Jon Batiste Announces New Album ‘BIG MONEY’ With Title Track And Tour Following Grammy Wins And Super Bowl Spotlight

0

Multi-GRAMMY and Academy Award winner Jon Batiste today announced his new album BIG MONEY, out August 22 via Verve/Interscope. Alongside the announcement, Batiste released the album’s title track and official music video—available now.

Described by The Guardian as “a certified musical genius,” Batiste continues to defy categorization with BIG MONEY—a bold, groove-driven statement about humanity, capitalism, and Americana. Stripping things down to their most essential elements, the album delivers a richly textured sound layered with spirit, irony, joy, and depth. Written and recorded mostly live in single takes over the course of just two weeks, BIG MONEY captures the raw immediacy of creative expression. The emphasis on collective energy and spontaneity draws on the roots of American music as a communal force—and offers an antidote to modern disconnection.

At the heart of the album is its title track—a percussive, hook-laden anthem sparked by a moment of inspiration following Batiste’s 2024 performance at The Ryman Auditorium. He wrote the song on guitar before he even knew he was making a new album. On the surface, it’s an infectious call for ambition. Beneath the rhythm, it’s a layered meditation on capitalism, survival, and what we choose to value.

“This is the circus of love. Under our tent there is revival and joy,” Batiste says. “You don’t lose your soul—you gain it. When Mama says, ‘Don’t be a dummy, everybody chasing that BIG MONEY,’ Mama is pushing you—while warning you. It cuts both ways.”

The track, anchored by Batiste’s guitar and retro-soul revivalist Nick Waterhouse, is brought to life by the soaring vocals of The Womack Sisters—a rising trio and granddaughters of soul legend Sam Cooke—who echo the refrain: “Might as well live for something you can feel…something that’s real.”

Batiste co-produced the album with longtime creative confidant Dion “No ID” Wilson. Other collaborators include Andra Day, Randy Newman, and a tight-knit group of musicians, songwriters, and engineers. Rather than aiming for polish, the sessions prioritized feel and presence—capturing performances in real time and preserving their imperfections as part of the record’s spiritual DNA.

Anchored by lyricism, heart, and the power of collaboration, BIG MONEY reframes and recasts Americana for a new generation—drawing on Batiste’s New Orleans roots, his gospel and protest music lineage, and his love of raw, immediate expression. The sonic palette spans blues, soul, reggae, and minimalist balladry, daring to classify them all as part of a new, evolving genre: New Americana.

Variety has called Batiste “a protean pianist and megawatt personality”—a description embodied here as he dances between styles and philosophies without losing cohesion. Each track builds on the last to create a unified vision of music as both resistance and release.

“However you interpret the songs,” Batiste says, “you can’t help feeling them. You can’t help accepting an invitation into the tent. Come in and have fun…some deeply serious fun.”

Earlier this year, Batiste made headlines for his powerful performance of the National Anthem at the 2025 Super Bowl, which brought his singular artistry to one of America’s most-watched stages. He also took home two GRAMMY Awards—Best Music Film for the critically acclaimed Netflix documentary American Symphony, and Best Song Written for Visual Media for “It Never Went Away,” the Oscar-nominated track he co-wrote with Dan Wilson for the film.

BIG MONEY follows Beethoven Blues, released November 15 via Verve/Interscope. The album marked Batiste’s biggest sales week to date, debuting at No. 1 on Billboard’s Classical Albums chart and No. 9 on the Top Album Sales chart. It also entered the Billboard 200 at No. 64—his highest debut on the chart and his fifth career entry. Beethoven Blues held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Classical Crossover Albums chart for nine consecutive weeks and topped the Billboard Classical Albums chart for five weeks. Showcasing his interpolations of Beethoven’s most iconic works through an expansive and innovative lens, the album expands the boundaries of classical music by infusing it with spontaneity, soul, and inclusivity.

