy-winner Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell), the record showcases the band’s evolution with a blend of soulful rock, raw storytelling, and southern swagger. Recent singles like “Dark Angel” and “Keep Myself Clean” have offered a glimpse into the album’s emotional depth and musical firepower, with more to come as the band hits the road this Fall.

The California band have taken the Southern rock sound and brought it around the world. Since their inception in 2011, bandmates Robert Jon Burrison (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Espantman (drums), Henry James (lead guitar), and Warren Murrel (bass) have electrified audiences all over the globe with their soaring guitar leads, boogieing grooves, rich vocal harmonies, and memorable songs. With 2021’s critically acclaimed studio album Shine A Light On Me Brother, the band received airplay on the UK’s Planet Rock, BBC Radio 2, Radio Caroline and more.

Along with headlining performances across the U.S. and Europe, the band has supported the likes of Joe Bonamassa, Buddy Guy, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Lukas Nelson, and Sturgill Simpson,

About the upcoming tour with Samantha Fish, Robert Jon states, “We’ve been big fans of Samantha for a long time, so it’s exciting to be out on the road with her. It’s gonna be a hell of a time – great music, great energy, and a chance to play for some new folks. We can’t wait.”

Jenna DeVries Drops Defiant Queer Country-Rock Anthem “You Look Confused”

0

Jenna DeVries releases country-rock anthem, “You Look Confused.” The single is out now and you can listen to it on all digital streaming platforms.

Jenna DeVries has something to say – and she’s not afraid to say it. Storming in with a vengeance, DeVries storms in with “You Look Confused,” an anthem for anyone who’s ever been judged simply for living authentically. She explains, “If you’ve ever had anyone look at you with disgust or confusion for being unapologetically yourself, this song is for you. People are so scared of what they can’t understand. This song is a queer anthem that tells hateful people to get over themselves. Nothing I am doing is for you, and I have absolutely nothing to prove to you. I get to live my life 100% myself, while you just look confused.”

From the moment the track kicks off, a boot-stomping beat ignites a surge of confidence and fire that only DeVries can deliver. There’s swagger in every note. She sings, “I’m bigger than the box you put me in, I’m deeper than the ditch you’re digging, I can burn hotter than the midnight sun,” with calculated cool and total self-assurance. Her voice carries not just the melody, but also truth, resistance, and pride.

Throughout the track, DeVries confronts outdated ideologies head-on. Her lyrics are sharp, fearless, and demand to be heard. This is more than a song – it’s a declaration. She speaks directly to generational divides, making it clear that things have changed: “We are, we are, we are that generation, this is, this is, your only invitation.” The message? Get on board – or get out of the way. The LGBTQ+ community isn’t asking for permission anymore. They’re living out loud and taking up space.

Jesse Harris Unveils Orchestral Single “Dolores” Ahead of New Album with Maycon Ananias

0

Jesse Harris has released his new single “Dolores” thate features him with a full orchestra, accompanying himself on guitar. Inspired by classic albums such as Frank Sinatra’s Where Are You and Harry Nilsson’s A Little Touch of Schmilsson in the Night, Harris continues the tradition with a modern twist, assisted by Brazilian arranger and conductor, Maycon Ananias.

Harris is best known as the Grammy Award winning songwriter of “Don’t Know Why,” which has been recorded by Norah Jones, Smokey Robinson, Pat Metheny and many others. “Dolores” is the first single from his forthcoming album with Ananias, If You Believed In Me, out this fall.

Jesse says of the new single: “One evening at home in the fall of 2024, I wrote and recorded a song about a black cat with yellow eyes named Dolores. It was meant to be nothing more than a gift to its owner, but about a week later my old friend Maycon Ananias, a composer and arranger from Brazil, sent me a text saying he had something to propose: record his symphonic arrangements with an orchestra in Estonia, where he was writing a commission for the 95th birthday celebration of Arvo Pärt. The session was already scheduled and would also include other pieces of Maycon’s. Never had I recorded any of my music with an orchestra, and, serendipitously, this new song, with its spaciousness and fluid chord harmony, seemed ideal.”

Kenny Chesney, Wynonna Judd, and Steve Earle Join Star-Studded Farm Aid 40 Lineup in Minneapolis

0

Organizers of Farm Aid have announced that Kenny Chesney, Wynonna Judd, and Steve Earle will join the Farm Aid 40 lineup at Huntington Rock Stadium in Minneapolis on September 20th.

“We’re excited to have Kenny Chesney back on the Farm Aid stage this year,” states Jennifer Fahy, co-executive director of Farm Aid. “He’s one of many artists who have returned to Farm Aid, generously donating their travel and performances to raise awareness about the family farmers who grow good food for all of us. Kenny’s appearance, along with the addition of music legends Wynonna Judd and Steve Earle, will make this an unforgettable anniversary event.”

Chesney, an eight-time Academy of Country Music and Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year award winner, is one of America’s biggest concert draws. Farm Aid will mark his only 2025 concert performance outside his recently wrapped Sphere residency. It also marks his fourth Farm Aid appearance. Judd is one of the most decorated female artists in country music history, with 19 No. 1 singles and an induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Earle, who became a member of the Grand Ole Opry this year, is no stranger to the Farm Aid stage. This year will be his ninth appearance since joining the inaugural event in 1985.

Together, they join the star-studded Farm Aid 40 lineup, which features Farm Aid board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young (and the Chrome Hearts), John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, and Margo Price, as well as Billy Strings, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Trampled by Turtles, Waxahatchee, Eric Burton of Black Pumas, Jesse Welles, Madeline Edwards, and Wisdom Indian Dancers.

Tickets for Farm Aid’s 40th anniversary music and food festival range from $101 to $390 (fees included, not sales tax).

Farm Aid’s mission is to build a vibrant, family farm-centered system of agriculture in America. Farm Aid artists and board members Willie Nelson, Neil Young, John Mellencamp, Dave Matthews and Margo Price host an annual festival to raise funds to support Farm Aid’s work with family farmers and to inspire people to choose family farm food. Since 1985, Farm Aid, with the support of the artists who contribute their performances each year, has raised more than $85 million to support programs that help farmers thrive, expand the reach of the Good Food Movement, take action to change the dominant system of industrial agriculture, and promote food from family farms.
