Remington Cartee Hooks a Winner with Playful New Country Single “Bill Dance”

0

ountry artist Remington Cartee is back with his first release of the year. The new single “Bill Dance” is a feel-good, radio-ready country song that sounds like a night out in Nashville—full of energy, with a big singalong chorus.

Born and raised in the Carolinas, Cartee’s southern roots are on display throughout his catalog, and “Bill Dance” is no exception. He’s been making music since he was a kid and has built a growing fanbase with authentic lyrical content and a classic country vibe. Now he’s back with a fresh batch of songs—and “Bill Dance” is the perfect way to kick things off.

The song was written after a bad day of fishing. Cartee jokes about not being able to “Bill Dance”—a nod to the famous fisherman. No matter what bait he throws, nothing’s biting—something people who love to fish can all relate to from time to time, and also can be a metaphor for life in general.

With clever lyrics, great vocals, and a playful vibe, “Bill Dance” shows off Cartee’s charm and sense of humor. It’s the kind of song that’ll make you smile, even if you’ve just lost another crankbait, or the big one got away again.

Origami Ghosts Unveil Soulful New Single “Washboard Mind” Ahead of Album ‘A Fine Time to Talk About Nothing’

0

Without all of the hard times, where would we get songs as joyous as Origami Ghosts’ “Washboard Mind?” Tough times may not be any fun to go through, but boy, do they ever fire up the kiln of creativity. The indie rock band is back with their latest single, a classic folk meets modern indie kind of sound. The song was inspired by a time that was very personal to frontman JP Scesniak. He was living in Paris, which sounds very romantic and all. But actually, Scesniak was living as a poor troubadour, with very little money, and even less direction.

These circumstances can’t help but negatively influence your state of mind and your relationship with others. But even in the midst of such hardship, Scesniak felt determined to continue to give his all to his partner. He made due what what we had, while remaining supremely focused on his significant other.

The release of “Washboard Mind” comes ahead of Origami Ghosts’ brand new album A Fine Time to Talk About Nothing. Coming out next week on August 8th, the album is a glorious helping of jangly folk-pop. It has a very international flavour, as evidenced by where it was written. The record was composed in small doses while touring through Europe and the United States. Parts of it were also written while Scesniak was in Paris, as well as the time he spent in Seattle and Austin. Precipitated by its international flair, the album embraces a sense of adventure and exploration. Primarily composed in a very curious state of mind, the songs delve into themes such as love, death, intimacy, drugs, counterculture, and new technology.

The album has a very personal touch as well. With all of these other things happening in Scesniak’s life, what’s more is that he had a full-fledged near-death experience when he suffered a stroke. He tries to make sense of this experience on the album track “Heaven’s Gate.” Having to go through this really scared him straight and convinced him to get off alcohol and any cannabis use.

As is becoming clear, A Fine Time to Talk About Nothing is about as private as an album can be. As a songwriter and bandleader, there’s no sugarcoating it when it comes to JP Scesniak.

Gnarly Head wines and the Grateful Dead raise a glass to 60 years of legendary American music with two new anniversary edition wines, marking the fourth year of their fan-favorite collaboration. The limited-release Old Vine Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon will hit shelves nationwide next month in commemorative bottles featuring the Grateful Dead’s official 60th anniversary logo brought to life with show-stopping holographic foil.

The limited-release wines feature label designs that capture the Grateful Dead’s rich visual history and showcase the band’s special anniversary artwork of a memorable 60-year journey. The designs pair timeless Grateful Dead imagery with a contemporary twist, accented by holographic details and Gnarly Head’s rugged vine iconography for a bold tribute to music and wine.

“The incredible response to our past collaborations with the Grateful Dead has shown how this partnership resonates with fans,” notes Brett Johnson, Portfolio Director for Delicato Family Wines, the family-owned California winery that crafts Gnarly Head wines. “We’re excited to introduce a new version of our limited-release wines that honors the Grateful Dead’s 60-year legacy of genre-defying music and the lasting cultural impact that has made the band a true American icon.”

“For 60 years, the Grateful Dead has brought people together through music, community, and shared experiences—and that spirit lives on in this special collaboration with Gnarly Head wines,” shares David Lemieux, Grateful Dead archivist and legacy manager. “These Anniversary-Edition wines capture the energy, creativity, and individuality that have defined the Dead for six decades, and fans now have a new way to celebrate the music and memories made along the way.”

Fans can be among the first to sip the new limited edition wines at the Dead & Company’s three headlining shows in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on August 1–3, where Gnarly Head will pour its Gnarly Head x Grateful Dead Old Vine Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon for guests 21 and over.

The 2024 Gnarly Head x Grateful Dead Cabernet Sauvignon, grown in select California vineyards, offers juicy layers of plum, blackberry, and toasted mocha with a smooth, velvety finish. The winemaking behind both is a tribute to Gnarly Head’s expressive, fruit-forward style, made to pair perfectly with the music that inspired them.

We Came As Romans Share Haunting New Single “Where Did You Go?” Ahead of New Album

0

We Came As Romans have released their haunting new single, “where did you go?,” along with its accompanying official music video. The track, one of the final songs written for their forthcoming album’ ALL IS BEAUTIFUL…BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED’ (due out August 22nd via Sharptone Records), marks a stark sonic departure for the band, embracing a darker, moodier atmosphere while exploring themes of identity, disconnection, and the ghosts of who we once were.

Speaking on the new track, We Came As Romans fontman Dave Stephens. “Where did you go was one of the final songs we wrote for the album, and it came together in a way that just felt special. From the first few notes, we knew it had a completely different energy- way moodier than anything we’d done so far on the record.

“Where Did You Go? is about the haunting feeling of being left without answers. It’s about losing a part of yourself. When we wrote it, we were reflecting on a version of ourselves we felt disconnected from-the parts of ourselves we used to believe in, the ones with better habits, more clarity, more hope.

“The production instantly brought me back to nights of driving around at night when I was younger and gave me this overwhelming feeling of nostalgia for a time when life felt a lot simpler. The nostalgia is real, but so is the growth that comes with asking yourself those hard questions,”