Batiste will support BIG MONEY with a national headlining run, The BIG MONEY Tour: Jon Batiste Plays America, kicking off August 27 in Kansas City, MO. The tour will stop at more than 30 venues across the country, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre, the Grand Ole Opry, and a co-headline date with Diana Ross at The Muny in St. Louis, MO. Bob Marley Celebrated With LP Giobbi Remix Of ‘Could You Be Loved’ And Special 80th Anniversary Releases

0

The Marley family, UMe, and Island Records continue to celebrate Bob Marley’s 80th birthday and his significance in the global music movement with a brand-new remix of Bob Marley & The Wailers’ “Could You Be Loved” (with LP Giobbi).

American DJ, music producer, and classically trained jazz pianist LP Giobbi bathes the track in a hazy techno glow, injecting it with pulsating energy that creates space for movement and mood. Often regarded as a fusion of reggae and disco, “Could You Be Loved” lends itself perfectly to LP Giobbi’s remixing style.  The respective remix offers an entirely different perspective on the original, revealing new layers and emotions.

Initially released in 1980 as the first single from Bob Marley & the Wailers’ twelfth album, Uprising, “Could You Be Loved” is also included on their greatest hits album Legend (1984). The song hit number 6 on the Hot Dance Club Songs Chart in the U.S., while in Europe it peaked in the top 10 in Belgium, France, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Switzerland, and the U.K.  In 2021, Rolling Stone included “Could You Be Loved” at number 363 in their list of “500 Best Songs of All Time.”

An exclusive merchandise capsule was released last month in celebration of the 45th anniversary of Uprising, featuring unique Bob Marley merchandise and a special, limited-edition “liquid sunshine”-filled vinyl reissue of the album, housed in a unique die-cut sleeve.  Order the “liquid-sunshine” LP and check out the exclusive merch options, HERE.

In other news, all six episodes of “Bob Marley & I” are available now.  The premiere episode features British film director, DJ, and musician Don Letts, who details his life-changing experience seeing Bob Marley & The Wailers at the infamous Lyceum Theatre in London in 1975.  The second episode features Marcia Griffiths, who describes her experience with Bob Marley & The Wailers as part of the I-Threes, while in the third episode, writer Chris Salewicz recounts meeting Marley at 56 Hope Road and a trip they took together to Jamaica’s infamous Gun Court to protest the jailing of an innocent man. The fourth episode highlights reggae DJ David Rodigan, who shares how a spontaneous introduction to Bob led to the exclusive debut of “Could You Be Loved.”  In the fifth episode, photographer Adrian Boots discusses his first encounter with Bob Marley and how their friendship developed over the years. The series finale premiered this week, featuring musician Lee Jaffe who recounts the first time he heard the legendary record “Trenchtown Rock,” and how he bonded with Bob in Jamaica.  Catch the entire series of “Bob Marley & I” episodes on Bob Marley’s Official Channels HERE.

Continuing the 80th Earthstrong festivities, Ziggy Marley’s Tuff Gong Worldwide recently re-released the critically acclaimed documentary Marley via video streaming platforms and a special 80th Collector’s Edition DVD that includes two hours of never-before-seen interview footage with the reggae icon’s friends and family. Originally released in 2012 and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald, Marley is widely regarded as the definitive documentary on the life, music, and legacy of the global reggae icon. Featuring rare footage, never-before-seen performances, and interviews with Marley’s family, friends, and collaborators, Marley offers an intimate and comprehensive look at the man behind the music. The film explores his journey from humble beginnings in Jamaica to becoming one of the most influential musicians of all time, spreading messages of love, unity, and resistance that continue to resonate worldwide. Marley is available via domestic video streaming platforms now and will be released globally on July 15, 2025. Yusuf / Cat Stevens Announces First Career-Spanning Collection ‘On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits’ Ahead Of Memoir And Tour

0

Cat-O-Log Records, in partnership with A&M/UMe, is proud to announce On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits, the definitive and first-ever career-spanning collection of Yusuf / Cat Stevens’ profoundly emotive and moving songs from his near 60-year recording career, for release on September 5, 2025. Pre-order here.

On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits welcomes you into the imaginative universe of one of the world’s stellar musical talents: Yusuf / Cat Stevens. This phenomenal collection of songs highlights the depth and inventive style of his unique musical storytelling.

