Foreigner Announce Massive 50th Anniversary Tour Expansion With New Dates And A Broadway-Style Musical

0

Fifty years in and Foreigner are not slowing down. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers have announced a major expansion of their 2026 anniversary touring schedule, adding new dates in Albuquerque, El Paso, Scottsdale, Reno, and more to a calendar that already tops 90 shows across the U.S. and Europe, with numerous sold-out concerts already on the books. The celebration extends into 2027, when the band marks the 50th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album.

“When I started Foreigner in 1976, I never could have imagined that these songs would carry us through fifty years and still resonate with audiences around the world,” said founding member Mick Jones. The numbers bear him out: more than 80 million albums sold, 16 Top 30 hits, 10 multi-platinum albums, and catalog streams approaching 20 million per week. Billboard’s Greatest of All Time listings rank them alongside Fleetwood Mac in Top 10 hits, ahead of Journey.

The anniversary year spans formats and continents. April brings original vocalist Lou Gramm back into the fold for “Foreigner 4 Deluxe,” performing the legendary album ‘4’ in its entirety across Florida dates. June launches a 26-date European run including sold-out shows in Germany, the U.K., Switzerland, and Scandinavia. July 23 kicks off the “Double Trouble Double Vision” co-headline tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd at amphitheaters across the United States.

Also in April, Foreigner’s legacy moves to the stage with ‘Feels Like The First Time: The Foreigner Musical’, directed by Broadway star Adam Pascal and developed with the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts and LIU’s Post Theatre Company. Set in 1985, the production follows a suburban family who win an MTV sweepstakes for a weekend visit from a rock icon. It runs eleven performances from April 17 through 26 at The Little Theatre on LIU’s Brookville campus. Tickets are on sale now at TillesCenter.org/FLTFT. And in July 2026, the band releases ‘In The Eye of The Storm’, a concert and documentary film capturing a historic 2025 performance on Ellis Island with Lou Gramm and special surprise guests.

Chip Taylor, Songwriter Behind “Wild Thing” And “Angel Of The Morning,” Dies At 86

0

Chip Taylor, the Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee who wrote two of the most covered songs in the history of popular music, died Monday in hospice care. He was 86. Born James Wesley Voight on March 21, 1940 in Yonkers, New York, Taylor leaves behind a catalog that touched virtually every corner of American music, from garage rock to country to R&B, and a legacy that will outlast most of what gets written in any given decade.

“Wild Thing” came first. Written in minutes at the request of a producer working with Jordan Christopher and the Wild Ones, the song’s raw simplicity made it irresistible. The Troggs took it to number one in July 1966. Jimi Hendrix performed it at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 and set his guitar on fire when he was done. X recorded it. It appeared in Major League. Taylor considered it the beginning of punk. “It’s simple and it feels good,” he said. “It’s sweaty. Sweaty things are good.”

“Angel of the Morning” followed a different arc. First recorded by Evie Sands in 1967, it reached number seven with Merrilee Rush in 1968, then became a million-selling number four hit for Juice Newton in 1981, the first country song to play on MTV. Shaggy sampled it for his 2001 hit “Angel.” It opened Deadpool. Nina Simone, Olivia Newton-John, and the Pretenders all recorded versions. The song simply refused to stop finding new audiences.

Taylor’s catalog extended well beyond those two landmarks. Janis Joplin opened her debut album with his “Try (Just a Little Bit Harder).” Linda Ronstadt popularized “I Can’t Let Go.” Willie Nelson recorded “He Sits at Your Table.” Frank Sinatra, Waylon Jennings, Emmylou Harris, and Marshall Crenshaw all covered his songs. He signed both Billy Vera and James Taylor as a staff writer at April-Blackwood Music, CBS’s publishing arm, and formed Rainy Day Records with Al Gorgoni in 1967, releasing the Flying Machine single that first introduced James Taylor to the world.

Between 1981 and 1995, Taylor walked away from music entirely to become a professional gambler, counting cards and betting horses until casinos banned him from their floors. He returned to music in 1995, launched his own Train Wreck Records in 2007, and spent the final decades of his career making intimate Americana records, often alongside singer-violinist Carrie Rodriguez. His 2012 album carried the title that said everything about his personality. His final album, ‘The Truth And Other Things’, came out in 2025. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016, with his brother Jon Voight present to mark the occasion.

