Motion City Soundtrack Roars Back with “You Know Who The F* We Are” Ahead of New Album This Fall*

0

Motion City Soundtrack share “You Know Who The F*** We Are,” the latest preview of their new album ‘The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World’ out on September 19 via Epitaph Records.

With its infectious palm-muted power, “You Know Who The F*** We Are” embodies the carefree exuberance that permeates throughout the new record. The single injects a dose of unrestrained energy, fueled by MCS’s resurgence after a decade-long hiatus.

“Don’t Call It a Comeback” isn’t just the name of a song off Motion City Soundtrack’s 2003 debut I Am The Movie, it’s also an apt way to summarize the band’s mission statement. During their initial run from 1997 to 2016, the Minneapolis-based group released six celebrated albums, toured the world countless times and achieved gold status for their hit single “Everything Is Alright.”

After taking a three-year hiatus, the band – vocalist/guitarist Justin Pierre, guitarist Joshua Cain, bassist Matt Taylor, keyboardist Jesse Johnson and drummer Tony Thaxton – started performing live again in 2019, but even the most optimistic fans didn’t necessarily expect a follow-up to 2015’s Panic Stations. “When we started conceptualizing the idea for this record, I was thinking about what we loved about doing this originally,” Cain explains. The result is The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World, an album that sees the band transmuting the last decade of life experiences into the catchiest songs of their career.

To record the album, the band reunited with Sean O’Keefe (Fall Out Boy, Plain White T’s) at the legendary Chicago studio Electrical Audio. With features from Fall Out Boy’s Patrick Stump (who also co-wrote the song “Particle Physics”), Citizen’s Mat Kerekes and Deanna Belos of Sincere Engineer, the album sees the band reclaiming their crown as one of punk rock’s most accessible – and infectious – acts. However, the most impressive aspect of The Same Old Wasted Wonderful World is the fact that instead of relying solely on nostalgia, Motion City Soundtrack continues to experiment outside their comfort zone. “It’s a very interesting thing to feel like we made the most important record of our career this late in the game,” Johnson explains.

“I think that if you look at a lot of our past records, it’s about ‘What’s wrong? What am I not getting right? Why do I feel f***ing crazy? Why can’t I figure this out, and I figured it out,” Pierre admits. “It’s almost like I felt I didn’t have an identity [in the past] and now by working through the hard stuff, I know who I am.” With that sense of self-discovery mirrored by the music, when the final track fades out it may be the conclusion of the album, but in reality, it’s just the beginning of another chapter of Motion City Soundtrack’s journey.

The Value of Verified Payment Systems in Online Casinos

0

By Mitch Rice

The growing popularity of online gambling means that more and more people are choosing to play at online casinos. Unfortunately, this also comes with the risk of losing money or having personal data stolen. That’s why financial transaction security is crucial.

In this article, we’ll take a closer look at the advantages of verified payment systems. You’ll learn how they protect your finances while playing at an online casino and why it’s worth choosing them. We’ll also compare the functionalities of individual systems. Let’s dive in!

Financial Security is Key in Online Gambling

When playing online gambling games on NV Cazino or other internet platforms, the security of finances is of key importance. That’s why it’s worth choosing online casinos that use reliable and verified payment systems.

Systems like Trustly, PayPal, or Paysafecard provide convenient and secure transactions. Thanks to them, we can make quick deposits and withdrawals without worrying about losing money.

How Do Verified Payment Systems Work?

Verified systems such as Trustly or PayPal undergo rigorous security procedures and regular audits. They are supervised by regulatory bodies, ensuring that customers can be confident their money is safe.

Here are the key features of secure payment systems:

  • Data encryption – payment information and personal data are protected using cryptographic keys;
  • Transaction authentication – the system verifies the user’s identity before processing a payment;
  • Activity monitoring – detection of suspicious or unauthorized transactions;
  • Refund guarantee – in the case of undelivered goods or services, the customer receives a refund.

Why Is It Worth Choosing a Verified Payment System?

When deciding to play at an online casino, the security of our finances should be a priority. Here are the most important advantages of verified payment systems:

Protection from Fraud

Verified payment systems protect our personal data and payment information from hacking and theft. Encryption and transaction authentication minimize the risk of unauthorized account access.