Featuring timeless hits that have transcended the era of their original releases, including “The Wind,” “Peace Train,” “Where Do The Children Play?” and “Wild World,” with songs from his debut 1967 LP, Matthew & Son, through to his last 2023 King Of A Land album.

The new record features a 24-page booklet containing all the incredible lyrics and never-before-seen reflections on the music by Yusuf / Cat himself.

Yusuf / Cat Stevens says: “I’m pleased that, at last, a collection of recordings includes some important songs I wrote after my evolvement, “Take The World Apart” and “Heaven / Where True Love Goes” for instance, reflecting the peace and happiness which has since changed my life. Thank you one and all. It’s really humbling to think about how many souls have been traversing this journey with me.”

Cat Stevens was launched to fame in the swinging sixties, with chart-topping pop hits like “Matthew & Son” and “The First Cut Is The Deepest.” His early career was interrupted by a near-fatal battle with tuberculosis – a turning point that ignited his quest for peace and understanding. Emerging from this experience, he rapidly rose to become one of the most prolific singer-songwriting icons of the seventies, captivating the world with soul-stirring anthems like “Wild World,” “Father And Son,” “Peace Train,” and “Morning Has Broken.” His classic albums Mona Bone Jakon, Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat have earned him a rightful place in both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Following another dangerous encounter with fate and near-drowning experience in 1975, Cat’s life took a spiritual turn as he converted to Islam and changed his name to Yusuf Islam. Leaving the music industry behind, Yusuf dedicated his life to God, family, and humanitarian work, which saw him receive numerous prestigious international awards including the World Award for “humanitarian relief work helping children and victims of war” and the Man of Peace Award, voted for by The Nobel Peace Laureates.

The latest chapter is Yusuf’s return to music, through which he has re-joined his past and present lives. Now known as Yusuf / Cat Stevens – a name that represents the synergy between the two key periods of his life – his inspirational story is one of quest, survival, and redemption. With over 100 million records sold and billions of streams, his powerful voice and poetic lyrics continue to inspire, now intertwined with a life of activism and altruism. As a campaigner for faith education, ecological consciousness and humanitarian work, Yusuf has become a global advocate for peace and coexistence.

On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits will be released ahead of Yusuf’s long-awaited memoir Cat On The Road To Findout, releasing on October 7, 2025. The new autobiography is an extraordinary transformative journey through the triumphs, trials, and boundless quest of one of music’s most enigmatic figures of all time.  To pre-order the book, visit catstevens.com

Cat On The Road To Findout will be published in hardback, ebook, and audiobook format, the latter narrated by the author. To pre-order the book and join the pre-sale for his upcoming book tour later this year, visit catstevens.com

Featuring lyrics and new notes by Yusuf himself, On The Road To Findout: Greatest Hits will be released globally across multiple formats, including 1CD and 2LP 140g formats, with a deeper dive edition available on 2CD and 4LP 140g, all featuring newly remastered audio. Priscilla Block Reimagines “Cecilia” With Fiery New Single “You’re Breaking My Heart” Ahead Of Fall Tour With Cole Swindell

0

Praised by The New York Times for her “refreshing and ambitious” approach to the country genre, PLATINUM-selling artist Priscilla Block puts her trademark sass on a bold reimagination of Simon & Garfunkel’s timeless “Cecilia” with her new song “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia),” ouT today.

From Simon & Garfunkel’s 1970 GRAMMY Album of the Year-winning record ‘Bridge Over Troubled Water,’ “Cecilia” tells a story of love gone wrong; however, Block’s “You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia)” flips the script. Block’s version tells off the “other woman” with the hands-off-my-man attitude of Dolly Parton’s iconic, GRAMMY-nominated hit “Jolene,” in an emotional tug-of-war that’s equally playful as it is piercing.

“Some of my all-time favorite songs are modern takes on old classics, and when I heard this one, it just felt right,” says Block. “My mom grew up listening to ‘Cecilia,’ and to me, it has that same timeless pull — like a modern-day ‘Jolene.’ I hope y’all love it.”