Taylor is survived by his children Kelly and Kristian, his grandchildren, his brother Jon Voight, and his brother Barry Voight. His wife Joan passed away in June 2025. He was 86 years old and had been writing songs since he was a teenager sitting in the Brill Building, certain that music was the only place he ever wanted to be.

What to Know Before You Work With an Attorney

0

By Mitch Rice

Legal issues may be confusing, pressurizing and even intimidating. It can make a significant difference whether we have a personal conflict and require the services of a legal expert, or a business conflict and need to solve a problem that concerns the company. Lawyers act as navigators in the court system who assist customers in comprehending their rights and duties as they strive to achieve positive results.

What Attorneys Do for Their Clients

Lawyers offer many services beyond those of representation in court. Providing legal advice to a client depending on their situation is one of the main duties of lawyers. This is through interpretation of laws, clarification of legal alternatives and assisting clients to make decisions.

Moreover, the lawyers tend to deal with the preparation of documents. Law documentation is required to be accurate and even minor mistakes can cause delays or other inconveniences. Lawyers will make certain that every contract, agreement, and other legal document is correct and properly legal.

The other important aspect of the attorney is negotiation. Settlement or agreement is a way of solving many legal issues that are not in court. Lawyers represent the interests of their clients in such a way that they ensure adequate conditions without needless confrontation.

In those cases that end up in court, there will be lawyers who defend their clients presenting evidence and questioning witnesses, and making arguments. They must know courtroom procedures and legal plans in such situations.

The Significance of a Legal Advisory

Without the right knowledge, the legal system may turn out to be a hard nut to crack. The laws and regulations differ depending on the place of residence and may adjust over time and this may be very difficult as a person may not be in a position to keep abreast of them. Lawyers are the ones who assist in filling this gap by giving guidance and clarity.

Legal advice is most useful in highly-stakes matters like financial, property or personal rights battles. Professional assistants can help in eliminating stress and increasing the likelihood of a positive resolution.

Important Things to Pay attention to when Hiring an Attorney

Choosing an attorney is a serious course of action that has to be taken into consideration. The attorney area of practice is one of the first factors to be taken into consideration. There are various attorneys with specializations in various fields of the law, which can include family law, criminal law or business law. The selection of a person who has a relevant experience makes the person conversant with the issues at hand.

Another important factor is communication. A good lawyer must be capable of interpreting the legal terms in a simple and comprehensible manner. Clients ought to be free to ask questions and they must be assured that their concerns are taken care of.

Availability and responsiveness are also important. Legal issues are timely issues, and therefore it is desirable to deal with a person who can be approached with and who is attentive. Failure to respond fast may affect the development of a case.

Persuading oneself of the options may also require some searching of general legal resources. In the case of a lawyer Oklahoma City, an example of a lawyer, it is possible to review information to understand what to expect when seeking help in a particular location.

Comprehension of Costs and Expectations

Depending on the complexity of the case and the experience of the attorney, legal services may be expensive or not. Other lawyers are paid on an hourly basis whereas others can charge a set fee to perform a particular service. Fees should be discussed in advance and should be known what they entail.

Expectations are major areas of concern in terms of transparency. The process, its possible consequences, and risks must be clear to the clients. Open communication can be used to develop trust and keep both the sides on track.

Developing a Good working relationship.

Establishing a good relationship on the courtroom between an attorney and a client is founded on trust, honesty, and cooperation. Clients must feel free to divulge all the pertinent information because even minor details may make a difference to a case. Attorneys, in their turn, are expected to give truthful evaluations and achievable estimates.

Constant communication and updating will ensure a good working relationship. Contacting the clients with the status of their case allows them to make their choices and remain involved into the process.

Final Thoughts

The lawyer is necessary to assist individuals and companies to find their way through legal issues. Their experience is invaluable in terms of offering a consultation and drafting the documents as well as negotiating agreements and defending the clients in court.

The selection of the appropriate attorney requires serious attention to the experience level, communication skills and compatibility. When one takes the time to know what attorneys actually do and what to examine, people can be more confident and clear in matters related to the law.