Convenience and Speed

Verified systems offer convenient online payment methods, such as credit cards, digital wallets, or bank transfers. Transactions are carried out instantly, allowing us to start playing quickly.

Objective Casino Assessment

By choosing an online casino with a verified payment system, we can be sure it adheres to strict security procedures. This is an objective indicator of the casino’s reliability.

Customer Support

Reputable payment systems also provide customer support in case of any transaction issues. So we have additional help in resolving potential disputes.

How to Choose the Best Payment System for Yourself?

When selecting a preferred payment system for online casinos, it’s worth considering a few key factors. This will help match the optimal method to our needs and expectations.

Deposit and Withdrawal Methods. Some systems offer more deposit and withdrawal options than others. For example, Trustly and PayPal allow bank transfers, credit cards, and even digital wallets. Paysafecard, on the other hand, is mainly based on prepaid vouchers.

Processing Speed. Check the standard processing time for transactions in the chosen system. For example, Trustly and PayPal provide instant transfers, while bank transfers may be slower.

Fees and Commissions. Different systems charge different fees for processing payments. It’s worth checking the commission table before choosing a specific method to minimize costs.

Security. As mentioned earlier, key elements for online payment systems are: data encryption, user authentication, and activity monitoring. The more safeguards, the better.

Customer Support. Also check the quality of customer service in case of potential issues. Online chat, phone, or a contact form on the website are basic. The faster and more efficient the support, the better.

Final thoughts

When playing online, it’s worth having confidence in the security of your finances. Verified payment systems provide transaction protection, convenience, and customer support.

When choosing an online casino, check what payment methods it offers. The presence of systems like Trustly or PayPal is a sign that the casino takes its customers’ security seriously.

GHXST Return with Haunting New Single “COSMIC,” Blending Doom and Desert Atmosphere

0

Following the release of their debut full-length album ‘Admire’ back in 2022, the LA-based noise duo GHXST today share their new single ‘COSMIC’. A hazy, slow-burning ballad that channels the haunting stillness of deserts and deep space, the track drips with distorted guitars and a spectral glow.

True to their doom-heavy roots, on the new single, GHXST’s sound floats between grit and atmosphere-a meditation on weight, distance, and the quiet pull of the infinite.

Known for their moody and existential doom-infused tracks, GHXST have solidified their place in the music scene over the past decade. Originally emerging from the New York underground scene alongside prominent bands like Salem and White Ring, GHXST have transitioned West, bringing their signature style with them.

Sublime Debuts New Era with “Ensenada,” First Original Track Featuring Jakob Nowell

0

Sublime announces the release of their new single “Ensenada,” the first original song from the band with Jakob Nowell as front man. This marks a significant milestone for the band, as “Ensenada” is the first truly original song from start to finish written by the trio since Jakob-son of founding front man Bradley Nowell-stepped into the role of lead vocalist and guitarist.

At its root, “Ensenada” encapsulates the signature Sublime vibe with a bit of melancholy underneath, created with a sound and lyrics meant to match the craziness and wit of the band’s earlier material, but also with some heart. “Ensenada” was inspired by the classic Sublime sound and features lyrics that reflect on personal experiences with love and relationships, exploring the human emotions that come along with it. Jakob Nowell describes the lyrics and use of absurdism as a defense mechanism to escape the intense, challenging feelings of when a relationship goes south. “Ensenada” was produced by Jon Joseph (BORNS) and is the first release from the band’s highly anticipated upcoming new album.

“Ensenada and the new music we’re working on is inspired by old Sublime material. You can’t match something from that 90s era – it was such a moment in time. This feels like an epilogue, a thank you to all of the fans and everyone who’s supported Sublime. Our goal with “Ensenada” was not to replicate anything, but from my perspective its more like a tribute to my uncles Bud and Eric and the inspiration they give me. It’s organic and we have a good time. We did a bunch of jams, dove into the old catalog, and the more it felt like fun-throwing it all together and seeing what sticks-the more we knew that was the right move. Creating genuine music that reflects your life and times… people tap into that, and then you look around and realize, wow, look at all the love we’ve found.” – Jakob Nowell

Sublime recently announced their return home to Long Beach, CA to perform at the Vans Warped Tour July 26, nearly 30 years after the original lineup played the first incarnation of the festival. Front man Jakob Nowell joined Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson to announce Sublime’s Warped Tour return in June at the annual ‘Grow Long Beach’ event, where he spoke about the band’s history with the city and their musical legacy.

