L.Y.R. Announce New Album ‘Dark Sky Reservation’ And Share Hypnotic Lead Single

0

L.Y.R. announce their new album ‘Dark Sky Reservation’, due out April 3 via Real World Records. The trio of UK Poet Laureate Simon Armitage, producer and multi-instrumentalist Patrick J. Pearson, and singer-songwriter Richard Walters continue their evolution with a record rooted in contradiction, clarity, and contemplation. The album draws on the idea that true illumination only appears in darkness, pairing environmental, emotional, and psychological themes with immersive sound design.

Alongside the announcement, L.Y.R. share lead single “Blah! Blah! Blah!”, a minimalist and immediately gripping track that builds toward a manic, hypnotic release. The song reflects on information overload and modern disconnection, embodying the tension between constant communication and emotional isolation. Musically and lyrically, it captures the band’s ongoing fascination with the noise and confusion of contemporary life, transforming overload into propulsion and focus.

‘Dark Sky Reservation’ follows a decade of boundary-pushing work that has seen L.Y.R. move fluidly between albums, commissions, and live performance. To mark the release, the band will embark on their largest U.K. tour to date across April and May, including a London performance at the ICA. Across hypnotic compositions, ethereal vocals, and poetry that leans toward consolation and wonder, L.Y.R. continue to create music built for reflection, refuge, and quiet illumination.

Hudson Ingram Shares Intimate New Single And Video “Baby Just Be”

0

Hudson Ingram releases his new single and music video “Baby Just Be,” out now via Interscope Records in partnership with an upcoming joint venture with Aaron Dessner. Written after relocating from Texas to Nashville, the song captures a moment of transition and emotional recalibration, tracing themes of growth, humility, and endurance with quiet confidence. The track carries a grounded, reflective energy that highlights Ingram’s natural instinct for clear-eyed storytelling and melodic restraint.

Reflecting on the song’s origins, Ingram shares that it was one of the first pieces he wrote after moving, created alongside close collaborator Jack Schrepferman in an unpolished, spontaneous setting. He describes the recording as memorializing a real chapter of his life, with Dessner later expanding the song’s emotional world without losing its core intimacy. With “Baby Just Be,” Ingram continues to define a voice rooted in honesty and immediacy, signaling a young artist documenting growth as it unfolds in real time.

GWAR Turns Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club” Into Maximalist Metal Chaos

0

Intergalactic metal maniacs GWAR deliver one of the most unexpected covers in recent memory with their full-throttle take on “Pink Pony Club,” originally by Chappell Roan. Captured for The A.V. Club and recorded live at Chelsea Studios NYC, the performance leans hard into spectacle, volume, and theatrical excess, transforming a modern pop anthem into a gleefully over-the-top metal ritual.

GHOST Unleash “It’s a Sin” As SKELETOUR 2026 Returns And GRAMMY Nod Lands

0

Swedish theatrical rock icons GHOST have made their cover of “It’s a Sin” available on DSPs for the first time, coinciding with the launch of Chapter 24 of their webisode series, “Frater is Delegating.” Previously released only as a 7-inch bonus single with deluxe editions of ‘Prequelle’, the track brings new life to the Pet Shop Boys classic, echoing co-writer Neil Tennant’s long-held belief that the song carries a metal core. The release adds another striking chapter to GHOST’s carefully built mythology and recorded output.

Momentum continues as “Lachryma” earns a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards, marking another major moment for the band following their 2016 win for “Cirice.” The nomination arrives amid sustained global attention around ‘SKELETÁ’, GHOST’s sixth album, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and topped charts across Europe and Australia. The album’s singles have driven major streaming traction and viral visibility, reinforcing the band’s place at the forefront of modern heavy music.

GHOST’s SKELETOUR TOUR 2026 resumes January 21 in Orlando and runs through February 23 in Los Angeles, bringing 20 North American rituals to arenas across the continent. The tour continues the band’s phone-free concert tradition, creating an immersive live experience that has drawn widespread praise and deep fan devotion. Peter Frampton Celebrates 50 Years Of ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ With Vinylphyle Release

0

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Award-winning guitarist Peter Frampton marks the 50th anniversary of his landmark album ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’. Originally released in 1976, the album became a defining cultural moment, capturing Frampton’s onstage power and connection with audiences. Nearly five decades later, it remains one of the best-selling live albums of all time, with close to 20 million copies sold worldwide and a lasting influence on live rock recordings.

To celebrate the milestone, Frampton releases a limited Vinylphyle edition of ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ on January 22. The double LP is sourced from the original 1975 Doug Sax quarter-inch production master, with lacquers cut by Joe Nino-Hernes and pressed on 180-gram black vinyl at RTI. The package includes a four-panel insert featuring a new interview with Frampton and Anthony Fantano of The Needle Drop, presenting the album as it was originally meant to be heard. The record is also available in Dolby Atmos, expanding on its immersive audio debut from 2024.

“I can’t believe it’s now been 50 years since Frampton Comes Alive! was released,” Frampton says. “When we decided to do this Vinylphyle edition, it was important to me that it be done the right way. I personally asked that the audio be sourced from the original 1975 Doug Sax production master because I wanted it to sound exactly as we heard it back then.” The care behind the release reflects how closely the album remains tied to his artistic identity.

Upon its release, ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ spent ten weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200, earned an Album of the Year nomination at the 19th Annual Grammy Awards, and was later certified eight-times platinum by the RIAA. Inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, the album captured a moment when live performance, personality, and technical innovation converged. Its enduring popularity continues to introduce new listeners to Frampton’s dynamic presence and musicianship.

Frampton recently completed his Let’s Do It Again! headlining tour, continuing a remarkable late-career chapter that includes his Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, a Grammy win for ‘Fingerprints’, and ongoing recognition across music institutions. As the anniversary of ‘Frampton Comes Alive!’ arrives, the Vinylphyle release stands as both a celebration of legacy and a reaffirmation of an album that still feels vivid, immediate, and alive.

Malin calls it “the most personal thing I’ve ever done on stage,” describing it as a way to reconnect with the Bowery, where his musical life first took shape. The show also reflects Malin’s recent chapter of recovery and renewal, standing as a love letter to New York and a powerful act of creative persistence inspired by his upcoming memoir ‘Almost Grown: A New York Memoir’.