“You’re Breaking My Heart (Cecilia)” was written by the Nashville songwriting community’s finest, including GRAMMY Songwriter of the Year Jessie Jo Dillon, Muscle Shoals-raised eight-time No.1 songwriter Chris Tompkins, 2x GRAMMY-nominated Jesse Frasure and PLATINUM-selling artist Hailey Whitters.

The track was produced by multi-PLATINUM selling, four-time GRAMMY Award-winning Record Producer and Songwriter David Garcia.

Since the release of her breakout single “Just About Over You,” Block has built a loyal following of more than 5.1 million online fans with her bubbly charisma, animated storytelling and high-energy stage presence. She has earned nominations for the ACM Awards, CMT Awards and People’s Choice Country Awards, has landed on several Artist To Watch lists, and has made appearances on The Kelly Clarkson ShowThe Tamron Hall Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Block is expected to announce new music in the coming weeks and will join Cole Swindell’s Happy Hour Sad Tour this fall. For a full list of tour dates, visit priscillablock.com/tour.

Sigrid Returns With Playful New Single “Jellyfish” And Announces Summer Festival Dates Across Europe

0

After two critically acclaimed albums and a string of global hits, Norwegian pop powerhouse Sigrid returns today with “Jellyfish” — the luminous new single, which marks a new era for the pop star, known for her distinctive rasp and soaring vocal ability. Sigrid is the modern pop voice of Scandinavia — a breakout talent who rose from a tiny fishing town in Alesund to global acclaim. Across 2019’s top 5 hit Sucker Punch and 2022’s top 3 hit How to Let Go – Sigrid has carved a reputation for turning raw emotion into soaring festival anthems — and with Jellyfish, Sigrid leans into her more playful side. Watching Napoleon Dynamite in the background of co-writing and co-producing the song, the track channels the indie-leaning sound of early 2000s and the music she grew up listening to on her iPod, with a carefree energy that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly new, portrayed in the weird and wonderful official video.

Sigrid’s discography is a testament to her ability to turn songs written at the piano into global pop forces,  balancing vulnerability, power, and joy across every release. There’s the instant classic and breakthrough feminist anthem, Don’t Kill My Vibe — her debut single that shouted independence over sky-scraping drum claps — and the disco strut of Mirror, channelling hard-won self-confidence into a glorious festival moment, and the top 10 smash Strangers tackled heartbreak with fearless honesty. That knack for forging gold in life’s fires continues on Sigrid’s highly anticipated new music. Now 28, Sigrid is approaching love and loss from a wiser, more nuanced perspective.

“It’s my slightly more free-spirited and joyous side,” Sigrid says of Jellyfish. “I wanted it to feel easy — like a Scandinavian summer. Flirting can feel so chaotic and stupid, but that’s the best part of it.”

“Jellyfish” was written alongside longtime collaborator Askjell Solstrand — who co-wrote and produced Sigrid’s breakthrough ballad “Dynamite”. Their 10-year friendship has been fertile ground for vulnerability in the studio, with complete  trust  to experiment. “I love using my voice as a vessel to pour my heart out,” she shares, “but on this song, I wanted it to sound carefree, joyful and playful – maybe a bit nonchalant.”

After two sold-out global tours, over 2.2 billion global streams, and career-defining moments like performing on Glastonbury’s The Other Stage, headlining London’s OVO Wembley Arena, Sigrid found herself in 2024 needing a reset. She stepped away from the pressure of “content culture” in writing rooms to rediscover the joy of making music simply for the love of it. Solo trips to remote parts of Norway, festival stages in South America, and cathartic jam sessions with her band reignited her creative spark. Removing the pressure and embracing instinct – Sigrid started writing what felt good in the room, and Jellyfish is the result of this headspace.

A festival favourite artist, Sigrid will perform at festivals across Europe and the UK this summer, with dates confirmed at Y NOT, TRNSMT, Latitude, Tramlines and more.

Bryant Barnes Releases Heartfelt New Single “Two Sides of Goodbye” Ahead Of Debut Album And Tour With d4vd

0

Rising alternative R&B singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Bryant Barnes unveils a brand new single entitled “Two Sides Of Goodbye” out now.