In addition to various high-profile festival appearances and headlining shows in 2025, Sublime recently announced a Las Vegas takeover called Fear, Loathing, and Sublime in Las Vegas taking place at the Park MGM August 14-17. The multi-night event includes live performances from Sublime, punk rock powerhouses Pennywise, The Vandals and more. VIP experiences including exclusive access to soundcheck parties, opportunities to meet the band, intimate acoustic jam sessions, an exclusive look at a curated collection of Sublime memorabilia on display and much more.

After Jakob Nowell’s history making debut as Sublime’s new front man at Coachella 2024, he and his uncles Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson continued the momentum of the latest chapter of the band, performing at over 20 festivals and shows across North America by the end of last year. Additional highlights from 2024 include Sublime’s late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, a 4-song set on the Howard Stern Show and the band’s first top 10 hit on alternative radio since 1997 with their single “Feel Like That,” featuring the vocals of both Bradley Nowell and his son Jakob together.

2025 is shaping up to be an even busier year for the band, with a handful of headlining shows, high-profile festival appearances to support the release of Sublime’s forthcoming new album.

Sheryl Crow Takes Aim at “The New Normal” in Bold New Single with The Real Lowdown

0

Nine-time GRAMMY AWARD winner and 2023 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Sheryl Crow released her latest single, “The New Normal,” out now via The Valory Music Co.

The track was written, recorded, and produced in collaboration with The Real Lowdown, Crow’s incredible touring band of 15 years comprised of Fred Eltringham (drums, percussion), Audley Freed (electric guitar), Jen Gunderman (keyboards), Robert Kearns (bass), and Peter Stroud (electric guitar).

In “The New Normal,” Crow takes a bold stance on the state of our political climate and the rapid, unpredictable advancements in artificial intelligence, topics she has continued to express strong concern and uneasiness about over the last several years. She sings, “Is it science fiction of prediction wrapped in George Orwell. If the news is fake and fear is hate, and nothing’s immoral. To the leader of the free world. Then, welcome to the new normal.”

Never one to hold back, Crow continues to use her voice for good, creating fiercely outspoken and timely music that is deeply rooted in authenticity, and “The New Normal” is no exception. “What’s happening all around us is so unbelievably bizarre, that my fear is we will truly begin to feel like this is normal. And that’s what terrifies me,” she shares.

Of working with her longtime touring band The Real Lowdown on this song, Crow says, “I am so blessed to have the band that I have. For years, we have jammed up such cool stuff during sound checks that we decided we go in and start recording as a band. Can’t wait for everyone to hear the new stuff we are doing.”

Luke Tyler Shelton Releases Debut EP ‘Blue Sky,’ Produced by Shooter Jennings and Jonathan Wilson

0

Luke Tyler Shelton releases his debut EP Blue Sky via Concord Records. Produced by Shooter Jennings (Brandi Carlile, Tanya Tucker) and Jonathan Wilson (Father John Misty, Angel Olsen), Shelton’s debut body of work merges country-rock, folk-pop, and Southern soul into songs that immediately transport the audience into a state of enchanted ease. With a style informed by his DIY community that holds a mirror to the near-mythic creative hotbed of early-70s Laurel Canyon, Shelton calls back a faraway time in a distinctive soul-soothing, windows-down type of way – Stream Blue Sky here.

After connecting with Jennings and Wilson, Shelton’s early music was recorded to tape with his close circle of friends at Wilson’s studio in the bohemian enclave of Topanga Canyon. Mixed by four-time Grammy-winner Trina Shoemaker (Sheryl Crow, Queens Of The Stone Age)-and also featuring Jennings’ longtime bandmate Ted Russell Kamp on bass and Wilson on drums, guitar, and Moog synth- Shelton’s debut EP achieves a certain rarefied magic, matching their exquisitely orchestrated sound with a free-flowing energy that instantly transfers onto the listener.

On today’s release, he shares, “‘Blue Sky’ is the title track and final single to be released as a part of my debut EP. I wrote it over two years ago and it’s still one of, if not my favorite song I’ve written so far. It’s one of few that I feel I wrote completely for myself, as I was going through a breakup and I think most people who listen to it have felt a similar type of relief that the song provided me during that time.”