Bounding with emotion, “Two Sides Of Goodbye” embodies the hallmarks of his instantly identifiable signature tone. Notes pulled from softly pressed piano keys linger in the background, echoing through the silence and accenting the heartbreak in his delivery. On the refrain, he can’t let go of a doomed relationship, going on to ponder aloud, “How can you be so happy? Look at you living without me while I can’t let go.” It culminates on one last catharsis rife with raw feeling.

He just picks up where he left off with the fan favorite “Why Can’t You” at the top of the year. The latter has already reeled in 12 million-plus streams and earned acclaim. CLASH raved, “The singer’s tender youth – a mere 19-years-old at the time of writing – belies his huge skill, melting together R&B, soul, gospel, and more.” Rated R&B applauded how, In the melancholic ballad, Barnes contemplates reality of unrequited love and the glimmer of hope that his partner will stay to make it work.” Billboard touted it among “R&B/Hip-Hop Fresh Picks of the Week, proceeding to proclaim, “Bryant Barnes is proving unstoppable.” New Wave Magazine promised, “Bryant is making sure his presence is felt within the industry.”

Earlier this year, he notably supported 070 Shake on The Petrichor Tour across North America, captivating audiences around the country. This summer, he’ll also be joining d4vd on select dates of the WITHERED Tour, bringing their Texas-rooted chemistry to stages nationwide.

It’s just the beginning though…

Be on the lookout for a whole lot more to come from Bryant Barnes soon.

To close out last year, Bryant Barnes released  “Is This Love To You” and launched his first sold-out headline run in November with shows in Houston, New York, and Los Angeles. Within merely three minutes of going on sale, all of the tickets were grabbed by fans in a frenzy! He has quietly taken flight as one of the year’s boldest breakout artists. “I’d Rather Pretend” quickly became one of Bryant’s most popular songs with a tidal wave of viral engagement. Upon release it crashed the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs Chart peaking at #7. Simultaneously it gained nearly over 211 million global streams as the debut EP VANITY peaked at #13 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and #10 Apple Music R&B Albums Chart. The EP is impressively approaching 400 million global streams and counting.

About Conan Gray:
Nobody has tapped into the thoughts and feelings of his generation quite like Conan Gray. The Texas native has transformed into the quintessential Gen Z singer-songwriter and pop artist by never losing sight of where he came from and designing a world without comparison. Conan turns the page to his next chapter in 2025 with his fourth studio album, Wishbone, out August 15th, 2025. Continuing a partnership that dates back to 2018, he welcomed GRAMMY® Award winner Dan Nigro back as Executive Producer for the album, along with producers Ethan Gruska, Noah Conrad, Luka Kloser and Elvira Anderfjärd.

Conan left an indelible imprint on pop culture in 2020 when his debut LP Kid Krow, produced by Dan Nigro, bowed at #5 on the Billboard 200. Kid Krow went Platinum and yielded a series of signature smashes, including the 4x-Platinum “Heather,” 3x-Platinum “Maniac,” Gold-Certified “Comfort Crowd,” “The Story,” “Wish You Were Sober,” and “The Cut That Always Bleeds.” Among these staples, he entered rarified air with “Heather”, which has become one of a handful of songs with 2 billion streams penned by one writer – Conan himself.

With over 12 billion global streams to date, Conan returned to the Top 15 of the Billboard 200 with Superache (2022) and Found Heaven (2024). He has incited the applause of The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Vogue, GQ, V Man, PAPER, The FADER, Billboard, and NPR in addition to performing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, TODAY, and more. In 2024, Conan took flight as an arena headliner, selling out hallowed venues around the world such as Madison Square Garden, the Kia Forum, and Wembley Arena. A fixture at events like the Met Gala, he is just as uncompromisingly influential as a style icon, embracing a fashion-forward aesthetic like no other. Beyond thriving as a songwriter and performer, Conan also serves as the core creative director for his project, meticulously shaping every layer of his vision for each album era. He continues this trend on Wishbone – 12 self-written songs from a world all his own.
